3.5 stars for me

I read this book as a BookSirens ARC and this review is based on my reading and completing the book and reflects my honest opinion.

I have read other books by the author and have appreciated her writing.

This is a short, fast-paced, less than an hour's reading novella that introduced me to Tal Bannerman, a Homeland Security agent who finds himself corralled and trapped on a mysterious island deep in the Bermuda Triangle by an arch enemy who has risen back from the dead. The island, however, is no ordinary paradise. It serves as a fortress for the world's deadliest operatives, and Bannerman is thrust into a high-stakes game orchestrated by a criminal mastermind. With no backup and an array of bizarre rules stacked against him, Bannerman must use his wit, courage, and skill to escape, dismantle a deadly plan, and avert a global catastrophe.

Joslyn Chase delivers a thrilling ride filled with tension, clever humor, and pulse-pounding action. The novella offers a unique blend of adventure and suspense, with echoes of Bond level spy escapades with subtle comedic elements. Bannerman comes across as a likable protagonist, relying on sharp intellect and quick thinking to navigate this treacherous situation. While the story doesn’t delve deeply into character development or world-building, the novella’s tight pacing keeps it exciting from start to finish.

This is a brisk, entertaining thriller perfect for fans of high-stakes adventures with a comic twist.

This was a reasonable ‘James Bond’ style thriller. Very short and easy to read.

Bridget, Hal’s wife was looking forward to a much deserved holiday, where they could both relax, take in the sunshine and enjoy being a couple. Her hopes and excitement was dashed pretty quickly though!

Hal has an assignment to get through. One which is dangerous, one which requires his experience in these matters, before it’s too late. He just hoped that this plan would work, then hopefully, he and Bridget could at long last enjoy that well deserved holiday. If on the other hand the plan fails…..

I received this advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

If you are looking for a quick, exciting read to fill in a spare couple of hours. This is worth the read.

The Bermuda Triangle Blueprint Exchange reminded me why I'm not a big fan of short stories. About the time I got engaged and interested in the characters and the story, it was over. Which is a compliment for Ms. Chase. She created an excellent cast of characters and I enjoyed the story. I just wish there had been more of it. I enjoy all of Ms. Chase's work and look forward to the next full-length novel I get a chance to enjoy. I received a review copy from the author via BookSirens and this review reflects my honest and voluntary opinion.

This was the first time reading this author. The actual story is really quick paced and short. This story would be really good if it was made into a series. A couple is abducted on their romantic vaca and brought to a remote location. Read to find out what happens.

Rumour has it that planes and ships in the Bermuda triangle can mysteriously disappear
But for Tal Bannerman to take his wife (plus an equally mysterious Mrs. Bannerman) to an island in that area means simply that there is a lot more going on than ever guessed at.
Till in the end a ship indeed does disappear...in a big explosion.
I wrote the above with a big smile on my face solely because life sometimes is precious...as author Joslyn Chase pursued here in this novela, Bermuda Triangle Blueprint exchange.
Enjoy
