Lim’s old crew is desperate to see their friend again. But they weren’t expecting the stubborn and conniving fae who looks out from her eyes. She’s had a painless life of luxury and more than twenty years free from the knowledge and obligations of her past.
Or has she?
Friends and lovers will be tested and secrets will be revealed in the thrilling final installment of the Chronicles of Lim.
This is the last book in a romantic fantasy trilogy. Tropes in the series include friends to lovers, frenemies to lovers, only one horse, fated mates, found family, games and trials, wyverns and other magical creatures, recovered memories, and reincarnation.
L.M. Dodds writes fantasy where you can fall in love, lead a rebellion, and get away with murder. She’s the author of Drahma City and The Chronicles of Lim, series filled with morally gray heroes, deliciously wicked villains, and questions that linger long after the last page — about power, love, and what you’d sacrifice to get what you want.
When she’s not writing (or embarrassing herself on TikTok), she’s at home in Virginia with her husband, two rambunctious boys, a loyal hound, and a house full of unfinished projects.

That's it I'm crying. I literally cannot. If you remember how the previous book in the trilogy ended , you KNOW how much we NEEDED that sequel. As always, this trilogy is truly the best romantasy of the year for me. We follow this diverse cast of characters that are all so real and full, and seeing them grow, fall in love, find each others again, fight... I care about all of them so much I'm not going to lie, I teared up seeing Lim's sibs all grown up and I GASPED at the epilogue.
I cannot recommend this trilogy enough. *slams credit card on the table* I want 20 more books about my babies !!! And of course,

I received a free advance review copy (ARC) of this book. It was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it did not disappoint!!! As you can always expect from this series, you get lots of twists and turns in this book as you are immediately immersed back into the intricate and interesting world and magic system. I do recommend reading this series in quick succession, because there is a lot to remember between all of the worlds and characters and magical abilities. We also get to see creative games and trials and I love a good “games and trials” story, so this was right up my alley. All in all, this was an emotional conclusion to an exciting and action-packed series, and while this was a satisfying end to Lim’s story, I’m sad that this is the last we’ll see of Lim and her found family. I do hope the author considers a spin off series, as the world and magic system would form the perfect basis for future stories!
