Grace- Five years ago, I left my hometown to escape the torture of spending my days seeing the man I thought I couldn't have. Now I'm back, and I find myself unable to stay away from him any longer, especially after he admits he wants me too. I have everything I could ever want, but when my cheating ex boyfriend returns to cause trouble, I wonder what the future for my relationship, and safety, might look like. Jaxx- I've waited for her to return to my life for so long, I wondered if it would ever happen. Now she's back in my life and I vow to make sure she never finds reason to leave me again. And when her stalker ex rears his head, I find myself wanting to protect her with everything I have.
This is a small town romance with lots of spice, drama and violence (some sexual violence) 18+ only.
A big thank you to the author for gifting me this gorgeous book — I mean, can we just take a moment for this cover? ✨🌻

What didn’t quite work for me: • The romance leaned heavily on insta-love. I would’ve loved some “before” scenes to really buy into the they’ve always loved each other angle. • The emotional depth wasn’t quite there — I need more feelings and character growth in my romances. • The MMC being a sheriff but acting more like a casual cop (and abusing his power at times) pulled me out of the story.
That said… I flew through this in 3 days, and the characters have stuck in my head long after I closed the book. 👀 I’m even debating picking up the next in the series — so clearly, the author did something right!
Grace moves back to her hometown of Stillwater to escape her cheating ex boyfriend. Little does she know, her brothers best friend and childhood crush, Jaxx, is more than happy at her arrival back in town.
After waiting so long to finally have a chance with Grace, it’s finally their time to be happy; but darkness and danger is lurking on the horizon…
I really enjoyed the plot of the book and the dark twists and turns throughout. Also, the small town romance & brothers best friend vibes were spot on!
I can understand how some readers might not like the MMC (Jaxx) and think of him as a bit toxic, however I enjoyed his character for most of the book! The FMC (Grace) started to grate on me a bit towards the end but I think that she fit in with the dynamic of her relationship with Jaxx.
Overall, this was a good spicy romance, peppered with some underlying darkness! I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
This was a very enjoyable read with the HEA that you desperately wanted for this couple! Grace heads back to her hometown after a break up & soon comes face to face with her childhood friend & crush, Jaxx. Jaxx just so happens to be her brothers best friend, so he has always been off limits. Unbeknownst to Grace, Jaxx has felt the same way about her for years & now she is back in town he doesn’t want to let her slip away again. But finally getting to be together is not going to come without its challenges! It’s clear that the sexual tension has built over the years & little time is wasted to release it.
Whilst I enjoyed this book with it being a quick paced & easy read (with drama & spice), I found that for me some elements were a little underdeveloped. I wanted more backstory to understand & help me invest fully in these characters story.
✨BOOK REVIEW✨ Missed You – Robyn Reed ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5/5)
If you love small-town romance with spice, drama, and a touch of danger, Missed You by Robyn Reed is one to check out! Grace and Jaxx’s story is full of tension, longing, and the kind of protective hero vibes that make your heart race. The plot was super engaging (though definitely dark at times—check those trigger warnings!), and it was such an easy read that I flew through it in one sitting.
That said, first-person present tense isn’t my favorite, so I struggled to fully connect at times, but that’s totally a personal thing! I do wish the book had been a bit longer to really dive into the conflicts and emotions—I’m a sucker for angst, after all 🤭—but overall, it was an enjoyable, fast-paced read. If you’re in the mood for a steamy, intense romance with plenty of drama, give this one a go!
I enjoyed this book, I enjoyed the spice! The book was very fast paced and easy to read. I loved the tropes in this book. The way some of the more serious subjects are covered in this book are great, really realistic and portrayed well.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the MMC but that may just be me! I wish the characters had a bit more backstory to them so I could fully connect to them.
I went into this book blind not knowing anything about it and I did enjoy it, it is a very fast pace book with a lot happening but easy to keep trace of it all. I really liked Jaxx people say that didn’t like him as he comes over a bit too strong, but I believe that he let her slip away once he was not going to let that happen again.
I am now excited to read about Rose and Luca, I anticipate a lot of banter between these two from what I have read in this book.
Robyn very kindly asked if I'd like a copy of her book and after hearing more about the story, I was definitely interested to give it a try. This book didn't disappoint! It was full of drama and action, spice and heartwarming moments that I couldn't help but love. The characters were great and I really liked this! I've added her most recent release to my TBR and I'll definitely look forward to seeing more of her work!
For the right person, it’s a great book! I didn’t enjoy the MFC, but that’s just me. I loved the MMC and the idea was great, it just wasn’t my cup of tea! I will be recommending this to some people I know will love it!
Thank you so much to the author for kindly sending me a copy of this beautiful book! It was such a brilliant start to the series.
Grace’s life is shaken when she finds her boyfriend in the act with their neighbour. Furious and without any other choice, she returns to her hometown and is thrust back into her childhood crushes world again. Jaxx has adored his best-friend’s sister as long as he can remember; when she left five years ago, he was devastated. Now she is home again, and her ex is causing all kinds of problems, he is happy to step in and be the reliable man she needs.
This book was brilliant! I finished this within 24 hours, and was pulled into Grace and Jaxx’s turbulent romance. The contents of this book is as beautiful as the cover.
Grace is continuously finding herself in risky, dangerous situations that she is determined to remain strong after. She doubts herself, sits with guilt over her predicament and hates to be a burden on others; but the people around her adore her no matter what.
Jaxx is a sheriff. Enough said right? As well as this he is caring, loving and dedicating to proving how he feels to Grace. The man is a clear communicator who knows what he wants … wow.
There are some really serious subject matters that occur in this book, but they are handled and written in a realistic, raw and perfect way. The plot had me reeling after all the twists and turns, and just when you think one thing, something else occurs.
A brilliantly written romance novel, with childhood friends to lovers x brothers best friend and more!
One to add to your TBR! Adult readers only - and please do check CW/TWs before reading.
My first book from the lovely @robynreedbooks! Going into this book completely blind not really know what to expect, I am pleasantly pleased. A very fast paced books, plenty of characters with a lot happening however was super easy to keep up with.
After reading reviews and people not being overly keen on Jaxx, well I bloody love him and I am so happy that him and Grace got their happy ever after!
So glad I have read this one and cannot wait to read the next book by this lovely lady! A perfect small town romance with plenty of spice 🥵😍
Jaxx is the best friend of Grace's older brother Tristan (7 year gap). She has always been around and Jaxx has always been very protective of her. They both had feelings for each other but neither one told the other and Grace left town because she couldn't bear to watch Jaxx move on. Jaxx, unbeknownst to Grace, was devastated by her leaving and tried to move on during that time but never could. He let her go because he felt she needed to find out who she was.
Anyway, our book starts with Grace returning to town and Jaxx immediately taking his shot! There is zero hanging around for this guy, he goes after what he wants from the start. Jaxx had never imagined that Grace would stay away for as long as she did so he wasn't wasting any more time. I really enjoyed these two coming to the realisation that had the just spoken the could have saved themselves a lot of time! There is some drama with her crazy ex (I enjoyed it wasn't a crazy ow for once) but the bulk of the story is about these two! It was refreshing to read how supportive Tristan was of the two of them too!
What would have made this a 5* for me - I'd have liked to have seen some more build up of their earlier relationship and then her leaving town to truly understand their feelings at the time.
This was a great read and I can't wait to see more from this author!
If you’re a fan of small-town romances with a twist of danger and a whole lot of heat, Missed You delivers it all. Robyn Reed serves up a delicious second-chance story between a woman starting over and her brother’s best friend—cue the slow-burn chemistry and forbidden temptation.
The story kicks off with a bang—literally—with one of the most memorable breakup lines in recent romance history: "I came home from work early and found my boyfriend balls deep in the neighbor from two doors down." From that moment, you know you're in for a ride that’s raw, real, and unapologetically sassy.
What makes this book stand out is how it balances the warm charm of a close-knit town with the tension of a lurking stalker ex. The romantic tension is palpable, and the protective, quietly broody hero makes every scene sizzle. The emotional growth, layered pasts, and just the right touch of suspense keep the pages turning.
If you love the “brother’s best friend” trope with a heroine finding her strength, Missed You belongs on your TBR.
Great start to the book, really captured my interest, but then there were a lot of grammatical mistakes and it seemed like the author got lazy with trying to finish the book. The characters had no real dialog after page 100
