Bella Winters didn't come to Danger Falls looking for charity, but I'm not the kind of man who leaves a woman out in the cold, even one defiant enough to storm off into a blizzard.
That's why I went after her... and why I belted her bare ass once I had her back safe and sound.
But making her scream my name in bed is one thing. Making her mine forever is another.
To do that, I'll have to face the demons that brought her here... and the ones that still haunt me.
Publisher's Jagger is the second book in the Mountain Men of Danger Falls series but can be read as a standalone. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
Bella is having a last dinner with her best friend before leaving town. She needs to get away from her ex. He is abusive and is threatening to take her daughter who isn't even his biologically. They are both doctors but he blames her for the tongue lashing he got when he botched a surgery and she had to take over to save the patient. He became physical and she needs to run. Jagger runs Foxhead Resort and Winery with his two brothers. He hates it. He hates the holidays and people, live people. He's a grouchy grump who pushes everyone away...including his brothers. As he's walking away from his brothers he hears the front dest employee talking to a woman with a small child. He goes to find out what's going on and tells the guy to get her a cabin. Then he takes her and her daughter for food before having them follow him to the cabin. Bella is a wounded woman physically and emotionally. She is divorcing her husband for his infedelity and abuse. She gets in her vehicle with her daughter and heads out. She manages to get to a snow resort where a guy helps her. She doesn't want help but she has her daughter to think of. The two are like two peas in a pod. Both broken and prickly. They tend to rub each other the wrong way. Then her soon to be ex husband starts threatening her. Jagger being the ex military/mercenary that he is knows something isn't right about her. He starts to put certain things together like a puzzle. Eventually she tells him some things about her life. But not only does her life intrude on them but his past does also. He has things he's hiding from her. Now they have to fight to live...will they make it or will she need to disappear as far as she can get? An amazing story with two strong people, male and female, who work against each other then together to win a life they want.

Captivating read; Jagger helps a young mother that is obviously fleeing something dangerous Jagger is working alongside his two brothers to keep their parents’ legacy operational, as one of the main employers in Danger Falls it is extremely important and in the height of the skiing season and just prior to Christmas it is at its busiest. This is their first Christmas running the hotel and Jagger is struggling at this the holiday period with all the decorations and good cheer he can feel his teeth being grinded away as he tries to keep his temper in check and hold on to his temper and patience which are always in very short supply and the hotel staff are only too aware of this fact, Bella and her three-year-old daughter Cally are on the run from her abusive husband who like her is a surgeon the only difference is that she is very good at her jod and he was not and he resented her for this fact and had abused her on more than one occasion, no more though she had grabbed her daughter a little cash and made a run for Danger Falls. She had been given a small bungalow by Jagger when he had seen her and Cally trying desperately to keep it together in the middle of a snow storm after being told there were no rooms, Jagger had even helped them to buy groceries and she had fixed up one of the chefs who had cut himself quite badly. As they spent time together Jagger knew there was a connection between them and also that he was running, he told her that he would protect them both and Bella knew that he was being totally honest and for the first time she felt this was a man that would keep his word. There is plenty of action in this story and I do not want to spoil the read for others, I will guarantee that like me you will be left looking forward to the next book in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
Piper Stone delivers a gripping, adrenaline-fueled romance in Jagger, the second book in the Mountain Men of Danger Falls series. This steamy, suspenseful read is packed with tension, sizzling chemistry, and the kind of protective, dominant hero who refuses to let go once he’s claimed what’s his. If you love rugged mountain men, fierce heroines with a past, and a romance that burns as hot as it is dangerous, then Jagger is a must-read.
Escaping a painful past, the heroine arrives in Danger Falls with her daughter, hoping for a fresh start. But when her financial safety net is suddenly cut, she finds herself reluctantly accepting help from Jagger Fox, a brooding, possessive alpha whose intensity is impossible to ignore. Tall, commanding, and irresistibly dangerous, Jagger refuses to let her struggle alone—even when she tries to resist his offer.
What starts as reluctant gratitude quickly ignites into something far more consuming when a snowstorm forces the heroine to revisit her life as a doctor, bringing her and Jagger closer in unexpected ways. The electricity between them is undeniable, and as passion turns into something deeper, it becomes clear that neither of them can outrun their pasts. But when danger comes knocking, Jagger proves he will do whatever it takes to protect the woman and child who have stolen his heart—even if it means unleashing his ruthless, unyielding wrath.
Stone masterfully weaves passion and suspense, creating a love story that is both heart-pounding and heart-melting. The romance is intense, the action is gripping, and Jagger is the kind of hero who will leave you breathless. With scorching tension and an unbreakable bond at its core, Jagger is a thrilling escape into the world of possessive, protective mountain men who love fiercely and fight even harder.
Jagger is the 2nd book in the Men of Danger Falls series and can be read as a standalone. The series follows three brothers Shepherd, Jagger and Hunter who are estranged and damaged by their past. They are brought together again because their dying father blackmailed them into running his billion dollar resort called Foxhead in order to receive their inheritance. While they're anything but happy they each take on a section that suits their strengths. The first book followed Shepherd's journey now we get to experience Jagger's. Bella and her daughter Cally are hiding from her powerful and dangerous soon to be ex-husband Joel. While they're both surgeons he's jealous of her talents and takes it out on her by abusing her. When he threatens to ruin her and take her daughter she decides to run. They end up in the town of Danger Falls at the Foxhead Resort. Jagger prefers to be alone unfortunately duty calls and he's grouchier than ever. When a commotion at the front desk started he knew he needed to step in what he didn't expect was to take pity and help the woman with the small child. He found himself drawn to her as he tries to figure out what she's hiding all the while trying hard to deny what he's feeling. I don't want to give to much away so I'll sum up by saying their story will pull you in, make you feel their trials and tribulations, ups and downs, anger and love. Their story won't be easy to forget. I can't wait to see what's in store for Hunter. I received a free copy from Booksprout an I'm voluntarily leaving my review.
Piper continues to write fresh ideas with colorful characters and wild situations. What happens when to damaged souls are thrown together in a small town with a lost dog, an evil sheriff and a nasty ex? Bella, a very talented surgeon, is fleeing her abusive, highbrow surgeon soon to be ex-husband Joel. Bella has adopted a young little girl, Cally. When Joel becomes physically towards Bella, she fills for divorce. She and Cally travel to the small town of Danger Falls. During a blizzard Bella finds there are no rooms at the local resort. Jagger is a stand offish, sometimes rude and downright mean, veteran who suffered unspeakable horrors while he was enlisted. For some reason he wants to help this feisty woman and gives them a place to stay. She and Cally end up in a posh cabin with one of the three brothers that own it. Joel continues his abuse via texting and phone calls. Bella is afraid Joel will come looking for her and Cally and make public a sex tape that he filmed at the beginning of their marriage. Will Bella and Cally have to continue to run from Joel? Will Joel be the abusive jerk and ruin all Bella’s dreams of a home in a town where everybody knows everybody? Can Jagger work through his issues and settle down with Bella and Cally? I highly recommend this book.

I don't think I haven't found a Piper Stone book that I haven't like and I wasn't disappointed in this story either, pack alot of action, secerts! Bella and Cally was trying to fine a better life for themselves where Bella was used has beating bag, lied too, used. She had enough and escape but her ex Joel has along reach and money and power which goes a long ways.Jagger is Mr Grumpy who decides break his walls down a little and help her and her daughter. They get to know each other,he is still Grumpy and she is scared of Joel finding out where she took of,she is getting threatening texts and phone calls.Things are looking up for Bella and her daughter, so much she thinking of taking over the Dr's practice but of course the threatens Jagger's life and makes Bella on edge, her daughter comes up missing and that doesn't help much, but they are able to overcome the threats then another person comes along and threats Jagger but Bella put her crossbow to use! Things do work out,Bella does takeover the Dr. Practice, Jagger is lest Grumpy and now Bella may get to meet the man who n is her father! I hope Hunter gets a story, maybe explore the mafia man who is Bella's father.
Well, well, well—Piper Stone really said, "You thought the first book was intense? Hold my beer." This is my second ride in this series, and somehow, she managed to outdo herself. I didn’t think it was possible, but here we are.
The setup? Familiar but still gripping. Bella is on the run from a truly vile ex, and Jagger, like his brother before him, is an emotionally unavailable, broody military man with enough baggage to fill an airport. Sparks? Oh, they fly immediately. These two challenge each other in all the best ways, and their chemistry is fire.
Piper Stone stepped up her game in this one. I really hated Bella’s ex just a couple of chapters in—like, throw-hands-on-her-behalf level of hatred. And Jagger? Absolute alpha grump perfection. But what truly set this book apart was the addition of Cally, Bella’s daughter, which added a whole new emotional layer to the story.
Technically, this one works as a standalone, but trust me—you want to read the first book first. You’ll miss some things otherwise, and why deprive yourself of more alpha growly goodness? Now, excuse me while I impatiently wait for book three.
He didn't realize that helping a complete stranger and her young daughter would eventually save his life. Haunted by ptsd and memories of his career as an army Ranger turned mercenary, Jagger is antisocial and grumpy and risky unapproachable. Being forced to run his father's resort with his brothers after his death doesn't help and he mostly stays behind the scenes and away from people. But something Bella, a desperate mother fleeing from trouble brings out his protective instincts. The more time he spends with her the more he starts to come back to life and feel again. But he's not a good man and who will protect her from himself? This gruff hero needs a protector himself and Bella is perfect for him. They're both hiding secrets and need to learn to trust again. I'm glad he finally showed his cinnamon roll inner self. Both of their traumatic pasts were written well and all the emotions that went with it. The story flows well and the characters and small town are likeable. I really enjoyed this story. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Jagger is the second installment in Piper Stone’s Mountain Men of Danger Falls series. In it she, chronicles the romantic journey of Bella Winters and Jagger Fox. She is a physician and a single mom. He is a former assassin and with his two brothers run the family’s resort. She ends up in Danger Falls because she is running away from her estranged and abusive husband, Joel Brockford. Joel comes from a wealthy and corrupt family. He uses his family to destroy her career and abscond with her finances, thus leaving her penniless and with bad credit. Destiny brings her and Jagger together. Will he keep her and her little girl safe? Can Bella clear her damaged reputation? Will Jagger and Bella find happiness together? To find out, you must read this book. Once again, Ms. Stone does a remarkable job with literary devices—characterization, dual POV, outstanding conversational and internal monologues. She uses a character-driven plot line for this romantic tale. I enjoyed how she uses intrigue by the antics of her antagonist, Joel.
I have been impatiently waiting for Jagger's story and the wait did not disappoint. Such a good book. A great, slow burn romance with a lot of small secrets that slowly play out through the story-line. Jagger is Mr Grumpy but Bella, along with her daughter Cally will change that and there is nothing Jagger can do to stop it. He comes across as an unfeeling obstinate brother doing his share of the work at the resort grudgingly. If he could get away with being a loner he would as his past rules his present. But upon meeting Bella, that changes as he is brought kicking and screaming in the world of relationships. He can't ignore their attraction to each other. Bella is running from an abusive relationship and needs to find her purpose again in Danger Falls. Their attraction is at risk as secrets have a way of destroying it before it truly begins. This is a slow burn, steamy, feel good romance. A great story for the second brother of this unlikely trio.
After recently reading Shepherd and Denise’s story, the bar was set super high, and I couldn’t wait for Jagger’s story. It was definitely worth the wait; with a gruff, alpha-hero and a vulnerable-but-strong female who was in a tough spot. In the beginning, I was worried that Bella was going to be weak and fearful, which is often a common trait in stories about women who escape abusive situations. Boy was I happy to be proven wrong! Bella was strong, funny, and determined to make a good life for her daughter. I loved that the book didn’t shy away from traumatic issues like the revenge-porn video or the abusive foster homes, but it allowed her to endure and overcome these situations with strength and dignity. I also loved watching Jagger grow and overcome his PTSD and to grow closer and learn to accept support from his brothers. I can’t wait for the third book!
This book is such a captivating read. It is well-written and the characters are so wonderful. Jagger Fox and his brothers have taken over the running of Fox-head Resort from their parents. Each brother had their own lives and were not happy about the situation. Bella takes her young daughter and leaves her hometown, because of an abusive relationship. Bella is having a problem getting a room at the resort. Jagger steps in and this is how him and Bella meet. The story is exciting, action-packed and both have secrets.

This series keeps getting better! I fell in love with Bella who leaves her job behind to start over with her daughter but not without fear from her soon to be ex-husband who is holding a video over her head and doesn’t understand why he won’t let her go. Enter Jagger who see a woman who sparks his interest being turned away at the front desk of their resort and steps in to help. Yet Bella has a stubbornness that continues to draw Jagger to her side by offering a job at the resort which turns out to be blessing in disguise when Bella steps in to take over care for victims of an avalanche. Jagger and his brothers use their backgrounds to discover what and why Bella is being haunted by her ex to try to cut him off at the past. You’ll be surprised at what is unveiled of Bella’s past that just about breaks your heart and will be rooting for Jagger to break out of his own past to accept Bella and her daughter in to his life!
This is a story about a Mom who is running from an abusive and cheating husband and trying to start a new life for herself and her daughter. She lands in a town and crosses path with a man who suffers from PTSD and who has cut himself off from his family and friends.
Bella and Jagger went from disliking each other to realizing they were good for each other. Bella and Jagger went through many obstacles overcoming the different traumas they both experienced. The characters are very likeable as well as Cally, Bella’s daughter. The reason I didnt give 5 stars was because Cally is said to be 3 or 4 years old and there were several instances it was not realistic in her actions in the story. I was all in all a great read with only a dash of spice. It was a fast paced read and would recommend to any who enjoy some romance.
This book was not quite what I expected. Jagger was beyond grumpy, but based on his past, it was perfectly understandable. The same could be said for Bella. I liked how she and Cally were able to slowly break down Jagger's walls. It was sweet how Cally didn't seem to mind Jagger's grumpiness.
The book left a few loose ends that could have been further explored. While it did not end on a cliffhanger, there were one or two points that could have been left open-ended to be addressed in a future book.
I did not read the first book in this series. This one can easily be read as a standalone. The danger, the twists and turns, as well as the ending were a surprise. It was entertaining and intriguing with a touch of suspense.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via Booksprout.
Ok, for me this was slow to start and I didn't gel with the two MCs. However, it did grow on me, as did Jagger and Bella, and I was glad I kept reading.
Danger Falls sounds like a great place to live. The small town vibe and local characters provide a wonderful back drop to Foxhead Resort, which happens to be owned by the three Fox brothers.
This is Jagger Fox's story complete with his grumpy moods, bouts of PTSD, and insta lust for a woman who will change his life for the better.
Both MCs had interesting back stories which forced the pace of the story and with the introduction of Esme as the new chef at the resort my guess is that Hunter (the final single brother) and Esme will become an item. I look forward to finding out if I'm correct.

I am a big fan of Piper Stone and love the Mountain Men of Danger Falls series. This is Jagger's story and, like his brothers, he is damaged and broken by his past. They all have secrets from their military and mercenary lives and it will take a special woman to find a chink in the armour that surrounds their hearts. Jagger is surprised at himself when he takes pity on Bella and her daughter Cally, but the attraction between the two of them is strong, but is it strong enough to survive the secrets they both have as their past and present collide. With an almost ex husband making dangerous threats, Bella is determined to fight him and Jagger will do whatever it takes to help her. This hot and steamy book has all the suspense and drama you can expect from Piper and more. This is a book you won't be able to put down.

I absolutely loved reading this outstanding book to read I couldn't put this book down, the story was written well and the characters were sensational. This story was about Jagger and Bella with the daughter Cally. Bella has had a harsh life and the secrets that she keeps. Jagger has built walls around himself so no-one can get too close the secrets and it makes him grumpy, he is ex-military like his whole family. Jagger and his brothers live in the town of Danger Falls by the mountains, the three brothers run the resort their father fixed up. Jagger and Bella, their chemistry goes off the charts and even more emotions when he show affections for Cally.

Another great story about the Fox brothers! Jagger Fox is known as Mr. Grumpy! His past haunts him and he has no use for women other than to scratch an itch. He is not interested in any relationship, until Bella and Cally Winters show up at the lodge! Bella is on the run from an abusive husband and needs a place to stay. Jagger is attracted to Bella and feels the need to protect her.
Bella is given a job in one of the restaurants (even though she is a physician), and gives little information about herself to those around her. As Bella and Jagger grow closer, secrets are revealed. Will this hinder a relationship between Jagger and Bella or will these secrets bring them closer together?
Looking forward to reading Hunter’s story next!

Both Jagger and Bella had lived a nightmare and both still had scars they had to overcome.
Jagger was no hero or so he thought until he met Bella and her daughter, he didn’t like to communicate with anyone, he was grumpy and unapproachable but for some reason he couldn’t resist Bella or her daughter!
This is one super intense action packed emotional roller coaster of a read that will take you from one emotional feeling to another as the gripping storyline takes hold of you.
With some steamy moments and sizzling feelings, you’ll love meeting new characters and welcome their HEA.

This storyline of Jagger, a closed off, former military man/mercenary who because of Bella and her cute daughter Cally bargaining into his life, he begins to live again. Bella is on the run from her abusive husband and through a "dart throw", she lands in Danger Falls where she meets Jagger. These two are the definition of opposites attract but their budding relationship is a beauty to read as each find that the other helps them in ways neither could have thought. I always hate to say that I thought this was better than book 1 because Shephard's story is just as beautiful as Jagger's but there was just something special about this story that I really loved.

Jagger and Bella and her daughter Cally. Shes a doctor and hes a former assassin who runs the town resort with his two brothers. Bella and Cally are on the run from her abusive ex who has ruined her career and finances. And she has a can take care of herself attitude. You go girl. Her ex Joel has a long reach. But in Danger Falls she wants to take over the Dr's practice until her past comes calling and chaos breaks out. Then her daughter goes missing. Then his past comes calling. So much chaos and so much passion and so much happening you cant put it down till the end. I have not read a Piper Stone book I didnt like and this is no exception.

Jagger is one of three brothers that took over for their parents running the resort. They all had to agree to the arrangement. Jagger is a loner. He likes being alone. He thinks he is not a good person and it’s better that he’s alone. He has a dark side. He too was a mercenary. Will anybody be able to find a connection with him? Bella doesn’t know where she is running to, but she must keep going to make sure she and her daughter Cally will be safe. She has got herself into a real mess! There is danger, lies, deception, loyalty, wavering feelings, passion and tenderness. Great story! I can’t wait for the next one.

Brilliant narration from Skyler Morgan, who brings out the humour, action, angst and heat to your ears.
Jagger is such a grump, who doesn't want anyone to know he has any soft spots. While Bella, doesn't want to be a damsel in distress, but when both need each other. Both are pure drama and know how to get under each others skins. Never mind the chemistry between them. Bella and her daughter Cally are on the run from an abusive ex who destroyed her career as a doctor and finances. Bella takes over the Dr's practice , all is good until her past comes calling and her daughter goes missing. Jagger knows what he must do and save the woman who is full of fire. These two hare full of heat and steam.
I loved the cover picture. The action in this story is ongoing through out the entire story. Everything happens at such a fast pace that it grabbed my attention at the very beginning. I loved Jagger, especially when Bella came barreling into his life and made him realize he had a chance at love. I loved how they navigated all of the obstacles that seemed to appear. I especially loved the addition of Cally to the story and her dialogue was well written and at times hilarious. It’s a great addition to the series, Mountain Men of Danger Falls aņd is definitely worth reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and are voluntarily leaving a review.
Bella picked Danger Falls by throwing a dart at a map in an attempt to get away from her abusive husband with her young son. She meets Jagger when she is trying to get a room at the resort he and his brothers have to run. He finds her a place in a remote cabin, but then they are trapped by a storm. Attraction surfaces and Bella discovers the difference between her ex and Jagger. Will they be able to help each other heal from their pasts.
I really enjoyed this book. I'm looking forward to Hunter's story.

Jagger is the second iBook in the series Mountain Men of Danger Falls. This is Bella Winters and Jagger Fox's story and what a story it was. Bella's running from an abusive ex and Jagger has no interest in getting into a relationship. Until he meets Bella and her young daughter Cally and his alpha male protector instincts kick in. As with all books I've read by Piper Stone, these characters well developed and compelling,. The storyline has great pace, action, drama, sizzle, steam, and more. Im looking forward to brother Hunter's book!! This was a 4 star read for me.

Honest Review here This book is instalust on steroids with zero emotional logic. Jagger falls in love...lust.. because… vibes? Belle doesn’t trust men, refuses help, acts permanently offended—yet has no problem enthusiastically hopping into bed. Trauma apparently switches off when the pants come off. Make it make sense. There’s no chemistry, just two hot people aggressively existing near each other. The smut feels copy-pasted from book one (same moves, same energy, new names). By halfway through I was bored, not angry—which is honestly worse. DNF’d with zero regrets. Predictable, repetitive, and wildly inconsistent. Not my cup of tea. ☕🚮
Bella leaves her hometown after discovering her husband with her ex best friend. When she didn't comply to his demands her husband became abusive making it imperative that she leave everything behind. It leads her to Danger Falls and Jagger a man that became captivated the moment he locked eyes with Bella. This action-packed story had me all caught up in the drama and cheering Bella and Jagger on to getting their chance for happiness.
