A touching holiday story with themes of healing and Christmas magic

I always look forward to Lily’s unique stories and heartfelt themes, and A Christmas Rescue by the Mountain Man is no exception when it comes to delivering a cozy holiday read. The Christmas setting was beautifully woven into the plot, creating a warm, comforting atmosphere perfect for a quick escape into the mountains.

I particularly loved the emotional depth of the premise—Carrie’s heartbreaking journey of coming to terms with infertility paired with Logan’s grief and fear surrounding pregnancy after losing his wife. It was a thoughtful foundation that had so much potential for a deeply moving love story.

While I enjoyed the overall story and the holiday charm, I felt the character development could have been more robust. Both Carrie and Logan had incredible backstories, but I wish we’d spent more time exploring their emotional healing and growth. Additionally, the spicy scenes, while well-written, felt a bit out of place given the heavier themes. I found myself craving more emotional connection between the characters, which would have made their journey even more impactful.

That said, Lily still delivered a heartwarming and festive short read that left me with a smile. While this wasn’t my favorite of her stories, I admire her ability to tackle meaningful subjects with sensitivity and creativity.

This is book two in the Ozark Mountain Men Christmas series and can be read as a standalone. Carrie is not enjoying her family Christmas break on Red Oak Mountain. She’s left behind on a snowy trail and then loses her hat and finds herself on an isolated ledge after trying to retrieve it. When she’s finally reported missing, Logan volunteers as part of the search and rescue team and finds her on the ledge. They both feel an instant attraction and a longing to be together. Both have vulnerabilities around family life which have had a profound effect on them and this sets this story apart from others as you feel their pain and internal struggles. Recommended for readers looking for a short, very steamy read with complex characters and thought-provoking back stories.

She is visiting the mountain for Christmas with her family when she gets lost in the woods. He is local and pitches in for the search and rescue. When he finds her in the woods, they share a kiss and he knows he wants that to happen again. They are drawn together and each have secrets they are nervous to share,but they can't stay away. This is a cute little holiday story. There are some really fun elements, her special "gift", the Mrs. Claus outfit etc, but the flow was a little choppy and there were some conversations and scenarios that were a little cringy for me. It was quick, and sweet but nothing that really hooked me.

One more book in Ozark Mountain Men Christmas series. Love Lily Birch spicy short reads. And this keeps the bar high.
Carrie is invisible in her family. And is lonely without a support from them. But Christmas time at Silver Pine Lodge has potential to change everything for good.
During hiking with her ignoring family, she violates all "Outdoor Survival Safety Tips" and (not surprise!) gets involved in accident with tree, slipping of the trail and injured. And (surprise!) her rescuer is the most handsome man she ever has seen.
And Christmas surprises can give them what they had missing.
Loved this instalove romance - sweet, short and steamy, nice characters and nice story line.

A really good Ozark mountain man romance. Carrie is a lonely woman who feels she doesn't fit in her family of over achievers and lags behind on a family holiday hiking. Due to a series of mishaps she ends up on a ledge down a cliff without her family knowing. Logan is a tree trimmer who lives with his daughter on the mountain and answers the call to find a missing hiker. Their HEA is entertaining and a page-turner.

Another awesome short story from Red Oak Mountain. Christmas magic and love are in the air.

Carrie has always felt like the odd, unseen duck in her family; unmarried, no children, and a job instead of a career. While hiking with her family, she falls; and no one notices until they reach the trail head. Search and rescue are called out.
Logan helps search and rescue in his off months. As soon as he sees Carrie's picture, he knows she's special a d he has to be the one to find her.

Girl needs rescue from mountain hike gone wrong, emotionally damaged guy who rescues her convinces her that Christmas is amazing with popcorn tinsel and kitchen counter action, and single digit kid is wise far beyond her years.

A romantic tale of being rescued by a mountain man god and falling in love with him at first glance. Add in some dating tips from a precocious 8 year old, some icy peppermint lube and melted chocolate and you've got a steamy version of a Hallmark movie.

This Is an entertaining mountain man holiday romance, book that holds your attention captive from beginning to end. The storyline is intriguing as the elements unfold. The characters are well written with steamy chemistry together. I enjoyed this book.

Part of the Ozark Mountain Men Christmas, Logan Miller Carrie Hines and Carrie Hines meet when he rescues her. he also has a eight-year-old daughter Cassidy. A well written short Christmas story that I enjoyed reading.

I love Lily Birch books and this was my first novela read by her. It did NOT disappoint. I love the main characters Carrie and Logan and how their relationship quickly developed. the happy ending was great! can't wait to read more in this series!
