Omega Lost

I had a dream life as an omega. My pack was perfect and I was happy.

Until they found their scent match.

There was no room for an unwanted omega and they sent me to the reassignment center where they thought I'd quickly find a new pack. That's not what happened.

Rejected omegas don't deserve a good pack. They either get the low-class packs that don't have prestige, or they go to the heat dens to spend their lives on their backs.

After nine months in the center and heat dens, I'll take any pack, even if they have a reputation for being outside the law. But while they think I'm their scent match, I'll never give my heart away again.

Omega Lost is a standalone dark omegaverse book that contains adult themes and is suitable for 18+. It has a HEA with multiple love interests.

Three stars for the angst in the beginning. I cried a few times!

One star for the ridiculous h with selective hearing who would rather run to one of the places that was a source of trauma instead of just talking to her freaking mates.

I was kind of annoyed that the scent matched mate bond didn’t seem to be as all encompassing for the h and her mates as it was for her previous pack. I wanted to see that same passion but I guess her alphas are strong enough to “fight” it until she’s ready. Gah.

This book is exactly why i can’t with traumatized and jaded hs

Overall: 2.5

This actually started out really good and I was really enjoying the story. It moved quickly, and things obviously aren't drawn out as it's more of a short novella, but I was really enjoying the story, and it was on the way to being a 4-5⭐️ read!

The ending kinda ruined it for me though. Her running back to the heat dens and actually being there for three weeks? Boo. And then she decides to go back at the drop of a hat? Like barely any convincing or convo. And then Zeke's reasoning, it was just all kinda sloppy and gave me an ick and it made the story just fall off for me.

The premise was good, the execution... not so much. Idk it felt kinda bland and empty. The story moved pretty fast, which isn't a bad thing, but there was no depth to the characters or their relationships. Also the unnecessary third act breakup and its really quick and strange resolution? Nah

Bonded omega gets ousted from her bonded pack by a scent match and then experiences TRAUMA.

Overall reco: Overall, it was a read, not amazing and not so bad that I needed to lambast and pick apart every plot hole and issue. I picked it up because I saw a blurp on tiktok that made my heart hurt and was in the mood for some pain. It delivered pretty well on that, I was writhing right along with the FMC in the first whole section of the book. At under 200 pages it felt like a good length and an interesting read, nothing to rush off to write about but also not disappointing.

Plot: 2/5
Spice: 3/5
Characters: 2/5

(The Good)
If you need a short little trauma book, this is pretty great. I really felt for Melody during the low parts of her story. It was easy to hate her first pack, easy to love her second. I was made at the world for Melody, which is kind of the point and overall I needed something to stab at my heart and this did it.

(The Bad)
It was short, and this moved quickly. Which isn't really that bad per say, but we still managed to fit in a which is frustrating. It felt like there were no consequences for anything in the world, except for Melody and the other omegas. Which is guess was kind of the point I guess. The spice felt a little bland? My spice meter is kind of broken and this was probably more of a 2.5, but with multiple men I couldn't drop it lower. The erotica felt on par with the story, "OK"

Tropes:

When I saw a tiktok for this book I immidealty knew I had to read this, it sounded SO good and it did not dissapoint me.

This book is about Melody, who at the start of the book is happily living with her chosen pack. But then the unthinkable happens, when they are out they met their scent mate. Her pack says they don't want to lose her and they will make it work and keep both mates. But goes brutally wrong when both mates get their heat at the same time and chose their scent mate over her. She is sent to a reassignment center, where she after nine awfull long months decides to get with another pack. Her new pack tries to help her and show her how much she will be cared for, but Melody struggles with abandonment issues, that this pack to will leave her but the only difference is that this pack is her scent match and really want to make this work. Will Melody let them in and take care of her or is she not able to let go off her past and lose what she really wants and deserves?.

I really loved this book, I saw lots of reviews that did not really like the story and I can she why some people might not like some parts of the story, but overall I just really enjoyed it!. Seeing Melody be cared for after what her other pack did just really warmed my hard, especially after the start of the book where I cried my eyes out. Her new pack was so sweet and caring!.

If you love the omegaverse and an angsy love romance than this book is definitely something you should give a try!.

✏️Omega Lost by C. T. Rhames🦋

This was super fast paced, dropped you in straight at the beginning which was exactly what I was looking for. This was a whole rollercoaster of feelings and I cannot believe they did that to the FMC!!

It starts out with our FMC being introduced, she is an omega (perfect one) and is bonded to a pack that one of the members (Jack) is her childhood friends but when they are out one night they find their scent match and it evolves from there (no spoilers here).

Our FMC battles with mental health from the old pack and her time at the “reconditioning” institution which I would like some words with who runs that 🤣

This was honestly just a fun time and I really enjoyed it!

Angst = h is rejected, brutally by her pack when the pack finds their "scent" match. h's life spirals down from there and it is tragic. h gets a new pack assigned to her. the pack is considered lower class due to some of the members having a criminal past and the h is considered a substandard omega since she had been rejected.

Grovel = due to a misunderstanding, the h believed that one of her new pack tried to give her back to her old pack. the old pack's "scent" mate ran off for better options leaving the old pack to generously consider allowing the h back into their pack. h refuses and leaves both the old and new pack. New pack has to grovel and explain the true intent for contacting the old pack. They work it out.

Omegaverse = h ends up with 4 Alphas and 1 Beta in her new pack.

The book started so strong with such betrayal by the old pack, but it wraps up really fast with the misunderstanding between the new pack and h. Some missed struggles there that were avoided or just glossed over.

Short but sweet

I really enjoyed how this story started. I felt gutted reading the pain she was going through. You really felt her anguish through the pages.

When she was matched with her new pack, she was having a hard time feeling a bond. There was too much trauma from her past.

I felt the story was a bit rushed. The author coukd have elaborated on a lot more. I think the rushed ending is what led me to give it the rating I did. It just didn't feel natural.

I honestly can’t believe how her old pack treated her, even before the found their new omega. Then they had the audacity to want her back only because their other omega left, serves them right. She went through a lot but in the end she found her happiness. I wish there was some mention of how her book did and what it was about.

Quick easy read
This book it exactly as it reads if you’ve read ur share of omega verse
A touch childish on the fmc part as I think the reasoning to her being so sheltered
But a good quick read nonetheless

★2/5! only way this would’ve been a happy ending is if Jack and his stupid pack died. actually no i want everyone dead. then in another life Melody can be a barrister who writes books on the side.

moral of the story: men suck.

not great, not terrible

Some parts of the book are good. Character development was sudden, but much needed. Certain parts are so crude I noticed I was cringing while reading.

Omega Lost is an okay-ish read; it's very easy to read and not very lengthy, but it would work as a bit of a pallette cleanser between more taxing reads.

I feel the plot could have been interesting and holds a lot of potential that just seemed to be second thought to the need of adding some spice into the story. Talking about the spice, there was nothing original in those scenes; perhaps I've just read too many of these types of books, but it was all very basic and could have been copied from any omega-verse book to be honest.

In terms of the plot, it could have been interesting to have more of an in-depth interaction between Melody and the Orion Pack when they came back around, and there could have been some interesting dynamics to explore if we were able to see the two packs interact. I also feel like the prostitution elements were just completely brushed aside, and there was no exploration as to how those experiences influenced Mel's behaviour towards her new pack.

There seemed to be a lot of characters in the new pack who we didn't really get to know and just seemed to be there for the sake of making the second pack larger than the Orion pack. For example, what do we learn about Micah and Max? Other than Micah will take her shopping and make her buy things, and Max had a large penis that Mel wasn't sure she'd be able to handle anal with. There was very little substance given to any of the characters.

The FMC has spent a great deal of time writing a book that she started from scratch because her experiences made her believe she wasn't qualified to speak on the original topic and this seemed to be something she was really proud of. We never actually learn what she wrote her book on - it was briefly mentioned that she may possibly write about her new experinces, but there was nothing definitive - and then she said she was going to publish it, yet a year later and the only update we have is that they've built a pool and she still hasn't learned to swim. I think this takes away a piece of the FMC's character because the only thing she's been doing for herself has been working on this book, and by not providing any updates on that the author is reducing her to the standby peice of meat for when the alphas want her.

It could also do with a round of editing as, like another review mentioned, one of the character's names changed. There were also multiple spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.

I don't think I'd read again, and I'll probably just stick to the tiktok highlights from now on rather than buying the book.

I enjoyed the beginning and it certainly made me feel things when it was intense and based on the FMC trauma but I think that could of been explored more and maybe make the MMCs more caring?

I think it had alot of potential with the story line as it was interesting enough but what zeke kept doing had me and the lack of acknowledgment from the rest of them, that they let those comments sly without a batter of an eyelash was infuriating and didn’t really match up with with what there morals are meant to be aligned with. It would of been more interesting if the author didn’t rush the end and flushed out the characters more and made them more discernible from one another (especially Micah and Max) more one on one time with the FMC I think would of made their personality, mannerisms and quarks shown to the readers as well as the FMC building more on the relationship.

Also what happened to her old pack they show up randomly and we never hear about them again, aren’t they also meant to have shifter mannerisms and get insanely possessive of what’s “theirs”? I feel like the story line could of explored that more as well as her publishing a book especially after the slight time skip, it would of been cool to see it have something to do with her own growth eg her book. No saying I didn’t mind the ending but I think it would of been interesting to follow one of the other story directions she laid down previously in the book.

Omega Lost was about the Omega Melody Dasch, and the Aguilar Pack: Leader Angel, four other alphas named Zeke, Micah, Max, and Tiago, and a beta named Ari, who ran a trucking company. (No ages were given for any of the characters.)

As the story began, Melody had been with her chosen pack for three years when things took a sudden turn against her. Having gotten so caught up in a task on her tablet, Melody forgot to start dinner before her four Alphas arrived home. So they took her out to eat instead. However, as soon as the waitress walked up to take their order, her four guys changed instantly because they had suddenly found their scent mate, and she was immediately replaced with the new girl. Within a week, Amy had moved in with them, and the alphas had forgotten Melody in their newfound euphoria.

With Amy taking over Mel's nest, forcing her to use the office as a bedroom, Mel essentially became a maid in her own home while Amy became the main Omega to the four alphas. Amy wasn't at all cordial to Melody. Just a few days later, after the guys had spent that time rutting and mating with Amy, Mel asked them to take her to town so she could find a job. None of them put up a fuss about that the way they would have if she had still been important to them. But Mel felt she couldn't stand to be left at home alone with Amy while the guys worked. Their callous and insensitive attitude towards her hurt. As she looked for work, she learned she was either not qualified for the position, or the places just did not employ omegas. A month passed with Melody finding nothing and only becoming more and more distanced from the four alphas as they showered all of their attention on Amy.

When Melody mentioned to one of the alphas that it was nearly time for her heat, instead of offering to help her with it, he was upset that they hadn't gotten her started on a suppressant, which floored Mel, crushing her spirit even more. He was telling her they didn't want to mate with her anymore. When her heat hit, Amy went nearly berserk and refused to let them mate with her. Then Amy mated with them, leaving Melody to fend for herself as the painful heat took control of her. Although she screamed for her mates, they were too busy to bother with her. It wasn't for another three days before the guys even remembered her, and only then because they found her collapsed on the floor. She was in such a bad way that they had to call the doctor, who, in the process of learning what had happened, berated the four alphas.

A few days later, the pack decided it was time for Melody to leave. The alphas had chosen their new mate over her and were going to send her to a reassignment camp for rejected omegas. There she would either find a new, low-class pack (these packs were considered lower class due to their history, such as run-ins with the law, and just not being good enough to be worthy of "upper class" status)...or she would be used by men until there’s nothing left of her. That same night, she was taken to the camp. However, once inside, the woman in charge demanded to know where her pack alphas were. Upon calling them, she informed them that they had to be there in person so each alpha could sign the rejection papers. They arrived the next morning, rejected her verbally, then signed the papers. Only one of them stayed behind long enough to question what would happen to her after the rejection took effect. He was informed that she would more than likely end up in the heat dens. Upon hearing that, he was horrified because he had believed she would be instantly set up with another pack.

Two months into her stay at the camp, Melody went into heat and was sent to the heat dens to be taken care of. She was informed that since she had been given a birth control implant, she did not need to fear becoming pregnant during her heat. She endured one alpha after another for the next five days, non-stop, until her heat broke on the fifth day. This continued each time she went into heat.

When she went before the woman in charge of the camp a second time, she was given the option once again of either being released to the heat dens to serve as a rut for the alphas or to accept a new pack. After living through nine months of hell in the dens, she was more than willing to go with any pack that wanted her. The very first pack she was introduced to was the Aguilar Pack, which consisted of the Leader Angel, followed by four other alphas: Zeke, Micah, Max, Tiago, and Ari, the beta. Once they had been introduced to her, they all took in her scent and accepted her. Once they signed the papers for her, she was informed that the reassignment center would check in on her in six months to make certain everything was going well. She then left with her new pack mates.

During dinner, she was shocked to learn from Angel that when the pack had received her scent card along with the packet containing her information, they had scent-matched with her. Melody was sceptical about their matching, after having been discarded by her former packmates. Secretly, she didn't WANT to scent-match with them because, from her way of thinking, that would only complicate the situation. She just wanted to let them rut her and be done with it.

As time passed, Mel struggled with doubts about the six guys actually keeping her as their omega. Her old pack had treated her in such a horrible manner that it left a ton of self-doubt and suspicion that was hard to overcome. However, her new pack was open and honest with her, and she returned that trust by slowly beginning to accept everything.

Although this book had angst, drama, push/pull, contention, spicy scenes, and the ever-present emotional rollercoaster that a normal romance novel would have, it was more about a woman learning how to deal with the trauma of rejection and overcoming a lifestyle she was not meant for (the heat dens). No humor was offered to alleviate how depressing the entire story was. It just went from one trauma to another for the FMC without so much as a moment of relief. In addition to that, there wasn't much background story written about any of the characters, whether they were the main pack, the FMC, or the old pack. As previously stated, it was all about learning/healing from the trauma of rejection. The romance between the FMC and the rest of the pack wasn't the main focus at all, which was disappointing.

The length of the story was drawn out more than it had to be, with the author giving too much emphasis on the heat dens/reassignment camp. As much as it was appreciated that she told what happened to omegas in such places, that could easily have been done via a recap/retelling by the omega to her packmates. Plus, the scene with the first pack could have been handled by the omega rejecting them on the spot and watching them each go through a similar pain that she had endured all those months ago. On top of that, the author missed the opportunity to have the omega's new pack go through the same passion-induced scent matching once they got the omega home (much the same way as the old pack did with their scent match).

The MFC was not quite as fully developed as she should have been, and at times, she acted on impulse, showing the reader just how immature and childish she could be. As for the six main men, there were varying degrees of maturity, but with an all-around level of not quite fully developed for each of them. Perhaps the reader got that impression because the book was only written from the FMC's POV. This made it less enjoyable since the reader wasn't given any insight into the pack's separate thoughts, feelings, or struggles. It would have been better if each pack member had been able to state their POV, as many other authors are wont to do. Without this view, the book was crippled to the point of falling flat on its face.

I gave this book only a three-star status, and that was being generous. There were too many plot twists that the author could (and should) have taken advantage of, but chose not to for whatever reason. I can't say whether or not I will read any future books by this particular author. It's something I will have to give a tremendous amount of consideration to...if I give any at all.

This book was bland as hell. In my opinion, there isnt any real substance to the writing or to the characters. I feel like more could have been done with the plot despite it being similar to a lot of omegaverse plots out there but because it was super short the author had no time to really do anything with it.

Spoilers ahead:

The fmc, Melody, is replaced in her original bonded pack when they find their scentmatch and they decide to “return” her to the omega academy where you either get redistributed back out to a “second-rate” pack since being returned or rejected by your original pack makes you also a second rate omega…or you join the heat dens and are whored out to rutting alphas for a low wage. Originally Melody decides she’s going to join the heat dens, she doesnt want to risk her heart again in a pack but after being in the facility for nine months and being forced to go to the heat dens for each of her heats in that time period, she’s willing to chance it with one of the second rate packs to avoid returning. She is immediately picked up by the new pack, they claim they’re her scent matches, and she goes to live with them. I wont bother with mentioning their names because pretty much all of them are the same or just lack any substance. There are a few hiccups along the way, where Melody tries to act like she had with her original pack or behave in a way that is demeaning to omegas due to her trauma from the facility like saying things like “I’m just here for yall to use my body” and we endure a constant back and forth where she’s positive they’re gonna reject her and send her back and the alphas and one beta from the new pack have to reassure her that this is not the case. They help her through her heat and one of the more aggressive alphas kinda pitches a fit that she’s not ready to bond them or let them bite her yet…which causes him to call her old pack to try to set up a meeting with them but they end up showing up to the house when none of the new pack are around, saying they want her back and tell her that that specific alpha called them and she jumps to conclusions of “they dont want me” and she leaves. In reality that alpha, i think his name was Zeke, called her old pack because he had plans for Melody to have a chance for closure and to tell them off and see that the new pack is better but…enter the miscommunication trope….or more like no communication trope. She returns to the heat dens for 3 weeks while the new pack tries to find her by showing up each day hoping she’s in rotation…it takes one of them finding her and talking to her for like 2 seconds before she chooses to go home with them…and then the whole issue is resolved in like a short paragraph where Zeke explains himself, she says she’s sorry she left and then she’s suddenly ready for them to bite her…despite everything she’s just went through. 🙄

The premise of this book could be good. FMC omega in a choice bond relationship. The pack finds their true scent match who drives her out. Rides out her heat alone and is rather forgotten and unloved till they dump her off at a camp to "rehabilitate her" There she finds her scent matches. Who struggle with her inability to love.
The story starts out better then it goes along, It has some good points but just needs to be better fleshed out, more meat...

Ali hands down was my favourite MMC. He was cute. He was funny. He wasn’t grumpy. His moods just lifted you. Plus, he was the only Beta of the group which made the story line so much cuter.

Tiago was my second favourite. He was so gentle and caring. He was attentive but strict as most alphas are in these novels. He was just a sweet soul.

Angel and Zeke are my close third favourites. Angel was the top alpha and you can see why. He knows how to take care of his pack and he isn’t afraid to either. Zeke made some mistakes but they were made with a completely different outlook in mind. His main mistake being that he called the Omegas old pack with the intention of empowering her but it backfired into betrayal. Nevertheless, we got the happy ending.

Coming in number finally was Micah and Max. These two we didn’t really get to see which is why they are placed so low. We saw them in the spicy scenes but not much more than that. They were still great characters from speculation of their encounters.

Overall, this book was angsty, heartbreaking and most importantly, heartwarming. This book pulled at my heart strings. The Omega really didn’t deserve the ‘heat dens’ that she was sent to after the facility. She deserved all of the love her precious pack refused her when they found their mate. It broke my heart to see her go through her heat alone when the people she had come to trust just let her go like that. Absolutely not. I will not stand for that. I’m beyond glad that she got her proper ceremony of bonding through marriage to six wonderful males. She got her bonds after so much misery from her old ones.

This book is definitely worth a read to get your heart feeling warm and fulfilled.

This started off really strong. I was captivated by the story, the emotion and trauma.

But it was too short to get everything into it in order to work. With six guys in the harem, and her joining them and actually talking to them at 60%...doesn’t leave you with any time to get to know them. For the length of this book, I feel like anything more than 4 guys is too much to fit in, even then it's a tight fit.

Seriously, besides Angel's favourite colour being orange, a rose neck tattoo, a peirced peen, Max having a friendly smile, and one of them being hispanic descent, I don't know anything about the guys. I don't even remember all of their names because some of them kind of disappeared into the background.

Also, the fmc decided to write a book about the truth behind what happens when a pack rejects their omega because the world believes it's a good, happy/hopeful place when they're sent to the Omega Reassignment Centre. Instead, the abuse, torture and r*pe they have to endure as they're stripped down to a possession, property of the govenment, not even allowed the clothes off their back.

She finishes the book and says she wants to publish it but we don't get to see that happen. Did she publish it? How did that go? Did it shed much needed light on the ORC? Were there any consequences to what they do?

This is something I would have liked in the 'epilogue' rather than see a pool they have an orgy next to. Or another head given she was so scared during hers with the guys and was triggered more than once because of the trauma she endured at the ORC.

What was written, was really interesting it's just too much was left out to feel like a complete book.

I just finished Omega Lost by C.T. Rhames, and wow… this book pulled me in fast. I devoured it in about three hours, and even though it’s a shorter read, it hits hard in all the right ways.

The story opens with heartbreak the kind that leaves a character scared, scarred, and barely holding herself together. From there, it takes you through her fall into the reassignment center, where she spends six months trying not to lose herself completely. The author did such an amazing job showing how trauma, survival, and identity all crash together. Even the scenes involving the heat dens were handled in a way that added weight to her journey without feeling gratuitous.

This is an Omegaverse romance with strong A/B/O dynamics, and definitely a slow burn with a why-choose (reverse harem) twist. What I loved most is how her new scent-bonded mates aren’t just “hot alphas” they’re rough, tough, complicated, and honestly just as broken in their own ways. Watching her try to accept them and watching them try to be worthy of her was one of my favorite parts of the whole book.

Some things that really stood out to me:
💜 The emotional depth right from the first chapter
💜 A heroine who refuses to stay down, even when she’s crushed
💜 Mates who aren’t perfect, but who want to fight for her
💜 Slow-burn tension that builds beautifully
💜 Dark, atmospheric Omegaverse world-building

If you’re into Omegaverse, why-choose dynamics, slow-burn tension, and emotionally heavy beginnings that turn into something healing and hopeful, this book is such a good pick. It’s one of those stories that sticks with you long after you finish.

Absolutely recommend. 💜📚✨

Listen I keep trying to get into omega verse and keep leaving disappointed. Leaving aside that apparently everyone is aware of huge issues like the "heat dens" and the re-training center and reacts in a way that tells us they understand they are cruel and wrong, but somehow still do nothing about it or react for more than a minute, the way they treated the fmc was ridiculous.

I thought, "oh cool, she finds a new pack and they treat her right" but they literally make a joke that she's just there to "service" them right after finding out she's been repeatedly raped. And even if you say that they don't conceptualize it as rape in their world, they've all reacted in a way that shows they know how she's been treated is deplorable. One of them calls her defective when she's no longer soft and cuddly after that. The guys suck, they have no personality, and I honestly couldn't tell you how many there were, that's how interchangeable they were. And my feeling is, if you're going to make bland flat characters, at least make them excellent fantasies, right? They should be perfect men if they don't have personalities of their own, but instead they just seem to be confused why she's traumatized and there to fuck.

I will give this book points for trying to give the fmc a personality beyond being an omega, and seeing her try to discover herself during her recovery, but with only a hundred and sixty something pages, it's underdeveloped.

They promised her forever. That lasted until they found their scent match and Melody became an afterthought, an inconvenience. So, her bonded pack deposited her at an Omega Reassignment Center, where rejected Omegas are supposed to get a second chance. For most, it's a dead end. Mistreatment, heat dens or low-level packs is the future rejected Omegas have forced upon them. After nine months in the heat dens, Melody knows she can't take any more, so even though she swore she would never trust a pack again, she accepts an offer. Her new pack swears she's their scent match, but Melody learned the hard way that packs can't be trusted - they can only be survived.

This book has a wonderful premise. I love a trauma background, rejection, and a second-chance love. I love a female who pulls herself off the floor and finds happiness again with loving, protective partners. This isn't what I got. The set-up was heartbreaking. The Reassignment Center was a nightmare. However, the time with her second pack was rushed. The book had little depth to begin with, but it became one-dimensional from this point on. It lacked emotion and suffered from a lack of character development and relationship building. Melody's choices were nonsensical and infuriating from the beginning, but her third-act breakup decision was too far, considering her past. Just, no.

New Pack for the Win

This book broke my heart in the first 5 minutes.

While the original pack took their omega out for a night on the town the alphas run into their scent match mate. Just like that poor Melody was replaced. (This broke my heart.) The pack wanted her to stay while they were deeply infactuated with this new omega Amy. After both onegas go into heat Mel suffers and the pack decides they don’t want her anymore and the send her to a reassignment center.

When in heat they send you to a heat den where a number of random alphas rut into you constantly until your heat breaks. I felt so bad for poor Melody. After 9 months of dealing with the pits of hades she decides she’s ready to try a pack.

The Aguilar pack consists of 5 alphas
Angel, Zeke, Micah, Max, Tiago and their beta Ari. Lo and behold they are scent matches. Poor Melody can’t trust or let these incredible men in because of the trauma her old pack and the center bestowed upon her.

I love her forever pack. They deal with Melody’s trauma and help reassure her as much as they can. Ari is most definitely my favorite with Tiago close behind.

Remember folks the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

So disappointing when a story has a really interesting premise, but doesn’t follow through.

The beginning of the book describing Melody’s first pack and her time in the omega centre was fantastic, and really set up the hope that she would find a pack that loved and valued her.

The pacing felt breakneck, and it didn’t feel like there was any sort of emotional development between Melody and the pack, despite the fact that they were supposedly scent-matches. The relationship between Melody and her old pack seemed waaaay stronger. The new pack just seemed to boss Melody rather around than nurture her and support her through her trauma. The whole deal about the pack being “outside the law” is that sometimes they transport counterfeit merchandise, and have supposedly been to jail, but that whole plot point is just literarily hand waved away.

This story needed so much more time showing Melody integrating into the pack, and more opportunities for us as readers to learn and find a way to actually be invested in this pack. Frankly, this premise would have been much more successful in the hands of another author.

As someone that likes to lean on abo dynamics, this kinda fell off for me.

The plot felt like a bunch of evidence on a detectives investigation board without any red string to tie it all together.

It started off okay, albeit a lack of introspection. I guess logic does fly out the window when mates come into play, but all four of them? Left her alone??

It's just that alot could have been done differently. Like her finding herself and becoming an omega that fights for a bit of change considering all the trauma that she experienced, especially since she has such strong scent mates. But then again it's not my story.

Her running off back into the 'only' two options she could come up with whcih is the centre or the heat den.... I mean...

I think I would be interested in watching how things play out when the guys are not themselves or they have a bad day or have displaced feelings... Like a bit of growth and challenge and some chaos to their bonds and how they become stronger.

The ending just shows a happy family and you don't just get such a picture without a bit of work so.

Overall it was a good read though.

Omega Lost by C.T. Rhames is a decent read that serves well as a filler between more captivating books. While it doesn't quite reach the heights of literary greatness, it has its moments.

The writing style is straightforward, though it leans towards being a bit basic and "meh" at times. This simplicity can make the narrative feel somewhat flat, lacking the depth and nuance that could have elevated the story.

The plot itself holds great potential. The premise is intriguing, and there are glimpses of a compelling story that could have been more fully realized with richer character development and more intricate world-building.

As for the spice scenes, they do the job but don't particularly stand out. They are functional and add some heat to the narrative, but they don't leave a lasting impression.

Overall, Omega Lost is an "okay" read. It's a good choice if you're looking for something to pass the time between more engaging books, but it might not leave a significant mark on your reading journey.

Omega Lost

This story started out very strong and it was different from an average omegaverse. The society treats Omegas terribly, but our heroine was taken into her childhood friends pack at a young age so she wasn't exposed to that brutality. However, she wasn't the pack's scent match. Suddenly they find their matched Omega ability and pretty much dump her to the wolves. Lost and broken she is forced into a retraining center. This book delves into her mental anguish at the loss of her bond, life and self esteem, which impairs her ability to re bond when she is found by her scent matched pack. There was real potential for a quality product here, but it fell short due to zero character development in the alphas. The last quarter of this short book is simply a bunch of gratuitous sex scenes with no real plot resolution. Like, what happened to her old pack? Her book? The awful society? Their business? It needs editing especially when Max and Micah are interchangeable.
