Every week, 27 children in the US, and 2 children in the UK, are abused to death. How can we prevent their suffering?
I write to raise awareness, and the six stories in Volume 4 include some of the most horrific cases you will ever read:
Adrian – after years of unspeakable torture, his body was fed to the pigs Hana – adopted by a religious couple who believed in total submission Max – his emaciated body was found in a faeces-caked room Daniel – starved to death at just four years old
These stories are firstly told from the child’s point of view, with all fictionalised elements based firmly on the facts. In addition, you will read about:
The injuries each child suffered The trials and sentencing of their murderers The possible reasons why parents commit these horrific crimes
Join me in my search for answers to the question, “How can we save children's lives?”
Not suitable for children, nor those who find depictions of children's suffering deeply upsetting
and once again a beautifully written book about 6 incredibly beautiful children who have unfortunately all passed away from us. It remains incomprehensible that the stories described unfortunately still have to be expressed in order to achieve justice, all over the world, but in particular the UK and America, so that children can live their lives as they should. in good health, with love and attention, with proper education and above all WITHOUT violence and neglect.
What started for me last year by watching The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez has now grown into exploring the internet, Facebook, TikTok and Jessica Jackson's books. All these things have made me better at observing children and their parents and/or caregivers.
The descriptions of Maxwell, Star, Adrian, Hana, Daniel and Shane and their too short and brutally brutal lives never fail to amaze me as to how these monsters have the ability to do this at all. Shane and Hana's lives started off fun and loving, but due to a fateful turn in their lives, they ended up with "people" who were anything but loving. Punishments because certain actions were not performed properly are disgusting. The short and brutal lives of Adrian, Star, Daniel and Maxwell are beyond comprehension. It is a good read, but at many times it is so painful to read further that it is absolutely incomprehensible on all sides how someone could be like this. Jessica has subtly and beautifully but very poignantly depicted the lives of these beautiful children. May they find peace on the other side of the rainbow and have support and fun together.

While I look forward to Jessica’s work at the same time, I don’t. We know the topic and the general story, neglectful, abusive parent puts the kid through hell and then is surprised at the death of the child and punishment. We all know the story but what makes these stories worse, is that this is still happening today. Jessica isn’t, pardon the pun, digging up old torturous tales. No. This is happening today and to add to it, the people that are supposed to help these continue to overlook the abuse despite multiple people making complaints. Are they looked over out of shear laziness, the not wanting to believe someone would treat their child so horribly or does the mask of religion blur the boundaries. In no way does Jessica blame religion for these atrocities but I think it’s a common practice to maintain control through fear.
The lives of these children are truly heartbreaking to read. It’s hard to believe that any human being could be involved in such cruelty to their own children. So many lives unnecessary lost before they even have the chance to begin. It’s unbearable to think about the torture these children received without feeling physically sick. These people should be jailed for life and not released to go on and start a new family or have any sort of life at all. Justice for these children is crucial they deserve to be remembered and not forgotten about. Well done Jessica for all your research and raising awareness surrounding child abuse and speaking for the children. God bless any friends or family who have tried to intervene without success and have lost a child they loved.
Jessica Jackson has a unique way of telling the stories from the child's point of view, not from investigators, families, friends, relatives, ect. I think it has a greater impact on us than merely hearing their story recounted by everybody else. In this way, she gives these children a voice that enables them to " tell" their stories to us. Very tragic stories, RIP to all the children. Thank you, Jessica, for continuing to fight to make these stories and the children's predicaments known. Keep it up!
It is so hard to read about these children who were abused to death. However, they suffered the torture and died at the hands of those who were entrusted with their well-being, and they certainly deserve to have their stories told.
I have to wonder what it's going to take to protect these vulnerable and helpless children from sadistic monsters. Sometimes a parent is the abuser, but more often it is a stepmother/stepfather or a girlfriend/boyfriend. Oftentimes the abuse is reported but no action is taken.
Hello i love your books as they reveal child abuse in all it's forms. As a child abuse survivor myself abused physically, emotionally and verbally abused by my mother i wish someone would have done something as well. I had to runaway to survive using means i am not proud of but had to do to get away. Thanks again for being the one to expose abuse for what it is and noone doing anything to help. Child abuse is a very ugly thing.
I loved the truthfulness and disclosure this author brought. I hate stories like this but it does bring back the reality in which these sweet babies had to suffer through, making me even more conscious and vigilant in seeing behind the veil that these monsters put up. You are a wonderful author and you have nerves of steel, but I can easily detect the compassion you have for the real victims. Thank You
while i don't condone child abuse I enjoy reading about the ways th8ngs are chang8ng & the laws being passed, even though they don't always help. If a parent or caretaker wants to abuse a child they will find a way.I found this to be one of the best from this series but I was horrified most by Adrian's death. How could they? I pray for all abused children to get the help n resources needed b4 it is too late
Beautifully written, and absolutely heart-wrenching. I couldn't help but shed tears, as I read this. Jackson does a perfect job of keeping your interest and engaging your emotions.
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
Reading this book hit hard the abuse some of these poor defenceless children suffered was just shocking The abuse by step parents when real family wished too keep the children happy and safe is despicable if u cant love the child let them be happy elsewhere
It’s easy to imagine that each and every one of these young helpless children whispered their confusion, pain and pleading into Jessica Jacksons ear. Every story is told tactfully and yet impactful. Have your tissues near by.
Jessica does such good work at writing these stories through the perspective of the babies who left this world too soon due to very ugly people. Although the stories are sad and disheartening, this was a really captivating read. All of her books in the series have been very well done.
I’ve read a few of these books now and agree these are shocking. Why on earth is this allowed to keep happening in a world that seems to care more about its animals than the children.
So heartbreaking. More stories of children abused and killed at the hands of them who are meant to love and protect them. Instead they take everything away from them and slowly torture and kill.
Truly horrifying that this is still happening day in day out.
Each book in this series, the cases of abuse gets worse and still shines the light of how these cases were missed despite people raising concerns. Well done to the author for bringing these harrowing stories to us ensuring these children are never forgotten and raising awareness of such cases.
A Voice They Never Had in Life. Abused To Death 4 is a truly chilling book which is very graphic and realistic. It is the 4th book by the author Jessica Jackson and an incredibly sad and touching book with heart-rending stories. Jessica gives these poor children a voice. A voice they never had in life. These tales will break your heart. Most are told from the child's point of view, which is even more disturbing, as the children cannot understand why they are being treated so horribly. Even when the authorities get involved in these six cases as numerous requests come into police, child and family services and several other departments from concerned family somehow, these children fall through the cracks of the legal system once again. It is incredibly sad that even today with everyone being alerted to these tragedies on the news, people still do not feel children should be listened to and have a voice. In this book there are plenty of warning signs that not only you will hear from the victims but also the research Jessica has done when authoring this book. The stories are heartbreakingly very sad as no one can grasp why parents would go to such extreme measures of maltreatment to the extent of killing their own child. There needs to be more information shared with the world about such horrific acts of violence against children. My heart broke whilst reading the tragic stories of these children and the tears ran down my face. But the author Jessica did an excellent job of telling this story and giving you a true feeling of who each child was. To Jessica your stand on writing about children who are neglected, abused, and killed by family members is admirable as it is a hard subject to write about but beautifully written and the pictures of each child in happier times was a lovely touch once again and a wonderful way for us all to remember them by. I am part of the ARC group for Jessica Jackson, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Graphic, heart breaking. Each case is written with a great deal of empathy and sensitivity. I found reading about each beautiful child and how their parents or caregivers systematically harmed, tortured, withheld the most basic of necessities such as food, water, a toilet, a comfortable bed to sleep in, friends to play with, schooling; horrifying and heart breaking. Those poor, defenceless little children must have felt like they were stuck in the most terrifying nightmare with no possible escape. As I read about each child's short and terrifying life, my heart just broke over and over again. I could not understand how adults could treat children like this; to literally abuse them to death. Human services also failed by not being thorough enough in investigating these cases. Let's hope that they greatly improve their practices sooner rather than later. Although it was painful to read, I enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has compassion and empathy towards children who are being mistreated.
I want to thank Jessica for the opportunity to be on her ARC team in exchange for my honest opinion. What these unbelievable heartbreaking stories have in common, are many are from broken homes, and homes faced with addictions. But what they all have in common are that multiple people and organizations yet again have failed these children. Not just once, but over and over. Better regulations must be set up for home schooling and adoption. When police or child welfare checks to see if a child is ok, they need to ask the child and siblings. Not the possible abuser. Is that not common sense? Also, if a piece of crap posts their abuse on social media and other pieces of crap view it, the entire pile should be prosecuted.
Make sure you have a box of tissues close by when you start reading this book. My heart breaks for each child and I can't help but cry over them. Every day all over the world, children are being abused and murdered by people who are supposed to love and care for them. Ms. Jackson brings these stories into the limelight to bring more awareness of how severe a problem it is. She tells the children's stories with such gentleness and tact and makes sure the murderers are given no mercy because they don't deserve any. These stories will make you more aware of the children around you. Like Ms Jackson says, If you see something, say something. It could save a child's life. I would highly recommend it. I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Another excellent portrayal mainly from the victim perspective. It is incredibly sad to learn how terrible it must have been for all the children that Jessica tells us about. I always like that the perpetrators are not sensationalised in any way and given celebrity status and the focus is always on the children and giving them a voice and raising awareness. Another very well researched and well written book by Jessica. I would highly recommend all her books however they are not for the faint hearted and be prepared to be upset and maybe even sick by what you are reading but it is so important there are books like this out there and hopefully if spotted early enough and intervention put in place it may prevent another child in future suffering the same fate.
It’s easy to imagine that each and every one of these helpless young children whispered their confusion, pain and pleading into Jessica Jacksons ear. Each story is heartbreaking. Have your tissues close.
In Abused to Death 4, Jessica provides us with six more stories of Abused Children! The stories are True and quite SAD but somehow the reader is gripped by the stories she writes!!
