An Anthology of the Experiences of Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Victims, Third Collection

Rate this book
This book is an English translation of the original book "An Anthology of the Experiences of Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Victims - Third collection" originally published in Japanese in July 2019. This English translation is intended to spread further the important message of peace from Hiroshima to the world. The testimonies echoed in these pages should remind everyone of the horrors of nuclear weapons and tragedy of war. The Hiroshima message to the world remains relevant to this day as we mark 75th anniversary of that infamous event.

Many people assisted with the translation of this book. In particular, High school student of Sotoku in Hiroshima (Keita Takagaki), college students and graduate students of Hiroshima University (Wakano Nakamura, Kenya Hara, Wakana Kaneda, Airi Nakama, Takuya Okuse), English teacher (Machiko Morikawa, Keiko Tsuji, Akemi Tanaka, Mao Nishimura), Yukie Miura, Eijun Sakihara, Abeleth Kochi and Vargas Villalobos Rony Jose helped with translations.

Dr. Joseph Hankins, Dr. Lawrence M. Liao and Prof. Jim Ronald also helped with editing the English. Without each people's assistance, the publication of this English translation would have been impossible. We deeply appreciate these people's valuable contribution.

We hope that this book will help people from all over the world in hearing the true voice of the Hiroshima A-bomb victims with the aim of the abolition of nuclear weapons, and the realization of a peaceful world for all.

Another great collection of accounts. You realise when reading this you so desperately want to see that a mother/brother/neighbour had survived the end of their stories, but so many did not have happy endings. Stories that shouldn't be forgotten.
