"She would have made his next breath his last, if he hadn t stolen hers."

" Order of the Wolf, Book 2 "

Aubrey Devlin thought she had a destiny to become a Huntress, be mated to a Hunter, and spend her life in everlasting, werewolf ass-kicking bliss. But after years of honing her wolf-slaying skills, it s her twin sister who s chosen for the coveted honor.

Swallowing her disappointment, she takes a job as head of security for the band Riot. Staying professional is tough when it comes to the band s sex-god bassist, an alpha bad-boy to the extreme. She "will" keep her mind on her work as soon as she figures out how to stop drooling over the man.

Jaylon isn t good with women especially those with the ability to kill him yet he knows without a doubt Aubrey is his mate. Now if only he can get the stubborn woman to fall for him.

One argument too many, and instead of clawing each other s eyes out, they wind up clawing each other s clothes off. It s then that Jaylon realizes the Aubrey is a true Huntress. He d better find a way to claim his mate before a Hunter claims her first

Sexually explicit (like ripping-clothes-off, sex-in-public-places explicit) language. Rock-star bad-ass with long hair and a wicked bite. A take-no-crap huntress who bites back. You are encouraged to lick, suck, and devour your way through this tasty treat in one sitting just be aware you might be hungry for more."

What a great book! Angela Addams creates a world where good and evil collide except just who is good and who is evil? Wolf Slayer is book 2 in her Order of the Wolf Series and well worth the read.

It poses an excellent dilemma. What happens when you are raised to believe one thing then forced to chose another? Do you embrace your new lifestyle or do you turn against it? Do you stand true to what you are taught? Or do you learn a new way?

Aubrey Devlin was raised to become a wolf slayer. Literally, she was raised to be the mate of a Hunter, to become a Huntress. But when the time came, when the Hunters finally came to chose their wives, Aubrey was not chosen, her twin sister was. She was told she would never be the wife of a Hunter. Devastated, Aubrey left the family, left her way of life and moved on. Taking a job as security for a rock band. Where she slowly fell in love with a member of the band. Only to learn that he was a wolf. The entire band was! Aubrey discovers that she is the destined mate of a wolf, not a hunter! After a lifetime of being told that the wolves are horrid, terrible beings, Aubrey is amazed to discover that there is way more to it.

Jaylon is a rare beast, literally. He is shy around women, hard to imagine that the bassist for one of the hottest bands around doesn't do well with women. But when he meets sexy Aubrey he can't help but be attracted, she's his mate everything should be easy peasy. Except of course his mate is a true Huntress, if he doesn't mate her, a hunter will find her and mate her, leaving Jaylon alone. If it were only the mating call, Jaylon might be able to walk away but Aubrey is special and Jaylon actually likes her.

Jaylon is just the sweetest man. Knowing he lacks all finesse with women, he sets out to woo her the only way he knows how, by thoughtful deeds. How can Aubrey not fall in love with him. This is a man who firmly believes, actions say more than words.

This book is wonderful! I loved the fact that there was more to it than wolf meets girl and girl succumbs. There are choices to be made. For Aubrey AND Jaylon. Each can walk away. Each has to choose to love. And in Aubrey's case, she has to turn her back on her very way of life, against the prejudices that she was raised with, against her very twin.

I know I am looking forward to book three.

So... this is book two, and I hadn’t read book one but didn’t think that would matter. What I missed though was it’s a novella and I find those difficult to enjoy  Usually  I just feel they are too short to really get into, to get to know characters and to enjoy the story. I loved the sound of the premise, and think this would be great as a longer novel, but the short length doesn’t do the story justice.
Aubrey is a twin, born into a Hunter family and waiting for her Hunter mate to appear...but times getting short and then to her shock it’s her sister that gets chosen. That’s a blow to her, so she takes a job in security for a band. She doesn’t know that one of the players is her destined mate – he does, but to Jaylon romance isn’t something that comes easy. In fact he’s all round a difficult person, very abrupt and easy to antagonise. Aubrey does just that when they first meet, and though he’s kicking himself later his surliness puts her off....then things heat up and before long they are hot and heavy, having erotic encounters every time they meet it seems, although he still hasn’t told her the truth, that he’s her mate and a werewolf. How’s that going to work with a trained would-be Hunter? Times getting short too – he’s only a few days left to convince her, or she will be killed.
Well, the story goes on, with lots of hot sex, some drama and danger and an interlude with Aubrey’s sister and Hunter mate.
To be honest I think had this book been longer I may have enjoyed it more. As it was there was so much packed in to such a short space it left me with too many unanswered questions. Some may have been explained in book one of course, and though usually subsequent books in a series carry some brief essential info as the story continues, this one didn’t. So I didn’t understand for instance what was behind the werewolf/Hunter thing, why the wolves are shot on sight. These lads were in a band, not mass murderers, and didn’t seem to have any evil intentions so why did the Hunters want to kill them? That was my big one, and then of course the way Aubrey gets together with Jaylon so quickly, despite not liking him...it’s the limitations of the format that there wasn’t space to explore these questions but that made it a – well, not a fail, but not a good book for me either.
Stars: two and a half, too short for me but for readers who want a quick, sexy paranormal story it’s spot on.

Aubrey has been training to be a Huntress since she was a child. When a Hunter comes and claims her sister but she is left out, she feels like she must not be Huntress material and vows to move on with her life. She takes a job for a rock band that, unbeknownst to her, is a werewolf pack and contains her mate.

I liked the premise of this story but the execution left a bit to be desired. I didn't feel the connection between Aubrey and Jaylon was all that strong. It seemed mostly to be a physical attraction. They barely know each other but they are drawn to each other even though they can't have a civil conversation. It was confusing. They don't actually have all that many scenes together. This book is third person, mainly from Aubrey's point of view so we don't get too much information on Jaylon. I didn't feel like I knew him so I wasn't all that invested in the story or the outcome.

This is a novella so there isn't a lot of detail given to the world but this book needed more world building. The 'rules' aren't always clear and it would have been nice if it was described. I did enjoy the secondary characters. I would have liked to see them interact more instead of just being told about it after the fact. This is the second book in The Order of the Wolf series. I haven't read book one so I'm not sure if they should be read in order. It would probably give the reader more details about the characters and the world.

She thought becoming a huntress was her destiny until Aubrey’s twin sister is the only one chosen, scrambling to rethink her path she accepts a security job with the band Riot and discovers she can her mind or her hands off of Jaylon but Jaylon a secret that could lead her to her destiny or destroy her in this mesmerizing paranormal romance.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot captivates readers with suspense and passion. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and the suspense draw the reader deeper into the story while the strong compelling characters grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning and ensure that the reader wants to know every last detail.

The attraction between Aubrey and Jaylon burns hot from every page and the passion explodes into some red hot sex scenes but the relationship has a major obstacle Aubrey is a huntress and Jaylon is a werewolf. The reader can’t help but get caught up in the story as they try to work through emotional issues and to come to terms with their attraction.

Spine tingling anticipation builds as time runs out for Jaylon to convince her to be his mate and when the situation comes to a head it explodes is a spectacular conflict that causes lots of excitement. I think the story could have been longer, but there was never a dull moment and I was riveted until the very end and I am looking forward to reading the next one.

First of all, after the 1st installment had such a great cover, this one, not so much. So, let's remedy this and just think of a rather yummy Native American bad boy.

Now that's out of the way, we can focus on the novella. It definitely helps to read the 1st installment first as it gives a groundwork for the band and characters. While Raven and Darcy are here a bit, this is really Jaylon and Aubrey's story.

Jaylon is the bassist for Riot, and the shy one. Not really a lady's man, this creates a bit of a problem for an erotica novel as he's a bit more awkward than your typical alpha male. Aubrey was destined to be a Huntress of the Order and is passed over, instead her twin sister is called.

We get a bit more of a glimpse into the world of the Order, the Hunters and Huntresses. There's some great world building, but the chemistry between the 2 leads is a bit "meh" at times though it does get a bit steamy a few times.

Still very excited to see where this story continues as we still have Mayhem and Dyami to pair off with their mates.

Mmm a sexy paranormal romance with a female huntress protagonist, werewolves and an awesome band? Oh hell yeah it's my kinda book! I devoured it in no time. I'm a sucker for the hunter/werewolf (in this case) supposed forbidden love stories. It was so exciting! I found myself frustrated that as far as Aubrey was aware, her destiny is to kill the werewolves and she has no idea that there is this whole other side to her destiny that she hasn't been told about. I was itching for her to find out the truth.

The chemistry between Aubrey and Jaylon was hot. The sex scenes were pretty racy and detailed but not on every other page which I was thankful for as I prefer a decent plot with a few sex scenes over something that is basically porn. I was gutted when the story suddenly ended a little unexpectedly. I felt there was a lot more still to be told and I ached to read the next in the series where I hope Aubrey and Jaylon's story will continue and that Aubrey learns more about her heritage. Plus, I want to know more about the rest of the pack. Especially Dyami.

Aubrey Devlin trained her entire life to become a Huntress. After she is overlooked, she gets a job as head of security for the band Riot. Unbeknownst to her, she is protecting the creatures she has trained her entire life to kill; not to mention attracted to a werewolf.

Aubrey was a good heroine. I felt bad that she was not chosen to be a Huntress when her twin was. I would imagine that being difficult emotionally. She is strong mentally and physically. I like that she is eventually open minded.

I enjoyed Jaylon. I found it amusing that he was socially awkward. Especially considering he is a rock star. He is considerate, caring, and a worthy hero.

Wolf Slayer is a very creative story with some interesting twists. I enjoyed the hunter aspect of the plot. It is a fun and quickly read. After reading this book, I would definitely continue the series.

"4 out of 5 stars! A unique paranormal romance about a woman who gets to choose her mate between two opposing enemies, yet when her sister has already been chosen for the "Huntress" side will she be able to loose her heart to a werewolf or is her love for her sister stronger then anything else?

This intriguing novel definitely got me interested into this series!"

I didn't enjoy Wolf Slayer as much as I liked Cursed, but it was still a fun little read. I had a few issues with the hero, and the resolution to the protagonists' conflict was too rushed. Still, I'm looking forward to reading more of the series. It's an entertaining diversion if you have an hour you need to fill.

Great second story in Addams's series which puts a new twist on the werewolf mythology. This novella makes me want the next one! Oh, and Jaylon is way better looking than the cover!

I hate not finishing series but I'm done with this one. I may go back to it someday but I'm so sick of these short books and them either thinking about or doing sex on every dang page of the books!!

In this second instalment of the Order of the Wolf, Ms Adams reveals more of the Hunter side of the conflict, and provides readers with an insight into the possibility of two mates for each Huntress and the prejudices of the uneducated.

Aubrey is left dealing with emotional trauma after her rejection as a Hunter mate. As a woman who has trained her entire life for just this purpose, she is left floundering when a Hunter claims her twin sister, but Aubrey is told that it is not her time.

Jaylon is the quiet and subdued compared to his brethren. He doesn’t seek out female companionship, due to his lack of charm and finesse. But when he crosses paths with Aubrey in his wolf form, Jay has no doubt this woman is meant to be his.

Aubrey is passionate, but conflicted, while Jaylon is intense, drop dead gorgeous and so much better looking than the cover depicts!! Together they are captivating in their tumultuous relationship, fraught with desire, danger, and near death experiences.

Some girls aspire to dream about Prince Charming coming to sweep them off their feet? No, that's not true here. Corra and Aubrey Devlin grew up with different set of fairy tales. These twins with Amazonian (ancient Amazonian warrior ancestry) DNA share atypical dreams and motivation from modern day women. They dream about a Hunter for each to claim them as their own. He is the embodiment of hope. He would claim his chosen which unlocks her Huntress powers. They become an unstoppable combination in the war against werewolves, a wolf-slayer duo. As I was saying, readers aspire for something else.

I wish it was longer, but Jaylon and Aubrey made a nice couple. They're both headstrong, but can be sweet and compassionate. I'm actually glad Aubrey didn't become a huntress with the order and ended up with a pack of werewolves, the things she's been trained to slay her whole life, talk about a good dose of irony. >_<

I really enjoyed the second book in the series. You get to see more of the band/pack, and the main characters from the first book. I loved Aubrey's character. She's the no nonsense taking, kick ass bitch, definitely my favourite character in this book. You get to learn more about the Hunters' and Huntresses. An awesome read indeed. Really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

A great wee addition to the series. Much preferred this one to the first, I think because I liked both the hero and heroine in this one better. Looking forward to more.
