Not safe!!
What a disappointment!!!
We knew from the previous books that Dare was a manwh0re… but if it was not rubbed in our faces at the beginning…it soon catched up!
I am also not a fan of the fact that he loved another woman long time ago… it made me feel like Ava was always second best!
Whatever, the first 40% there is no plot at all and only s3x… those two were rabbits 🐇 and nothing much happened!
Yes there was some great banter and very spicy scenes 🌶️🌶️
Then, something happened and Ava left Dare…. And the guy decided to fu*** the entire women population, doing threesome and you know still enjoying himself because one was riding his d** and the other was riding his face 🤮🤮🤮🤮
Even after Shannon’s death he waited (patiently 🙄) months before touching another woman, but here nope 48h max after Ana left!! So much so for Ava being special and some strong character development!!
Utterly disgusted by the situation because on the other hand Ava is…. pregnant!! What a shitty plot twist!! I hate when authors do that!
So after that, whatever cute “second chance”story the author tried to make me swallow I just couldn’t.
I understood why Ava left but what happened to chasing the girl, you know your only one true love?? Nope because again the guy is a douche who preferred to drink and fu**** instead of being an adult!So then, everything that happened to Ava afterwards wouldn’t have happened!
It’s a shame because I love the author writing style and the first book was truly amazing but since it’s been a massive let down…

From the moment we meet the Ava, it’s clear she’s a force to be reckoned with—a true ball buster in every sense. Newly divorced and out on the town to celebrate, Ava crashes into Dare and he’s ready to help her dust off the cob-webs and dust off the webs does Dare do. All of our beans were tingling after the delicious depravity of 4+ chapters of non-stop action. I mean🥵🥵🥵 Sirr, the stamina.
Ava is fierce, independent, and unafraid to fight for what she believes in, making her an FMC you want to root for. But Dare is a challenge she needs. Beneath Ava’s tough exterior lies a vulnerability shaped by life’s hardships, making her journey all the more compelling. Dates backstory is heartbreaking, it’s no wonder his default man-whore ways is all that ever worked before he met Ava.
There is a “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” vibe to the book that I loved. Ava’s relationship with Nick her nephew and her big involved family brings humor and warmth, offering laugh-out-loud moments that perfectly balance the story’s heavier emotional moments.
The plot is a rollercoaster of emotions, packed with tear-jerking twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. Just when you think you know where the story is going, Katie Ashley throws in an unexpected twist that changes everything. The theme of this book should be expect the unexpected!
If you’re looking for a book that will make you laugh, cry, and stay up all night turning the pages, Safe and Sound is a must-read. With its unforgettable heroine, Dirty Mouth MC who would burn the world for the FMC even though I wanted to kill her for what she did to Dare, this is a heartwarming, quirky banter-filled ride. 10/10 recommend.

Prepare yourself
If you've read any of the books in this series, then you already know the amount of spice but also the rip your heart and leave you in your feels that this family goes thru. This book had me laughing and in the next wanting to throw my kindle. Prepare for it to hurt if you have any feelings but there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
Dare meets Ava when she and her nephew and nieces celebrate her divorce in his club. What starts off as a whirlwind weekend quickly turns into a couple months. Everyone was excited about them being together except her parents. One night she ends up walking into a situation where the truth comes out about his family. She leaves and never wants to see him again.
She ends up with a surprise and trouble that she needs to get taken care of to protect her family. She decides to seek Dare out for his help.
Each book in this series can be read alone but the Kavanaugh clan is special. They protect and cherish what is there's even with extended family. Dare and Ava's story is one of heartache but also hope and love. Let us not forget lots of spice.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (Katie Ashley's Spiciest Book Yet)
March 12th update:
Unfortunately an entire chapter (chapter 33, the breakfast scene) was missing from the ARC. I have since read it and it changes my perspective of Ava drastically. While I still feel a type of way about her decisions, now I have a better understanding of her thought process. Also there is more context with Nick and his connection to a certain bodyguard 😏. Apologies to my kindle, all the screaming was a false alarm 🤣.

This book hit the ground running and I loved every minute of it. Wasting no time giving us five straight chapters of delicious spice, and two people's walls slowly starting to crumble. And the perfect banter between these two from the beginning, adding to their explosive chemistry.
I'm the weirdo and probably the only person on the planet who thinks this, but I usually don't like books that start off with an ONS. Guess I'm a slow/medium burn girly. However Safe and Sound was different, and that's a credit to Katie Ashley's writing. I wanted these two together as soon as Dare was mesmerized by watching Ava dancing from across the club.
I'll never see Strawberries the same way again 😂. And it's nice to see another couple find fun ways to use olive oil 😏.
Piper going after Dare with a baseball bat, for making Ava cry will live in my head rent free, because that was just amazing 😭. Piper in general was one of my favorite parts of the book, she hit me right in the ovaries.
I loved Dare and Ava together they were very passionate people in many regards. I did get frustrated with Ava who often jumped to conclusions, not allowing Dare a chance at a an opinion if it didn't align with hers. They made me want to scream sometimes lol, however I couldn't hate them for it. Even though I wanted to after Ava went off on my girl Isla 😬.
So many unexpected twists and turns, delicious spice and dirty talk that made me kick my feet and giggle. Plus getting updates on all the other Kavanaughs, the "wags" and children was chef's kiss.
And shout-out to Dare's bodyguards, they really had his back in a brotherhood kind of way. You could tell they were rooting for him and Ava the whole time . Lines like “Don’t let your fears hurt your future with him.” and “Is it a crime to want to see you happy?” I was like yessss they care so much. And Nick, sweet Nick being Dare's undercover cheerleader made me tear up a couple of times.
“I can promise to make you feel alive again. But I don’t have to hurt you to do it. Pleasure means you’re alive.” Dare Kavanaugh everyone 🥵.
The last 100 pages of Safe and Sound was a whirlwind of emotions, action and plot twists. However it didn't not feel rushed. So many secrets undercovered plus possible future storylines.
And the epilogues were EVERYTHING!!!!
My favorite dialogue exchange:
“Is something wrong with that?” She shrugged. “While I don’t have a lot of experience with it, don’t rich and powerful men never take you back to their homes?”
"I don’t know, Ava. A rich man has never asked me back to his house,” I teased.
Slight Spoilers Ahead:
I will be that person for a second however, because this just did not sit well with my spirit. I can not bring myself to forgive Ava for keeping Dare away from Piper for three years. Despite what she thought of him, she knew he was a family man, and some of the accusation she made about him were insane. Then running to him when she was in danger was wild. And the petty person inside of me snickered when Dare pointed out the fact that the person who ended up putting their child in danger ended up being her, now she magically is okay with his life because she needs him. While I completely understand why she did it, given what happened to her sister, still I wanted to throw my kindle across the room on several occasions.
Plus her stubbornness was that of someone in their late teens or early 20s. Not someone pushing mid-30s (in my opinion). Which often led to poor judgement, and often missing obvious red flags (some related to herself 😅).
Triggers: I read the ARC so they might be included at the beginning of the official release.

In this incredibly beautiful story, Katie Ashley will absolutely tear your heart to shreds and then put it all back together even better than before.
Dare is the son of a brutal Clan Mafia leader and has a shell around his heart protecting him. Ava is the daughter of Greek immigrants who fled to the US to start over and have a simple life with their family. She’s barely free from an ex-husband when she meets Dare at his club, and the sparks fly!
It doesn’t take long for Ava to melt the icy layers of Dare’s heart and for him to show Ava what it truly feels like to be loved. But when his lifestyle comes crashing into their little happy bubble, Ava is furious and hurt and refuses to have anything to do with Dare. She leaves him, telling him to never come near her again. Broken, Dare agrees, and she leaves, but she takes a part of him with her when she goes.
Four years later, Ava finds herself the victim of an abuser who is intent on not letting her get away from him, so she goes to the one man she knows can protect her: Dare. But when Dare learns more about Ava and her life in the years apart, he is heartbroken. He and Ava never really stopped loving each other, but is that love enough to keep them together after what she’s taken from him? And when more threats arrive, can Dare keep her safe from harm?
This book was angsty and spicy, and the Irish accents are read through the writing perfectly. I could hear the Irish accents in my head while I read. The story was the perfect amount of dark mafia without being too gory but also getting the point across. This book was a great addition to the already amazing Irish Rogue series.

Sassy ball busting Ava meets playboy bachelor who's against marriage, what could happen? Omg the batter in this book is so good and the spice is spicing!! Dare and Ava our match made in heaven if they can open their eyes. I love this series and this is tied for my favorite with Callum and Catalina's book, both had phenomenal banter and lots of sexual tension. 🔥🔥

Best way to sum up this book and the entire series… Mafia Romance done right! Perfect mix of the dark, the suspense, the trauma, the heartache, and let’s not forget the hot as sin spice.
I had this feeling that Dare’s story was going to pack a punch of emotions and I was right. It was like one of those rides where you want to get off but can’t. And when you get off you are surprisedly so happy you stayed till the finish. This couple had to go through the ride for their perfect HEA.

I loved the way the present day (4 years later) portion of this story came together and the journey these two characters found themselves on. Their initial time together was full of chemistry, quick banter, and laid the foundation for a relationship neither was looking for, but it was the second half of this book that I adored. The twists and turns that were packed into the last 20% of this story were shocking, surprising, and so perfect for this family!
Safe and Sound is a second chance, surprise family, mafia romance that brought plenty of heat and danger to a sweet, loveable set of characters. It was fun to see the rest of the Kavanaugh family, and to meet Ava’s family along the way.

My rating: 4 stars
What I loved: I loved how Dare(H) was with his daughter, for not wanting kids he was such a great dad. I also loved how he was with Ava(h). He truly was all in with her. The best part was when he called her out on not liking who his family is but wanting help. The way he didn’t hold a grudge for her keeping his daughter away made me like his character even more. Lastly, I liked how Ava’s cousin helped her at the end.
What I didn’t like: I didn’t like how Ava didn’t tell Dare about his daughter. Yeah I understood she was worried but to then go and ask Dare to help take care of the ex made her a hypocrite. I didn’t like how Dare went back to his old ways when Ava left. I wish he would have went and fought for her. Next, I wanted more to come of marriage contract Dare had. Did he ever tell Ava? Lastly, I don’t like when a character I like dies.

Final thoughts: I enjoyed Dare’s book and can’t wait to read Kellan’s story.

Rating this book 2.5 stars 🌟 is really disappointing because I actually enjoyed the plot, it just wasn’t executed well.
The characters were somewhat immature and lacked any real depth. They didn’t stick to any of their convictions and caved under the slightest pressure. Because of that, I wasn’t invested in them as characters. I was simply curious to see where the story was going.
On top of that, the real killer for me was the abundance of typos. Usually I see a typo and I just skip over it. No harm no foul, we’re all human. But this book is littered with them. They are seriously on almost every page. It became hard to read and constantly pulled me out of the story. In all honesty, it read like a first draft.
Then we also had so many inconsistencies - Kurt who turned into Chris on the very next page, a 17 year old Dare only being 27 when it said “13 years later”, Ava being 30 when she gets pregnant, four years later she has a three year old which is fine factoring in gestation, but then she’s only 33?
Make it make sense!
There was also a part where about 3 paragraphs are randomly repeated on the following page.
Overall, it had potential but is in dire need of an editor!

But there are now threats in her world, and his brand of protection is what she needs.
In a world where black and white is not always possible, can they find a way to exist with shades of grey?
I loved how Dare was willing to change and was so enamored by Ava. And I admired Ava's spirit and how she challenged him. They are both protective of those they care about. They are also both passionate and stubborn.
This is a second-chance romance that brings secrets, lies, threats, suspense, and twists in a mafia world. They had some challenges, and I was definitely surprised by some things. It brings back Dare's siblings and other significant family members and brings in Ava's. I enjoyed being back in this world and am looking forward to more.

Natürlich wird es auch richtig spannend und sehr berührend, was genau die gelungene Mischung ist, die die Lovestorys der Autorin ausmacht.
Ava ist stark und selbstbewusst, auch wenn das Leben ihr schon jede Menge Zitronen serviert hat. Ich mag sie einfach, obwohl ich nicht jede ihrer Entscheidungen gut fand. Ich konnte ihre Beweggründe jedoch immer nachvollziehen und habe sie in der jeweiligen Situation verstanden.
Dare ist genau wie seine Brüder auf der einen Seite der eiskalte Mafiapate, der sich oft die Hände schmutzig macht und keine Gnade kennt. Auf der anderen Seite ist er aber auch sensibel, gefühlvoll und hat ein riesiges Herz, welches er nicht leichtfertig verschenkt.
Es gibt wieder jede Menge Überraschungen und packende Twists und es ist zuckersüß, die knallharten Mafiosi als liebevolle Daddys zu erleben. Das Wiedersehen mit den bekannten Charakteren ist eins meiner Highlights, genau wie die berührenden Momente zwischendrin.

Als Ava und Dare sich in dessen Club kennen lernen ist das eine explosive Mischung. Die beiden können nicht die Finger von einander lassen und sind glücklich trotz allem was der familiäre Hintergrund so her gibt .Bis Avas Neugier dazu führt das sie die finstere Seite der Medaille sieht. Ava verlässt Dare ,denn sie sieht in ihm momentan nur den eiskalten Mörder ohne ihm die Chance zu geben sich zu erklären. Sie will mit seinem Mafialeben nichts zu tun haben .Also verschwindet sie aus seinem Leben um dann fest zu stellen das sie von ihm schwanger ist. Sie hält diese Tatsache geheim bis der Mann mit dem sie kurz zusammen war versucht sie umzubringen.
Der Einzige ,der ihr jetzt noch helfen kann ist Dare und so macht sie sich auf ihn um Hilfe zu bitten in der Hoffnung ihre Tochter weiterhin verschweigen zu können .Doch da hat sie nicht mit Dare gerechnet, der sie immer noch liebt und alles versucht um sie wieder zu erobern. Bis er seine Tochter sieht und er weder Ava noch Piper jemals wieder gehen lassen will .
Doch die Vergangenheit holt alle wieder ein und es wird heftig. Denn es gibt einen Mann der Ava unbedingt tot sehen will und Dare hat alle Hände voll zu tun um seine Liebsten zu retten. Doch wird er es schaffen ? Lest selbst und lasst euch verzaubern von dieser Geschichte , in der man oft lachen ,aber auch weinen muss .
Dieser Band ist sehr emotional. Dare als Vater zu erleben gerade als er sein Kind endlich kennen lernen darf ist echt lustig. Es ist schön zu lesen wie ein gestandener Mann ,der ohne mit der Wimper zu zucken töten kann von einem kleinen Mädchen um den Finger gewickelt wird und versucht sich in der Rolle als Vater zurecht zu finden. Das bringt uns Leser zum lachen ,doch auch zum weinen werden wir gebracht , denn es ist immer hart ,wenn eine Figur ,die man von ganzem Herzen mag sterben muss , also legt euch Taschentücher bereit für die Lach -als auch die Trauertränen

Absolut bester Teil der Reihe
Dieser Teil war für mich magisch. Seit langem mal wieder eine „Nachtschicht“ zum lesen eingelegt. Konnte mich von der Story nicht lösen.
Was macht eine junge Frau die ihre Scheidung in einem Club feiert ? Nach klar, tanzen und endlich mal einen Mann kennenlernen, der ihr gefällt. Einfach so, das Leben genießen.
Sie ist wie berauscht und tanzt völlig losgelöst alleine…
Dare, Mitbesitzer des Clubs und ebenso Mitglied der Mafia Familie, ist fasziniert von ihrem
Tanz und beschließt sie näher kennenzulernen. Dieses erste Aufeinandertreffen der beiden ist was ganz besonderes, diese Chemie, einzigartig. Ich liebe die forsche Art von Ava, frech, klug und dazu noch sehr hübsch.
Dies ist der Beginn einer ganz besonderen Liebe mit schwierigen Lebensumstände, welche beide eine Bürde aufzwingt und es ihnen keinesfalls leichtgemacht wird.
Dieser Teil ist der Beste, keiner hat mich dermaßen in den Bann gezogen, Hier hätte ich gerne ein + zu den 5 Sternen gegeben.
Emotional und fesselnd erzählt. Was mir hier aber besonders gut gefallen hat, war die Chemie zwischen Ava und Dare. Freche, frische Dialoge die einen schmunzeln lassen aber dennoch die Tragik dahinter nicht außer acht lassen. Auch ihre erotischen Seiten habe ich geliebt und verschlungen. Ebenso die unvorhersehbaren Wendungen, welche in die Story spannend integriert wurden, waren sehr kreativ aber keinesfalls unrealistisch.
Sie gingen zu Herzen, ja ein Taschentuch hab ich zwar keines gebraucht aber eine Träne habe ich dennoch auf meiner Wange gespürt. Den Atem angehalten ja, auch das kam vor.
Das Kopfkino hatte ich gleich von Anfang an und die kleine „Piper“ muss man einfach lieben.
Das Ende habe ich mit Wehmut gelesen, zu schnell war die Story zu Ende.
Fazit: Sehr emotionale und fesselnde Lesestunden

Tanz und beschließt sie näher kennenzulernen. Dieses erste Aufeinandertreffen der beiden ist was ganz besonderes, diese Chemie, einzigartig. Ich liebe die forsche Art von Ava, frech, klug und dazu noch sehr hübsch.
Dies ist der Beginn einer ganz besonderen Liebe mit schwierigen Lebensumstände, welche beide eine Bürde aufzwingt und es ihnen keinesfalls leichtgemacht wird.
Dieser Teil ist der Beste, keiner hat mich dermaßen in den Bann gezogen, Hier hätte ich gerne ein + zu den 5 Sternen gegeben.
Emotional und fesselnd erzählt. Was mir hier aber besonders gut gefallen hat, war die Chemie zwischen Ava und Dare. Freche, frische Dialoge die einen schmunzeln lassen aber dennoch die Tragik dahinter nicht außer acht lassen. Auch ihre erotischen Seiten habe ich geliebt und verschlungen. Ebenso die unvorhersehbaren Wendungen, welche in die Story spannend integriert wurden, waren sehr kreativ aber keinesfalls unrealistisch.
Sie gingen zu Herzen, ja ein Taschentuch hab ich zwar keines gebraucht aber eine Träne habe ich dennoch auf meiner Wange gespürt. Den Atem angehalten ja, auch das kam vor.
Das Kopfkino hatte ich gleich von Anfang an und die kleine „Piper“ muss man einfach lieben.
Das Ende habe ich mit Wehmut gelesen, zu schnell war die Story zu Ende.
Fazit: Sehr emotionale und fesselnde Lesestunden
Klare Leseempfehlung.

Der vierte Band baut zudem stark auf den vorangegangenen Teilen auf. Das Lesen der Vorbände ist dhaer unbedingt zu empfehlen. Denn nachdem vier Jahre vergangen sind, taucht diesmal Ava erneut in Dare Kavanaughs Leben auf, gezwungenermaßen, denn ein besessener Stalker zwingt sie, den Mann um Hilfe zu bitten, dem sie einst entkam. Parallel dazu steht Dare vor der Wahl, ob er sie aus Pflicht schützt, aus Gefühl oder aus dem Schatten seiner Mafia-Verbindungen. Der Weg führt sie jedenfalls über eine erzwungene Ehe, alte Wunden und neue Feinde.

Das Cover ist wieder sehr schön geworden und passt super gut zur Reihe und Geschichte dazu.
Mein Fazit:
Der Schreibstil ist sehr gut und die Geschichte lässt sich leicht und flüssig lesen. Sie wird abwechselnd aus der Sicht von Ava und Dare erzählt, was ich wirklich sehr liebe, weil man die Protas dadurch noch besser kennen und verstehen lernt.
Mir gefällt es sehr wie sich diese Reihe entwickelt. Ich liebe jeden einzelnen Charakter und auch die Nebencharaktere sind super gut in die Geschichte mit integriert.
Natürlich auch der Hintergrund der Geschichte war sehr schön. Man hat die Verbindung der beiden von Beginn an gespürt. Und auch der Spannungsbogen war wieder bis zum Schluss spannend und wurde sehr gut aufgebaut.
Auch der Familienzusammenhalt ist immer wieder gut gemacht. Ich freue mich ein jedes Mal in diese Dynamik einzutauchen. Ich bin echt gespannt was da als nächstes auf uns zukommt.

Safe and Sound is book four in the Irish Rogues series by Katie Ashley. This time we have Darragh ‘Dare’ Kavanagh, the fun loving brother and Ava Carras, a greek woman. A fast paced dark mafia, second chance, romantic suspense story with a secret baby and lots of twists and turns. This one could be read as a standalone but the Kavanagh brothers have so much history, that you will appreciate Dare’s story more if you have read the previous books. There is fun banter and scorching passion amongst the emotions and challenges this couple face.
The start is heartbreaking and a reminder of how awful their father was. A horrific and traumatic incident affects Dare and is the reason he’s vowed to never love again. The story fast forwards to him now working at the family nightclub. He still has nightmares about that event but hides his demons with jokes and teasing, refusing to deal with his trauma. After a fight with Kellan he goes to people watch and notices a brunette dancing alone. Lost in her own world he’s jealous of her having that freedom and sets his sights on the captivating woman.
Ava is out celebrating her divorce from her cheating husband. She needs some time to herself and never expects the evening to change her life again. She’s out clubbing with her nephew Nick and her two nieces. While dancing a man refuses to leave her alone until a tall dark handsome stranger physically removes him. Unfortunately he is then very condescending which infuriates her. She had the situation under control so knowing self defence she uses it on him but two bodyguards rush her!! Dare is in total disbelief over what she did that to him which increases his interest and intrigue in her. He is cocky and so funny with all his cheesy chat up lines that she agrees to a drink. There is some great banter and the electricity between them is obvious. Their supposedly one night stand turns into them dating.
One night she discovers the other side of Dare’s work and sees how dangerous he and his family are. She is shocked, feels as if she really doesn’t know him and their relationship built on lies. She leaves and refuses to see him but it turns out she now has a secret. Three years later and events happen that leave her no option but to turn to Dare for help. She needs to protect her family and knows for Dare family always comes first. He isn’t happy about her request but things change when he gets the surprise of his life when he goes to her house.
I enjoyed finding out how the rest of the Kavanaugh’s were doing and thought Dare’s bodyguards were fantastic. They all pulled together and had some good advice for Dare. Nick was so supportive to Ava and was excellent at playing devil’s advocate over Dare. Loved the scenes with Piper especially her reaction when Dare made Ava cry!
When more secrets are revealed and danger now follows both of them, will they be able to put the hurt behind them. Can they find a way to forgive each other and let the love back in now there is more at stake. A thrilling ending brings them a HEA neither expected. Looking forward to Kellan’s story next as I feel so sorry for all he has been through.

Dare and Ava had a fantastic weekend after he swooped in to her rescue at one of his clubs. Once Ava learns that Dare is part of the Irish mafia she takes off feeling like she can't be with him. Fast forward four years and now Ava feels like the only person who can help her is Dare. She has a crazy ex that is trying to get to her and she knows Dare can protect her. The initial first meeting in four years goes kind of how she imagined it with him being angry with her for disappearing. Once Dare hears why Ava has come to see him he knows that he has to protect her anyway he can even if he has to separate his personal feelings from it. Yet, Dare is about to get the biggest surprise of his life when he stops by Ava's house unexpected one night..... now it is personal and he has to protect his family. This story had me so enthralled and I can't put it down.

Katie Ashley’s Safe and Sound might have pulled me out of my slump. And not because the spice hit at about 15% in. I can get spice early in any book, but I can’t get two characters meeting for the first time, Ava and Dare, and feeling the sparks go off even through their conversation. Dare, usually a one-and-done type of guy, did not anticipate how he would feel after being with Ava, and when she left, even his own family couldn’t believe how distraught this guy was.
But the “he falls first” trope and spice were not the only things I enjoyed about Safe and Sound. An unexpected turn of events involving Ava’s background, her baby that she tried so hard to keep from Dare, and the mafia ties that come to fruition made me not want to put the book down.
Safe and Sound was steamy and exciting, with great characters and plot—I was fully entertained!

Dare and Ava first meet when a guy can't take no, and Dare comes to her rescue. From that moment on, they can't get enough of each other. Until Ava gets a glimpse at the dangerous man he truly is. Then she runs.
Four years later, she goes to him for his help for the very reason she ran from him. Her ex is stalking her, and she just needs him to be dealt with. She had hoped to get in, ask for the favor, and leave and never see him again. Of course, Dare does what he wants and ends up on her doorstep.
I loved the banter between these two. I am loving this series and can't wait for the next book.

Oh Ava. Having a night out with the girls and your life changes forever. Right off the bat this book will break your heart right in 2 and make you grieve for Dare. Then before you know it, the smut be smuttin! It takes you on a journey of emotions and will make you laugh, cry, scream, ugly cry and somehow end with a HEA. Nice little plot twists along the way (Nick absolutely broke my heart). Just about every character you love, hate a little, then love again. The strong family ties had me tearing up at times and the banter between Ava and Dare made me laugh out loud more than once. Just the right amount of spice IMO with a decent storyline if you don't mind some jumping around. My first read by Katie Ashley but it won't be my last.

It is a 3.5 for me. The story is great but I can't overlook some of the mistakes and typos here. For example, in a chapter with Dare's POV it would change to Ava's POV in a sentence and then return to his POV and the same thing would happen in a chapter with Ava's POV. There were sentences in which "is" should be "it" and vice versa. And plotwise I think it should at least have a mention of I don't think it was intentional, I truly think it was forgotten. However, I must say I loved the epilogues. Both of them.

"The Irish Rogue Mafia Family: Safe & Sound" ist der vierte Teil der "The Irish Rogue Mafia Family" Reihe. Jeder Teil kann vollkommen unabhängig voneinander gelesen werden, jede Geschichte ist abgeschlossen. Wie es aber in einer Familie so ist: Es gibt immer mal ein Wiedersehen.
Eigentlich habe ich immer gedacht, Mafia-Romance ist überhaupt nicht mein Ding, doch dann habe ich meine erste Reihe gelesen und war einfach angefixt. Dann habe ich diese Reihe gefunden... und was soll ich sagen?? Es ist genau mein Ding, ich liebe es.
Ich war wieder vom ersten Satz im Buch angekommen und konnte es kaum wieder aus der Hand legen. Dass ich das Setting liebe, brauche ich wohl nicht extra zu erwähnen, und Dare hat eh schon längst einen Platz in meinem Herzen erhalten. Ava war genau die richtige Frau für ihn. Ich konnte sie mit allem so gut verstehen und hatte mit allem genauso gehandelt wie sie. Ich hätte übrigens auch so einen Auftrag für Dare und kann verstehen, warum sie damit zu ihm gegangen ist... So sehr ich diese Geschichte auch geliebt habe, ich habe dieses Mal tatsächlich noch zwei Fragen. Zum einen, nach dem Theater, was Raphael wegen des geplatzten Ehevertrages mitmachen musste, hier kam so gar nichts, das hat mich wirklich verwirrt, und dann... Wurde die richtige Hochzeit eigentlich noch nachgeholt?? Schweren Herzens muss ich deswegen leider ein ❤ abziehen. Ich kann euch diese Reihe aber wirklich ans Herz legen. Wenn ihr die Bücher kennt, wisst ihr, was ich meine.
Der Schreibstil hat mir wieder sehr gut gefallen. Er ist fesselnd, spannend und so mitreißend. Ich bin auf den nächsten Kavanaugh schon ganz gespannt. Dankeschön, dass ich es lesen durfte.
Als Dare Ava in seinem Club kennengelernt hat, wusste er sofort: Sie ist etwas ganz Besonderes. Ava geht es nicht anders und sie verbringen ein paar wundervolle Monate miteinander, doch dann sieht Ava etwas, was sie nicht sehen sollte, und rennt davon. Nach vier Jahren steht sie allerdings unvermittelt wieder vor ihm. Sie hat ein Problem, das nur Dare lösen kann, doch sie hat auch ein Geheimnis, das er eigentlich nie erfahren sollte...

Wow ok this was just amazing. I enjoyed the book immensely and found it hard to let go.
After 4 years from a one night stand with Mafia King Dare, Ava needs his help with a stalker but she has more secrets that just the stalker.
Ava is somewhat naive but street smart and knew to get away from Dare being that he is Irish Mafia. Her reluctance to see him again is for a few reasons and that get revealed in time. I liked Dare, yes he was brutal and dangerous but knew he wanted Ava and that connection was still alive and well, actually more so.
So well done, I want to read more in this series. It's a first by this Author for me and wow she did awesome. So good!!

This book 😳😳
I went in completely blind. Had no idea I was missing the first 3 books in the series, but I was completely find following along plot wise. I am actually going back and starting 1 tonight. I can’t let go of this family.
I flew through this book. Dare stole my heart. Seriously.
I loved this one night stand, turns into he falls first, to a second chance with so much packed in.
I can’t write too much on the plot because I don’t want to give spoilers. There were plenty of OMG gasp moments today as I read this.
It was well done!
