This was my first read by this author and I really enjoyed it! It’s WhyChoose, so I had to read it! The story begins with tragedy, Kenna inheriting her childhood vacation home and starting college. But, as the story unfolds Kenna uncovers her hidden magic, a few of her chosen, and a doozy of a secret that will change her life forever. This ended on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to discover more about Kenna’s chosen, what happens to her, and where this story will go! I can’t wait to see Kenna own her magic and become the badass we know she is. Definitely recommend!
This book was SOOOO GOOOD!! I loved it. Kenna is such an awesome FMC. After the tragic death of her parents she learns there is so much more to her life. She’s a magic wielding princess who is next in line for the throne. She also has some soul bonded mates, and mannn they are 🔥 and the tension is delicious. If you love werewolves and vampires and cool magic systems, why choose and sexual tension and great banter, awesome plot and pet names and swoon worthy spice YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!!!
“Kenna, I couldn’t be happier being one of your soul bonded. Your magic courses through me, vibrating when you get close to me. It knows we belong together.”
“I’m sorry, Princess. My wolf, he got... possessive. I couldn’t bear to watch another man near you. Princess, I will let no one forget you are mine.”
This book will hook you! It is fast-paced and a great read. The build-up was fantastic, and the spice was a chef's kiss! 🫦 Wait till you meet Axel and Zayne! I'm really curious about Ivan and Unknown. Kenna is a great character, and she does go through a lot. I love that she has B. The book does end on a cliffhanger. (Julia, I NEED the second book!) If you like, why choose, with a twist and magic, this would be a great book for you!
I have not been able to find a Paranormal Romance that i can get invested in and this one pulled me in from the very start! I absolutely loved this book! Fell in love with Zayne from the very beginning. I really like Axel too. He's so sweet to Kenna. Ivan I'm on the fence about tho. I can't decide if he's good or bad. This does end on a cliffhanger so be aware of that. I highly recommend reading this book! Happy Reading Everyone!
Vampires. Werewolves. A princess that doesn't know she's a princess. Sexy scenes. What more could you ask for? This story had me wanting more. I couldn't put the book down. So ready for book 2.

This is a great start for a debuting indie author entering the realm of paranormal romance. Starts off tragic and quickly picks up where the FMC learns of her identity, soul bounding mates, and enemies. The ending is a major cliffhanger that leaves you with anticipation for the next book.
This is a fast paced read that doesn’t leave you disappointed.
Amazing debut book. I honestly couldn’t put it down and I am absolutely dying for book two after being left on that cliffhanger! I can’t wait to see how the rest of the series unfolds.
I freaking love the concept of this book. Bonded books are the best, there needs to be more of it. I love the idea and premise of this book, college setting, multiple supernatural men drawn to this shy girl who doesn’t know who she is. Bonded to men who are there to destroy her yet that’s the last thing they want to do. I feel like this book has so much promise so much that I joined the street team. I do however wish there was more to this book at times. Examples below. I feel with some tweaks, this could be a hit. The author has a great start and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. Keep up the amazing work!
The beginning is a bit too fast in my opinion. It’s literally, had a party, parents died, go back home, get a job and then literally start school. I would have liked better transition and flow, more of a background, how long had it been since she’s been home, more time recollecting memories in the home, her walking around the town, I would have liked to get a better visualization. Again each chapter is so fast, she meets a friend and they chat on their way to class, what do they chat about? Idk. This would be perfect opportunity to get to know said friend, then they get to class and she stares at the handsome teacher the whole time. Then she meets axel and they dance…that’s it. This is the perfect opportunity for spark, literally and figuratively. The way he looks at her, how she feels holding him, how they glide across the floor, feeling like no one is there but them. Flirting, idk something. Haha. It’s pretty much a novella given the length so I understand you can only pack so much in it.
Awaken by Julia Wyld is a captivating blend of dark fantasy, romance, and self-discovery. The story follows Kenna, a young woman grappling with the tragic murder of her parents. Seeking solace, she returns to her childhood vacation spot, only to uncover hidden magical abilities and a destiny intertwined with multiple soul-bonded mates and a royal legacy. Wyld masterfully weaves elements of magic, fate, and romance, creating a world where love and power collide. The slow-burn romance and the exploration of Kenna's relationships with her mates add depth to the narrative, making it a compelling read for fans of reverse harem and paranormal romance genres. The pacing is steady, allowing for character development and world-building, though some readers may find the buildup slow. The cliffhanger ending leaves readers eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series. Overall, Awaken is a promising start to the Soul Bonded series, offering a rich tapestry of magic, mystery, and romance. Fans of dark fantasy and reverse harem tropes will find much to enjoy in this tale of destiny and desire.
I received an ARC copy and this is my honest review
Okay first, I was super excited to read this book. I met the author at a romance book event in Seattle. The book sounds amazing. First I feel like the first part of the book should have been a flash back. I think the book should have started with her at the school. I just feel like the beginning was explained kind of weird to me. The wonderful thing about this book is the amount of detail in it. It’s a small book so I definitely wasn’t expecting that at all. However, there’s so much background details about the 3 men that are her love interests missing. I was so confused and honestly it read like it was the same character even though there are three of them. I definitely needed just a smidge more back story on the guys, or even the magic world they come from. The beginning even could have been a little story about where she came from and what happened when she was adopted. It just felt clunky to me unfortunately. I like the idea of the story though. I have the second book which I am starting right now :)

The premise behind the story is that Kenna loses her parents tragically, and she returns to a childhood vacation home to live and go to college. And there are so many things she doesn't realize are about to happen in her world. She's surrounded by vague men that keep appearing in her life, and she feels some sort of pull toward each one of them but can't understand why.
And then something happens that forces her to come to terms with who she really is and what is really going on! The pacing of this book is so quick, it feels like you are watching a movie as it flows from scene to scene. The story was always developing, all the way through. The ending of the book had me impatiently awaking Book 2!
