I’m the heir to the Rossi empire, and all that entails. Scheming. Rackets. Murder.
War.
When my father sends me to LA for my first solo mission, I’m ready to do whatever it takes to succeed.
The problem?
Sloane Brennan. My one-time best friend and the girl who stole my heart. Also, daughter of my father’s enemy.
It turns out she’s in LA, too, and she’s in trouble. Not that it’s any of my business.
I don’t here to be anyone’s hero, and I don’t have time for games.
Even when they’re the kind I really like to play.
SLOANE
Joseph Rossi. The boy who used to be my best friend. The one I secretly thought I’d grow up to marry.
He’s the furthest thing from my mind now that I live in LA. Until he shows up on the beach—my beach—and starts acting like he owns me.
He obviously doesn’t realize I’m no longer his problem. And I’m not his property. Not that I ever was. These days, we live worlds apart.
And getting too close to him will just put me in danger.
From the people he works with. His father. Joseph, himself.
My heart might want him. My brain knows I can’t risk it.
I’m too smart to take that chance.
His Obsession is the first book in Sloane and Joseph's story, which continues in Her Romeo and finishes in Her Hero. The book includes Romeo and Juliet themes, kidnapping, car chases, stalkers, and heroes, plus enough tension and spice to make you want a Joseph Rossi of your very own.
The Anniversary Collection features new edits and bonus scenes for this series, with special edition covers and sneak peeks at future books.
Although New York Rossi is a series, each couple’s story contains a full plot and can be read separately. Suggested reading order is His Obsession, Her Romeo, Her Hero, Her Target,Her Keeper,HerRebellion, and Her Master, but His Obsession, Her Romeo, Her Target, and Her Rebellion are all entry points to the series. Supplementary books to the series are Dare You and Tell Me, which take place inside the series with a secondary character.
Quinn Marlowe is a fan of red wine, cheesecake, perfect hash browns, and really good punk rock. She’s also obsessed with everything piratical—though she refuses to acknowledge any actual connection to pirates. She studied English and Film at UCLA and, when forced to choose a career, chose publishing rather than teaching or being a film maker. Quinn lives in San Diego with her husband, dogs, and far too many cats.
Her Romeo is Quinn’s first book, though she hopes it will be followed by many more.

This mafia book was an amazing read from beginning to end. The chemistry between Joseph and Sloane is smoking hot. The storyline is very entertaining and makes you sit on the edge of your seat while reading it. Quinn Marlowe is a brilliant author and this is a perfect example.
Mafia romances are definitely my guilty pleasure. I don't read enough of them but when I do, I'll read a whole wattpad book and become engrossed in it for hours on end. This book is no different. At 122 pages long, this is a prequel to The Rossi Family series. This story follows Sloane, daughter of the Irish Mob Boss, and Joseph, son of the Italian Mob Boss as they reunite for the first time since they graduated five years before.
Sloane and Joseph's families are enemies so this definitely gave me Romeo and Juliet vibes (just without the death and very concerning age gap) which I am here for and absolutely loved. I read this story in a couple of hours and definitely wished it was much longer. This is an extended anniversary edition of the original prequel with more content of the couple I love so much and I can't wait to see the revamp of the rest of the series
This is the first book in the New York Rogues: Rossi Anniversary Collection and it is Joseph and Sloane’s story with some new additions and bonus scenes to keep one entertained. It feels like a modern-day Romeo and Juliette in some ways. These two were best friends when they were young but unfortunately, they come from rival families so their relationship was kept secret. As they grew up, they lost touch only to reconnect in the most surprising way. Truth be told they should still be staying away from each other but there is an inexplicable pull between them, and the heart wants what the heart wants. If you enjoy a forbidden mafia read this is one to add to your shelf.
Why do authors feel the need to copy and paste the same sentences into every chapter? I read it once from both.main characters point of view. I don't need to keep reading it. Especially twice in the last chapter. I get it. I got it the first time He's a Rossi and she's a Brennan. His dad had him beaten up for being friends with her. They used to be best friend's. They haven't seen each other for 5 years. They accidentally meet up again and he follows her because she's being followed. They accidently fall into bed and whilst she's falling in love he's leaving without a note or goodbye. I'd be pissed about that too!
The tragic story of Romeo and Juliette was that she was only 13. Sloane was 18 and 23. These are not the same story.
This was a nice palette-cleansing short read. Which is what I was looking for. I'd say definite Romeo and Juliet vibes. It has one pretty spicy scene which was appropriate for the book's size. This is a mafia/best friends to lovers/ enemies to lovers type read. They've been best friends since childhood but now they're grown and things are getting steamy and they're the kids of rival mafia bosses. There were maybe 3 editing mistakes in the whole book. I've already gotten book 2 and I'll be reading it as soon as I finish this review, it's also a short read.
🖤 Book Review: His Obsession by Quinn Marlowe 💀 ⭐ 3.5/5 | 🌶️🌶️ | 📖 eBook | 121 pages ✨ Quick Dark Mafia Novella
Childhood friends turned enemies. A forbidden reunion during the holidays. And a possessive mafia heir who never really let go...
This mafia romance novella is short, steamy, and full of unresolved tension. While it felt a bit repetitive at times, the setup was strong enough to pull me into the next book. Think Romeo & Juliet, but with more bullets and brooding.
🖤 Tropes: enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, possessive MMC, mafia families, dual POV, he falls first 📚 Book 1 of the New York Rogues: Rossi series – 10 books in total 👀
This is Joseph and Sloane first book in their story. Joeseph and Sloane were best friends that had lost touch. Now they both are in LA and are on opposite sides. They both know they should stay away but their hearts have other ideas. If you love forbidden lovers mafia romance then will love this book.
It’s the first book in a series so I guess…? It has the makings But like nothing happened, it laid out the background on Joseph and Sloan. But the ending or the events didn’t captivate me enough to continue the series. I was okay for a quick read though!
For a mafia romance it didn't keep me on the edge of my seat. I do enjoy the childhood best friends to enemies trope. I do feel like it was a cheap move to leave without telling her anything. But overall, a fast and quick read!
I'm going to be entirely honest, I have no idea why these books aren't rated higher. I know my rating system probably seems harsh, but a three from me is solid. Usually books like this go bananas on TikTok. It's a sexy, well written, and highly entertaining dark mafia romance. How is this series not trending? Anyways...I'm officially invested in Joseph and Sloane's story and will absolutely continue this series.
