Safe from home
Contemporary, reverse harem, most 18, evil parents, abusive childhoods. Spoilers in review:
First, I love the cover of this kindle edition. The inside, though, really needs a lot of work. Most obvious are the myriad grammar, spelling, punctuation and misused words that mar this work. Next, the plot. Ok I have no problem with a trope filled story, they're comfortable. But, this story took all the tropes, shook them up in a mason jar, and spewed them throughout. The abused daughter of an evil man is rescued by a group of friends, one who she knew when she was younger. They slowly delve into a rh relationship, all ok. But, come on, make it somewhat believable. The father murdered his son, in front of her, 3 years ago. She tells the police, but he finds her, beats her half to death, then runs away with her, changing her name and they hide out in the Australian countryside. Nobody follows up on the murder? He beats her daily, while she goes to high school and all the students physically bully her (for no reason). Then the childhood friend has managed to make friends with the sons of a gang leader and crooked attorney, and others. She, it turns out, was also friends with a rh group of grey special agents and their gang leader daughter love. She meets her potential harem and hides from her father on the very next property over. IDK maybe Australia is just that spread out, but she can see the house from her new house. The entire first hundred pages needs a re write. The premise is shaky and the dialogue is juvenile and cringy. It gets better, or I just got used to it. Of course it ends on a predictable cliff hanger where she is kidnapped just after reaching safety. This could be a decent, obviously tropy, rh if the plot was refined, and the book edited.
