I really loved everything about this story from start to finish. I couldn't put it down and spent my whole day off reading it! There was truly a great message about life, and how each one of us has such limited time and how we have to make the most of it. A beautiful story with lots of hidden meaning!

Very nice read

Very nice read

I'm no writer and certainly have no skills for it either. I just like reading. I'm not sure if I am able to explain the 4 star rating. I would've enjoyed this read it and longer and the character development and slower and a few layers deeper. The characters were very interesting and I enjoyed learning about each character and how they became who they were and how inevitably they related to each other. The storyline was marvelous. The characters are so interesting that I really wanted more story on them. the book was so fun that I wanted more complexity I wanted the story to be longer so I guess what I'm saying is that it was a great read but I wanted more.

I liked this story. I was engaged from the first chapter and each new character was compelling enough to keep me going to read it all in one sitting. I was really disappointed that ended where it did- not because the story wasn't complete at that point but because I saw the potential for so much more. This easily could have been a longer novel with a more involved story.

I thought it was quite good - a nice bonus that I got it for free via Amazon.

I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. It could have been longer and I would have loved to keep reading more. The action really moves along at a good clip and kept me glued, making it difficult to put this book down. The characters were intriguing and I was really drawn into each of their stories, fascinated by where exactly the author was heading. Again, just wish it was longer!

Any book that can bring together murder, mental health and a bit of paranormal activity is at least something that I want to check out. I feel that the author has managed to write a fascinating and captivating mystery and I look forward to reading what comes next from Cory Toth.

This was a really cool story with a lot of meaning throughout. It really sucked me in with the first few chapters. The way everything came together at the end made for a finish I didn't see coming. I wish it had been longer, but I guess that is the sign of a good read.

This was a great find in the suspense/thriller/mystery genre and I'm glad the cover caught my attention. It was difficult to put down this book, so fortunately it wasn't too long! I already read it a second time and enjoyed it more....I missed so much detail the first time around. I recommend it.

Great story, great writing. I thought the ending was really spectacular and it wasn't something I ever predicted. A very fun thrill ride with some delightfully damaged characters.

I highly recommend it. A great short read (about 290 pages). Just don't read it too fast, because you'll miss a lot.

"Firefly" is an imaginative and gripping mystery novel that manages to feel refreshingly original in an intriguing way. Cory Toth has a clear gift for storytelling as readers are sucked up into this unusual suspenseful tale of a young man with gifts like no other, but with a tumultuous and intense connection to murders that plague the area. As the mystery unfolds and the characters find themselves swept up in drama, intrigue, adventure and danger that is as entertaining as it is engaging.

The author skillfully weaves the story with vivid imagery, authentic characters, strong dialogue and a well-paced plot. The novel runs a gamut of emotions that leave the reader eagerly flipping from one page to the next as a connection is forged between the characters and the reader. This is vibrant storytelling that uses suspenseful drama, paranormal/supernatural tones and a clear aim to entertain to create a memorable tale, one that I couldn't put down once I started. Overall, I had a great time reading this and it left me eager to read more from Cory Toth.

The book starts bluntly with an attempted suicide – and this really caught my attention, making me wonder what is Firefly really about. I am not sorry at all I decided to continue with my read, as detective Carter’s investigations on a series of mysterious murders mix so well with the silent patient that Bethany feels she needs to help out, as the author elegantly jumps between Carter and Bethany’s adventures – managing to build quite a fascinating and captivating mystery novel. This is one of the mystery novels I can recommend for readers passionate of the kind, as the book kept me turning pages until its end.

Interesting storyline, however writing was choppy and unorganized. It really seemed to be the writing of an ammatuer. I knew I was in for this when there was an accuracy issue in the first 8 pages. The main character was driving an original '57 Chevy and that was supposedly equipped with lap and shoulder seat belts. Really? Do your research Mr. Toth....

A non-stop thriller from start to finish. This book had a totally unique way of telling a story, although the ending left me wanting more. I guess I wish I could have gotten to know the characters better. Still, freaking awesome.

Very well written story. Could have been longer and the characters could have been more developed, but I get it...it's just this author's style. And I definitely like it! Despite the minor flaws it was a really good story.

There were a few problems with this one for me, and it still managed to blow me away. I could not put this down---I have a very short attention span and I'm impressed that it held my interest so well.

Don't know what to do with this story. It's pretty depressing but it drew me in and I wanted to see what was going to happen. For me it was a good read except I thought the end was confusing. It was so fast at the end I had to re read it several times and still don't quite get it

Boring....not a bad writer but I feel like it had a lot of promise and the start was good and it just lead into nothing...predictable and, well, boring.

A very enjoyable story. It was written fairly lightly, but it made for a quick, intense read. Every chapter builds the intrigue and mystery. That's what a book like this is all about for me.

I found this book to be poorly written. The characters are two-dimensional, and the grammar and word choice are poor. I was sorry I wasted my time and money on this one.

Good, Expected More

I was a little disappointed in this book after reading Paper Dolls. I was expecting the same on the edge couldn't put it down type read. The story starts out with a bang of suspense and as I got further in I got a little bored. The character's I thought were interesting but the story just didn't grab me. I thought it had sad and happy, sensitive and emotional parts but I was really disappointed in the way it ended. I really like this Author and I will choose another of his books to see if he can thrill me again !

Great read. Ending sucked only because he died which was actually the purpose for his life in a twisted sort of way.
