Well… for everyone but herself. And lately, it isn’t just her dating life that has her fuming in frustration. A misfortune has just landed Gemma without an apartment, so when a chance encounter with a real estate tycoon hands her a shiny new apartment at a price she can afford, Gemma takes it without another thought. It isn’t until she is dragged naked from the shower that Gemma finds out this apartment is already taken… by the person she hates the most.
Knox Rook has met his match.
His manipulative mother has finally found a way to bind him to a woman, and it’s none other than the snarky matchmaker from his office building, Gemma Daise. Their lease stipulates they must live together for two years or get married. As Knox struggles to unravel the legal mess, he realizes something He desperately wants Gemma.
The longer they live together, the more Knox finds himself wanting to silence Gemma’s sarcasm with his lips and wrap her soft body around his. As their passion grows, so do the stakes, putting their boundaries to the test and begging the question… freedom or touch?
Devon is a published author who lives in the mountains of Wyoming with her husband, their seven children, and a menagerie of animals. Devon's favorite thing is writing in silence with a good playlist on in the background, but she will settle for her usual ambiance of bickering children, barking dogs, and cheerio crumbs under her butt.
She has a Bachelors of Science from Brigham Young Universtiy-Idaho, and her currently published works include Lunula, Inito, K-Love, and Faie and Fury.
This was seriously such an enjoyable read. I really loved Gemma and how much of a spitfire she is. Fiery and ready to give as good as she gets with a big heart as learned by the fact that she ends up with an entire farm in like the middle of a city. I also love her sidekick Tiny who is obviously ironically named.
Knox is a jerk on the surface but his inner monologue is so pure, and the fact that hes an OBGYN who cares about his patients and their wants 🫠 His "Not Friends" chat with the other residents is absolutely great and a perfect comic relief.
The slow growing friendship to "love" in this book was excellently done. There was no insta love, it was a slow realistic plot with the added comic of the "housemate" list. When the spice hits, it hits. Knox is super protective and we get to see just how much towards the end of the book. One thing you may not be expecting [especially looking at the book cover] is that this book isnt a traditional rom-com, it does get a little dark towards the end [dark in the sense of a normal rom-com] so make sure you check the trigger warnings.
While there is miscommunication, its minor and doesnt really lead to a 3rd act breakup which gives it infinite amount of stars in my book. Ive had enough of that nonsense to last me a lifetime lately. I love this book so much, Im going to go and read the rest of Devon's backlog to hold me over until the next book!
Thank you so much, Devon, for the opportunity to ARC read book 2 of the Kiss-Met series. From the moment we met Gemma and Rook in book 1, I was seriously hoping for a book of their own! Needless to say, this read did not disappoint.
I've quickly come to realize that I'm a huge fan of Devon's writing style and will quite literally read anything this woman writes... her ability to mix true, genuine humor with deep, meaningful romance is incredible. Her characters are always so unique and so enjoyable, the dialogue always feels natural, the storylines are always well-paced, and you never know what element of surprise she's going to throw in there... in this book, farm animals?! You had me at rescue sheep!
On a more serious note, what I love most about Devon's writing is her ability to give you just a glimpse of a character and then take that and just run with it, taking you on a true journey of character development. We met Gemma as a carefree, bubbly bestie... but she turned into a deeply emotional woman trying to balance independence and the craving for human connection. We met Rook as an awkward, sterile doctor... but he turned into a man so rooted in his own trauma that he felt undeserving of love and happiness. Together, they were able to break the confines of their own minds and take us on a love story that had me kicking my feet in pure enjoyment and rooting for the craziness the entire time. I loved every moment of their story and I LOVED the new side characters, as well!
If you love: - forced proximity - fake marriage - grumpy x sunshine - enemies to lovers - cute animal side characters - true ROMCOM elements - overcoming past traumas - just a hint of danger - and of course, SPICEEEEEE.... then this book is for you
I cannot recommend book 2 of the Kiss-Met series enough. Here's to hoping we get an Arabella x Spencer story for book 3 ;) a pediatrician and a veterinarian? Say less, I'm in.
I absolutely loved Touch Me Doc! Gemma and Knox are such a fun, fiery pair. Gemma, the matchmaker who can’t seem to get her own love life together, is smart, sarcastic, and relatable. And Knox, the brooding real estate tycoon, is the perfect match to her sass. Their forced living situation leads to some hilarious moments, but the slow-burn romance between them is what kept me turning pages.
The chemistry is off the charts, and while the plot is a bit predictable, the characters’ growth and the witty banter made up for it. If you enjoy enemies-to-lovers stories with a lot of heat and humor, this one is definitely for you!
Touch Me, Doc by Devon Atwood is part of the Kiss-Met Series. I’m already a huge fan of this author so whenever there’s a new book it’s an automatic read for me. But this being and enemies to lovers rom-com just sealed the deal even more. What an incredible book, I loved it so much. In fact I read this book in a day because at no point did I even consider putting my kindle down. These had to be some of my favorite characters written in a long time. Gemma and Knox are different but same… at the same time. My favorite things hands down was the chemistry and banter between the two. It was seriously top tier reading. Not only that but I related to Gemma in ways I can’t even describe. There were times I felt my heart not only beat a bit quicker but also want to crack. But at the same time there were times I felt my smile and wanted to giggle. It was such a great and fulfilling story that was just attention getting. I thought it was written fantastic with such an addictive plot that just gives you one more chapter syndrome. I would recommend reading the book before as these characters make an appearance in there but it’s not needed to enjoy this story. I’m excited to see/read the next one in the series. I highly recommend not only this book but all the other books by this author as she is an incredible writer. Two thumbs way up!
Tropes: Rules Grumpy X Sunshine Forced proximity Enimes to lovers Doctor X Matchmaker Tied up (shibari) Bonus: There's a dog and a sheep
Devon writes continual breath taking moments suspended on tension. Nothing less than captivating. It's as if you're choking on the love she writes. She pairs this with witty banter and well timed jokes and collection of characters that almost feel like family.
Touch Me Doc, is down to its basics as oops it's a bottle episode. Where 2 extremely hot people (plus a dog) have to navigate and constantly suppress how hot they are for each other. IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. They work in the same building and they live in the same apartment oops also 1 bed (tehe)
Gemma needs a place to live and is tricked into moving into a too good to be true apartment, which happens to be already occupied by the landlord's son, Dr Knox Rook Oops 🤭
One of them desperately wants to loved and touched where the other desperately want's nothing to do with it.
I absolutely loved Touch Me, Doc! Devon Atwood knocked it out of the park with this one. The story is fun, emotional, and just the right amount of steamy. The characters have amazing chemistry, and I was hooked from the first page. It’s the kind of book that makes you stay up way too late because you have to know what happens next. If you’re into romance with humor, heart, and some spice, this is definitely a must-read!
A perfect combo of story and spice and drama and character development. ... and did I mention spice?! Definitely read this... and book 1 and all the other books by this author!
I loved Gemma and Knox. Their early interactions were so good and set so much. Them becoming close was so good! Some of it was crazy but it showed so much. The chemistry was great and it was well written.
Well, I adored this book. Devon has quite a way of writing these super quirky characters well, the books as a whole are quirky... but in like the best way possible. The craziest stuff happens. Like in every book. Things I never could have imagined and things I've never seen since, in other books. So, if you're tired of the same stuff on repeat, do yourself a favor and pick up her books.
Knox and Gemma were definitely what I would call opposites, but in the way that they are very much the same- they just deal with their ish, in opposite ways. We have seen the opening scene in this book, at the end of Ruths book and I couldn't wait to see how these two were going to come together, as it seemed like they HATED each other's guts- with a passion.
Gemma and Knox are what I would call, passionate. About everything they do. Which makes for some truly top shelf banter. Gemma, was a TOP SHELF- with Knox's mother. The lunch scene with her a Knox and his mother had me laughing out loud.
Likewise, there were parts that were so heartbreaking to witness.
I loved that we got to see a lot of our friends from the previous books and to get a glimpse at where they are at now.
I would have like a lot more in the department of Knox and his Monster, I mean Mother. For what that woman did, and what we suspect she's done to Knox's sister, the way that portion of the story line wrapped up was too fast for me and it was just swept under the rug. For the amount of scheming and conning that happened. I NEEDED MORE. I am not okay.
But would I recommend this book to a friend? uhm.... absolutely. I read this book in one sitting today. I simply couldn't put it down.
Here are some tropes that are at play: Doctor x Match Maker Meddling Family One Bed/ Rental gone wrong Mental Health rep Enemies to Lovers Fake Engagement Shibari Kink
PLEASE CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS- yes this is a Rom Com. But there is some pretty serious stuff on page- which I mentioned above and a few depictions in addition to that of childhood grooming.
⭐ 4.25 🌶️ 1.5 🥵 Spicy chapters: 19-20, 25 📚 Tropes/Themes: endometritis rep, marriage of convenience 👀 Dual POV 1st person 🩷 Something I liked: The scene where Sam and Rook go out to lunch with his mother- I was dying 🙈 Something I disliked: Gemma expecting Rook to touch her before they were a couple 🛍️ Available: Now! 🧠 Triggers: child death, surgery, grooming, attempted SA
💬 Okay so this book was hilarious. And I think I enjoyed it more than Kiss Me, Doc. The chemistry between Sam and Rook was just ✨ so good ✨, and the way they bantered back and forth with each other was just wonderful.
However, as I mentioned earlier I wasn't really a fan of how upset and confused she was that he wasn't touching her when they first moved in together. I getttttt she's a touchy person it's her love language, it's my love language too and they were dancing around their feelings and nobody had admitted to anything yet, but still it's just kinda weird to expect a supposedly platonic roommate to touch you.
Specific things that stood out to me that I enjoyed: As I mentioned the incredibly hilarious lunch scene with Sylvia, Spencer's fuck it moment and top tier chess pun on their date, the greenhouse scene 🥵💦 and while I'm not normally a fan of overly present animal story lines in books, I really enjoyed Mini.
I also really appreciated how more rational the third act drama is in this one. Like it's something that seems legit that could really happen. Is usually not a problem for me to suspend reality in books, but it's always nice when one is a little bit more realistic.
Fingers crossed that there's going to be a third book coming out, Hopefully it's going to be about Spencer and........Emma? Arabella??? Ugh, I could def sink my teeth into a brother's-bestie-second-chance-it's-always-been-you-forbidden-romance right about now 🫦
This book was such a fantastic read—I absolutely loved it! I enjoyed it even more than the first one, and there are a few reasons why.
First off, I adored Gemma as a character. She’s portrayed as a young woman who finds herself in a bit of a predicament due to her naivety and gullibility. But at the same time, she’s also incredibly strong, and that strength shines through in so many ways throughout the story. I also found her dynamic with her dog, Mini, absolutely adorable. The fact that she named a large-breed dog “Mini” is hilarious! And then there’s the moment when she literally has a lamb thrown at her—and instead of panicking, she just decides to take it home and raise it. By the end of the book, she even ends up with a cow! The way she just keeps unintentionally adopting animals is so funny and endearing.
Now, let’s talk about Knox. In the first book, he comes across as cold, disinterested, and entirely consumed by his own world. But in this book, as the main male lead, we really get to see his character development, and it’s done so well. He’s the classic grumpy guy who wants nothing to do with Gemma at first. But thanks to a series of events, they find themselves stuck in a living situation together and eventually agree to a fake engagement. Watching their relationship unfold was so entertaining. I especially loved how he becomes so protective of her and how she brings out a softer side of him. And the best part? He’s the one who falls first. That always gets me!
The book was full of humor, charm, and heart, and I could easily see myself rereading it. However, I do want to mention a heavy part of the story—there is a scene where Gemma is drugged in an attempt to subdue her, leading to an attempted assault. This was very triggering for me personally, so I strongly recommend checking the trigger warnings before reading.
That being said, this book was incredibly well-written, and I can’t wait to see what happens next with these characters!

I love Devon Atwood works but this one was not really what I look forward to in her books. I had some issues with this one and it made it difficult for me to enjoy it as much as her others. I mention all these things with a reminder, that this is simply my opinion and doesn’t take away from the actual story line. Honestly the main plot was still great and I loved the forced proximity and fake dating bit. What I had issues with were things like, aspects of the characters being mentioned that didn’t really seem meaningful to the plot. There were unrealistic scenarios that made specific things hard to believe (trying not to give away any spoilers because I still think it’s worth the read). When it came to the climax of the story, I was kind of confused why the FMC was even upset when she had been going along with it the whole time anyway…? I really *enjoyed* the danger aspect as it added just enough suspense for it to be real and made me more invested. What I didn’t understand was why the MMC did what he did. It made no sense to me why he was trying to care for him all by himself and why he wanted it all covered up. Not at all realistic and made me quite frustrated. I also found it odd that the k!nk was brought up several times but it really only entered the scene once. In the end it was a decent story and I always enjoy Devon’s banter. 3.5 stars from me.
Gemma is a soon to be evicted matchmaker working in the same building as OBGYN Knox. Through their brief early interactions, they appear to not be able to stand each other. Enter his meddling mother wanting to match him against his will. She, correctly, guesses that Gemma needs a place to live and swindles her into a lease to share Knox's apartment while he is out of town & completely unaware.
Be prepared to giggle, swoon, 🥵, and cry through various parts. The greenhouse scene? Ma'am!!
Be prepared to also want to throttle Knox's best friend...but we love a meddlesome BFF, right?!
I think a lot of us can relate to an overbearing & out of line MIL or future MIL, but Knox's mother definitely has met her match in Gemma and even her own son. They'll play her game, but they're playing it to win!
I'm not sure I've ever related to a FMC more than when she describes her body having taken a lot of tacos to create! Between her & Arabella's snark, I've met my spirit animals and already cannot wait for book 3! 👌😍
I adored Kiss Me, Doc and had this in my calendar to read upon release and boy am I glad I did. I adored Rook from Book 1 and his not-so-meet-cute with Gemma. Gemma is a chaotic mess throughout Touch Me, Doc and I loved every second of her POV. The story follows Gemma as she unknowingly get's conned by Rook's mother into moving in with him. The fine print of the lease she signs advises the only way to get out of the lease is to marry.
While Rook and Gemma initially aren't fond of their new arrangements, they quickly becomes friends and then more. Rook works to move past his prior traumas and introduces Gemma to the world of Shibari. I was squealing from Page 1 of this novel and genuinely delighted by every twist and turn.
I am dedicated to reading more of Devon's books in the future and am so intrigued by Kael's story.
How dare Devon make me question my loyalty to Dr. Brady! I didn't think it would have ever been possible for another book boyfriend to come close, but then here's Dr. Rook!
Sorry, I'll stop yelling now.
Any book I give 5 stars to means that I would read it again. All of Devon's rom-coms are 5 stars for me, this book being no different. The unique way she set up forced proximity (one of my favorite tropes) was original and well done.
Dr. Rook's toxic parents were done in such a way I had to remind myself that they're not real and I'm still safe on this side of the pages. No notes.
Gemma has some traits I find in myself which endeared me to her. Specifically the need to bring small farm animals into the house and ask forgiveness instead of permission.
The element of danger in this one was a great twist that I hadn't seen coming. I love when a twist catches me off guard.
I can't wait for the next book in this series. Keep it up, Devon.
If there is one thing Devon Atwood nails it’s writing fun, fast paced and delicious rom-coms.
Gemma is amazing at finding love…just more so for others instead of herself.
Dr. Rook is far too busy with his hectic schedules to even consider an attempt at a relationship, especially since he really doesn’t care for one.
but when a forced living situation pairs them together things slowly begin to change…
Knox is the perfect match to her sass and the banter and flirting between the two are top tier and when the spice hits…it hits 🌶️
if you’re looking for forced proximity, fake engagement book with a sassy fmc, a cold on the surface but soft Inside protective mmc and fun added banter from side characters than this is for you!!!
As always please check trigger warnings before any read.
So I'm thoroughly convinced that nobody writes witty banter in a rom-com better than Devon Atwood. She completely knocked this one out of the park which honestly at this point shouldn't surprise me, as I have yet to read a book of hers that I didn't just devour and thoroughly enjoy.
I'm a sucker for a spicy enemies to lovers forced proximity so this was definitely up my alley. As with any book please always be sure to check your trigger warnings.
I would also love to add that Rooks inner monologue was absolutely priceless. Also, kudos to Devon Atwood and big thanks from a gamer girl for having gamer girls featured in this book. I also thoroughly enjoyed getting to see some of the older characters from previous books in little Snippets that's always fun. I can't wait to see what comes next.
This is the second book in the Kiss-Met series, but it can be read as a standalone. Definitely read the first book, Kiss Me Doc though. This book is Gemma and Knox’s story. Gemma is an unlucky in love matchmaker who recently found herself without a place to live, and Knox is the grumpy hot doctor with a meddlesome mother that works in Gemma’s office building. I loved everything about this book. The writing is so good. There’s fun, lighthearted moments, but also darker and super spicy ones too. The tension between these two was palpable, so when they finally gave in to each other it was incredible. I really enjoyed the steady progression of their relationship, and how they were able to heal each other; to make each other better versions of themselves. Legitimately zero negatives. Loved every second. Highly recommend! 4.5⭐️ 3/5🌶️
I was waiting for Gemma and Knox since reading kiss me, doc (book 1 in the series) and they did not disappoint!!
Gemma is such a feisty but sweet soul and she sees the good in everyone. She has some things that happen to her and she doesn’t lose that and she doesn’t let it jade her the way some people might. She also comes with a Doberman ironically named Mini and I love it. There may also be other animals involved living in an apartment in the city.
Knox is the grumpy doctor who keeps everyone at arms length until Gemma becomes his roommate thanks to his mom and she turns his world upside down. He turns into this sweet, swooney, protective guy for her and he goes after what he wants.
I love all things Devon writes!! I read any and everything she releases. She always has the witty banter and the spice! But don’t take my word for it, go read!!
I wasn't sure what to think going into Gemma and Rook's story... how are you going to make a girl fall in love with the guy who let her run into a wall to avoid touching her?
But have no fear, Devon Atwood made it happen! And in the end, I had totally fallen for Rook, too. The backstories on these characters were unexpected. Their mutual family trauma brought them together, and the way they Just Fit.
I loved that she was the gamer of the two of them - it's so much more common to be the male character - and her online BFF also being a female gamer - loved that. I also enjoyed getting to catch up with Ruth and Cal, and getting to know more of their mutual friends through this book.
This is book two in the Kiss-Met series, it can be read as a standalone, but I loved knowing the background of the previous couples mentioned. I really enjoyed this spicy forced proximity Rom-Com but check your trigger warnings if you need to. Dr. Knox Rook comes off as the grumpy uncaring guy, but his inner monologue is priceless. Gemma Daise is a matchmaker who has to find a new living situation. When you get a roommate the first thing you do is come up a with a list of rules, but they aren't always easy to abide by. If you're into enemies to lovers, witty banter, forced proximity, he falls first, touch her and die, grumpy sunshine, lots of rules, Shibari, cute animals then you're going to want to get this one.
-Forced Proximity -Grumpy vs. Sunshine -Dual POV -Matchmaker -Enemies to Lovers
Oh. My. Sweet. Goodness. This was fantastic. Start to finish. Gemma and Rook are a hilariously underrated couple. I loved Gemma from the moment we met her in “Kiss Me, Doc” and was so excited when I found out she was getting her story. Rook is something else. He really blossoms as a character and his charm is whipped out real fast. But together the two of them are amazing. They have this sweet dynamic and I loved it. I never wanted their story to end. The chapters are short and sweet and packed with spíce. At some parts I felt like I was on a roller coaster and I couldn’t have told you what was coming next.
I definitely recommend checking the TW’s prior to reading because there are a few spots that not everyone is comfortable with.
"I have a photographic memory. And you are picture perfect."
She does it again! So obsessed with this authors books. They never fail to make me smile. I also loved that we got some cameos of characters from her last romcom series. I loved getting to see them again and has now made me want to read them again! Knox and Gem are so good together and I want more of them! Both have a lot of trauma from their parents. I'm glad that they have found someone to help them work through it together. I think the garden scene was one of my favorite parts of the book. It's where they both finally start giving in to their feelings and trusting each other. If you love romcoms that's will make you laugh and have you invested in their story then definitely give her books a try.
Let me tell you, I was SO excited when the next Devon Atwood book landed in my inbox. I always know I’m in for a good time! I stayed up until 3 am to finish this book because I absolutely could not put it down. Touch Me Doc had me laughing, it had me wanting to strangle Knox and Gemma for not just expressing their feelings, and squealing and kicking my feet at the pure sweetness of it all. Definitely check some trigger warnings on this one- while nothing crazy or dark I can see how some people might have a hard time with some of the subject matter. I recommend Devon Atwood to anyone looking for a new romance series to start. Her books are just fun to read Thank you so much to the author for an ARC of Touch Me, Doc in exchange for my honest review! 💜
She did it again. Five stars for Touch Me, Doc!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely love this couple. Knox is such a golden retriever under that tough guy exterior. Gemma is such a warm soul and I love the banter she has with Knox.
I was sucked in from the start, but I always am with Devon’s Books!!! She has a way with words, with banter, with making the situations realistic and relatable to real life. She also sneaks in some spicy things that get the wheels turning.
I laughed, I gasped, I cried. I LOVED this book and you will too!!
Thanks so much to Devon Atwood for once again allowing me to read this advanced copy of Touch Me, Doc!!
Always a fun read when it comes to Devon Atwood's new books. Gemma works at kiss-met, a match making company that pairs couples together and Knox Rook is an OB/GYN who's office is the floor below Gemma's. They've never interacted much with each other until Gemma drops her bra cups on the elevator floor next to Knox and then his mother storms into her office offering her a place to live. There was a lot of tension built up into these characters which made it all the more exciting. Knox really seemed to care for Gemma from the start which made me love him even more. I loved being able to immerse myself back into this world and I can't wait for the next!
Spice, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, enemies-ish to lovers, humor, past trauma, adorable side characters, and a HEA - check ✅
I am Gemma. Gemma is me. It’s impossible not to fall in love with her and all her little quirks. If there was anyone that could bring a hard pressed man to his knees, it’s her.
Rook was not so easy to love. Once you learn more about him, his dynamic, and his past pieces start to fit together. Gemma teaches him to love touch as much as she craves it and it’s a beautiful thing to read.
I would have loved to have heard the conversation he had at the end with his vindictive mother.
