Karen's Affair

Rate this book
DANGEROUS ROMANCE

Karen and Amber are both in their thirties and work together in the Paddington area of London. Amber has been in love with her colleague, Richard, for years, but he has never taken any notice of her. Karen is married and has a teenage daughter, Molly. Because Karen is bored with her marriage she has been conducting an affair for some months. Her lover is exciting, dynamic and passionate. Karen is sure she has married the wrong man and has high hopes that she and her lover will soon be together permanently.

When Amber begins to suspect that Karen is seeing someone she tries to convince her to end the affair, warning her that some extra-marital affairs can cause terrible harm. Amber is unaware that she will be one of the casualties of Karen’s liaison herself. Head-strong Karen decides to ignore her friend’s advice.

Following the break-up of Karen’s marriage, her daughter tells her she does not want to see her any more; so Karen is delighted when Molly eventually agrees to come and meet her partner. But when this happens, events transpire which come as a terrible shock to both mother and daughter, and Karen's life is left in tatters. Her all-consuming rage impels her to try to wreak revenge on her ex-lover - with devastating results.

This compelling story has a strong dark side to it and is ideal for those lovers of romantic fiction who also enjoy an element of intrigue, high drama and, of course, a twist in the tale!

I want to say that I liked it well enough but it certainly had a lot of contradictions in it as well. She's unhappy in her marriage so she has an affair which, inevitably blows up in her face. I mean, that is not a big shocker at all to me. I don't really enjoy this sort of a book unless there is personal growth in it and to be frank, it doesn't feel like there is any at all.

Things happen. People change and grow away from one another. I can absolutely believe and get behind the idea of separating from that person simply because there is no love anymore. But for me, this felt like more of a cheating to cheat kind of thing? Maybe I did not understand the story in all, but that's just one person's opinion.

Karen is unhappy in her marriage and has found consolation in a lover. She feels she has married the wrong man and when it blows up in her face it has drastic effects which has her going off the deep end. Her best friend tried to warn her and now Karne as to face the consequences of her bad decisions. This poignant story drew me in and had me all caught up in the characters from start to finish.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.

A wonderful read about the lives of two women who work together in an office. One of them is having an affair and things are about to blow up in her face. They will meet the other with her lover before it blows up and now she wants revenge but it could end badly or will it? See how it will end
I received an advance copy from hidden gems and was quickly pulled into their tale

Great read about two female co-workers. One is married and having an affair, which as expected blows up in her face. I did not expect the plot twist in the end.
I received this book for free and am happy to leave a review.

It was a decent read. Didn't see the plot twist coming. Some mistakes, I listed those in my Amazon review, but nothing that detracted from the story. I'm not quite sure why Simon did what he did other than he was just crazy? So that was a little strange but overall the book held my attention.
