Humanity has expanded beyond the solar system, now populating four planets. A fledgling galactic republic is just beginning to form. Earth's population has dropped by half and the planet is slowly returning to its former glory.

For centuries, the Niruku Corporation has built humanity's future, sending genetically engineered colonists—"transmigrants"—on generation ships to prepare new worlds for settlement. But the truth is darker than anyone imagined: the colonists are enslaved, their lifespans cut short, their reproduction controlled, their fates erased from history once their work is done.

Kaylie Stewart, a Niruku geneticist, uncovers the corporation’s sinister colonization project and risks everything to escape with Estia, an orphan holding secrets that could shatter Niruku’s corporate empire. Meanwhile, on the planet Tellarius, Ray Decker, a surviving colonist, struggles to expose the truth as his people face extinction.

Hunted and framed for crimes they didn’t commit, Kaylie and Ray’s paths collide in a desperate mission to reveal a conspiracy spanning five centuries. But in their fight for justice, they uncover an even greater threat—one that could alter the future of humanity itself.

The clock is ticking. The truth must be exposed. But at what cost?

"Transmigrant," authored by Stephen B. Anthony, is a thrilling science-fiction novel set in a vivid futuristic world. The story follows Kaylie Stewart and Estia, two compelling characters entangled in a desperate escape from Mars. Kaylie, a researcher at Niruku’s controversial facility, is pushed to the brink of her moral boundaries when she discovers the corporation’s unethical experiments. Estia, a mysterious being raised by Niruku, is now her unlikely ally.

The two are on the run after Kaylie steals something valuable from Niruku, a powerful corporation determined to reclaim it at any cost. Estia’s lack of identity complicates their escape, as Mars’ strict security systems threaten their freedom. Along the way, they cross paths with Ray, the first human to stand on Tellarius, who is also targeted by Niruku. The corporation views Estia as its property and will stop at nothing to capture her, putting all three in grave danger.

As the story unfolds, readers are taken on a high-stakes journey filled with twists, revelations, and suspense. Ray uncovers critical secrets, while Kaylie fights to protect Estia and herself from Niruku’s relentless pursuit.

The novel is a masterful blend of action, emotion, and thought-provoking themes. Anthony’s world-building is exceptional, immersing readers in a richly imagined sci-fi universe. Kaylie and Estia are strong, multidimensional protagonists whose courage and vulnerabilities make them deeply relatable. The pacing is swift, ensuring there’s never a dull moment, and the smooth narration keeps the reader hooked from start to finish.

For fans of science fiction with powerful female leads, Transmigrant is a must-read. It’s a captivating tale of survival, friendship, and the fight for freedom that will leave readers enthralled.

I’m not a fanatic about sci-fi books, but having the opportunity to read different genres, out of my comfort zone, for our book club *Totally Booked* and as a Goodreads winner, has given me a new appreciation for all different styles. “Transmigrant” was a little slow to start and had some jargon that I wasn’t completely crazy about, but as I got further into it, there was a LOT of action and I found myself watching the movie in my head as I read the story. The story line may have been far fetched (for me), but the characters were likable and their interactions were honorable and entertaining! I liked it! 😊

Transmigrant is the kind of sci-fi epic that grabs you by the collar and refuses to let go a bold, high stakes blend of interplanetary intrigue, moral tension, and breathtaking worldbuilding. Stephen B. Anthony crafts a sweeping universe spanning four inhabited worlds, each rendered with stunning clarity and narrative purpose.

What makes the story truly electrifying is its human core. Kaylie Stewart brilliant, determined, and fiercely empathetic anchors the emotional pulse of the book as she uncovers the horrors behind Niruku’s “progress.” Estia’s mystery, Ray Decker’s grit, and the grim truth behind the transmigrant program add layers of urgency that make the pages practically turn themselves.

The conspiracy feels vast, chilling, and alarmingly plausible, while the unfolding revelations carry the narrative into explosive territory. It’s cinematic, tense, and deeply affecting exactly the kind of sci-fi readers crave.

I do not typically enjoy sci-fi. This book takes sci-fi the genre, and makes it a setting instead. From the moment I started reading I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read what's next in the series!
