Jason Drake was the CIA’s most lethal operative. Now he’s a ghost—working in the shadows for the enemy. Because if he doesn’t follow their orders, his daughter dies.
Held under the Kremlin’s thumb, Drake is forced to eliminate political targets across Europe—each kill bringing the Russian president one step closer to rebuilding the Soviet empire.
The CIA suspects something is coming. But they don’t know who’s behind it. And they have no idea their former agent is at the center of it all.
The Assassin’s Daughter is a taut, high-stakes thriller about control, sacrifice, and the line between duty and survival. The only thing more dangerous than a man with nothing to lose… is one being forced to play for the wrong side.
This series of espionage thrillers is ready to shake you to the core and keep you reading late into the night. Auston's primary goal is to share stories that entertain, provoke, and leave you wanting more.
Are you ready to read the best thriller novel of 2025?
Auston King is the author name for an ex-intelligence officer who prefers to keep his anonymity about him. He's an avid reader, who has consumed every Tom Clancy, Brad Thor, Vince Flynn and Robert Ludlum book he could get his hands on and he wants to share stories that entertain, provoke, and leave you wanting more.
Not much past a 2.25. It opens with Jason having been captured by mercenaries for the Russians and he's pretty much drugged for almost half the book. Meanwhile, friends Colt & Graham from MI6 are being castigated for having caused millions in damage while helping Jason rescue his friend Sierra- who's at home dealing with PTSD from interrogations during her capture.
The Russians are leaderless and the current one coveting the presidency needs Jason to do his bidding and the only way is to find his daughter. Again more about the hunt for the daughter than actual Jason storyline. The last portion of the book, we finally see Jason in action, doing the Russian's bidding, finding his daughter and then disavowed by the US again.
Fast paced, loaded with action and intrigue that keep you turning pages. Auston keeps stepping up his game and this story is no exception! Jason Drake will be tested beyond anything to save his daughter and find out an ancient secret haunting him since childhood. Can he survive it all! Drake wil prevail!
More dramatically than I'm used to in a Drake novel with limited action. Ending started off well but kind of petered out.... typical with many books series they start to get a little stale but there was enough seeds dropped that the next book has the potential to evolve the story.
Outstanding Jason Drake page turner. Read this book in less than 5 days. Never wishing it to end, but Jason got one of two women back in his life. Hope the next book completes that journey.
I will say this is a long awaited follow on to this series. It was worth the wait, as it was quite exciting. Now that I finished this one, I find another wait.
Full of grammatical errors and typos. AI? Reminds me of how ai makes bald eagle chicks in the nest bald. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the whole series. I just cringed now and then.
I didn't know everything about this series... I really liked the scene in the restaurant in that Russian town, where Jason shows that he's a killer with moral codes and very inventive.

It was 6 months since I read the previous book in this series and I didn't remember all details but they quickly came to my mind and I was trapped with the story. My regret is about having so many threads opened as now I will need to wait for the next release to follow them.
