wow I’m shook, I’m in complete and utter shock, my jaw is hanging open, and I don’t think I’ve taken a breath in the last minute or so. I umm may or may not have ignored the warning in the dedication, my advice to you, read it, it’s true. Honestly I wasn’t expecting that plot twist and I’m very confused now. The plot is good, two kids who met at group therapy and became really good friends meet again years later, but things are a lot more complicated than they were back then. Cameron loves Leyla, he may or may not have been lightly stalking her for a bit and has a quite interesting line of work. They “coincidentally” meet in the town they grew up in and fall in love again, so sweet. But there’s a lot of fcked up stuff going around that town. So many plot twists! I already thought the revelation about Layla's parents was major but the last 30 pages were intense. I was so confused and in shock. There are so many questions left unanswered and I can’t wait for the next book to hopefully find out the answers. I like their dynamic, it’s very cute how perfectly they fit together. How he helps her breathe during her panic attacks and how she snaps him out of his traumatic visions and fits of rage. This book won’t be leaving my mind for a while, and that says a lot because my memory is terrible. I enjoyed most of this, the last part is pretty terrifying but in a good way. I give this a 4/5
“Leyla’s voice settles through me like a balm to an open wound that won’t stop bleeding”
I devoured this book! And that’s saying something because I’m a slow reader normally!!
“Maplewood is a small place, it’s all stuck together by fake smiles, secrets, and graves that no one dares dig too deep.”
If you like dark romance with some mystery and some graphic scenes (sexual and non) then pick this up right now (or when it comes out!)
Honestly the twists in this book had me messaging people in outrage and shock (in the best way)
There’s a menu full of TW, which just made me more interested tbh.
Also… there wasn’t a single character that I hated. There’s one that gave me the ick but even then for a hot minute I was like “oh… maybe?” 🤭
Overall, the characters are well written, the story kept me hooked right up the the last word (I even begged the author for more) and the whole vibe was something I craved when I wasn’t reading it

Oh my god I ate this book up, I literally finished it in one sitting!! I absolutely loved Cameron and Leyla!! Cameron the man that u r!! 🤭 I loved how down bad he was from the jump!! 😆 But I also loved how loyal he was, & how he rly saw her and helped her in her darkest moments. 💖 Also the spice was definitely spicing 🥵 but it never took away from the plot. Speaking of plot, the plot had me SUCKED IN!!! The writing was fast paced, so I never found myself getting bored. I also loved Hazel & Zack as side characters, & I can’t wait to read their story!! Also the cliffhanger!!!!! CRIMINAL!!!!! I need to know what happens next IMMEDIATELY!!! 🫣😩 Overall I rly enjoyed this book & can’t wait to read the next one!! 10/10 would def recommend & will def be reading again!! 🥰😆
Thank you so much for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book!! I had a great time reading it & cant wait to read more books by this author!! 🥰💖
Some of my Favourite Quotes from the book 🤭:
‘Leyla, let me make one thing very clear. I want you— your fears, your anxieties, your happiness — you. There is nowhere else in this world that I’d rather be than right here.’ - Cameron
‘You don’t have to exist in your pain alone, okay? I’m here because I want to be here. I want to be around you, spend time with you, and learn all about you. You are magnificent. You’re so fucking smart, funny and brave… Being with you is the most alive I’ve felt in years.’ - Cameron
‘You can run, scream, and push me away all you want, Cherry; but I promise you that I will stop at nothing to prove you are mine.’ - Cameron
‘I am so fucking into this woman, and she doesn’t even know the extent of it. I wonder if it would terrify her.’ - Cameron
This debut dark romance is spicy, fast paced and most certainly dark! Be sure to read through he trigger warnings before going forward but if you're like me...trigger warnings are an invitation haha. Leyla and Cameron have dark pasts, that have shaped them into who they are today. But Leyla has repressed memories from her past, of which she learns about later on, learning of the dark and dangerous world she grew up in. What will happen when Leyla and Cameron catch the attention of the Whispering Killer? The ending is quite shocking and you are left on a cliff hanger!
Cameron and Leyla, aka "Cherry," have a history that brings them full circle years later, reigniting an unspoken connection. And once that fire is lit... It’s deliciously spicy. The way Cameron worships the ground Leyla walks on from the very beginning? That’s what book boyfriends are all about.
That detective? I’m wondering what’s going on there. I think there’s more than meets the eye in this book. It’s a fast-paced story with all the elements to keep you guessing. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Mae threw in another twist that made me rethink everything. The characters, the plot, the chaos, it’s all so good. And the POV of the Whispering K*ll*r was fascinating. It was so intriguing to see what they were doing during the other POVs.
Mae, what a way to knock it out of the park for your debut! The theories you’ll have us all forming... I need to know if any of mine are even remotely close. Don’t you dare start with your “hmmm.”
I want to say so much more, but honestly, this is the kind of story you want to go into blind. Let it unfold, every crazy, interesting page. Let yourself form your own theories and watch these flawed characters become more than just victims of their circumstances.
I promise you’ll enjoy the ride, right up to that evil cliffhanger she hits us with! I know, I know... torture!
3.2 ⭐️ For a dark romance, I didn't quite feel it was very dark. Yes the story was about murder, but it didn’t get really dark until the second half. It felt more of a thriller almost. I really wanted to like this one, and the characters are well written, however I think due to the book length it feels rushed. Especially their relationship. I would like to have more character building or lore for each character to really know them, like the detective. I think with more story and details added this would have kept me on the edge of my seat, however it felt like it was lacking back story build up. I do look forward to the next book after that cliff hanger!

DNF at chapter 5. The plot felt predictable and like it had already been done before, and the writing was just not very good at all. Also, why was there SO much cursing? I think I read 16 “fucks” on one page 😭
I really wanted to like this, however the structure of both the story and sentences were choppy. I found the “obsessed MMC” to be borderline normal. The FMC was pretty good, but I just couldn’t get past structure.
Thank you to Mae Roberts for allowing me to be one of your ARC readers and receiving an advanced copy of your book in exchange for an honest review.
Mae Roberts' The Moments You Miss is a dark romance. Please read the trigger/content warnings and determine if you are fine with them before proceeding with the story.
Leyla (nickname Cherry) and Cameron have known each other since they were young ever since meeting in trauma group therapy. They’ve lost touch with each other until one day they bump into each other back in their hometown. The attraction they had for each other when they were younger never disappeared after all this time. They rekindle their friendship, and soon they enter a relationship where they fall for the other, hard. But soon the past comes to haunt them both. The Whispering Killer, who murdered Leyla’s parents and has evaded capture, is back at it again. Cameron seems to be everything that Leyla needs during these traumatic times, but he has secrets of his own, and is doing everything he can to keep it buried deep. Also, the detective who dealt with these cases never stopped investigating. No one is safe from the Whispering Killer.
Readers embark on a journey as we explore the budding romance between two childhood friends while trying to figure out who is behind everything. The story grips you and takes you on a wild car ride as we explore psychological trauma, romance, suspense, and mystery in Mae Robert’s debut novel. Everyone is a suspect, and when you think you have something figured out, another twist comes your way. Certain aspects of the story reminded me of Haunting/Hunting Adeline. The POVs between Leyla and Cameron were great, but I especially loved the Whispering Killer’s POV. The dialogue between Leyla and Cameron was well written, but what kept me glued to the story was how they were understanding of each other’s trauma and was physically, emotionally, and psychologically present for the other without letting the other feel down. When the world turns upside down and you have no idea what is real, having someone there to ground you and bring you back to reality makes a difference.
Title: The Moments You Miss: The Whispering Duology (Book 1) Author: Mae Roberts Genre: Dark Romance Pages: 283
Rating: 5⭐️/5
“October 21st, what a great fucking day for someone to die.”
Leyla “Cherry” Clarkson and Cameron Curtis met as teens in group therapy, both placed in foster care after surviving unimaginable loss. Their bond was quiet—Leyla, withdrawn after witnessing her parents’ brutal murder, and Cameron, hardened by his mother’s death and years of abuse. Eight years later, Leyla returns to her hometown chasing a new lead in her parents’ unsolved case—just as the anonymous red roses reappear. When she crosses paths with Cameron again, the connection is instant. She doesn’t remember saving him, but he’s never forgotten—and now he’s ready to protect her at any cost. But the Whispering Killer is still out there, watching, waiting. As memories resurface and secrets unravel, the truth proves darker than either of them ever imagined.
Wow—just, WOW. From the powerful prologue to the final jaw-dropping twist, THE MOMENTS YOU MISS had me hooked. Leyla and Cameron’s connection is raw, intense, and beautifully messy, rooted in shared trauma from childhood and shaped by years of distance and silent longing. Cameron? Down bad from the beginning, and I loved every second of his fierce loyalty and devotion. The emotional weight never takes a backseat to the romance or spice—instead, it deepens every scene. The plot is a psychological rollercoaster packed with grief, obsession, repressed memories, and the ever-creeping presence of the Whispering Killer, whose POV is as chilling as it is fascinating. The writing is sharp and fast-paced, the worldbuilding layered and gripping, and the twists? Constant. Hazel and Zack added richness as side characters, and I’m already craving their story. That final twist was criminal, and the cliffhanger left me breathless. SOLID 5⭐️, a total MASTERPIECE—I’m keeping my eARC forever and counting the days until book two!
A big thanks to Mae Roberts for providing me with a digital ARC of this book!

I’m always drawn to stories that make you think, that keep you guessing, and this book did exactly that.
It’s dark, emotional, and has this unsettling romantic pull that somehow just works. The mystery and thriller theme really give it that edge. From the very start, I could feel the tension — in the story, in the characters, in the quiet eerie moments that built up to something more.
The romance between Cameron and Leyla is intense, but not in a cringey way. They’ve known each other since childhood, and the bond they have is something — it’s about being seen and known for who you really are, darkness and all. Cameron was already sure about Leyla at 16 — like, fully in love, obsessed, ride-or-die. And Leyla? She found peace in him, in a way she couldn’t explain.
There’s violence and darkness here too, especially with the whole “Whispering Killer” thing 😉 The characters are flawed, messy, and deeply affected by their past — and that’s what makes them feel human. The story explores how trauma can shape people in ways they can’t always control, and I really appreciated how that was shown.
For a debut, this one really delivered. The pacing is solid, the tension builds well, and just when you think you’re about to get answers… nope. Cliffhanger city! But in the best way. I seriously need book 2, like right now!!
I’d definitely recommend this to readers who love a mix of dark romance and psychological mystery/thriller vibe. A little twisted, but worth diving into. Some parts felt a little repetitive when it came to the romantic thoughts, but the overall story made it totally worth it.
P.S. Highlight that DEDICATION 😏 it says something....
Thank you so much for the amazing opportunity to read this eARC and for my DMs while I read it! I cannot get enough of this book!

The moment I read the blurb I already knew I'd like it. It actually surpassed my liking it and fell straight into loving it. Literally the simple fact of Good Boy/Girl was SWOON WORTHY FOR ME. This world is rife with trauma and our characters are no exception. The world is unkind to many, and this book sheds light on some of that I feel. Our FMC Leyla was just a child when her parents were murdered, leaving her all alone in the world and put into foster care. Upon moving back to her hometown where it all began... Roses being left, running into childhood friend Cameron who's just as lost and hurt as she is, her friendship with amazing best friend Hazel. Follow her journey and learn about the secrets, the lies, and everything in between.... Including the steamy moments that will make you melt when you see things like "now be a good boy and stay still for me." or "what a good girl, waiting for me like I told you to." I cannot wait for the next book! Hands down also is going straight on my shelf ASAP! Did I mention that there was a serial killer on the loose? No, yeah well there's that too. Join the drama, the mystery, and pry apart the secrets to uncover the truth of what lies deep within and see what you learn alongside our duo.
Thank you Mae Roberts for an advanced copy of this book!
If you were into the show Dexter, or you read Her Saint/His Sinner duet by Harmony West, Butcher and Blackbird by Brynne Weaver, or Pretty Monster by Sheridan Anne, then you'll vibe with this read! This is book 1 of a duology so it does end on a nail biting cliffhanger!!!
Very fast paced! Cameron falls first and hella hard, but Leyla falls fast and just as hard as he does! These two have crazy pasts that are shockingly intertwined. Leyla's missing some of her memories (the trauma block is real) and is now remembering some of the holes in her past. Cameron doesn't want to lose her and has to deal with his past and how it may change Leyla's feelings towards him.
So, I love the premise and the plot, I think this is an amazing story and has sooooo much good stuff that I love! My low rating is because I feel that some parts of the character development and story need a bit more development. Some emotions felt very 1D/2D (don't ask me what that means, idk either, it just fits 😂). Some scenes also seemed to shift one way or another rather quickly and same with the emotions of the scene.
That being said, it was a fun read! Loved seeing how much of a Golden Retriever Cameron is! He's the best and so adorable!
The spice! It started early but there wasn't anything after the first two scenes until near the end, where we get another 2 scenes. They're relatively short, definately open door, but not like an excessive amount of pages, maybe 3-4 pages per scene.
✨ I've just finished The Moments You Miss, by Mae Roberts, and I ended it with my heart squeezing - I'm looking forward to the next volume! ⠀ Leyla and Cameron are two souls marked by trauma, pain and inner demons that need to be faced. They met as children in a therapy group and became friends... but life drove them apart. Years later, they meet again by chance and resume the connection they had - now even more intense, profound and breathtaking. ⠀ They find the shelter they so desperately need in each other. It's Cameron who helps Leyla breathe during her panic attacks. It's Leyla who rescues him from his traumatic visions and fits of rage. And the chemistry between the two? It makes you blush. ⠀ The story is full of secrets, mysterious notes left at home, tension, anxiety, panic attacks, and a plot that grips you with exciting twists and turns. ⠀ I loved the way they complemented each other. I suffered with them, I vibrated with them... and when I got to the end, I was shocked - because it doesn't end! Many questions were left hanging in the air and now I can only wait, desperately, for the sequel. ⠀ 💔 An intense, addictive read that left me emotionally drained (in the best sense).
THE MOMENTS YOU MISS is Book 1 of the Whispering Killers Duology — and whew, buckle up. 😮💨💀
Leyla (aka Cherry) and Cameron met as teens in trauma group therapy (yeah, it’s as heavy as it sounds). Years later, fate throws them back together, and that spark? Still burning hot. ❤️🔥 Their reunion turns into a deep, emotional love story… until the Whispering Killer — the monster who murdered Leyla’s parents — comes back to play. 👀
Fast-paced. Twisty. Absolutely unputdownable. Just when I thought I had it figured out, Mae said “plot twist!” and flipped the whole story on its head. 🤯
Also, that detective? Suspicious and probably hiding something. 👀
🎧 Narrated by Lila Winters & Gabriel Michael — 10/10 chemistry, pure 🔥 Can’t wait for Book 2 — I need answers! 😭📖

"October 21st, what a great f***ing day for someone to d**."
I'm not sure that it is, but that's definitely an opener for a book.
Leyla (aka Cherry) and Cameron are childhood friends, both experiencing grief and trauma from parental deaths. Leyla leaves their hometown only to return years later to solve her parents' murder. When she runs into Cameron again, the attraction is instant. Cameron has never forgotten Leyla. The Whispering Killer is still lurking about, and strange things keep happening. It's gritty but electric at the same time.
The suspense and mystery are as instantaneous as their attraction to one another. I loved how many twists and turns there were in this book. It's a fast-paced page turner, that per usual, had it not been for work, I would have had this finished in a day.
As always, read your trigger warnings and please note that this book no. 1 in a duology so this does end on a cliffhanger. You've been warned!

First off, I want to thank the beautiful author for the opportunity to read her gorgeous book!
The Moments You Miss is something you don’t want to miss! It had me hooked at every twist and turn. Every word. Every feeling.
Featuring an intriguing trigger warning page, this is a book for those who love a twisted story. An ending that just has you craving more.
Leyla finds love, lust and so much more in the hands of someone so alluring, obsessed, and utterly twisted in his own way. Cameron, fucking, Curtis.
And Cameron? He finds the girl he’s sought after for years. His very obsession. His reason for doing what he does. His reason for the breath he takes. With a sickening twist of fate, she’s almost lost to him forever. Once’s she’s found, he makes certain he never goes without her again.
I truly do not have enough words, tears, or screams for how much I loved this book. I will definitely be reading the next book in this twisted and obsessive piece of art!
In the loving words plenty of the characters both speak, think and scream in ecstasy.
“Fuck.”

Back story…I receive the ARC for this book about the time I found out my last living grandparent was on the way out of this world. So I was slow to start reading it. But it was there waiting for me to get me thru the dark thoughts. And I will always have a special place in my heart for this book (and the community I found along with it) because of it.
Now on to thoughts about this book!!!
Holy freaking crap this was a wild rollercoaster ride. And I’m not ready to get off! Biggest case of who done it!! Only thing I actually saw coming was Simon being creepy. And kinda got a hint about cams dad. Still tho I didn’t expect leyla to turn out like she did. But I LOVE HER AND CAM TOGETHER SO PERF!!! Cliffhanger was expected only cuz of the ARC group chat I knew something major was gunna happen. I don’t believe they’re dead tho. Nope. Not me. Team not dead like Z said. Also need more Z bad bad. This book was nothing like I expected and more than I could have asked for. Great job Mae !!! Thank you for allowing me to pre-ride this wild ride!!!

Thank you to Mae Robert’s for an eARC of this book! The thoughts expressed in this review are my honest opinion.
There is a content/trigger warning list at the beginning of book- please refer to that before reading.
This book was a little bit outside of my usual genres, but I absolutely devoured it! Life got in the way of being able to finish it as quickly as I was wanting to, but I kept wanting to pick it up, even when I couldn’t, which is always a good sign!
Both main characters have dark pasts, and I loved seeing them both approach and deal with those pasts in their own ways (while still having support from each other). Part of the mystery in this book involves memories being uncovered, and I loved getting bits and pieces of a specific memory from different POVs throughout the book. This book has a great ratio of mystery, thriller, and romance in it!
I loved having multiple POVs! While some of my favorite books are single POVs, I just think having multiple POVs adds more depth sometimes to a story. This one ends on a BIG cliffhanger, and I am excited for book 2!
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to read this book as an ARC reader. I could not put this book down. I needed to know everything and uncover the secrets of Leyla’s past. The addition of a serial killer’s pov put the cherry on top for me for this book. I feel as readers we never get to see a villains point of view that often and I can’t wait for book two. I turned the page hoping for more and I was hit with “The End”, when I tell you I wanted to rage for being left on that cliff hanger! I am counting down the days until we get an announcement for book two! MAE HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME!
Also, the romance in this book did not feel forced. The pacing felt normal for characters who have known eachother since childhood. It’s like that friend you haven’t talked to in months where when you see them again you can pick up where you left off except this guy is a 6 foot gorgeous Adonis (thank you for that Mae).
I highly encourage everyone to read this book and enter this world of serial killers you will not be disappointed.
What in the name of all the unhinged dark romances did I just read?! This is a *debut*?
Okay…deep breaths. So this book is about a couple with a past that is far more entwined than she realises. After a traumatic childhood, our couple reunites and falls in love. Awww. I love a good childhood friends to lovers story!
Except…there’s more to it than that. He has been borderline obsessed with her since they first met and has been devoted to her safety. But it turns out his love is being stalked as roses are left for her on the anniversary of her parents’ death. Can he protect her and keep her love at the same time?
Truly, this book was gripping. It kept me guessing the whole way through. This is the first book in a duet and it ends on a cliffhanger, so I’ll have to wait to have my suspicions confirmed or denied. It is 100% doors open/unhinged and there are some significant triggers that will make it inappropriate for some readers.
If you’re looking for a new dark romance to get stuck into, this is your sign to add this book to your TBR.
When the book starts with a jaw dropping dedication of “To the ones who love fucked up shit but still love that Happily Ever After. This isn’t that book. Everyone dies.“ 🫢 you know it’s going to be good. To say, Leyla had a rough childhood would be an understatement. We get to follow her journey as she reunites with an old friend from group therapy, who happens to be head over heels in love with her and has been for quite some time. Cameron has some questionable hobbies in the time that they were apart, but now that they’re reunited, Leyla gets to join in on the journey. I love the golden retriever yet protective side of Cameron that we got to see. The Moments You Miss is a good read that I personally would classify more as a thriller romance, than a dark romance. But if you enjoy watching the show Dexter, then you need to go grab you a copy of Mae Roberts new book. The Moments You Miss kept me on my toes with all the twists and turns. Every time I thought I had it figured out, we got another breadcrumb that left me with more questions than answers.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Grim. Gritty. Obsessively readable. The Moments You Miss is the kind of book that slams into your chest and lingers like smoke in your lungs.
"In "The Moments You Miss" by Mae Roberts, we follow Leyla and Cameron, two childhood friends reunited in the eerie Maplewoods. Haunted by a tragic past and the mysterious "Whispering Killer," they uncover dark secrets about their families and themselves. As they navigate a twisted legacy of crime and redemption, love and danger intertwine, leading to a shocking and suspenseful cliffhanger that will leave you craving more."
The morally gray main characters
The slow unraveling of trust, trauma, and power
And a darkness that never pretends to be anything else
If you love: ✔️ Antiheroes ✔️ Trauma bonding ✔️ Gritty vengeance ✔️ Unforgiving justice ✔️ Twisted emotional connection
Then this book is going to destroy you—in the best way.
The Moments You Miss is a thrilling, suspenseful read. Leyla has a very tragic past having witnessed her parents murder as a child. She's placed with a family and where she meets Cameron. Cameron also has a very dark past, with his father being an unaliver. Leyla and Cameron become close friends but end up separating. Years later, when she moves bock to her home town, she meets Cameron and again and they hit it off! But the Whispering Killer who took Leyla's parents, is back, leaving her little "gifts". Leyla also some repressed memories of what happened and what she witnessed when her parents were killed, but these memories are resurfacing and her and Cameron's past may be intertwined. The story is well written and keeps you flipping the pages. I enjoyed Leyla and Cameron's connection. This story ends on a cliffhanger and I was thrown for a loop there because,..... what??? I can't wait for book 2.
This was a debut novel?! Miss Mae Roberts.. this was phenomenal!! I listened to this in one sitting. 😍😍
I had such a good time with this storyline and the audio was so so good! This is 100% worth your time if you’re into thrillers, dark romance, stalkers, serial killers… and honestly, so much more!
I loved the characters and the writing was excellent. The pacing and flow of everything was done so well, and just when you thought you had things figured out.. Mae will throw a wrench at you like it’s dodgeball. 😂
Then the ending?! 🥴 I need book two nowwwwww, because what do you mean that’s how we’re left off?!?! 😮💨
Anywhoozers, Gabriel and Lila are very new to me narrators, and them narrating together on this audio (in dual, not duet) was what made this such a fun ride! Their voices really gave this the life it deserves and it’s an absolute must for spooky season!!
Highly recommend giving this a chance, I don’t think it’s one you’ll regret! 🖤
What?!? I didn’t see that cliffhanger coming! Now i am a bit of mess, i need to know! That ending! I… I need a minute here So that plot twist, i didn’t see that coming either This book absolutely suprised me more than one time, honestly who writes like this! How did this happen, i am so speechless, i can’t seem to focus on anything at this moment Loved the main characters! There is a lot of trauma but seriously that plot tiwst! C’moon! How… What.. What can i write when my head is all over the place So this is a good book when it leaves me speechless and i can’t seem to focus on words Oh there is spice and violence, wich we all know by know that i do love a lot I am so bad at writing right now but i really need to talk about this with someone, so please dm if you have read this, thank you very much!
The Moments You Miss by Mae Roberts is a dark thriller romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Gabriel Michael and Lila Winters. This is the first book in The Whispering Series.
This is Mae's debut novel, and she gained a fan! I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't help but binge the book in one sitting. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Leyla and Cameron. I loved getting Cameron, Leyla, The Whispering Killer, and Zack's points of views throughout the book.
The book ended on a great cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't for the next book.
Gabriel and Lila did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you're looking for a dark romance, thriller romance, or a second chance romance.
The Moments You Miss is a debut, dark romance that will take you on a wild ride. This is a dark romance with some crazy twists and turns. It is a psychological thriller, and the end will leave you shaken.
Leyla and Cameron met when they were younger in group therapy for their traumatic childhoods. Leyla's parents were murdered by the whispering killer, and Cameron dealt with a lot of abuse. They reconnect eight years later and immediately fall into a relationship, but danger lurks around every corner. Leyla has a stalker and the whispering killer has returned.
I can't say much without giving anything away because this book takes you on a rollercoaster with all the twists and reveals. I was shocked at one reveal, and then the cliffhanger left me so frustrated. I need the next book ASAP.
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW 🎤Dual narration by Gabriel Michael & Lila Winters
This audiobook was very fast-paced and suspenseful. Gabriel Michael and Lila Winters did a great job showcasing the characters' connection and the amping up the suspense elements.
Thank you to Must Love Audio for providing the ALC.
CW: graphic violence and torture, murder, stalking, kidnapping, gore.
Wow this book left me shook. I really enjoyed the twist and turns, the love story and the obsession they have for each other. The story had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. With both of their pasts and the way they came together in the present day. Leyla and Cameron together just worked perfectly. They both have a tragic past and meet in the past at group therapy and formed a bond. It was like no time had passed when they come together again. I loved the way Cam cared for her especially when dealing with her panic attacks. The last 30 minutes of the book had my jaw dropped and I still can’t believe what I read. I need answers immediately and book 2! The audio was fantastic! Lila Winters and Gabriel Michael did such a great job!
I had the privilege for reading the arc book and I went into it blind n the things that I can say about this book because you have everything you got spice murder found family if you can say that because they was really meant to be together the moment he played eyes one her then you have stalker all wrapped in one. but the thing about this is the tragic love story or the way they became together and she don't let either of there pastes ruin there love of the future. but now they have to worry about someone else doing that for them so now they are on the run. This story is about Cameron and Leyla
