It takes years to build a hockey dynasty. It takes one forbidden romance to bring it crashing down.
In the high-stakes world of professional hockey, where tradition rules and change comes slowly, the Brooklyn Brawlers face their biggest shake-up yet. The death of their beloved owner has left the team in unprecedented hands—those of his daughters.
Ramona Kane never imagined running a hockey franchise, but her father's last wish thrusts her and her sister Juliana into the role of owners. Armed with determination but lacking experience, they face a league that wants them gone and a legacy they're desperate to protect.
With journalists and players doubting them, the only person keeping quiet is the girls' uncle, Edmund. Feeling betrayed for being passed over, Edmund orchestrates a scheme with Brawlers' playboy center, McCoy Cafferty. McCoy's mission is make Ramona fall for him, triggering the league's no fraternization rule that'll force her out of power.
But the perfect plan has one fatal McCoy fell first.
No matter the genre or time, Dominique Davis writes affectionately about unapologetic out-of-the-box women and the people who love them. From a mother-daughter con artist duo to a revenge-driven college student, there’s always something special about her characters, as she believes that all great stories should feature remarkable yet flawed female leads. Writing has been her passion since she could hold a pencil, and nowadays she divides her time between devouring books, fine-tuning manuscripts, and embracing her love for all things pop culture. You can learn more about her by checking out her website and following her on social media.
This is my second book by Dominique Davis and certainly won't be my last. I enjoy the way she builds her characters and their story background. They always have a very entertaining interactions with other characters. This story was very easy to get engaged with especially for a reader that enjoys sports. A sweet romance and a very happy ending. Who won't love this book. I highly recommend it those that understand that you may have good times and bad times in life, but that one person that stands by you through it all, that is the one you were meant to be with.
The Billion Dollar Dynasty is book 1 in the Heirs to the Throne series. This is a hockey romance with some enemies to lovers. This is my first read by this author and I was not disappointed. This story was a great read and I loved the dynamics between our MCs. This story plays with the balances of good and bad times in a person's life. Dominique did such an Amazing job with this story. I look forward to reading more of her work in the future.
This one surprised me in the best way. I went in expecting a fun hockey romance, but what really hooked me was the women empowerment woven throughout the story. Watching two women own their space, run a team, and make big decisions with confidence felt so refreshing, especially in a genre that does not always give women that level of authority.
The enemies to lovers tension was so fun, and the slow shift into something more intimate felt natural and earned. The taboo and secret romance vibes added a spark that kept me locked in, and I loved how their connection balanced heat with emotional depth. You can feel the push and pull, the frustration, and the vulnerability as they try to figure out what choosing each other actually looks like.
There were a few editing bumps that kept it from being a perfect read for me, but the heart of the story truly delivered. The chemistry, the grit, and the growth between the characters made this a really enjoyable hockey romance. I will definitely be picking up more from this author.
This story is a hockey romance, BW/WM characters. It follows two sisters who inherit their father's hockey team The Brawlers, as well as the team. A uncle who is out to steal their position for The Brawlers. People makes mistakes, but those mistakes can make or break you.
This was my first hockey romance which is surprising since I love ice hockey. I truly enjoyed this story. I was feeling all the emotions each character felt. I did not like McCoy at the beginning, but as the story went on I started to like him. Romona was my favorite. She is always there for her and stood up for what she believed in. Half way through the story I started to cheer for Romona and McCoy. But then I was all over the place, happy, mad, tensed, and hot. There was a lot of action and tension, just like you expect watching hockey in person.
There is spice but only here and there compare other romance books I read. But I feel it was just the right amount for this story and plot.
