Oldest son in the Rossi family. Heir to the empire. Loyal to the family, over and above anyone else.
Even when it comes to murder. War. Kidnapping my best friend.
Sloane Brennan, daughter of the Irish mob boss, used to be my partner in crime. Now she’s forbidden fruit… and leverage. My father has ordered me to take her to Italy and turn her over to the man who will hold her hostage.
He thinks it’s simple.
I know it’s not.
Because nothing about Sloane is simple. And this trip just reminds me of everything I love about her. Her smell. Her sharp tongue. That red hair that I want to tangle my fingers in as I have my way with her.
My job is to transport Sloane and drop her off. Then get back home and collect my reward.
Falling in love with her again is not an option. What I want was never part of this deal.
And playing her hero now, when so much is at stake?
That’s just going to get us both killed.
SLOANE
I should have known better. I thought I could escape the mob. Get a degree. Work on the right side of the law.
But Joseph Rossi always has to make things complicated.
One day I’m doing my job, and the next I’ve been taken. Thrown on a plane and told to sit down and shut up, because I’m nothing more than a pawn in a game between powerful men. And Joseph Rossi, my one-time best friend and lover, is the guy doing the kidnapping.
But when we get to Italy, it becomes obvious that Joseph’s not the one in charge.
Equally He wants me just as badly as he ever has. And despite the betrayal, I haven’t forgotten the way his body feels. I should hate him. I should want to kill him for what he’s done.
I don’t.
And when everything goes sideways, I only have two either team up with the man who got me into this mess, or stay here and face the consequences of his mistakes.
I’m not ready to die. But I don’t know if I’m ready to trust Joseph Rossi, either.
Because the last time I trusted him, he broke my heart.
Her Romeo is the second book in Sloane and Joseph's story, which started in His Obsession and finishes in Her Hero. The book includes Romeo and Juliet themes, kidnapping, car chases, stalkers, and heroes, plus enough tension and spice to make you want a Joseph Rossi of your very own.
The Anniversary Collection features new edits and bonus scenes for this series, with special edition covers and sneak peeks at future books.
Although New York Rossi is a series, each couple’s story contains a full plot and can be read separately. Suggested reading order is His Obsession, Her Romeo, Her Hero, Her Target,Her Keeper,HerRebellion, and Her Master, but His Obsession, Her Romeo, Her Target, and Her Rebellion are all entry points to the series. Supplementary books to the series are Dare You and Tell Me, which take place inside the series with a secondary character.
Quinn Marlowe is a fan of red wine, cheesecake, perfect hash browns, and really good punk rock. She’s also obsessed with everything piratical—though she refuses to acknowledge any actual connection to pirates. She studied English and Film at UCLA and, when forced to choose a career, chose publishing rather than teaching or being a film maker. Quinn lives in San Diego with her husband, dogs, and far too many cats.
Her Romeo is Quinn’s first book, though she hopes it will be followed by many more.
This books lacks.content. Many of the word count comes from restating the same things over and over. I hate not to finish a book, but I became exhausted with the repetitions included.

So the first book was decent. This one was enjoyable at first. It started out strong and twisty and action-packed. But, then instead of continuing to heat up it kinda just went flat with very occasional spikes for me. Mostly I think this was because certain information between/about the mmc and fmc just got very repetitive. It was like this in the first book also but in the first book it was informative, helping to explain how they felt about each other and such but in this book, we've already gotten that from book 1 so there was too much of it in this one. My biggest issue though was the ending, it's kind of supposed to be a cliffhanger. Which I usually love, but I'm this book it was now just like they decided to end the book halfway through to me.
Great story. Joseph and Sloane were kids who were rival mafias but became best friends until Joseph’s father found out. Their friendship was over for years, they met up as Joseph saved her from an abusive ex/stalker. Can’t they fight with the drama and their feelings for each other to survive.
I gave this book 3 stars only because of the poor proof reading. Good story line, but I personally am not a fan of being left hanging at a critical moment. Not sure I'm ready for more of the same until I can get to the next book. But if you don't mind that, this book has potential. Sorry but I was disappointed.
Shit got super damn real for Sloane and Joseph. We have one more book (I think??) before they are supposed to get their happily ever after and I'm not sure how the hell they are going to pull themselves out of this shitstorm. They have the Romeo and Juliet thing going for them, but then they also have the Mafia thing going against them. Meaning it won't just be family drama if they are caught, but probably death for one (or both) of them. Still baffled at the ratings here. I'm thoroughly enjoying these books. You should definitely pick these up if you like dark romance.
Not a bad read. Cheesy Romeo/Juliet mob story. No urge to jump into the next book, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I picked it up down the line for a quick story.
