An heir...
Destined for a throne soaked in blood, Aurora Tepes must navigate the intrigues of court and the brutality of battle. As heir to the Crown Republic of Transylvania, she is bound by duty to protect her people, wielding her sharp mind and mastery of blood manipulation—no matter the sacrifice.

A century of war...
Beyond the walls, a conflict meant to be without casualties stains the hills with innocent blood while the powerful turn a blind eye.
But Aurora cannot.
Armed with the magic of her ancestry and revolutionary technology, she joins the Outliers—the oppressed, deemed inferior by the Republic—on the frontline, vowing to bring justice once she claims her crown.

A desire for more...
Dark secrets, deadly creatures, and new alliances test Aurora’s convictions as she confronts the savagery of her nature and an uncertain future that could unravel everything. But when she meets the longest-lived Outlier, a mysterious moon-haired captain whose magic holds world-changing secrets, destiny and duty collide.

Blood Sings is the first book in a new series filled with sizzling forbidden romance, ancestral blood magic, and vicious political intrigue. Perfect for fans of From Blood and Ash and The Serpent and the Wings of Night.

If you grew up obsessed with the UNDERWORLD movies and had a massive crush on Kate Beckinsale in leather then BLOOD SINGS is the book for you! Vampires have long been a favorite of mine in romance books and I was so excited to read this one and it did not disappoint. The world building was complex and I'll be honest, I had no idea what was going on in the first chapter but Denisa Mih does a great job of rolling out the world building, political climate, and societal structure over the initial chapters. Also the glossary of gods, places, and races, at the beginning of the book was really helpful so don't skip on that. The world building was so rich and detailed without being overwhelming and I really felt like I was there in the war-torn Transylvania ready to fight some monsters. While this had a historical fantasy feel (royalty, swords, etc) it also had some unique blends of magic and technology that brought something new to the typical fantasy book.

While BLOOD SINGS is technically dual POV, it's primarily told from Aurora's perspective and I really loved her as our FMC. She was tough, deeply compassionate, a bit idealistic, and more than anything determined to end the war and bring peace back to her people. After a tragic attack at the palace she flees into the outer wards to hide among the mixed-breed vampires and boy does she get a wakeup call about the war, the enemy, and everything she thought she knew about vampires and werewolves. I'm really looking forward to her continuing journey in the series because I have a feeling we're only seeing the beginning of what Aurora has in store for her powers and her people.

As a counterpoint to Aurora, our MMC Harbinger was dark, jaded, a ride-or-die for his found family, and hiding some major secrets. We learn a fair bit about Harbinger but there's still some unanswered questions and considering his background I'm really curious to see how he and Aurora will find their way to a happy ending. While I understand that Aurora and Harbinger were in lust (both body and blood) with each other I'm not sure I'm convinced yet on why they'd be developing feelings for each other. It just didn't seem like there were enough positive interactions between them to warrant that, but this is only the first book in the series (with no HEA yet) so hopefully future books will develop the romance side of their relationship a little better.

Alongside Harbinger was his ragtag crew, the Black Guild, and I enjoyed their antics and loyalty to each other. They don't exactly welcome Aurora into their fold but that's understandable since the pureblood vampires (born as vampires) and mixed-breed vampires (other races changed into vampires) haven't gotten along for almost 100 years. As for Aurora's friend Selena...I didn't really like her. I loved how much she wanted to protect Aurora but she also seemed to do everything she could to sabotage Aurora's progress with the Black Guild and while Aurora genuinely believed the purebloods and mixed-breeds were equals who deserved respect, Selena definitely saw herself as better than the mixed-breeds. Which also means Terraknight can do a lot better (just saying).

Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with this debut book and after that cliffhanger I'll be anxiously waiting for book 2. If you love vampires, unique magic and world building, some sexy biting, and an epic war between vampires and werewolves then check out this book, you won't regret it!

Content Warning: violence and death of a loved one; sexual assault and forced blood drinking on the FMC (not from the MMC)

Vampire empire at Transylvania.
Perfect spot🤌

There's a war between Republic of Transylvania and TsarDom Russskaya (yeah, I know, I hope the Tepes line 🔪 them all).
Aurora, the FMC, a strong young vampire, only 100 yo, who try to save her kingdom and save all citizens. But Her mother try to marry her with an allies son.
Aurora need to think fast and save herself till the time the Oldest awakes.
Be prepare to a lot of vampire, outliers, magic bonds and battles.
It's kinda a slow burn. And a little cliffhanger at the end.
but the story has so much potential.

I could have read 100 more chapters of this book. Original Purebred Vampires leading a war against the enemy. What more could you want?

I absolutely love the dynamic between our badass FMC Aurora and MMC Harbinger. They're the definition of a perfect slow burn. The banter between the two of them is so entertaining and when you add in the other side characters, its perfection. Terraknight and Selena are the amazing "right hands " of the MC's and they are hilarious and everything you'd want in a bff.

Not only do we have the slow burn romance and the found family trope, we also have the war and political aspect of the book, which was perfectly done. The war scenes in the book are the perfect balance of excitement, fear, sadness, and triumph.

The book does end in a cliffhanger, which I know is not for everyone. However, I am highly anticipating the next book and hoping our characters eventually get the HEA they deserve.

I read this book because one of my book besties recommended it to me, and I’m so glad she did! Aurora is a vampire princess, but she’s not at all what one would expect from her character. She’s SUCH a bada$$.

"War wasn't just what I did. It was who I was. It was woven into the fabric of my existence, as constant as my heartbeat. Peace? That was the fairy tale. This endless cycle of strategy, combat, and survival? That was my reality.”

Aurora isn’t afraid to get down and dirty and fight alongside her troops to unite her kingdom of pure bloods, half bloods, and other miscellaneous outliers. What she isn’t prepared for, however, is Harbinger; captain of the 10th Ward. He didn’t ask for Aurora’s help; nor does he want it. He sees her for exactly what she is on the surface, a princess.

“It was almost comical how delicate she seemed. Because she wasn't fragile like a flower. She was fragile like a meteor.”

Aurora is only too happy to prove him wrong. These characters have so much chemistry and are the definition of forced proximity and slooooow burn. 100% worth it! 🥵

This was my first book by author Denisa Mih, but it definitely won’t be the last! I’m already counting down to the sequel to Blood Sings! 🙌🏻

Denisa’s style of writing is almost poetic the way she describes her characters and their surroundings in such detail. One character is described as follows:
“His voice was pure velvet. It promised a messy tumble in black satin sheets and an inevitable broken heart.”
I don’t know why those two sentences stuck with me, but they did! 👏🏻 I felt like I was IN the story, I was a part of these characters.

I loved the depth to the characters, I thought the plot was well executed, there was a hint of spice, and I enjoyed the refreshing new content! I read a lot of romance and fantasy genres, but we all know they become predictable after a while. Not Blood Sings! I had no idea what was coming next, nor did I see that ending coming. Talk about twisty!

The only thing I didn’t enjoy about Denisa’s book was the ending (which isn't really a complaint; I'm just impatient lol). Oh the cliffhanger! 😭 I *NEED* to know how Aurora’s story ends and what role Harbinger plays in it.

Anyway, don’t just take my word for it! The release date is 2.22.2025. What are you waiting for?! Go get it! 😍

This book took a really creative spin on vampires. Instead of it being very archaic, we are thrown into a really high tech, futuristic world in which there are original vampires that descend from Dracula or his brothers, pure blood vampires, and half bloods. There is a really interesting hierarchy in this book that our main character deeply struggles with. Aurora, as the princess who should have been that is now involved in the war effort, struggles deeply with what the originals and pure bloods have done to the half bloods. The higher class lives in luxury and uses “projectors” to fight. Projectors are the higher class that project in and help lead battles while half bloods physically die by the thousands.

Aurora and her friend Selena, by necessity, venture out to be the Projector and leader of a captain named Harbinger’s squad. Out with the half bloods, secrets are unraveled, and there is a great feeling of found family. I loved Harbinger and Aurora’s dynamic. The author really fleshed out their enemies to lovers trope and how they had to put aside their differences. There was quite a cliffhanger, I will be reading the next book. This book was really great and creative, would recommend.

“Be careful what you wish for, princess. Death doesn’t play nice, and neither do I.”

A modern fantasy/sci-fi perfect for any vampire fan, think Underworld meets Matrix. There is a diverse range of characters to love and hate,
I loved the MMC Harbinger and his squad of misfits, it's a true depiction of the found family trope which I love so much.
Aurora and Selena's friendship is amazing, Selena has Aurora back no mater what!! And I love when books have this kind of friendship and support network....and the Banter! The dialogue was spot on with several highlighted lines as well.

The book does dive right into the action and world building. I did find myself getting lost on occasion between fight scenes and projection scenes and some plot revelations could do with some more explanation into why the characters reacted the way they did (this might just be me not paying attention) As this is a series I highly expect those parts for me will become clearer with a re-read or with the second installment.

Over all a fantastic first novel and I'll happily read it again. I'll definitely be diving into book 2 when it's available.

🌶️

Okay, listen. I have never read anything like this. I started Blood Sings at 11 PM, thinking, Oh, I’ll just read a few chapters. Big mistake. Next thing I know, it’s 3 AM, I’m emotionally unwell, and I’m demanding a formal apology from Denisa Mih because THAT CLIFFHANGER?? Ma’am, how dare you?! You have me screaming, crying, throwing up, and begging for more. (Commence the groveling 😭)

This isn’t your average vampire romantasy. No, no, no. This book literally will hold you hostage from reality in the absolute best way. It’s vampires, war, magic, and political intrigue, all wrapped up in a slow-burn romance so intense it should be illegal. Imagine Underworld meets forbidden magic, but with Transylvanian folklore and Dacian mythology woven in like and scifi aspects you’ve never seen before all rolled into one. We all know Dracula. We’ve all seen vampire stories that reference him. But Blood Sings? It rewrites the game.

What Makes This So Addictive?

🖤 A brooding, morally gray MMC. Mysterious. Dangerous. White-haired. A chiseled work of art. If he told me to walk into the depths of hell, I’d be like, which way, sir?
🔥 A romance that will wreck your soul. Slow burn? Check. Forced proximity? Check. Enemies-to-lovers so good you wanna throw the book at the wall and then pick it up to reread immediately? Check.
💀 A heroine who refuses to be a damsel. She’s fierce, stubborn, and constantly getting herself into trouble, but what I love? She owns up to her mistakes. She fails, but she learns. She’s not a perfect warrior or an untouchable goddess… She is real, she’s raw, and she fights for what she believes in.
🌙 A world that feels ancient, dangerous, and impossible to look away from. Magic. Monsters. War. Power struggles. It’s intoxicating.

Tropes We LOVE:

• “Who did this to you?”
• “May I grovel at your feet, sir?”
• “Give yourself to me, Aurora.” (screaming)

Personal favorite quotes that live in my brain RENT FREE:

💋 “Love, my dear, isn’t always a lightning strike. Sometimes it’s a slow burn that grows stronger with time.”
💋 “A dead queen serves no one. This isn’t a retreat, it’s strategic withdrawal.”
💋 “Fuck me, it was like staring into the sun. Beautiful and likely to burn your eyes out.”
💋 “Because she wasn’t like a fragile flower. She was fragile like a meteor.”

Final Thoughts:

This book is so much more than just romance; it’s politics, power, heartbreak, and some of the best banter I’ve read in ages. I was belly laughing. The friendships? Heart warming and soul-crushing. The betrayals? Top-tier. The only issue? I read it too fast and now I’m suffering.

Would I read it again? I am already rereading.

If you’re looking for something dark, unique, and completely unputdownable, Blood Sings WILL take over your life. Go read it. Now. What are you doing?! Get your life in order and start this one STAT. Chop chop my dude.

*Heavy sighs*. Pretty sure I just made a blood pact with the book on a red moon. May the creator have mercy on my soul and present me with book two ASAP. 😭✨

Are you looking for a unique plot and strong world building? Look no further. Releasing THIS Saturday. I was blown away by the elaborate and fully detailed world and the complex cast of characters. And even with all the world building, it's fast-paced and full of action. Not one page was boring. And some hot sexy stuff.... that leaves you really anxious for book 2.

I am not an I-love-a-lot-of-world-building girl, but I admit I was for this book. It was so confusing at times, but if you keep going, it starts to all make sense. I typically get too confused and bothered when I'm given too many new terms and information, but I held on and never found myself uncomfortable. I am glad the second book comes out soon because it really did end just as things ramped up, and then the cliff came, and now all I want is the second book. The writing was spectacular and the storytelling amazing. I just needed more, and I think book 2 will deliver.

An Impressive Fantasy Debut

Denisa Mih’s debut novel, ‘Blood Sings’, is a striking and compelling start to a new fantasy series. Aurora Tepes is the heir to the throne of the Republic of Transylvania, yet despite her father’s death, she remains sidelined. To claim what is rightfully hers, she must grow stronger. Accompanied by her friend Selena, she travels to the war zone, where the realities of battle, political intrigue, and a fascinating captain begin to reshape her destiny.

The opening of ‘Blood Sings’ takes a moment to settle into. The worldbuilding is rich and layered, and the number of terms introduced early on can feel intense. Once the foundations are in place, however, the story truly comes alive. From that point forward, the novel becomes difficult to put down, with tension, action, and intrigue pulling the reader deeper into its world.

What truly makes ‘Blood Sings’ stand out is the originality Denisa Mih brings to the genre. The blend of fantasy with technological elements in warfare adds a fresh and distinctive edge, giving the story a unique atmosphere that feels both dark and dynamic.

Denisa Mih’s writing style is immersive and vivid, filled with strong imagery and careful attention to detail. Beyond the action and politics, there is a clear emotional core. Aurora’s inner conflict and growth are portrayed with depth, making her journey feel meaningful and engaging.

The novel ends on a rather abrupt note, but instead of feeling unsatisfying, it works as a powerful hook. ‘Blood Sings’ leaves a lasting impression and creates a strong urge to continue the story in the next installment.

I was thrilled to join Denisa’s arc team and read Blood Sings. Her characters will make you smile, laugh, bite your lip and think. Aurora is a strong FMC with an uphill battle ahead to claim what is hers and on the uphill journey is Harbinger and the outliers who make her think even more, makes them all think about preconceived notions.

Her character development, her world building are all phenomenal and I can’t wait to see how this works out for this group among the drama, the laughter and the loss.

Aurora Tepes discovers a way to escape a forced marriage, only to find herself pulled into a mission that reveals far more than she ever anticipated.

There were political tensions, social issues between species, and a diverse cast of characters, each with unique abilities, pasts, and personalities.

Both main characters Aurora and Harbinger are concealing secrets which makes for betrayals and conflicts that keep you turning pages!

The romance is exquisite and nothing is overly rushed which makes the anticipation for book two even greater! The pining, longing, and dual POV’s were incredible.

This was a flawless vampire filled masterpiece!

Perfect for fans of From Blood and Ash or Serpent & the Wings of Night!

So let me start by saying I would have finished this book in one sitting if adulting hadn’t gotten in the way. I absolutely loved this book. From the minute you enter the world this author creates, you are thrown into the insanity and chaos of a Vampiric war, and meet a Projector, who is also the heir to the throne, Aurora. She is dynamite. A situation occurs (note there are trigger warnings at the front of the book), and she departs with her best friend, Selena, to be on the front lines with a group of outliers, led by Harbinger. This isn’t an insta-love situation, but the lust is strong. It is now up to her to figure out why this team has survived as long as they have, as well as stay true to herself and survive in complete madness, coupled with some intense feelings for a man she doesn’t know if she can trust or not. And then that ending, it’s just one of those cliffhangers that makes you want to stalk the author until she gives you the next part!
What I loved most about the story is how captivating it is. The author throws us into this amazing world and I appreciate that because she took me right there and I stayed throughout the whole book. I also found myself enthralled with the military aspect within their world. There was something about how it’s written that made me want to know more and absorb all the details. I should also mention every character you meet once Aurora and Sel have arrived with the outlier group was so well written, and the dialogue between them, and the friendship and camaraderie was completely felt on my end as the reader. Unfortunately, I am now going to have to wait for a book 2, but I am so grateful to have found this author and gotten the chance to visit her world.

Thank you to Denisa for allowing me to ARC read this book.

Aurora is a bada$$ FMC who has her struggles but works through them. She reflects on her decisions like an adult which is super refreshing.
Harbinger is the MMC who is definitely like a chocolate coated marshmallow, hard on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside.

Without spoiling anything, if you love the tropes above, you will really enjoy this book.

Blood Sings, book one of the Beyond the Gloom series by Denisa Mih
Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
4 stars

I have received an ARC for the second book in this series and read this one as it’s a necessity to set me up for my read of Blood Binds. (Obviously 😆)

I came into this novel expecting vampires, magic, political unrest and a “sizzling forbidden romance.” This delivered almost all of these. (I’m on the fence about the romance.)

There are a lot of things that I really enjoyed about this novel. The world building is heavy (I loved!) the political intrigue and unrest is tumultuous and deeply rooted (also loved!). I also really enjoyed the diverse magic systems of the Pure Bloods and the Outliers. (The author provides a glossary in the beginning of the book that I highly recommend reading as it sheds light on the races and structure of society etc…) The advanced, futuristic technology also brings something new to this genre of story telling.

The characters are well-developed. Aurora, the Pure Blood FMC, is such a great lead. She’s royalty in her world (eventually will wear the crown,) and has been taught that the half-breed Outliers are expendable. They are only good for using on the front line of the battlefield. She truly wants peace to return to her people and Transylvania and has conflicted feelings about the habits of the upper echelons and the treatment of the Outliers. She finds herself getting down and dirty on the battlefield as the Projector for a group of Outliers and begins to see the truth of the war and enemies, her people and the mixed-breed fighters. She struggles to prove to them that she respects them and doesn’t have the same opinion of them that her people (in general,) do.

Harbinger, the antagonist and MMC is dark and mysterious. He’s the commander (and longest living Outlier,) of the Black Guild, the group of Outliers that Aurora finds herself thrown into. He’s bitter, despises the Pure Bloods (naturally this includes Aurora) and is fiercely devoted to his band of fighters. (I’m loving the found family vibe of this group!) The longer he’s forced to interact with Aurora (he’s disgusted with himself for the overwhelming desire he has for her,) the harder it is for him to hide the dark secret he’s carrying.

This is plot heavy with good, steady pacing. The support characters are diverse, well-written and an absolutely integral part of story. I appreciated and enjoyed the banter, sarcasm and dark humor. I was equally fascinated with the Pure Bloods magic and the elemental magic of the Outliers. The only reason I gave this four stars instead of five is because I’m not entirely sold on the romance. YET. I’m hopeful that the next book will change my views.

We’re left on one hell of a cliff hanger and I am absolutely ready to dive into Blood Binds.

Thank you to NerdFam and the author for providing this digital novel to me in preparation for the ARC read of Blood Binds.

This novel was published on February 22, 2025.

This was an interesting one!

Let’s start with the good things: I loved the vampire world and blood magic. I really enjoyed majority of the side characters and I thought that world was unique. I also enjoyed the political intrigue at the beginning.

Now as for the rest I definitely think some things needed to be just a little more fine tuned. For a book that had a glossary and a lot of world building aspects, I feel like it was not explained well in the actual story. There were multiple times where I felt like a term or being was being discussed but there was little to no explanation in the actual story about what it was and it felt like the glossary was there to explain rather than be a reference if that makes sense lol. I love me a glossary, but I feel like it should be used as a reference for the reader to go back to after that have already learned what that word means in the story rather than having to go and look every time something new is introduced.

As for the main characters I didn’t hate them, but I also did not love them. I feel like their dialogue and romance was a little all over the place. I also felt like the pacing was off in this book and things seemed choppy sometimes or like they jumped in time at odd points. It felt similar with the romance as well.

I definitely think the story has potential and I am interested to see how the characters and story hopefully grow in the next book.

Thank you Denisa for the copy of this book. This was a really unique read! It made me think of a video game immersed into a fantasy book—think Destiny & Borderlands with vampires and magic.

It was different than I initially anticipated but I really liked how unique it was, and as a gamer girlie, I was definitely intrigued. I also found the parallels between this universe and our current reality really relatable and was empowered by the characters’ perspectives and actions.

I loved the character building in this book. Honestly the side characters were my favorites, they all had big personalities and the one liners and banter that came out of them were HILARIOUS!

There were a few timeline jumps I got a bit confused at, but was quickly able to adjust and get back into the plot, I just wished there had been a bit more development between those jumps or a warning about the jump to ease the confusion.

Overall I had a great time reading it. The romance is a SLOWWW BURNNN and makes you really yearn for it (it’s worth it when you get there) but there’s also tonnnnsss of action throughout the book to keep you hooked and engaged.

If you’re into urban fantasy & video games I’d definitely recommend giving this one a read

There’s something about this book that made me think of The House of Night (Marked) books that I devoured as an early teen but I can’t quite put my finger on exactly what that is - it’s more of a feeling/vibe I suppose? Also was giving ‘Underworld’ and ‘Matrix’ (for the tech).

There were some aspects that I felt confused about/too vague, and scenes that were a little jarring with transitions, HOWEVER despite that I still had a hard time putting this book down! The story really hooked me in, and I enjoyed the battle scenes a lot.

It’s a vampire book with urban-fantasy vibes, unique technology and magic, and a war between species (mainly werewolves and vampires with a whole lot of mixed-species). The glossary definitely comes in handy.

There’s dual POV with the FMC (Aurora) and MMC (Harbinger), but the book is predominately in the FMCs perspective (minimal chapters from the mmc, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t desperate for more!). The ending left on a cliffhanger that had me ready to jump in to book 2 immediately!

Thank you to The Nerd Fam for the gifted eARC of this book!

This follows our FMC Aurora who is next in line to inherit Dracula’s throne. She has grown up in the Republic but always felt sympathy for the halfbloods who are treated as less than by purebloods and other originals. Her throne was taken from her by a childhood friend that became her enemy, and in order to protect herself and one day take back her throne, she finds herself fleeing the palace to go to the 10th ward.
She joins the Black Guild, an elite team of halfbloods, to fight the monsters that are slowly working to kill off everything and everyone in the republic.
Enter our MMC…Harbinger🤭 he’s the leader of the black guild and a complete mystery who has been on the frontlines fighting stalkers for decades.

This world was very unique and interesting! It gives dystopian vibes with lots of political unrest/intrigue.
The first 2/3 of this did feel a bit slow to me, but it picked up at the end! I think the world building was kind of vague and that made it slower at first, but over all I did enjoy this!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️ /5

“A dead queen serves no one. This isn’t a retreat, it’s strategic withdrawal.”

That ending!! The suspense is killing me and I cannot wait for book 2. I absolutely loved the Transylvanian setting and vibe to this book - it’s what really set it apart from other fantasy books I’ve read. This book had enemies to lovers, SLOW burn (emphasis on the slow), a fierce and determined fmc, a morally grey and broody mmc, action, monsters, betrayal, and magic. It was such a good read and the action picks up almost instantly. I loved the friendships and found family in this book - Aurora’s (our fmc) friendship with Selena was so well done, the banter and dedication between both of them was just 😍. Harbinger, our mmc, oooffffftttt yes! Hot and cold, angry about being attracted to the fmc, broody, and completely swoon worthy 🤭. The book is decently paced and the ending is going to leave you clinging for more - I cannot wait!

“Love, my dear, isn’t always a lightning strike. Sometimes it’s a slow burn that grows stronger with time.”

This book had me captivated from the very beginning! I can't believe this is a debut novel! The world building is rich and unique, filled with Romanian lore. The action is intense and really draws you in. The characters are fantastic, and I absolutely loved the witty banter and found family vibes. The forbidden slow burn between Aurora and Harbinger is electric! I only wish this book was longer because it's just so good! Oh, there's a great glossary and pronunciation guide at the beginning that really helped bring it all together.

Blood Sings by Denisa Mih is a tale dripping in forbidden romance, political intrigue, and an agonizingly amount of slow burn (in the best way possible).

Aurora, the FMC, is such a badass and perfectly executed. She is the embodiment of pose and grace with a fire brewing inside and I was so there for it! Harbinger, the MMC, is a broody mix of fire and ice in the best way possible and his love for his guild is so sweet.

The magic and world are complex but very well executed and the story had me instantly hooked. I haven't dived into a vampire focused book since Twilight (and that made me hate the species) but this book has made me love them again. But kudos to Denisa for showing me that vampires can be fierce and excellently portrayed you have a loyal reader right here!!

Received an E-ARC for an honest review. Holy hell this book was so good! It's been a while since I last read a vampire book I absolutely loved. I loved the political aspects of it and how things were done. This is definitely a sloooooow burn and man it's killing me, but I love the tension between Aurora and Harbinger. I was not ready for the story to end and cannot wait for the next book to come out so I can read what happens next.

I absolutely devoured this book in less than 24 hours! It is ridiculously brilliant and an injection of pure adrenaline and delicious slow burn spice!! If you are in the mood for Underworld vibes, with monsters and magic and epic bloody battles, and a broody mysterious MMC, then this is the book YOU have been waiting for!!

Plot and spice? The plot literally kicks ass. It was fast paced and the battles with the Stalkers were written in such a way that I could imagine each blast of magic, each cut of a blade and I was on the edge of my seat!

I am FERAL for our broody, sexy, mysterious MMC Harbinger! I am 1000% in my ice blonde handsome vampire era!! I also adored the FMC Aurora, who is a dreamer and an idealist, who is soft but also fierce, and who has been mistreated and abused but doesn’t let that destroy her heart. The sloooow burn 🔥 between Aurora and Harbinger drove me CRAZY in the most delicious way. There’s biting and feeding and I’m so here for how hot it is!

World Building? Loads. The book is based in the republic of Transylvania where Dracula is in a deep sleep and the enemy Republic of Russkaya is sending its Stalker monsters to kill all the vampires and half-bloods. Denisa crafts a juxtaposition between the opulent inner wards of Transylvania and the decimated, barren 10th Ward where the battles with the Stalkers and encroaching Gloom take place.

Found family? There is such a brilliant found family. Their banter and jokes are hilarious and provide giggles in amongst the intense battles with the monsters. Selina, Aurora’s bestie, is also my favourite side character. She is loyal and bad ass and smart and vicious 🙌🏼

My favourite tropes in this book that you will also love are:
⛓️‍💥 Forced proximity
🥰 Found family
🖤 Forbidden love
❤️‍🔥 “Mine”
☀️ Grumpy x Sunshine
😍 She falls first / he falls harder
👑 Political intrigue
⚔️ Enemies to lovers

This book is action packed with a unique twist on vampires and a MUST READ for fans of Dracula.

The world-building in Blood Sings is immersive, with the Republic of Transylvania offering a fascinating backdrop filled with tension and a long history of war. Aurora’s struggle to protect her people while dealing with the moral implications of her role is compelling, and the novel explores her growth as a leader who is both willing to fight for justice and deeply aware of the sacrifices that come with power.

I love when you discover debut authors and they write stories that completely blow your expectations out of the water. I am currently on my vampire era train, and this has me going full speed on it still. I didn’t like this story; I loved it.

I could connect with the characters. I like the characters, the ones that matter are all incredibly likable. There is palpable tension between the FMC & MMC, and you know what that always leads to🙂‍↕️

I am so stoked for the next book in this series.
