Single mother of two, Rosalyn Santanna, has finally adjusted to living in Denver after three months. The routine she has in place to manage her two kids, extracurriculars, job, and three dogs is thrown off by a text from her ex-husband. A chance encounter in a coffee shop brings her the support of a hockey player and his team, all while her life falls apart. Will she learn to accept the care from someone, even though she has never received it before? Will she choose to stay instead of running when things get complicated?
Ten years into professional hockey, and five years into a no-woman rule, a chance meeting might change his plans.
Sterling Price is a defender for the Colorado Glaciers with a plan to play for three more years before retiring as a coach. He has sworn off women after a false lawsuit almost took away the only way he could keep a promise he made to himself at three years old. However, after running into a solo mom of two in his sister's coffee shop, he can't get her off his mind. He wants to show her he can support her, if she would just let him. Will he prove to her that he isn't his past? Or will the only woman who has gotten his attention since the lawsuit run out of his life forever?
The love between the two races against time, their pasts, and their fears.
Honestly I have never been in tuned with a book like I was with this one. From start to finish there was giggling, crying, then giggling again. The way Sterling cared, loved, and supported not only Rosalyn but Brynn and Ashton made me fall in love with his character. The bitter sweet moments were to die for and the really sad moments had me blowing up Brielle’s phone crying. I honestly would recommend this book to quite literally everyone I know and beyond that. Thanks Brielle for introducing me to your book!!!
As someone who is always down for a Hockey Romance, this book took a different direction than what I typically read in the best way possible. Big thanks to the author for the trigger warning page because they are absolutely necessary. The story isn’t surface level guy meets girl with some happenings, there are literal mountains of obstacles on both sides that you don’t always see with contemporary romance. It has its light and fluffy vibes but also has me crying in various places for the pain but also the love.
You not only get to see the complexity of the main relationship but feel the support between the main and side characters. I’m not one who seeks out single parent tropes but the family dynamic was so beautiful and only got better the further you went.
Congrats to this author for putting this story out there and I can’t wait to read more from this series.
