Tashi, a former tennis prodigy turned coach, transformed her husband into a champion. But to overcome a recent losing streak and redeem himself, he'll need to face off against his former best friend and Tashi's ex-boyfriend.
justin kuritzkes is a genius. as a huge huge huge huge fan of challengers, this was actually a really enlightening experience!!! i honestly have no words for how INCREDIBLE this screenplay is. the storyline, the characters, the details - everything is perfect and i would give justin kuritzkes my right arm if he wanted it.
i’m not sure why i decided to read this but im so glad i did. i think the really exquisite thing about challengers is how all three of the characters are so innately destructive, and as much as they try to pull away, they simply come back with 10x the force. i think this is one of the best movies of the decade and i will be reading more screenplays from now on.
3.5!! It was great to actually read the though behind this movie and study / think about it in depth. I enjoyed how strong the characters were written, as well as the dramatic arcs throughout. It's nothing too profound, but it's really solid and well-done.
