Cute story with and unreliable MC. Not the best Ka Bi Qiu work (my favorite's Sunset Boulevard).
Ji Bie has lived in the Duan family since he's 5 years old. His father was Mr. Duan's bodyguard and died protecting Mr. Duan. MC's mother didn't want him so Mr. Duan decided to adopt Ji Bie. Duan Zhu's the older son, the typical cold to everyone ML. Ji Bie didn't have a good relationship with Mr. Duan's youngest son, so he always went to find Duan Zhu for protection. At first the ML didn't like the MC and didn't want him around but Ji Bie acted like he didn't noticed that and as time passed Duan Zhu started to tolerate Ji Bie and in the end fell in love with Ji Bie.
Ji Bie's an unreliable narrator, he acts like he didn't want to be in a relationship with Duan Zhu but we can feel that he likes Duan Zhu. I can understand him, for most of the book the MC's in survival mode, he lives at the Duan mansion as a favor, and he feels like he doesn't have much saying in anything that happens to him, that his opinions doesn't matter and he just have to go with the flow, it's good to see that by the ending of the story he got enough confidence to say what he really wanted.
