When a fire-bomber puts downtown Columbus on edge, news journalist Addie Kingston is determined to uncover the truth behind the attacks. But as her investigation intensifies, she realizes the arsonist has shifted his focus—now, he’s stalking her.
Addie’s search leads her to Severn Moran, a taciturn private investigator with a shadowy past and expertise in bomb-related cases. Initially suspecting Severn might be the very arsonist she’s hunting, she soon learns of his tragic history as a former bomb disposal expert, scarred by an explosion that ended his military career.
Reluctantly, Severn agrees to help track down the arsonist, but his primary goal becomes protecting Addie. To draw the bomber’s attention away from her, Severn poses as her significant other. This charade forces them into close quarters, and as the threat looms larger, their undeniable attraction complicates their mission.
With the bomber’s twisted game escalating, Addie and Severn must navigate their growing feelings while racing against time to thwart his final, catastrophic plan. Can Addie trust the man she once suspected, or will their budding romance become the ultimate distraction in a deadly game of cat and mouse?
NY Times and USA Today Bestselling author J.M. Madden writes compelling romances between 'combat modified' military men and the women who love them. J.M. Madden loves any and all good love stories, most particularly her own. She has two beautiful children and a husband who always keeps her on her toes.
J.M. was a Deputy Sheriff in Ohio for nine years, until hubby moved the clan to Kentucky. When not chasing the family around, she's at the computer, reading and writing, perfecting her craft. She occasionally takes breaks to feed her animal horde and is trying to control her office-supply addiction, but both tasks are uphill battles. Happily, she is writing full-time and always has several projects in the works. She also dearly loves to hear from readers! So, drop her a line. She'll respond.
This one was interesting A quick start, that might have gone wrong if Severn couldn't prove right away he wasn't the arsonist. This led him to become Allie's bodyguard and we all know what will happen next, especially in this series.
It was fun to see Allie and Severn get to know each other while being forced together, Allie wasn't all that warm and fuzzy at first, understandable considering what was going on. But the more that they got to know each other the more the attraction grew. They were able to build a relationship while also going after the bad guy. It did get dicey at times, especially at the end when they were under a deadline. Luckily they knew enough to help the bad guy do himself in and our couple could start something new without this threat hanging over them.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading this book! Severn Moran is a veteran that works for Lost and Found: Columbus. He has just been tasked with being a bodyguard for Addison Kingston. To say he is less than thrilled is an understatement. Addison Kingston is a reporter for a local TV station in Columbus, Ohio. When fires start being set all over the city, Addison is assigned to the story. Severn is there to make sure that she's safe from the seemingly random things that have been happening to her. When things are about to blow sky high, will Severn be able to save Addie in time, so they can get the HEA they deserve? Get this book ASAP and find out. Sorry, no spoilers.
Outstanding! Arsonist on the loose but Severn and Addie are on the case. She’s the reporter dreaming of running her own station but willing to do the grunt work when needed. He’s the PI/bodyguard from Lost and Found Investigations assigned to her and these fires. They have almost an instant connection, but work comes first until their own fires burn. Predictable, yes. Fun and sexy, yes. Handsome scarred guy with the guts do whatever it takes, yes for days. There are other books to this series but each has its own couple and suspense. I read this in two days and loved it! I got it as an advanced copy and I’m thrilled to leave my voluntary review.
Fantastic addition to the List and Found Columbus series
What do you do when you're working as media news reporter and there's a warehouse fire and you receive a text from the possible arsonist? Addie wants to be a news station reporter but not with a bomber bent on revenge for against police and fire personnel. So when the police detectives bring in Severn a former bomb disposal tech for the Navy who was injured by an insurgent in Afghanistan. Not only does he know how to read a bomber but they'll both have to figure the why and the who is setting fires and placing bombs around Columbus before its too late.
I loved this book and how the author gives each combat modified veteran a story with their HEA ending.
This book, like all of J.M. Madden's books, is a joy to read. I love the depth and realness of her characters and how they develop their connections. She makes her "combat modified" warriors very real and believeable. Both the male and female main characters are people I'd like to know. They face their problems the with a practicality and honesty I find refreshing. I like that Addie sees Severn, not as someone to pity, but for the vital, qualified man that he is and doesn't hesitate to tell him so. I've been reading this author since she first published and you won't find one any better. You can always count on a book by her to be interesting and exciting. Well worth the time and money.
“Thanks for not making a big deal about my scars.”
Just take my heart out and stomp on it! A firebug is loose in Columbus and he has targeted local reporter Addie. Can Severn keep her safe and catch him at the same time?
It drove me crazy trying to figure out who the bad guy was, and I fell in love not only with Addie and Sev but also with the secondary characters. It was great to see Parker and some of the other LnF guys again. Go get this book! You need to read it and I need JM to get busy writing the next one.
A page turning addition to the Lost and Found Columbus series that will have you on edge. There is an arsonist in town going after law enforcement buildings and trying to impress a news reporter. Severn from Lost and Found becomes Addie's bodyguard and soon they are playing a cat and mouse game trying to find the arsonist before more people die. JM Madden never disappoints with her suspenseful romantic stories. You will not want to put this one down. 5 Star read.
I love ALL of JM Maddens books. They never disappoint.. They are always interesting, down to earth and come with a story that the book revolves around. It gives you a moment in time to deeply involve your heart in a romantic, suspenseful true life journey into the circumstances of veterans everywhere, the sacrifices they've made in life, how they deal with it and although its not always a HEA JM Madden makes the journey worth our time!! Great story💥💥
This might be my favorite book in the Lost and Found Columbus series. Addie is a reporter that has an arsonist sending her notes. Severn ends up helping on the case. He ends up protecting her physically and with his heart. I love these two characters. Severn finally finds somebody that can see past his scars. Addie can be herself. Their happily ever after is an exciting story filled with twists and turns. JM Madden did a great job with this story. I couldn’t put it down!
This book, like all of Lost and Found, kept me on the edge of my seat. Reporter Addie Kingston, a compassionate seeker of the human side of the news, finds herself the focus of a mad bomber. Severn Moran of Lost and Found finds himself drawn to her as they work together against the clock to stop the bombings. What a ride! I recommend it highly.
As always JM Madden gives us a great story with characters you can’t help but fall for. Severn and Addisons story was so good. These two characters are meant for one another. Their story is one that will warm your heart. Madden brings heat and heart to all her stories. Highly recommended.
I loved the way this book progressed. Severn and Addie played their cards to perfection. I felt heartbroken when their were casualties but the win. Yeah, it was sweet satisfaction.
Never underestimate people. They are smarter and warmer than what, you think.
Another winner from J.M. Madden. The heroes and what they have survived always touches your heart. This was quite suspenseful with an arsonist on the loose in Columbus. This story is what you call unputdownable.
News journalist Addie Kingston is trying to find the reason between a series of arsons in Columbus. She has seen Severn Moran at a fire and is attracted to him but thinks he might be the fire starter. He is able to clear himself and ends up as her bodyguard.
A psychopath with visions of fiery greatness and an unhealthy obsession with a local on-sight TV reporter. The monster just wants to be recognized! Fantastic read. Very highly recommend.
Another fantastic addition to the Lost and Found series. This is book 4 in the LNF Columbus series and is a page turner from the start. It's a romance wrapped in a mystery that had me enthralled from the first page. The characters are well written, the tale engaging from the first page and it was a rollercoaster ride till the end. I will be reading this one again. Enjoy!
