This demon lord has claimed me as his...
And I hate him for it.

Olvaar rips me away from my life.
He says I’m his payment for my father’s debt.
But I won't break. I won't submit.

Even if we both want me to.

I hate how he looks at me. How he dares to touch me.
How much I start to want him.
He's a monster. One that I hate…

So why do I crave him?

I fight him at every turn, but...
Hate and want are starting to feel the same.

I'm falling for the enemy.

Olvaar may have claimed my life.
And I'll be damned if I let him claim my soul…

But he might rip it away as his own.
Whether I want him to or not.

Read on a scorching tale of how defiance…can turn into so much more. Where hatred ignites into love, and enemies can’t leave without each other. In a world of demons and darkness, she'll have to choose between the life she knew and the love she never expected. He took her as a prize, but she might just become his downfall.

Celeste King is the author behind the Worlds of Protheka, a collection of interconnected series that promise dark fantasy, intense romance, and washboard abs. When it comes to her stories, there are sure to brooding alphas, sassy humans, and plenty of spice to look forward to.

With the ever growing fantasy worlds, the 'what ifs' are endless, and that is what excites her the most. Even she doesn't know just how far these characters will go, but she's gladly along for the ride.

You can always find her fearlessly diving into an adventure (in this world or another), typically with her husband, and partner in crime, at her side.

She helps keep the excitement alive for the rest us with each of her Prothekan works, where there are no heroes coming to save you and being kidnapped...isn't so bad when your captor is this hot.

well written, slow build and political. A very sassy lady slowly falling for her captor. Ends quite abruptly.

I love a story of big bad who has a soft spot for the little human. He’s powerful, intelligent and full of magic. She strong, confident and bravely stands up to her “big bad”. Strong feelings develop and HEA occurs. Love it!

This enjoyable Protheka story is about Lady Astrid our human and (V) Olvaar our soz'garoth demon (Lich). Astrid is monitoring the party her adopted demon father, Ilreth, is giving when she saves a servant girl from being manhandled by Lord Kravix. Then Olvaar Ilreth's rival bursts into the room demanding to see him. Olvaar demands from Ilreth the money he owes him when he sees Astrid standing by her sister Athena. Olvaard demands Astrid as payment. What occurs afterward when Astrid is taken is an engaging story as Astrid is defiant to Olvaard to appreciate him was enjoyable to read. Astrid and Olvaard were likable characters in this copy I'd received and volunteer to read and review.

I've been binging on this author for weeks now and so excited each time, a new story drops! This time I started with this tale, with Astrid and Olvaar. Astrid ends up as his, to settle a debt. I enjoyed the relationship that developed between these two, yet another great read. :D

this was a cute, quick little book. there's a bit of plot, a bit of demon politics, a bit of mating, a bit of spice and a bit of touch her and die. iwant more from there's characters, not that they were written badly, but its only 200pages, i could quite happily shit through 300-400 pages of Olvaar falling for Astrid and her learning to trust.

The cover of this book is gorgeous. However, she never wears chains at any time in the book. So I felt cheated.

It is enemies to lovers. He never touches her. He waits for her permission.

I liked it.
