The Devil's Torment

Rate this book
Days after my sister’s funeral, my parents dropped a bombshell; I’m to marry her fiancé.

Nicholas De Vil was the man I loved in secret for years, the unattainable heir to a dynasty cloaked in power and privilege. But when duty called, he chose my sister, leaving me to the well-worn role of second best once again. Now, with her gone, I’m the substitute bride in an arranged marriage he never wanted.

At first, Nicholas is consumed by a relentless quest to uncover the truth behind my sister’s murder. But as we’re forced to share a life—and a home—I begin to see glimpses of the man I once longed for.

What if I can make him love me? For once, what if I can come first?

As we’re beginning to bridge the gap between us, a devastating revelation threatens to shatter our fragile bond, forcing us to confront the lies, betrayals, and secrets tying us to the past.

Can I finally win his heart and leave the position of “runner-up” behind, or will unearthing the truth cost me everything I’ve ever wanted?

I almost rejoice because it's rare in an organized crime romance to have a not so innocent FMC. I thought I was finally going to read about some sex positivity when it comes to women. Because this topic often focuses on men's experiences only. So I did hope for something good. But nope, this woman had been with two lame men all her life. They sucked so much that they ruined sex for her. Ruined up to the point that she had to fake an orgasm just to get it over with.

And the typical cliché—the MMC, for some reason— found a way to make it enjoyable for her and make her love the act. His ego was bruised when she faked it with him, so he decided to show her that it could be pleasurable. But then again, it all boils down to the fact that he's 10 years older than her and has had enough of his fair share of women. He's so experienced that he knows how to read her body right off the bat. 🥴

I swear, the imbalance is driving me crazy.

So yeah, another book, another skimming session, and ultimately a DNF. This might work for others, though. It's just not for me.

2.5-3⭐️: first 65% was 👎 & the last 35% was 👍🏼

The storyline was good, the execution of said storyline wasn’t great. The writing was on the cringe side, definitely in the dialogue sections, eg. I will burn the world down for you🥴 Readers like those ‘scenes’ NOT the literal words on the page🤦🏽‍♀️

The FMC was volatile in the sense that she was constantly insecure and wishing she was someone’s first choice & when Nicholas does something nice for her then she’s thinking ‘would he have done the same thing if Beth was here’ and her mood changes are a whiplash. Reading her pov gave me negative vibes.

Nicholas’s character on the other hand developed slowly throughout the book & the OTT/J/P traits he had I was eating that shit up!

If you’re reading for the vibes maybe give this book a go🤷🏽‍♀️

Leave it to Tracie Delaney to knock this second book of the De Vil Dynasty out of the park after giving me a mind blowing ending of the Devil’s Pawn (book 1). Spicy Victoria and Grumpy Nicholas were the perfect pair for the second installment of this series. The twists and turns Tracie placed throughout the book was thrilling and captivating. I could not put this book down. I’m craving the next one of this series already so Tracie, if you read this, feel free to give this girl the next one!

The FMC is supposed to be this fiery woman and the MMC an insufferable bastard, yet literally like a switch suddenly they like each other.
She also keeps thinking about her dead sister right before the sex scenes. Big cringe. DNF at 20%.

I absolutely loved this book. I love how both characters seemed tough but were misunderstood and had their own demons. Their relationship was able to grow from there. I also loved how he was possessive but not overbearing. Allowing her to things she wanted and to make a life for herself. Beth coming back to life was not on my list of things that might happen but I always thought that Uncle George was sketchy.

Wow!
I thought book 1 in the series was good but this one was just amazing! I love the twists and revelations that come with this book.

Make sure you read the first book though as the story does follow on and this also sets us up nicely for the next instalment.

It was nice to touch on Alexander and Imogen story and see how they have developed whilst also getting to know Christian a little better.. but Nicholas is definitely my new favourite DeVil. 😈

A must read ❤️

she gave in quickly for someone who hated him, so did he.

she is pathetic she gave her kidney to someone who betrayed her, let her parents use her when they wanted when they never truly loved her, thus allowing people to treat her like she is second best. the way you react indicates what you accept and thus how you are treated. her behavior means she will always be second best.

honesty hoped she died. her parents didn't even see her when she was fighting for her life. truly pathetic character and author.

also the characters had no true connection apart from sex.

Goodness, after starting the second book and not actually reading the first book I thought the dynamics would be off but I was wrong. There were several twists and turns that kept you wanting to read more. The dislike I felt for Elizabeth was UNREAL. Loved the relationship between Nicholas and Victoria.

When I received the ARC copy, I squealed! Nicholas and Victoria are SO HOT together! This book delves into grief, insecurities, and finding love (on both sides). And how the mystery of their mum continues! The shock that came from her mystery was as if a bomb detonated. I cannot wait for Christian’s book next and how Grace is obviously going to ruin him. These De Vil men are destined to be ruined by their women! GO READ IT ONCE IT’S OUT! And make sure to read The Devil’s Pawn first! I’m sure you could read it out of order but the mystery and character development is best to read in order!

Oh, after the last chapter of The Devil's Pawn I couldn't wait to dive into Nic and Vicky's story.
Those two are so good to each other! I absolutely loved how their relationship developed and how Vicky worked through her grief and other issues. And when I thought we are in the clear the punches started to come. Honestly I had my suspicion regarding one of the twists, and I had a triumphant 'Yes, I knew it!' moment. But the other twists had my jaw dropped to the floor. I am intrigued by the over achieving story line!

The least interesting thing about this book was the relationship between Vicky and Nicholas. Vicky is supposed to be this fiery, rebellious woman who Nicholas had no desire to tolerate (thus his reason for choosing her sister Beth). Vicky's biggest rebellion was the incident with Imogen in the previous book. In this book, its as if her spine dissolved. Nicholas is nothing like the insufferable Alexander in the previous book. He accepted his arranged marriage easily, despite it not being to Beth as he had originally intended. I expected a war between the two to rival Alexander and Imogen's. It was insta-lust.

The relationship was disappointing, to say the least. However, there were several other plot threads that made this book interesting. What did Nicholas say to upset Beth? Who was the cab driver? Who is behind the incident? (Yes, I'm vague so as not to spoil completely).

The mystery of the key found in the previous book continues into this book. I find this to be one of the more interesting plots as it unravels.

Christian gets a chapter from his pov and again, he seems like an interesting character...but so did Nicholas in his chapter in Devil's Pawn. Its enough to make me look forward to the next book but more so to see other plots unfold. If I actually enjoy those characters and their relationship, it would be a plus.

** Thank you Tracie Delaney for the ARC **

“The Devil’s Torment” is the second book in the “De Vil Dynasty” series and I knew right away this would be an awesome book! In the first book of the series we see a glimpse of Victoria and how amazing she is. She’s a spitball of fire, opinionated, lively, but her sister’s murder changes some of that. Victoria is sure to blame Nicholas for the murder and while Nicholas is innocent and doing anything, he can to find the person responsible, both can’t avoid throwing daggers at each other.

Victoria was once in love with Nicholas, but now she has second thoughts about her feelings, Nicholas on the other hand, never once thought to look twice at Victoria, he wanted a docile wife, but being with Victoria and how she acts makes his heart swell with pride and with joy.

Victoria is a little different from the first book, she is more raw. She shares a lot of her thoughts about herself never being good enough for her family, always living in the shadows of her sister, whom she adores! The way she talked about herself and the experience she had with s*x was very emotional. Like she felt she wasn’t worth the time or effort to make her happy in bed. I am very happy that we keep having this debate in books about female pleasure because it is something that still needs to be addressed. How many times the woman thinks it’s her fault and gets to be blamed for not having the pleasure we picture in our collective imaginary. It was amazing to witness Nicholas not doing anything too special for her to achieve that pleasure, he just explored her body and made sure to take his time and not rush their intimacy.

Meanwhile, Nicholas is the perfect man to be with Victoria. He is fiercely protective of her and as soon as he realises that Vic is the woman of his dreams, he becomes a softie for her. She challenges him and while he thought he’d hate a wife like that, but as it turns, Nicholas loves to tango with danger. He sees how much she struggles within, with her family and her ambitions, but still keeps fighting to be happy. Nicholas is a really great main character, he really goes all alpha-male on the guys that have either hurt Vic or made her feel less and those scenes are very swoony. Also, I loved that Nicholas fought to communicate and have honesty in their relationship. We could see he’d be very dismissive with Beth but as Vic is also very honest and doesn’t bite back, he allows their relationship to have vulnerabilities and then tries to make all doubts Vic has about her go away.

“The Devil’s Torment” was really an incredible book. It’s always hard to describe why I love books, but there are things we know and sense when reading and I feel like no matter how many words I write, “The Devil’s Torment” needs to be felt. It just touches all the right spots and it’s something very close to a perfect book.

I am soo looking forward the next book because something tells me the next MC and FMC will be a riot and the next FMC does promise to be even more trouble than Vic!

Defying expectations… Unplanned Nature

Nicholas and Victoria story takes you into a journey of how to overcome inner fears, past trauma, grief, loss, and insecurities. Learning to forgive and embrace love as a whole. Both of our protagonists initially dislike each other as a result of a misunderstanding of a well planned deception. Our heroine deals with low self esteem that has been ingrained and deeply rooted from childhood by her neglectful and selfish parents. The feeling of not being good enough, being the second best.. the backup option. Her desire for validation and to forge her own identity a challenge as she’s always been compared to her sister, Beth. When tragedy strikes and Victoria is forced into an arranged marriage to Nicholas whom originally was engaged to her sister Elizabeth, this change open old wounds bringing chaos and turmoil of emotions as she navigates how to deal with the upcoming nuptials and what her life will be like once becoming Mrs DeVil. Our MMC Nicholas is unexpected. His ruthless and dangerous aura only a veil to protect what really lies underneath. A man who deep down yearns for undying love and loyalty. A man who fears to lose another loved one. A man who would move heaven and earth to keep the woman he loves safe. Our morally grey hero deals with abandonment issues followed by the heartbreaking loss of his mother, leaving him scarred and afraid to open his heart in fear of being forsaken yet again. Despite his own struggles, he helps our heroine build her self confidence by focusing on her strengths and positive qualities, he engages her in proper communication to learn more about her needs and fulfill them. His candor was refreshing, a man who values integrity, both in words and actions. Throughout the book he goes above and beyond to not allow Victoria to succumb to her insecurities. He teaches her the proper way to be treated in and out of the bedroom. He becomes her savior and protector, her lover and devoted husband. Once their relationship flourishes, it’s a sight to behold- as beautiful as a flower blooming on the first day of spring. Their passion and chemistry as powerful as an unceasing erupting volcano. The never ending desire to own each other heart, mind, body and soul. What happens when events of the past come crashing down? When painful revelations of previously traumatic events threaten their new happy lives? The emotional torment of the unforeseen twists took me into a path of agony and anguish. My head in a constant distressing state with the change of events with each turn of a page… the ending had my heart racing and on the edge of my seat. Painful truths and uncovering secrets would have the Devil family shaken up. Would their family bond stay strong? Get ready for the rollercoaster of emotions and to lose yourself with book 2 in the DeVil Dynasty. Can’t wait for Christian story and the continuation of the series.

I fucking hate Beth. I know I probably shouldn’t start my review this way considering she’s not a main character, but I hate her so much. I haven’t even finished the book yet, but the more I read, the more I hate Beth. I really wish that Victoria decided to not donate her kidney to Beth. That lying, scheming bitch didn’t deserve Victoria’s kidney.

Okay, I have officially finished the book and I still hate Beth. And I hate Victoria’s parents too. A little affection here and there did not make up for all the favoritism Victoria suffered under growing up. Ugh, again I really wished Victoria didn’t donate her kidney. Also, I fucking called it. Half way through the book, I just knew that Beth must have faked her death. There were no leads or anything and I’ve read my fair share of books where the dead are not actually dead.

Nicholas was such a sweetheart. He’s so perfect. He’s protective and possessive and a guy after my heart. I honestly thought he and Victoria would have more of an enemies to lovers arc but he was a possessive softie the moment they got married. Fine for me. I love him for his possessiveness, especially with the scene with Mathew. Mathew is such a sleaze.

Victoria was annoying at first. I understand that she was grieving but her hatred of Nicholas was so annoying. I’m so glad that it quickly faded once I started getting more into the book. Another annoying thing is how she kept thinking about Beth and how Beth was supposed to be with Nicholas. Granted, most of my annoyance is towards her parents and how they always treated Victoria like she was second best.

Speaking of her parents, I was so happy when Nicholas defended Victoria during the whole kidney thing. And I loved how Victoria was finally able to stand up for herself. Her self-doubt and thoughts of being second best were pretty relatable, so I was really happy to see her growth.

The whole thing with Nicholas’s mom was insane. First off, the way her suicide impacted Nicholas was heartbreaking. And then the discovery of her diary was just mind blowing. I didn’t really the first book of the series, so I don’t know if there was more background on the family drama, but her being raped was one hell of a plot twist. I did not see that coming.

All in all, it was a decent read. I don’t think I’m going to read Imogen and Alexander though. They were fun characters but not interesting enough for me to go back and read their story.

Devoured in a day!

I guess one of the best endorsements I can give is that even though I ARC read this, I have pre-ordered the special edition too!

The Devil’s Torment is book two in The De Vil Dynasties series, which follows on from The Devil’s Pawn. I have been low-key obsessed with Tracie Delaney for a few years, and this is 100% shaping up to be her best series yet.

This was a very anticipated read for me as I fell for both Victoria and Nicholas in book one, especially with how the book ended. I honestly struggled to put this down and was clutching my metaphorical pearls in places as the plot development and twists were gripping and an absolute masterpiece. Just when you think you’re through the emotional roller-coaster, a giant plot twist or two come out of nowhere and slaps the crap out of you.

Our female lead, Victoria, has a massive crush on Nicholas. However, when he was provided with a choice of future arranged wife, he chose Elizabeth (Beth), Victoria’s younger sister. When Beth tragically dies, Victoria’s feelings for Nicholas turn to hate, but the girls’ parents emotionally blackmail Victoria into taking Beth’s place to secure the success of their father’s struggling business.

Victoria believes Nicholas is the cause of Beth’s untimely demise, and after a lot of tension and hate-filled words, Nicholas agrees to allow Victoria to help with the investigation to not only clear his name but also so they can avenge Beth.

Victoria, AKA ‘Half-pint,’ is an outspoken, sassy, and independent woman. However, these traits stem from her deep-rooted insecurities about always feeling second best, especially to her younger sister.

“To subdue a deer is one thing, but to conquer a lioness is quite another.”

When Nicholas falls, he falls hard and becomes the ultimate possessive alpha male. My heart broke for history and childhood experiences that gave him his tortured soul presence throughout the book.

The chemistry between these characters builds nicely throughout the book and stays at its peak for the duration while being tested by their plot twists and intense storylines.

While this is a standalone, I would highly recommend reading book one as there is a continuation of a storyline which connects the De Vil siblings and we learn a bit about Victoria and Nicholas’s history.

I'm at a loss for words—this book had me on an emotional roller coaster from page one, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I was honestly so excited to be back in Oakleigh with the De Vil family for another unforgettable book. I devoured the first book in the De Vil Dynasty, The Devil's Pawn, and this one did not disappoint. It had me hooked from the start. I really didn’t know where Tracie was going to take us, and in my opinion, she knocked it out of the park. I was not expecting that bombshell at the end.

Nicholas and Victoria—where do I start? I absolutely adored these two.

I loved their verbal sparring, but also the tender moments between them that had me ready to cry. They were honestly the sweetest pair, but both of them individually had their troubles. When we first meet Nicholas and Victoria, it’s under a heartbreaking cloud following the death of Victoria’s sister, Beth. But the moment they say "I do," the dynamic between them changes, and we go on a beautiful journey watching them grow and evolve.

Victoria is one fierce FMC with a no-nonsense, snarky attitude. But behind the tough exterior is someone who just wants to be someone’s first choice and be loved. After always living in her little sister Beth’s shadow and being second best in her parents’ eyes, it was so beautiful to see her come into her own.

Nicholas De Vil is officially my new book boyfriend—because that man was EVERYTHING. When we first meet Nicholas, he’s adamant he’ll never love his bride-to-be due to his childhoid trauma. But after they say "I do," he changes, becoming a good husband and everything Victoria— who he nicknamed “half pint”—needs. I just loved him so much.

I can’t thank Tracie enough for allowing me to be part of her ARC team and review this beaut of a book. I’m honestly so grateful that this was my first ARC experience—Tracie is an incredible writer who has created such a welcoming haven for her ARC readers.

In my eyes, this series is absolutely incredible, and I can’t wait to devour the rest of it 💕

Did I devour this in less than 24 hours? Yes, I absolutely did. From the moment I picked this up, I couldn’t put it down.

If there’s one thing to take away from this book, it’s that Alexander De Vil walked so Nicholas De Vil could run. That man is tattooed and fucking pierced, helloo, I’m OBSESSED!! 😭🥵

After how this book was subtly teased at the end of The Devil’s Pawn, I’ve been ridiculously excited to see how Nicholas and Victoria’s story would unfold, because what do you mean your dead’s sister fiancé, listen this did not disappoint!

Like, omg, where do I begin, WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN?! Victoria hates literally hates Nicholas, and blames him for her sister’s tragic death. Nicholas was also her sister’s fiancé, and she’s determined to get to the bottom of how her sister died, holding Nic responsible. Following her sister’s passing, Vic soon finds herself betrothed to Nic, due to an agreement outlined by their fathers.

Lmao, Nic wasn’t joking when he said he’d probably have to sleep with one eye open because Vic would most likely try to kill him in his sleep. 😂 and rightfully so, too! However, before her sister’s death, Victoria was in love with Nicholas, whom she now finds herself married to. Despite their conflicting feelings, they’re both are determined to uncover her sister’s murderer.

This was so angsty and tension filled, I loved it. Honestly, I was holding my breath with every chapter, I didn’t want it to end and I was left wanting more. I just loved them both as individuals, and as a couple they were so addictive. I thought I was obsessed with Alexander, but Nicholas De Vil has officially entered the chat, and the fact he’s tattooed and he’s pierced. I’m so fucking sold.

It was such an intense, indescribable feeling watching these two fight their attraction while also falling for each other, sharing those soft moments as a newly married couple and finding their person in each other. Victoria has always felt second-best to her parents, and like she was living in her sister’s shadow, and now that her sister’s gone, it’s even worse. But Nicholas sees right through her polished facade, and he’s a man determined to break down every one of her walls.

Honestly, I could go on and on about these two all dayy. The way this man pedestal her and continually put her first, in and out of the bedroom; I loved it. When Victoria got sick? My man was literally clutching the wall, heart being ripped out of his chest, like how mine was, because he couldn’t bear the thought of losing her. I ate it up. It was so, so good, there was tears in my eyes lmao.

And the plot twist. The plot fucking twist of this book left my jaw on the floor. And then a plot twist on top of a plot twist? Absolutely incredible work from Tracie. Give this woman her flowers!!!

Christian De Vil. I see you. I cannot wait for you and your marriage next.

Thank you eternally for the e-ARC Tracie, in exchange for an honest review; I’m so grateful.

We meet Nicholas De Vil, second son and soon to be groom in an arranged marriage. When the marriage falls through the father of his Bride, desperate for the marriage to go ahead, in order to save his business, offers another daughter to Nicholas instead.
Victoria has no intention of marrying, much less to a man for who she is second choice. Her father is determined the wedding will take place and Nicholas and Victoria find themselves married to people they loathe.
Nicholas just wanted a wife who would be compliant and be the mother of his children, nothing more. He is incapable of loving anyone after a tragic loss in his childhood left him convinced he wasn't enough. Victoria is everything he didn't want, while broken herself, by people who should have loved her, she is opinionated and sassy and fights him at every turn. He sees the real Victoria behind the sass and finds himself wanting to protect her even if he can't love her. Both find themselves a middle ground that makes them want more.
Together this pair explore feelings they never expected while navigating twists and mysteries that threaten to destroy them.
This is an amazing read. Tracie has dealt with a tragedy from the past with such care and empathy, it took my breath away. The welcome visits from characters from book one and Nicholas's family all add to the mysteries playing out in the background. With each book another twist is unravelled and left me eager for the next book.
This is a must read and may I suggest to enhance the story that you may want to read book one, parts of the storyline will be a little clearer if you do. Either way These two will set your pages on fire, you won't put it down until you finish.

The Devil’s Torment is book two of The De Vil Dynasty and captured my attention right from the start. In book one we met Alexander’s brother Nicholas and his young fiancee Beth. Book two starts with the death of Beth and Nicholas now being arranged to marry her older sister Victoria. Victoria may be one of my favorite book characters. She is a spitfire, vocally opinionated and doesn’t back down to Nicholas and his grumpy behavior. We find out that Nicholas at one time had his choice between the sisters and chose Beth though he knew Victoria was the better choice. He wanted a wife who didn’t have her own voice and cower to his demands, the perfect dutiful wife. During their time together he learns more about Victoria and why she is the way she is. He becomes fiercely protective of his wife especially when it comes to her family and how much they expect from her. The De Vil men have always vowed not to love after the painful loss of their mother and sister but we have watched these men break down their walls and let these amazing women in. These men don’t just love they love passionately and fiercely. I absolutely loved that Nicholas was so willing to open more for Victoria than he ever planned to with Beth. Also there is a huge plot twist in this book that I will leave as a surprise because you will be screaming in your seat as you read it. Victoria for me is the typical eldest daughter. The one who is often responsible for the rest of the family, the loyal one, the independent one, the one who empathizes for others but never yourself. That was Victoria to me and she deserved better from her family but she got what she needed from Nicholas.

Jesus Christ this book was spectacular!!

The tension, the drama, the twists and the plot twist and then another plot twist!

This book was a roller coaster of emotions and half way through the book, I was like, where is the punch line. There was so much left and it was all happy and beautiful and then plot twist after plot twist..

I mean HELLO?!

Nicholas and Victoria are freaking amazing together and there was no doubt in my mind that they belonged together! He showed his love with his actions, even when he didn’t say the words or even realized what he felt and she has been through so much poop and how her parents treated her, with what happened with her sister, to her parents still favoring the sister.. it was so heartbreaking, I can’t even imagine. But I still kinda understand how she felt, being second her whole life and thinking that she was the second choice for Nicholas. But he proved her wrong and showed her that she’s his number one always and I melted, with how he treated her and defended her, protected her from everything and everyone, even her own parents.

I, personally, wouldn’t forgive the parents but that’s just me..

I’m in love with Nicholas, Alexander was freaking amazing, but Nicholas.. this man is by far the most beautiful human being, inside and out. Even when he was anything but, in the first book or the beginning of this one

I’m so enthralled with this series and I can’t wait to read more of this world!!

The Devil's Torment is the 2nd book in The De Vil Dynasty series. You do need to read book 1 first as even though this book is about another sibling there is a story continuing from book 1 through to this. This book is Nicholas De Vil and Victoria Montague story.
Nicholas was to have an arranged marriage to Victoria's younger sister, Beth. After Beth is killed in a car explosion her father decides that Victoria can marry Nicholas instead. Neither want this, Nicholas had a choice and chose Beth as he thought she would be more pliable as she was quieter especially compared to Victoria who is opinionated and independent. And Victoria didn't want to be second best as she had been throughout her life with her family but they do go through with the marriage. As they explore married life together they find themselves experiencing feelings neither were prepared for and uncovering mysteries about the past.

I loved this story, it flowed so well I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters, Victoria is so strong and sassy but underneath she doesn't feel good enough. I loved Nicholas protectiveness and the chemistry between them is amazing. I also enjoyed seeing Alexander and Imogen. I loved the first book in this series, and this one is great too. I thought Alexander was my favourite but Nicholas has taken 1st spot. Can't wait for Christians story next.

He didn’t choose her first... But now, she is his forever.

We pick up right where The Devil’s Pawns leaves off. After her sister's death, Victoria has to take her place and marry her fiancé, Nicholas De Vil. She used to love him in secret, but now, he is the one she hates the most. She feels like a second choice—and she suspects he’s behind her sister’s death. Nicholas doesn’t do love, but what if she can make him fall for her? For once, can she come first?

God, where to start?! God, where to start?! I loved how the books connect, even though they’re considered standalones. I loved Nicholas and Victoria's verbal sparring even if I wish it continue longer. They soft for each other too soon for my taste. Other than that, it is perfect! I loved getting another glimpse into the dark past of the De Vil family. I was surprised by the two plot twists and one of them made me so angry!

I loved Victoria and her outspoken, sassy, and independent personality. However, these traits stem from her deep-rooted insecurities about always feeling second best, especially to her younger sister. It’s clear early on that she’s a better fit for Nicholas. My heart broke again for another De Vil brother with Nicholas’s history and childhood experiences that gave him his tortured soul presence throughout the book. When Nicholas falls, he falls hard and becomes a possessive alpha male. He may have not choose her at first, but no one touch his wife.

PS: I have a whole list of people I would punch in this book.

You will find in this book:
⛓️Possessive Alpha MMC
💍 Arranged Marriage
📅Age Gap (10 years)
😈Touch her and die
😡Hate to Lovers
❤️‍🩹Tortured Hero
💜Morally Gray
💵Billionaire
🌶️spice

Devil’s Torment, the second book in the De Vil Dynasty series, picks up with the sudden, arranged marriage of Nicholas and Victoria after the tragic death of Nicholas' fiancée—and Victoria's sister—Beth. While this book can stand on its own, it’s best enjoyed after reading Devil’s Pawn, as it references some major plotlines from the first installment.

If you’re expecting Nicholas to be anything like his older brother, Alexander, get ready to be surprised. Haunted by the loss of his mother and sister fifteen years ago, Nicholas has vowed never to open his heart again. Yet instead of pushing Victoria away, he treats her with surprising kindness, protectiveness, and care. Though he didn’t originally choose her, he slowly realizes Victoria may have been the right match all along.

Victoria, on the other hand, takes a bit longer to come around. She’s loved Nicholas from afar for years, and being passed over for her younger sister left her feeling second best. Despite her deep love for Beth, Victoria resents the De Vils after her sister’s death and struggles to let go of that pain.

This story is beautifully written, packed with angst, spice, and twists you won’t see coming. It’ll keep you hooked right up to the final page.
