The Fate Factor

Rate this book
Noel Kasey has always had a soft spot for her grandmother’s fortune-telling games. She also knows they’re just that. Games. Until one night at a party when she pretends to read a man’s future as a joke and sees his life play out like a movie, including a lucrative business tip and a very intimate moment–starring her.

An unbidden psychic vision would be enough to unnerve anyone, but for overly cautious Noel, it’s downright terrifying. She gives the stranger the highlight reel (minus their supposed love story), then hightails it out of the party and back to her normal, safe life. But two years later, when Noel’s life is turned upside down by family drama, the universe drops the stranger from the party back on her doorstep. Literally.

Jamie Bishop is convinced Noel is his long-lost guardian angel, sent to guide him on his newest business decision. Noel, however, wants nothing to do with the reunion until a friend reminds her that a man who she may already be fated to is the safest bet of them all.

As the two explore the fateful connection that brought them together and new feelings that are brewing, Noel is faced with a question: Is the future made up of things that are or things that could be?

4.5 / 5 Stars
I really loved this book. Tonally and vibe wise, it felt similar to “The Seven Year Slip” by Ashley Poston and “Funny Story” by Emily Henry, which are two of my favorite books. It follows Noel, who “reads” the future for a very handsome man at a party. She thought it would be all fun and games but she sees him getting cheated on by his current girlfriend, coming into money, and getting frisky with her. She tells him all of that (minus the part about them getting hot and heavy) and hightails it out of there. Two years later, she runs into him and he is convinced that she is North Star and he desperately needs her guidance again with his business. But Noel keeps seeing visions of them together (very horny visions). And maybe that isn’t so bad? Maybe it is safer for risk averse Noel to feel like this is a done deal. But is the future already decided or do they have agency over their lives?

The book explored some heavy themes in a really thoughtful and digestible way. Noel is dealing with the grief of her grandmother’s recent passing, navigating being the responsible child of an immature parent, and figuring out her career. Jaime is dealing with imposter syndrome in all aspects of his life. The author crafted a really great story that connected the plot and characters really well. You could see why they would act the way that they did. For example, Jaime has always had a hard time keeping up in school due to his ADHD and dyscalculia and those feelings of being left out or feeling like he is missing the plot are reiterated throughout his life (not realizing that his girlfriend was cheating, feeling like he can’t manage the business side of his business). The characters were complex enough to have depth but not so complex that you couldn’t understand their decisions. It wasn’t overwritten or underwritten. Just the Goldilocks amount of written, which can be a really hard balance!

I really loved both Jaime and Noel. Sometimes, in opposites attract plots, it will feel like two people are so opposite that they are incompatible. Jaime and Noel felt like complementary opposites. I really could believe that these two people would fall in love and fall relatively quickly. Their connection was the perfect amount of swoon and spice.

The pacing was really well done too. I thought that we might spend too much time on Noel trying to deny or push down their connection because her visions freak her out which would have been frustrating but there was just enough skepticism and belief to drive the plot forward. The miscommunications or lack of communication was also done in a really natural way. Sometimes I want to bang my head against the wall when two characters won’t talk about their feelings but here, it felt really natural and believable.

And I love the message that believing in a little magic can give you courage. But it also doesn’t mean that you don’t have control of your life. It can be a “both and” situation that can lead to great things in life.

I will definitely read more of Lauren H. Mae’s work! I have already ordered myself a copy of this book.

Thank you Love, Lo Books, Lauren H. Mae and NetGalley for providing the eARC. All opinions are my own.

I can't recommend this book enough. Perfect for fans of Ashley Poston—realistic and lovable characters grappling with an unexpected dose of magic meddling in their lives. I adored every second.

Jamie is an absolute delight, easily going on my list of all-time favorite MMCs in contemporary romance. His impulsivity is the perfect foil to Noel's cautious approach to life and love, and their chemistry together is off the charts. Also really appreciated the Portland, Maine setting—it felt transportative and authentic and captured so much of the city's character.

Counting the days until the cover reveal on Friday!

If you enjoy romances with a little bit of magical realism in them - like Ashley Poston - you’ll really enjoy this one! The prologue absolutely hooked me and I was excited to see where the story would go. I loved how that little bit of magical realism was there and was part of the story without overwhelming it. The fmc sees a vision of her and the mmc being together the night they meet, except something like that has never happened to her before. They’re fated to be together but she’s not sure if she can believe what she saw. The more time they spend together they both start to believe even if it wasn’t fate, they would have found their way to each other eventually.

Both of the characters were very likable and had their own pieces to them that made them unique. I enjoyed reading about the fmc discovering what makes her happy and choosing to put herself first for the first time. The mmc was such a sweetie and I absolute adored everything he said and did. I’d gladly read more books set in the quaint small town it was set in.

What happens when your fake psychic reading at a rooftop party turns into a real-life vision of your romantic future—with a total stranger? The Fate Factor explores that delicious question with a touch of magic, lots of emotional depth, and a romance that unfolds like the slowest, sweetest sunrise. It’s giving Ashley Poston, but coastal Maine-style. Whimsical yet grounded. Cozy yet meaningful. Fate meets free will, and you’ll want to believe in both.

🏷️ Tropes You’ll Find:

magical realism

strangers to lovers

golden retriever hero

ADHD & dyscalculia rep

small town charm

opposites attract

Blush Meter 💖💖/ 5

There’s chemistry and tension, and when they do touch, it’s toe-curling and worth the wait. But this one leans more toward cozy emotional intimacy than steamy page time. Think: forehead touches, soft laughter, and long stares across the dinner table.

🌟 TAK Girlie Rating: ★★★★

This book hooked me with its prologue (the vision scene? Obsessed), and delivered a heartfelt exploration of grief, creative burnout, and the scary hope that maybe, just maybe, we’re not as lost as we think. I docked a star because a few beats felt a touch too quick (a sprinkle of instalove), but honestly? I didn’t even mind. Jamie is a golden retriever in human form and Noel’s emotional arc left me misty-eyed in the best way.

Let’s talk about fate. Not the “your horoscope told you to stay home” kind—but the “what if this moment is happening for a reason?” kind. That’s where this story lives.

Noel is the kind of FMC I adore: logical, grieving, and fiercely independent… until she accidentally predicts her future with a total stranger. Her moment with Jamie at that rooftop party is one of those scenes you read twice, just to soak in the eerie magic. But the book doesn’t lean hard into the fantastical—it uses it to crack Noel open. Her grief over her grandmother, her creative stagnation, her inner restlessness—it all collides with Jamie’s reappearance two years later like fate tapping twice, just to be sure.

Jamie, on the other hand, might seem like your classic sunshine boy at first, but there’s something deeper. He’s facing his own career crossroads, trying to outrun a reputation he doesn’t want anymore, and deeply drawn to the girl who once saw something in him—literally. I was side-eyeing him at first, not gonna lie. But underneath the charm is a man who wants to be better. For himself, and for her.

Their love story is soft. It's safe. It’s not about fixing each other but gently encouraging each other to look up. And when the tension bubbles over (hello, hair-washing scene), it feels earned. It’s the kind of romance that believes in timing—but also believes we get to choose what we do with the time we’re given.

Not to forget, Em is the chaotic friend we all need; the small-town vibe is cozy, and there’s a cat. Yes, a coastal Maine cottage + a grieving artist + a golden retriever hero + a cat = literal serotonin.

🏡 Final Thoughts:

If Ashley Poston and Emily Henry had a quieter, slightly more mystical love child, it might be The Fate Factor. This book felt like watching fog lift slowly from the ocean—you don’t realize how much it’s moved you until you’re standing in the light. It’s tender, a little magical, and deeply healing. A beautiful reminder that love isn’t just about destiny—it’s also about choice.

Thank you to the author for the gifted advanced digital copy of this charming, heartfelt blend of magical realism, emotional healing, and a love letter to coastal Maine.

At a rooftop party, Noel jokingly channels her eccentric grandmother’s flair for “psychic” readings - but when a handsome stranger asks for one, something strange and startling happens. She has a real vision about his life. His work. And their future romance. Terrified, she shares everything except the romantic part and disappears into the night.

Two years later, Noel is still grieving the loss of her beloved grandmother - and her artistic spark. When her boss insists she take time off, Noel retreats to the cozy coastal Maine cottage she inherited. She’s hoping to find peace. Inspiration. Herself.

What she doesn’t expect? To run into Jamie (the man from that rooftop party) again. He’s at a professional crossroads of his own, and he sees Noel’s reappearance as fate. But Noel is still wary. Are her visions destiny…or just possibility?

This book is everything I love about magical realism: whimsical but grounded, mysterious without losing the emotional core. Noel and Jamie’s chemistry is palpable, their connection slow-burning and deeply tender. There's madcap fun, rich character growth, and just the right amount of spice. And if you’ve read Road Trips and Wish Lists, this one dials up the heart, humor, and chaos in the best possible way.

If so…

The Fate Factor, by Lauren H. Mae, is a contemporary romance, with a touch of magical realism, that demonstrates the difference between destiny and opportunity.

I’ve been a fan of Lauren’s for years, so when I saw she was coming out with this, I knew I had to read it. If you like your romances sweet and steamy, this one is for you.

I liked that the characters had different viewpoints on fate and that they had to work to get to a happy middle to be together.

I kept thinking about a quote from the 90’s movie Can’t Hardly Wait that says, “There is fate. But it only takes you so far, because once you're there, it's up to you to make it happen.”

Overall, I absolutely loved it. I can always count on Lauren to deliver me a romance I will devour. She always, ALWAYS, writes swoony men. It’s something I can expect with her books and I look forward to whatever she comes out with next.

Also, can my boss give me three months off to find inspiration in New England? Please and thanks.

Such an interesting concept! Noel has a vision at a party about the dreamy Jamie, giving him a portion of the information expecting not to see him again. Two years later, none other than Jamie enters back into her life. The golden retriever Jamie with the rationale/level headed Noel it’s an opposites attract love. A fraction instalovey (which isn’t my normal cup of tea) I loved watching this relationship develop whilst they face their own personal growth. The side characters, especially Em, gave this book some really funny moments to intertwine with the emotional topics. Overall this was a lovely read and gave major Ashley Poston vibes!!

This book was so unique and so very lovely. Noel and Jamie had an instant connection even before Noel told Jamie his future. I love how when they reconnected, she dreaded it and he was thrilled making her the grump and him the sunshine. I also appreciated how they both had different expectations and things to work through to solidify their relationship. I rooted for Noel and Jamie as both a couple and individually as they discovered what they wanted for their lives. Thank you to Lauren H. Mae for giving me the opportunity to read it early.

Huge thanks to Lauren H. Mae for the opportunity to receive a review copy of The Fate Factor!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25 rounded down - This was a cute read! It took me a little while to get into, but I feel like that is perhaps a reflection of it being a bit outside of the typical romance realms I find myself in.

I found the spice element a bit confusing in the sense that it felt like the author couldn’t decide if she wanted to write an open or closed door style book. There were multiple occasions where the MCs are described as being intimate, but there is little to no description that accompanies this. The first time they hook up around the 60% mark, there is a word count of two “c*ck” and one “p*ssy,” but then never again when these scenes took place. At the same time, we have scenes like

“Come sit.”
“I am sitting.”
“On my face, baby.”

Which, don’t get me wrong — I loved this moment. But it felt out of place where the spicy scenes in general felt very tame. It was the first time I’ve encountered this sort of conflicted approach to spicy scenes and I felt like it needed to be one or the other.

𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒙𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒇𝒇. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒆.

I honestly knew just from the prologue that this was going to be something different and sweet. There was this mystical tension between Noel and Jamie that was screaming to be explored, which was intriguingly intense and had me immediately hooked😍

Their romance was destined to happen, but the magical aspects aren't too heavily focused on aside from showing glimpses of what could be. It's still up to them as an individual to take that chance. The story in itself is so beautiful from both main character's perspectives.

There's a lot of grief and uncertainty of where Noel's future is heading, but becoming friends with Jamie opened her up to start going for what she loves and finding peace in forgotten past times.
Initially, I found it challenging to connect with Jamie due to my suspicion that he had hidden agendas aimed solely at his own benefit. However, as I started to look beyond his charismatic facade, I discovered a person who was genuinely battling his own demons. Although he has transformed from a playboy, many still view him as someone who is just messing around. Yet, his commitment to his work reveals the true depth of his character.

But that's also the charm of opposites attract because Noel plays it safe and logical, Jamie is impulsive and curious. He helps her rediscover her passion and learn to trust in the unknown, while she shows him that he is more than his challenges and that he can achieve much more than he thinks he deserves.

There's a lot to love about this story with its coastal setting, loveable side characters, a feline fur baby, and a love story about finding one's passion and purpose. This was magically cozy, soft to the core, and incredibly heartwarming. The perfect summer read to add to your tbr!

Thank you so much, Lauren, for the arc! It's as always a true delight to read your beautiful stories🩵

Title: The Fate Factor
Author: Lauren H. Mae
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Pages: 378

Rating: 4.5⭐️/5 (rounded up!)

“Whatever it is I’m supposed to be searching for, please don’t make it too hard to find.”

At 21, Noel Kasey is a burnt-out designer on the verge of a promotion when she’s told to take a break—just as her beloved, tarot-reading Nana passes away. She retreats to Maine, grieving and feeling disconnected from the world. Two years earlier, at a rooftop party, she met Jamie—aka Jameson Bishop—a charming but struggling guy with ADHD, dyscalculia, and a dream of opening a brewery. She gave him a casual, oddly accurate reading that changed everything. Now, he’s back in her life after a twist of fate, and as old “visions” begin to come true, Noel must decide if she can trust in something as unpredictable as magic—and love.

This book is honestly just too cute—from the charming cover to the fun, light storyline that still knows how to hit you in the feels. It’s all about finding your spark again when life has dulled it down. The emotional depth sneaks up on you, especially when Noel reflects on her mom chasing love and destiny so hard she once quit her job and took Noel across the country for a maybe—those moments feel so human, real, and relatable. As someone who loves art and believes in tarot, destiny, gemstones, and all things magical, this book totally hit the sweet spot! The Maine setting, the cozy mix of whimsy and warmth, and Jamie’s steady, searching energy tie everything together beautifully. And the side characters—especially Em—bring the perfect amount of humor just when you need it. Uplifting, a little magical, and full of heart!

A big thanks to Lauren H. Mae for providing me with a digital ARC of this book!

🔮📚 Book Review

Noel Kasey doesn’t believe in magic... well, not really. 🃏💭 Her Nana’s fortune-telling was always a charming childhood game—until a party prank turns real. She “reads” a stranger’s future as a joke and sees visions she can’t explain... including a steamy scene with her in it. 😳🔥

Spooked, she bolts—never expecting that the same man, Jamie Bishop, will reappear years later on her doorstep like fate's cosmic encore. 🚪🌌
🔮 The Magic of Possibility
The book beautifully blurs the line between destiny and decision. Noel’s psychic vision raises the timeless question: Are we living out a fixed script, or are we co-authors of our fate? 📖🤔 The story doesn’t give easy answers, but it invites you to believe in the magic of chance, intuition, and a little universal mischief. ✨🌀

👫 Noel & Jamie = Soft Magic
Jamie isn’t just a romantic interest—he’s a symbol of trust in the unknown. While Noel clings to safety and logic, Jamie dives into mystery with curiosity and charm. Together, they represent the classic opposites who grow toward each other. ☯️❤️

🎢 Emotional
From fear to flirtation, isolation to connection, Noel’s journey is one of emotional bravery. The book gently explores how past trauma and family instability shape us—and how healing often begins with being seen, truly seen. 👁️💬💕

If you’re in the mood for a romance that’s soft, magical, introspective, and a little spooky (in the best way)—this is your sign. 🌌💞
Expect cozy vibes, quirky fate games, and a story that celebrates the courage to leap when love might just catch you. 🎠🫶

My happy place is Maine. I am convinced I was destined to live here, and that the decisions made over the last few years set me on the path that eventually led me to my little hometown on the water. Maybe that is why the magic that weaves through this story touched me in a very tangible and special way.

Noel is used to being in control, choosing the mature and responsible option always. Until one day destiny, or fate if you will, bent the arc of her future to the possibility of something she hadn’t even dared to dream for herself. Will she follow it or lean on her usual structured path?

Jamie is no stranger to brick walls showing up in his path. People are organically drawn to him, but he also questions himself in ways that threaten to keep his dreams from reality. The catch is he has some around him who have witnessed all the ebbs and flows of his life and often underestimate what he is capable of. Will he learn to trust in his dreams or follow the safe route?

These two characters, along with a diverse cast of supporting actors (and a very special feline), make this book a simultaneously intriguing and heart-warming reminder that we all have some magic in us, if we have the guts to draw on it when it matters most. You will love this book if you appreciate the combination of the Maine coast, an artist questioning her purpose, and a craft beer aficionado looking for answers to questions he can only truly answer from within. The elements of whimsy, magic, and wit will keep you entertained, and if you're anything like me, you will want to keep a box of tissues handy.

“That’s the moment I knew: Dreams and nightmares are made of the exact same stuff. The only thing that separates them is how much of yourself you’re willing to lose in the chase.”

This fresh new novel travels squarely in the open door romance lane. The Portland setting grabbed my attention and the sweet story kept me reading. Many locations aren’t named, but ones I have visited (I see you Ri Ra) are accurately depicted and add to the sense of place in this not-so-classic Maine summer read.

Noel Kasey, artist and graphic designer returns to her home after a two year absence and she settles back into her recently deceased Nana’s cottage. Two years prior she had an encounter with a stranger on a rooftop, using her Nana’s seemingly harmless premonition game.

Now back in Portland, Noel stumbles upon that stranger from her past, who’s life was impacted by their little magical exercise and he once again is looking for a glimpse into the future. Jamie Bishop, hunky brewery co-owner, has a personal life as complicated as one of his beer recipes, and is looking for a grounding figure, but maybe not one that is as untethered as he is.

A fun, slightly angsty read, this reminded me of Ashley Poston’s book The Seven Year Slip in all the good ways! I appreciate the digital copy from the local author (in exchange for my review) and enjoyed the opportunity to support a writer who truly knows Maine ❤️🌲

This was a strong 4.5 star read; I devoured it in 24 hours. I needed to read a solid romance, and ‘The Fate Factor’ absolutely gave me all the feels.

Read if you go heart eyes for:
- Dual POV
- Destiny and fate
- Super flirty and Super cute
- Opposites attract

Noel and Jamie meet at a party, and as a joke, Noel intends to read a fake fortune for Jamie as a prank. Instead, she has real visions of the future, and tells him her psychic vision. Two years later, Noel is having a rough time with her grandmother dying and Mom moving. She goes to Nanas beach house and runs into Jamie as fate would have it. Jamie has idolized Noel for two years as everything she told him came true. Now he wants a replay of her fortune telling. Is it possible to happen again? Or has destiny brought them back together for other reasons?

I really loved this. It was such a cute idea for a novel, and I really enjoyed the author’s writing style. Our main characters were flawed and not perfect, but I appreciated that. The chemistry was sizzling hot between Noel and Jamie.

Absolutely recommend this book for all romance readers!

This was super cute! I love the magical realism aspect, reminds me of Ashley Poston and Stella Hayward.

Noel's grandmother has always had a penchant for fortune telling, something that Noel has always thought was just a hokey hobby. That is until a random rooftop party where she comes across Jamie - a cute stranger looking for life and relationship advice. She jokingly "reads his future" but actually has visions of his business luck and his cheating girlfriend...along with visions of her and Jamie...together.

Fast forward 2 years. Noel's grandmother has since passed and Noel travels to Maine to take care of her house. Jamie, now a brewery owner thanks to his "guardian angel's" fortune telling, gets into an accident that ends up leading him back to Noel.

The two become friends but Jamie has some innocent ulterior motives. What will Noel see in his future? Will it come true? What is the cost?

What to expect from this book:
🔮 Dual first-person POV
🔮 Magical realism
🔮 She's a graphic designer, he's a brewery owner
🔮 He has ADHD and dyscalculia
🔮 3 open-door spice scenes

Thank you Lauren Mae for an ARC of this book! I love finding new indie authors to support and I’m so glad I stumbled upon your book via social media!!

You know when they say every good story starts with a hook?! Well Lauren had me HOOK line and sinker with this prologue!! I really enjoyed the writing overall!

This was a fun one but the magical elements weren’t really my jam (totally a me thing)! If you like your romances with a sprinkle of magic, this is the book for you!!

💬Favorite Quotes💬

“They look at you—” she pushes her finger into my cheek before I can dodge her. “Noel looks. At. You.” This time her finger lands directly in the center of my chest, and I swear I feel it sink right through the bone and scrape against my heart.

“‘Why are you so nervous, then?’ she taunted. I don’t know, Kate. Maybe I’m afraid of having some sort of psychotic break in public.”

“How on earth was that your best moment?” The grin on his face loosens to something softer, a little sappy. “Because it brought me back to you.”

“I think I’ve been missing you my whole life.”

Noel Kasey had also gone along with her grandmother’s fortune-telling games for fun until one night, she found herself reading a man’s future, only to see it playing out like a movie, with her in it. Noel is unnerved and quickly escapes to some normality. However, two years later, the same stranger arrives back on her doorstep. Jamie Bishop is convinced Noel is his long-lost guardian angel, sent to guide him on his newest business decision. Yet Noel wants nothing to do with him until she is convinced that Jamie might be her fate. As Noel and Jamie explore what brought them together, their feelings also grow.
The book might seem at first quite simple in its storyline, yet it does explore several serious topics of grief and partner betrayal. Thrown together with a hint of mystic magic, this is a delightful read. There is plenty of chemistry between these two characters, who are well balanced. While Noel is cautious, Jamie is a lot of fun. Making them a great couple. A good read.

A fated meet-cute mixed with second chance vibes - that's the trope that The Fate Factor serves you.

Noel, a non-believer in fortune telling, is hit by visions about a stranger. Two years later, she takes a sabbatical to recover from burnout and the destiny delivers this stranger to her front porch. Is magic really for real?

I would categorize this emotional rollercoaster under magical realism meets romance category. The message is clear, yet the reader and the characters see it much later. Thats the whole appeal of Fate Factor.

The pacing is on point with the characters sketched to be flawed and inspirational at the same time. I could connect with the tenacity Jamie shows with his business and the strong pillar of support he has in Em.

I would recommend this for any romance reader looking for a hint of magic in their story. If you are going through burnout or imposter syndrome, you could take a leaf out of this book too.

P.S. I received a free ARC from NetGalley. The review is my honest opinion as a reader.

“Fate isn’t going to hand me this life risk free, but the risk is worth it because the reward could be so good if I dare to choose it.”

I was so excited when Lauren reached out asking if I would be interested in helping with the cover reveal for her next book. I learned that it was a Portland, ME setting and then I was even more excited when I received an eARC. Portland is beautiful and I was lucky to visit a few times when a friend of mine was living in the area. The setting was just one of the great things about this charming romance that’s sprinkled with a little bit of magic, perfect for fans of Ashley Poston. I enjoyed the fact that Noel and Jamie had a “chance” meeting on a rooftop and then don’t see each other for two years, when they unexpectedly come back into each other’s lives in a very unique way. I loved the individual growth of both Noel and Jamie as well as their undeniable chemistry as a couple. No wonder Noel fell for Jamie like she did, he for sure had me swooning! And as a numbers person, I was very interested in learning about Jamie’s dyscalculia.

Noel Kasey doesn’t believe in fate until a joke fortune telling at a party gives her a vivid vision of a stranger’s future, including a romantic moment between them. Spooked, she walks away and tries to forget it ever happened. But two years later, that same stranger, Jamie Bishop, shows up on her doorstep, convinced she’s his destined guide. As they reconnect and feelings grow, Noel must face the possibility that the future isn’t just about what is, but what could be.

This was such a charming and magical read, and it was my first time reading anything by Lauren H Mae - new to me author.
I really loved the characters! Noel was super cute and quirky, and Jamie was so calm and steady, totally the kind of person you’d want to lean on in real life.
The story touches on some deeper themes like grief, self-discovery, and complicated family dynamics. There’s also some ADHD rep, which I really appreciated.
Overall, it was sweet, swoony, and had just the right amount of heart and magic. A cozy little escape, and I’m already looking forward to reading more from this author!

Thank you NetGalley and Lauren H Mae for the ARC!!

Thank you, Lauren H. Mae for the ARC of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 on NetGalley!

"Dreams and nightmares are made of the exact same stuff. The only thing that separates them is how much of yourself you’re willing to lose in the chase."

I LOVED this book so much that I pre-ordered the paperback after reading the first few chapters. I was looking for a little bit of magic, and I found it in The Fate Factor.

This book was pure joy to me. I loved Jamie and Noel. I loved the way they met and the way everything fell into place. Their friendship and relationship was a slow burn 🔥 and that's my favorite element of a romance book.

There were some poignant moments for Noel while she dealt with some family drama, but most of this book was very funny and very upbeat.

I highly recommend 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳! I also recommend pre-ordering from Grump & Sunshine because you get some fun goodies to go with the book. 🧡🩵

I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy for review purposes from NetGalley and Lauren H Mae and this review is all on me and what I personally think. This book truly was a one of kind experience that was such a cute romance novel to read on the weekend. I truly loved that the setting of this book was in Portland and it’s one of my favorite locations to read about in books (reminds me of twilight 😅).

This book is about Noel and Jaime, who meet at a party and Noel ends up giving Jaime what his future would be like. Although it started as a stranger meet cute, they end up meeting again two years later. And the way the slow burn happens in the book truly had me at the edge of my seat. I was rooting for them to get together the moment they saw each other but of course they took their time to realize what they felt for each other. This was such a cute romance novel that was full of magic, fate and a slow burn romance 💝

Josie and Jamie meet at a party and while she is pretend to tell him his future she sees what will happen in his life and she is in it . She only tells him about what he has to know and about them she keep it to herself . Two years ago she is back to her grandmother's house and she come face to face with Jamie on the first night . Jamie built his business thanks to her prediction and his successful , Now he needs from her one more to tell him his future because of has to make a business choice . She is negative but he wants them to at least be friends . When her visions became reality she can't resist him but when few things are different she is back questioning everything . Will she give them a chance to be together as her soul wants ?
I received this book from netgalley , the author and the publisher as an ARC . Thank you . All thoughts and opinions are my own .
