I cannot really say too much about the book, as I am the author. I am a bit proud to have finished the book, and that I have been able to get the story in a way I had pictured it. The story is not entirely fictional, as it is based on my own experiences, and those I wanted to share.

I got this because I thought it would be sapphic - and it is. It's a unicorn romance, written from the perspective of the unicorn. The FL seems to be attracted to both halves of the couple equally.
The writing is kinda robotic. Things just keep happening, but it feels kinda disjointed - it doesn't have a smooth flow to it. The author was born and raised in Copenhagen, so I wonder if English was her second language? Some of the word choices are odd to me like cloths instead of clothes. The style has a sort of European quality to it. It's very blunt and to the point, it doesn't waste time dancing around in pleasantries. That being said, it does have some of the classic pitfalls of newer writers. It's overly detailed in ways it doesn't need to be like telling us the exact cost of the taxi ride.
The way the FL is described isn't to my preference. She's obsessed with being sexy but seems to be caught off-guard by it's realities. The main character is named after the author and she says it's based on her own life experiences. I don't enjoy author self-inserts or other (real life) people's sex lives. I prefer for my spice to be purely fictional - especially since this is BDSM. At the end of the second chapter, Viggi is in the couple's home for her work as their interior designer and the female half of the couple steps out of the restroom with nothing but a tight white t-shirt (no bra) and panties. Being aware of it's foundation in reality makes me concerned about the sexual harassment charges rather than being excited. It's just really not my cup of tea.
I dropped it early on. I realized that this is not going to be something I enjoy very much for the reasons outlined above. It's not bad, but it's really not to my preference.

My first book of Viggi Johansen, and it is her debut novel.
I enjoyed reading it, her openness is charming and very interesting to read how she grew herself as a person. True self discovery in words.

This is a semi autobiographical novel about this author and her sex life. If you like sex scenes right out the gate with a lot of sex talk in between this is a book for you.

Plot:
Adventurous design is about BDSM, trust, being honest with yourself about who you are.
I do like the book it was good and hit several key factors and points from the BDSM world. The one thing that I don't agree with is the fact that in the book Viggi, Kristen, and Peder didn't go over boundaries, rules, hard limits, and what it means to actually use a safe word.
I understand that Viggi had a small introduction to the BDSM world as a teenager but even then no true boundaries were discussed and what she is willing to try and not try.
With BDSM you have to fully trust your partner/partners. You have to openly discuss your hard limits, what you are willing to try and not try, during a scene your dominant partner should also be checking in on you, then you have after care with your dominant and other partners. Also I dont believe if you play with someone you think your falling in love when you have only been in two scenes with them. It more like lust, common ground, and understanding. That is why I like after care the most because to me Kristen failed Viggi in that regard of the book. That is why I am giving this book 3 stars.

Impressed by the writing style and that the author has written a quite personal novel. I could feel with her and the descriptions in the adult club are very captivating. A special relationship between her and her Mistress, but also interesting to look at her early steps into a lesbian, submissive relationship. Very personal views are shared in the book.
