art is *chefs kiss* - near perfection. I enjoyed the pairing here and especially rokujou. my one complaint is the side characters are all terrible people (T_T) I liked the assistant guy at first but by the end he is encouraging the ceo to just bite her already and how it will force her to be his mate?? SIR. and then I really liked the other omega character…was hoping she would be a girls girl. but instead she turns out to be awful!!! I generally want a story with a strong romance but it makes the main characters feel more real if they have good friends around them, which this so far is lacking. overall though, good spice and romantic relationship so far, will def be continuing.

so this one was entertaining, not because the book was good, i don't expect the plot to be good for books like this, although i have read similar books with semi-decent writing, this one was like a slice of cake or a simple guilty pleasure. i do eat up a good stereotypical cheap storyline with "surprises" and this book was not lacking in that department. although i do have a lot of criticisms with this storyline, i'll start out with what I enjoyed.

the art style was nice; whoever does the sketches does a good job because it was done tastefully and it made up for the weird time-skips between the chapters and the random, cliche moments that are typical for these sorts of books.

i think that is all for the pros, which doesn't mean i have more criticisms. however, i do think my reasons for enjoying this book are not necessarily up for review. i think you should just read it for yourself and figure out if this is the type of stuff you enjoy (because i unfortunately enjoy this).

as for the cons, there was a lot of talk about consent, which gets thrown out the window a few seconds after it gets mentioned. i don't know if that's because the abo dynamics override your ability to think coherently but it was a running issue where it's hard to blur the lines between what is love and acting on your instincts. another think that did ick me a bit was that the progression of the relationship is going a bit too fast where both the leads are acquainted with each other rather quickly that we haven't crossed the stages where they're getting to know each other.

i don't get how takamura becomes set on uiko being his mate when they haven't even established a relationship and you could tell they're just using one another for their heats. the chemistry when they're intimate is there but when it comes to the office or even going on a date, i don't see how they would be compatible as a couple long-term.

overall, two and three fourth stars. i even think that's pretty high considering the fact that i'm complaining about the main integral component of the story. cover is four stars. i... like it.

while i do think the plot is predictable and not going anywhere, i will continue reading this because unfortunately this manga is the equivalent of giving candy to a toddler.

Quick read and it’s only volume one. Our ML and FL fall quickly in love and at first it might have been the plot line that they were not sure if it was because it was love or if it was their alpha and omega instincts. By the end they knew it was because they liked each other and it was just kinda quick that they got to that conclusion. There is a meddling assistant that makes it fun to read what he’s plotting to help Takamura win Uiko. There’s a scene where I can’t tell if Uiko’s coworker, who was caught with the assistant, is helping to get them together or if she’s that coworker that pretends to be nice but really is not. 🤔 Guess I’m gonna have to read volume 2. 🤷‍♀️😂

1.5 stars. Awkwardly written, with sudden scenes jumps before the current scene is wrapped up. Made the storyline hard to follow sometimes. And the jump would usually happen at a moment of tension or insight so that it felt like the author was avoiding writing through those moments.

These two characters are cardboard pieces with no personality and surface-level motivations. To invest in their romance, I needed to know more about them, why they work together, who they are outside of their omega/alpha designations.

Art was often too busy and crowded that it felt unpleasant to look at pages.

You know you're in for it when the book opens with a primer on subgenders. This was ok...I like Uiko's model design a lot and hope they let her keep the glasses. Story-wise...eh, it suffers from the same as a lot of the other omegaverse stuff right now in that it feels like the publishers are jumping on what's hot right now and grabbing a fistful of the tropes without engaging in the fandom/getting a feel for *why* readers like those particular tropes. The characters' motivations/hangups on being together get lost in the weeds pretty quick.

I'll give it another volume to see if it sorts itself out.

So good!! Love the story on this one and the art style is soo beautiful ~ that cliffhanger has me feral for vol 2 🥵 also, I really appreciate that the spicy scenes in this are not censored like a lot of other josei mangas. I feel like if I’m paying for the physical copies of these mangas it shouldn’t be censored! But anywho, really loved this one and I’d say it’s one of my favorite in the seven seasons steamship imprint ~ and I own almost every series in it so that’s saying a lot!!
