Really great book to help you focus on your prayer and realize the true power within it. It's very easy to read as He includes several stories in each chapter, helping to relate to each biblical character and showing the benefits of True, Genuine, Thoughtful prayer. Really great read, and I would highly recommend to all teenagers struggling with simply going through the motions of their faith and wanting to truly commit and live it out!

The way I see it, since prayer is so very important and yet so very difficult, reading books that help us pray are among the most important books we read. I’ve gone through this book twice now, and really benefitted from it. J.B. has a way of bringing you right into the story of the biblical character and then bringing you out with specific principles of prayer to apply in life. My favorite chapter was the one of Jabez. Now I understand the true meaning and significance of the prayer of Jabez (1 Chron. 4:9-10). Sadly, this prayer has been so abused by some Bible teachers and intentionally ignored by others, but J.B. presents it with exegetical accuracy and brings out such a powerful application of praying bigger and bolder prayers for the advance of Christ’s kingdom. I thank God for my friend J.B. and this inspiring devotional on prayer.

I so enjoyed reading Hear Them Pray! It not only makes biblical prayers come alive but also gives you nuggets of practical truth to apply to daily life and practice in prayer. Even after I finished the book, I want to read it again and continue to work to apply the truths I gleaned from its pages. I would definitely recommend Hear Them Pray for devotional reading!

This book really opened my eyes to how much I was missing in prayer, especially when it came to recognizing who I am praying too; and the fact that interceding for others actually works!
