'Panakam on the Rocks' is a feel-good novel that dabbles in more than one genre without the plot losing its steam or outstaying its welcome. The author's style of writing in simple Telugu with an occasional smattering of adages makes it a breezy read.
I, for one, really loved the way she described the protagonist's state of mind when he catches feelings for someone special. I also liked how the music playlists in the novel also reflected the tone of the proceedings. And given the core elements of the plot, it's praise worthy how it never devolved into preaching or virtue signalling at any point.
All in all, a decent debut. All the best to Madhuri garu :)
