NEVER MAKE A PLAN!

Following a life changing event in February 2022, Clair and Chris sold everything, including their beloved motorbike to buy The Plot, a 60ft narrowboat in need of some TLC. After a year they left the security of the marina and were addressless for the first time in their lives.

This reflective diary shares this journey from July 2023 to June 2024 when they cope with life afloat. Join them as they discover how to live off-grid whilst dealing with breakdowns, ferocious locks, tidal waters, leaks, dodgy moorings, frozen canals, torrential rain, unbearable heat, the mighty Thames, glorious sunrises and sleepless nights.
Is it a midlife crisis, a peri-menopausal breakdown or just two people looking for some adventure?

After living in various parts of the UK, including Wakefield, York, Derby, Newark-On-Trent and the Yorkshire Dales, I now live on a narrowboat cruising the canal network. I enjoy reading, writing, travelling, walking and watching all forms of motorbike racing and socialising (networking).

At the beginning of my writing journey, I started my blog which tracks the ups and downs of writing. ((I need to mention that my blog posts are usually visited by ‘Brackets’!))
