Tijdens Violet’s achtste zwangerschap gebeurt het ondenkbare. Haar echtgenoot overlijdt en laat haar achter met 7 kinderen en een 8e op weg. In dit kortverhaal lezen we hoe Violet met de situatie omgaat en alles doet om haar kinderen een goede toekomst te bieden. Het verhaal laat de breekbare kant van Violet zien en dat is wel verfrissend als we zien hoe ze in de serie is. Al bij al een goed verhaal, maar toch wat te kort voor mij om echt een goed, compleet beeld van haar te hebben. Daarom geef ik vier sterren voor dit boekje.

It was fun to get one last Bridgerton story, and I’ve always loved Violet, especially after her being the best thing about book 3. I was a little disappointed more time wasn’t dedicated to her romance with Edmund. There were just lots of brief glimpses and jumps forward in time.

Es ist nicht schlecht, man darf nur nicht zu viel erwarten. Ich habe eine halbe Stunde gebraucht, um Violets Geschichte zu beenden. Alles wird nur angerissen, Kindheit, kennenlernen mit Edmund, sein Tod, ein Maskenball, ein Geburtstag. Das Buch ist kurz, klein (es passt nicht zu den anderen Schmuckausgaben der Reihe, vom Design ja, es ist aber kleiner und das ist nichts für meinen inneren Monk), die Schrift groß. Also nicht viel Inhalt. Kurz gesagt: die Printausgabe ist mit 16€ viel zu teuer. Für eine Kurzgeschichte ganz nett, aber weder Violets und Edmunds Geschichte vernünftig erzählt, noch anderweitig toller Input. Nette, kurze Unterhaltung, ein eigenes Buch wäre nicht nötig gewesen.

Julia Quinn bringt mit Bridgerton – Violet: Novelle eine kurze, aber bewegende Geschichte heraus, die die Lebensreise von Violet Bridgerton in charmanten Anekdoten erzählt. Die Novelle bietet einen nostalgischen Einblick in das Leben von Violet und ist ein echter Leckerbissen für alle Bridgerton-Fans.
Die Stärke des Buches liegt in seinem unterhaltsamen und romantischen Stil, der den bekannten und geschätzten Flair der Bridgerton-Reihe einfängt. Der Schreibstil ist gewohnt leicht und flüssig, sodass die Novelle mühelos in einem Rutsch gelesen werden kann – bei mir war es in etwa einer halben Stunde erledigt. Allerdings bleibt hier auch der größte Kritikpunkt: Die Kapitel hätten gerne länger und tiefgründiger sein dürfen. Es fehlt manchmal an Details, die den Anekdoten mehr Tiefe verleihen könnten, was die emotionale Wirkung noch verstärkt hätte.
Ein weiterer Kritikpunkt ist der Preis. Mit 16 € für das Print und 11 € für das E-Book wirkt die Novelle im Vergleich zum Umfang etwas überteuert. Hier hätte ein niedrigerer Preis die kurze Länge besser ausgeglichen.
Trotzdem bleibt Violet: Novelle ein unterhaltsames Zwischendurchlesen, das Bridgerton-Liebhaberinnen sicher schätzen werden. Für die nostalgischen und romantischen Momente vergebe ich solide 4/5 ⭐️.

I'm sobbing😭 the tragic love story so great that all 8 of their children believed in true love😭😭 Violet is the very best Bridgerton and if you've watched the shows and love her even more, this story is so heartbreaking and lovely!

Son un bonito CHILDHOOD FRIENDS TO LOVERS y creo que como dice Julia, este librito es el cierre perfecto para todo.
Él tenía 10.
Ella tenía 9.
Él le tiró harina al cabello.
Ella lo odiaba.
SE REENCONTRARON 9 AÑOS DESPUÉS.
Ella no lo recordaba.
Él recordaba todo de ella.
SE CASARON SEIS MESES DESPUÉS.
Ambos perdieron su virginidad juntos.
Él dijo que la estaba esperando.
Ambos se prometieron una buena vida :(
Creo que son épicos y me hubiera gustado más, pero creo que es el cierre perfecto y la nota de amor mád bonita.

I read this previously in the Happily Ever After book. My review is below.
I read Violet’s epilogue, as I had already read the other epilogues. I loved reading about Violet! It started out with her as a little girl and I was chuckling the whole time reading! Then I swooned when she encountered and later wed Edmund. Then I cried….when you know….and then at the end I was smiling again. Loved that she has/had a fulfilling life!

I'm a LITTLE disappointed that Violet didn't actually get a Happily Ever After BUT I think it was clever of the author to show that she actually was happy and I loved seeing bits and pieces of her and Edmund falling in love.

Violet fand ich in der Serie schon bemerkenswert und ist eine meiner liebsten Figuren. ✨ Ich finds schön, dass es eine kleine Novelle von ihr gibt, mit tollen, aber auch emotionalen, Einblicken. 🥹

Ik ben fan van Bridgerton. Ik las de 8-delige reeks van Julia Quinn over een Engelse adellijke familie tijdens het regency-tijdperk enkele jaren geleden in een recordtempo uit. De afgelopen maanden keek ik reikhalzend uit naar de start van het derde seizoen van de Netflix-reeks. En toen ik ontdekte dat er een prequel bestond, moest en zou ik deze ook lezen. De novelle ‘Voor altijd en eeuwig’ vertelt het verhaal van Violet en Edmund, de stamouders van de Bridgerton-clan. Ik vind novelle nogal een groot woord voor dit boek, want het telt amper 64 pagina’s en bestaat uit een aantal korte hoofdstukken doorheen het leven van Violet. Ik las het in één ruk uit en hoewel het door de schrijfstijl van Quinn en de personages perfect binnen de Bridgerton-reeks past, is het voor mij één grote gemiste kans. Een groot liefdesverhaal zoals dat van Violet en Edmund verdiend in mijn ogen veel meer dan het nu gekregen heeft. Dit boek is louter een brood-kruimel voor fans en ik blijf misnoegd op mijn honger zitten...

4 star prequel 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Love that Julia Quinn included Violet Bridgerton's story as a last Bridgerton book. I enjoyed how Violet didn't really care for Edmund, and then they eventually married. I thought it was a really cute scene in the story. I wish that it would go a little more detail about Violet and Edmund's relationship before they ended up marrying.
I find it admirable that Violet never ended up remarrying. Some women who lost their husbands end up remarrying, like Francesca married Michael when she was married to his brother, John. I also liked how they included a little of the 3rd Bridgerton book, when Violet was dancing with another man, and her children were shocked and talking back and forth.
The ending scene was a little bittersweet to me since I loved the Bridgerton series with the Bridgerton kids, and this was the last one of the series. Violet and her daughter, Daphne, sitting together and talking about happiness, was one of the best endings for this book.

Questo breve racconto di Violet Bridgerton è stato molto interessante e... commovente. Ormai sono passati anni dalla data di pubblicazione della serie Bridgerton, ma mi chiedo perché mai Julia Quinn ha lasciato che i personaggi prendessero questa via.😭
Violet ed Edmund avrebbero avuto una vita ben più che felice, ne sono sicura. Il loro amore è stato il migliore, in tutta la famiglia Bridgerton. Avrei letto un romanzo intero, solo per saperne di più.
Sono felice che abbiano adattato questa saga in una serie TV. Spero solo che prendendo la decisione di seguire le scelte di Mrs Violet Bridgerton, le stesse che ha preso nei libri.🙂↕️

В края на книгата Госпожица Бриджъртън е поместена новелата Историята на Вайолет, за което съм много щастлива. Разказът е кратък (а така ми се искаше да е повече) и ни поднася великата любовна история межди Вайолет и Едмънт. Виждаме ги първо като немирни деца, които си погаждат номера, а с��ед години като младежи, които се ухажват на бал, до момента на сватбата им, а след това и до трагичната смърт на Едмънт, за която знаем от предходните книги. Ето защо тази новела за мен си беше емоционална. Така и не сме се срещали с Едмънт преди, но във всяка една част от поредицата Бриджъртън винаги е споменаван с огромна любов. Може в случая оценката да ми е по-скоро от сантименталност, но давам 5*.

Violet in Bloom is a perfect summarisation of Violet Bridgerton’s life outside of her starring moments in the novellas. It’s short, sweet and terribly endearing. My poor heart ached and suffered alongside her misfortunes and soared with her happiness. I understand now why she’s Quinn’s favourite character.
There’s not much else I can say, with the exception of: if you’ve reached this far, this was written for you.

Heel leuk om te lezen vanuit Violet haar kant.
Helaas dat het maar zo’n super kort verhaal was. Ik had Violet wel haar happily ever after gegund mét een nieuwe man, maar helaas was het haar niet gegund.
Gelukkig dat ze veel steun en liefde van haar familie krijgt.
Al om al, leuk om te lezen :).

Oficialmente con este término la saga Bridgerton y tengo tantos sentimientos encontrados.
Pero bueno, leer como se conocieron Violet y Edmund fue hermoso y como el sentía que todo el tiempo la estuvo esperando a ella, necesito que se haga ya la adaptación de su historia para poder ser feliz.
La autora tenía razón al decir que es el cierre perfecto para la saga.

This was such a missed opportunity, in my opinion. I don’t feel like I really learned anything new about Violet. I expected this to be a story of either her courtship with Edmund (in detail) or of her finding love again as a widow. It all felt very surface-level. I know it was only a short novella, but I think the author could have done much more with it.

Het was een jaar geleden dat ik las over de fantastische familie Bridgerton maar deze prequel kon ik toch niet laten liggen toen ik wist dat die ook zonder de tweede epilogen te lezen is.
Ik moest even wennen aan dit boek vanwege alle tijdsprongen maar desondanks baalde ik dat het af was en ik heb genoten om de kinderen op het gemaskerd bal, HEERLIJK.

I loved this little insight into Violet’s mind, and the relationship and loss she experienced with Edmund. The best though, was her explaining how she ended up in life exactly as she wanted at the end <3
