"In the light of day, Sister Alicia Snowell is a faithful and devoted bride of the gods, dedicated to serving the Holy Church and its followers. In the shadows, she’s one of the Church’s top inquisitors, tasked with hunting down and eliminating heretics by any means necessary.
Alicia’s latest assassinate the Hero Elcyon, slayer of the mighty Demon Lord, whose growing fame threatens to eclipse the Church’s political power. In order to kill the divinely protected, supposedly unkillable Hero, Alicia first needs to win Elcyon’s heart.
There’s just one problem—Elcyon turns out to be a girl named Cion!
Alicia’s at a loss for what to do, but while she tries to figure out how to seduce a girl, more trouble brews on the horizon. With remnants of the demon army still at large, Alicia and Cion face one deadly supernatural battle after another! Where will the two girls’ intertwining paths lead them?"
Bit of an odd story. Dark and brutal, lots of blood and death and a very cynical main character serving the Church as an inquisitor, but not believing in anything, which the cardinals leading the Church do not help with. The Hero on the other hand is oddly naïve, and yet happily slaughters demons and their kids (which the MC than struggles with). Or at least, that is how the hero appears since the story is told very much from the first person point of view with no switches. If anything, the story feels a bit too over the top, and in the volume does not have much of a narrative beyond introducing character and the world. It is certainly different from the typical light novel fare though. Still, if you like something dark and brutal, you could do worse.
The author said to put "Schrödinger’s panties" here for some reason. I don't know why but here it is. I still don't get it. Btw, reading Alicia being snarky and rude was fun.
