A snowy reunion. A long-held secret. One kiss that changes everything.
Amelie arrives in Old Quebec for a conference, not expecting to collide—literally—with Etienne, the one friend she never quite got over. Etienne is at a crossroads, trading private practice for a more meaningful path. He didn’t expect the conference and Winter Carnival to bring back more than memories. A missed connection and years of silence threaten to unravel the fragile thread pulling them back together. As snowflakes fall and the city glows with Carnival magic, they must protect their hearts and walk away again… or take a leap toward the love they never dared to claim.
Full of nostalgic charm, witty banter, and emotional honesty, the novella follows Amelie and Etienne as they reconnect years after law school. With no-spice intimacy and a powerful emotional journey.
For Clean Romance This sweet & cozy second-chance romance takes place during Quebec's Winter Carnival, a snow-kissed city full of magic and memories, offering all the feels without any spice and no swearing.
Tina, a Canadian author, draws inspiration from her travels, revisiting places she’s been to in her novels and integrating places she dreams of visiting, sparking a sense of adventure and curiosity in her readers.
She loves Happily Ever After stories with all the fluff but aims to write stories and characters with a sense of realism.
I adored this short, sweet read. I think a large part of that was I was familiar with the Canadian City, the events. Winter Carnival in Old Quebec, Bonhomme, Chateau Frontenac, Valcartier, the foniculaire. There was even a Canadianism or two in there that just added to the nostalgic feel of home in this book. Which well is a good tie to the actual feelings in this book. Amelie and Etienne went to university together. They were very close friends. However, their relationship was always a wrong time kinda thing. This was the sweetest second chance. There was some minor miscommunication trope in there, but it all worked out sweetly in a HEA.
Grab your coziest of blankets and your beverage of choice and get ready to be transported to our beautiful Country called Canada. You will feel as though you are witnessing winter carnival in Quebec City minus the mittens, touque ( winter hat) and frost bite. Snow- Whispered Memories is the first book in the Whispers of the Heart series, and I can not wait for the next installment, because this one was so perfectly written . It's a romantic love story that is just in time for Valentines day. Another thing I really loved about this book is, you don't have to clutch your pearls in shock with any sex scenes , sorry for those of you who crave a lot of spice, this is the most mild "salsa" so no need for a cold shower and a cigarette. Tina Cyr belted this beauty straight from the heart, and right out of the ball field, it is a home run baby. I wish I could rate higher than 5 stars, because this little gem is worth a million.
Rating System (as of 9/19/2024): 1 Star: It was a struggle to read. I almost DNF 2 Star: This could have been so much better. 3 Star: Average 4 Star: Good book. I will probably reread it. 5 Star: I absolutely loved this book. “You got me all up in my feels.”

Review: This was such a good novella/book. It is well written and makes you want to cheer for this couple to get it together. You are taken through each of their emotions, and you come out on the other side celebrating with them.
This is a nice second chance romance between 2 people who went to school together than went different ways. They meet again at a conference which Amelie is attending and Etienne is presenting in place of his sick friend. They hit it off right away, but then a series of miscommunications has them both second guessing themselves. Both characters are a little insecure, although that didn't stop either of them from having live in relationships before. I'm happy it was closed door, but it really wasn't necessary to lead up to their spending the night together. In fact, I felt they should have moved more slowly considering how they had each been jumping from relationship to relationship before getting back together. The descriptions are great and make you feel like you are there. I received a copy of the book and this is my honest review.
This was the perfect cozy read! I read while my kids played out in the snow, and I didn't realize how perfect this was for a snowy day. The snow added a hole extra element it really helped me feel like I was in Canada with them. What a dream to be at a carnival in the winter time. I love a good best friends become lovers because I am with my best friend and I feel like that is just the best type of love. I am to naturally go to them through it all: the bad the good. Happy sad I mean everything. Not everyone gets to experience a love like that. I just enjoyed this little quick read it was a nice escape while my kids played in the snow. Just a good old cozy second chance romance. With a happy ending. There was some Miscommunication going on but hey what's a book without a little hiccup.
This is a new author to me and I really enjoyed this charming short story. It is about two former college friends that lost contact with each other for a number of years. When they both end up at the same hotel for a convention, the attraction was immediate. Both had just come out of long-term relationships that had not worked out and they were looking for that forever someone. I enjoyed the attention to detail about the quaint Canadian town they were visiting. I enjoyed the storyline, but I felt like there were a few times it was a little bogged down. I also was happy that it was a closed door romance, but I thought it was unnecessary for them to spend the night together. If you’re looking for a cozy afternoon getaway read, it might be just perfect for you.
Reading this book felt like a nice cozy winter evening sitting by the fireplace. It was a very quick and easy read. There is one "spicer" scene in the book, but it is closed door. The story is about 110 pages, so if you're looking for a quick read that'll leave you feeling warm and fuzzy, this is definitely one to check out!
My main reason for taking away a star was because of the writing. It got a little too wordy at some points and took me out of the story. However, the plot and emotions are still well written and kept my interest in Amelie and Etienne's history and future.
I love Etienne and Amelie’s relationship. Two college students who lost contact accidentally bump into each other whilst in town for a conference & realise just how in love they actually are. You can feel their chemistry through the book. No spice, just a very sweet, cosy read - the perfect winter book!
This is my first book by this author, and I will definitely be reading more! I loved this book so much!
I did receive a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
I've had the great pleasure of reading this book, tucked up on mu sofa under a warm blanket as a few feet of snow landed in my own garden yesterday and today. It's another fantastic book by Tina that manages to speak to your heart whilst tugging on your own insecurities, all of which only help you identify more with the lead characters and root for them hoping they'll pull themselves together enough to make it together! Can't wait for the next instalment Tina❤️
An amazing book about memories that bring you closer to each other. Such a pleasant and endearing story about paths crossing and bringing back everything that was never forged. A good example of meeting the right people at the wrong time, letting it flow, with the help of winter's magic, until it's noticeable that you are the right people and it's the right time. A very slow burn that shows communication is key. Well written and I recommend it.
This was a sweet romance about two hightschool friend that fell out of touch over the years. Years later, when they finally reconnect, they realized the missed opportunities for them that could've been. The story is heartwarming and the characters are dell developed. Though, I did wish there was a little more going on in the storyline. Some parts of the story just seems to drag out to me. The story itself is sweet and is a great palate cleaner to read between stories.
I loved every page of this book. I have never been to Quebec, but these descriptions make me want to visit at Carnival. A second chance for Etienne and Amelie starts with a chance meeting and memories returning. Can they speak from the heart this time around? A delightful story! I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
“Snow-Whispered Memories” felt like curling up by the fire with a warm drink—cozy, heartfelt, and full of winter magic. Amelie and Etienne’s second-chance romance was beautifully slow-burn, and the setting made me feel like I was right there in Quebec City. I loved the emotional depth and the way their past and present intertwined. It’s the perfect feel-good read, especially if you love a sweet, closed-door romance that leaves you smiling. Can’t wait for the next in the series!
Two college friends Amelie and Etienne who lost contact with eachother for years and both happened to attend a conference at the same place which is where they went to college.
I loved how as soon as they ran into eachother it was like no time had passed and they were like instant best friends again.
Amelie definitely over reacted with him not showing up and should of just spoken to him but besides that i liked their connection and wish there was a bit more of them actually together.
Your story, as always, is absolutely captivating. I loved every moment of it. You have such a gift with words, making me feel like I'm right there, living the experience alongside the characters.
The tale of Etienne and Amelie is heartwarming, tender, and truly beautiful. I felt a sense of longing when it ended and sincerely hope there’s more to come from their story.
Another sweet story from Tina Cyr. This one pulls you into rooting for 2nd chances. It also makes you realize how you can have missed opportunities for something great because of insecurities or assumptions. Communication is key regardless of the outcome and you just might get what you're really after...Also, Etienne *swoon*.
This was such a fun book to read. The author took us on a Canadian adventure to the Winter Carnival with a beautiful (clean) love story. I was uncertain how the two characters would come together, which kept me on the edge of my seat. It was magical, and I can’t wait to read more from this talented author.
A novel filled with will they or won't they to keep you guessing. Tina brings you right to carnival like you are there experiencing it with the characters. while at times you get frustrated with characters it makes the ending that much more sweet. Missed opportunities and sweet interactions this book is a must read by a cozy fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa.
This story made me feel like I was actually in Quebec at Carnival! I loved Amelie’s and Etienne’s story...old friends reconnecting and missed connections. It was very easy to relate to the characters and stay engaged in the book. The characters had depth, the storyline flowed nicely, and it truly was heartfelt.
I absolutely love all things cozy and this was the perfect read for me for the same reason. I absolutely loved the characters and could relate to them and feel for them with how beautifully they are written and portrayed by the author. This is a definite recommend if you are looking for something sweet and cozy.
Sweet story that moves quickly. Etienne and Amalie reconnect at a conference in Quebec during carnival. I enjoyed reading about their reminiscences of their time during law school in Quebec. I really got the feeling of being right there with them. Cute second chance story when the timing is right. I received this book from the author and this is my voluntary, honest review.
This was my first read by this author and I enjoyed it a lot! I felt as though I was in the story next to the characters. It felt like I was watching it all past out in front of me! I'm excited to read the next in the series!
I really enjoyed Amelie and Etienne having their second chance. They have changed over the years and navigating through those changes made their journey to love beautiful. I really enjoyed this story, especially with it being based in Quebec.
This is a story in which the characters feel real and their feelings true. The world-building is absolutely stunning, and I could see the city through their eyes.
Amelie was a little childish 😅 But I kinda understand with her past. Etienne was sweet. I absolutely loved their book, loved when they actually talked. I wish it was longer like most novellas. But I absolutely loved it. Another great book by Tina 🥰💚
touching and heart warming Reading Etienne and Amelie´s story was like a warm hug on a cold day, never give up hope that something good will come your way, even if it takes a long, long time.
Sweet and cozy romance that rekindles an old flame. Its story flows and comes down gradually like the snow throughout. Loved the character development and attraction between the characters.
This book felt like a warm hug. It was full of second chances, great friendship, laughs, redemption, and healing. Two very broken people come together and are healed from their wounds left by this world. Their insecurities and issues were so relatable. I was rooting so hard for them to both find what they needed in life. If you’re looking for a book full of redemption and comfy vibes, this is it!
