3.5 stars for me.
I was excited to read this story after reading the blurb but if lacked the connection, the timeline is either missing or it’s off, then the repeating of what happened is repeated into something different, example… ‘the line goes dead & I toss the phone on the table, my frustration boiling over… next paragraph started the same way but after, the phone on the table, the anger simmering, just to name one example.
I felt like someone was missing, was this supposed to be read afterwards of the last story? Who’s Isabelle and what caused her to be formal best friend of Elana? Who’s Marco, is he Dom’s second in command, capo, solider? Idk but the way he talked to Dom would put his life at risk.
Italic font I can see if they are ‘talking’ in their head but why is it when Dom and Elana are about to have their naughty times? That also throw me off, unless this is Pipers Ravens’ style of writing, this is my first from this author so I’m not sure, but I never encountered that before.

I was intrigued by the cover of the book and had to find out more. The cover model is gorgeous and has an intensity about him. Just like Dominic did in the book. The story is based in Miami and is about two Mafia families vying for control: the Castellano’s and the Romano’s, and Elena is the pawn between them. Dominic Castellano (MMC) is the older brother of Elena Romano’s (FMC) former best friend. Dominic is determined to destroy Elena’s father and will use Elena as part of his plot of revenge. Although Elena knows that Dominic is dangerous, she can’t help but be drawn to him. Elena is naïve and vulnerable, having always been protected from her family’s business. Dominic is drawn to that vulnerability. So, Dominic kidnaps her and forces her to marry him.

The book was written with an intriguing plot that was well-paced. I thought the author did a good job with character development and world-building. The plot was exciting, the sex scenes spicy, and lots of twists to keep me on my toes. Another enjoyable book by Piper Raven!

Dominic plays the long game. His strategies cover every eventuality. People are just pieces on his chess board; he moves and places them to his advantage. Elena Ramano is one of those pieces. She is going to help him take down her father and brother Matteo. Marco, his second in command, helps him put them in place.

To Dominic, it is all about control but when he meets Elena and brings her onto the board, the board shifts and Elena makes him lose his power. She gets under his skin and into his head, making him feel things he shouldn't, meaning his play has to change.

Elena is caught up in revenge, deceit, treachery and power plays among the men. She didn't think she'd fall for her kidnapper though. Dominic says he will protect her but who is she in more danger from? Can she trust him fully? But as the power play plays out, Elena becomes stronger. She is not some wilting flower, her family thinks she is. She proves she is someone who can be by Dominic's side and not behind him.

Elena feels confused, intrigued and scared when around him. Dominic is playing a game with Elena to get to her father, he just didn't expect her getting to him.

What will happen in the arranged marriage? Will it become a real marriage? How does he feel about Elena and the baby? Will he protect her even if he has no feelings for her? What is her brother Matteo going to do to Dominic? To Elena? Wil her hurt his own sister? Let's finish reading to find out!

Lies, deception and betrayal bring together a mafia don and a painter, one was looking for revenge and the other was trying to get away from her family's dealings but soon the two met and by the end they fell in love.
Throughout this story the couple find out that the only ones they can trust is each other. The couple navigate their world together even through the loss of people and finding out that they have both been played by the same person for years.
At the end the couple stay strong as they go to battle together against their enemy. They find out that the family they build together is all that they need to be happy and the couple winds up loving one another, they can’t wait for their future with one another.
A great story with amazing characters and it’s also a page turner. The story has a good happily ever after ending.

Their journey starts as a power play but turns into more. Loved Dominic. Hes an intense powerful possessive protective passionate dark and dangerous alph male that will hurt anyone that touches her. theres tension, intrigue, suspense, asction, betrayal, kidnapping, chaos, family drama and passion. Couldnt put it down. Love how Piper Raven weaves all the mafia chaos into a romantic journey.

Elena finds herself part of an elaborate plot that was designed to bring down her father and the man she loves orchestrated by her very own brother. When the dust clears and everything comes out no one is left undeterred. This story is filled with shock and betrayal and had me guessing all the way throughout this story. It is a thrilling read that is packed with action and dynamic characters that kept me glued to the pages.

Outstanding story.. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. When they meet each other the sparks had ignited between them and it was spicy hot. They couldn’t fight the temptation any longer . Lifes and danger as well chaos was on the rises of madness.

Elena is the daughter of a magnificent a din. She is attending a function she does not want to be at. In walks Dominic another prominent Don. He talks with some people then walks over to me. He is a beautiful man. Tall, dark and very handsome We talk and he tells me we will meet again. When I confront my father and tell him Dominic and I talked he tells me to ignore him.
Dominic kidnaps me telling me he wants to protect me from my brother who is plotting behind my father’s back to overthrow him.
This is a most read book. Great writing and characters.

Repetitive through and through

Pros: Great storyline that was built up and became nothing but an ok book.
Cons: So much repeating things like: “ this is the downfall, his ego is his fall etc “ over and over.
Elena had no growth throughout the entire book. Her and Dominic didn’t share any meaningful conversations unless you can say their intimate sessions where they repeatedly say the same things a conversation. Do not know how she fell for him when the only connection was in the bedroom. Glad it’s over!

This is a great book. Dominic tries to use Elena for revenge against her father for what he did to his family. Elena has been sheltered all of her life from the family business and she doesn't understand a lot of what is going on, but she knows that she isn't being told everything from her father and brother. There are some twists that happen, and you find out that there is betrayal going on in the ranks. If you love a good mafia romance, then you should read this one it is really good.

I enjoyed the story of Elena and Dominic. His plan was to use her in his revenge attempt on her father, for what her father did to his family. Elena doesn't get it because she was raised very protective and her brother and father shielded her and kept her apart from the family business and what they do as a mafia. There are many twists and turns, secrets, and danger, and plenty of romance.

Again books could use a good editor. I’m going to finish the books in this series, but am quite frankly disappointed with the repetition of scenes, and repetition of wording.
I need you to trust me… I can’t trust you….please trust me..
Matteo is making his move, gather the men was repeated over and over.
This finishes tonight!! But did it???
And who is Isabella?
Promising idea, but just falls apart.

Mafia families fighting for control. Domenic was only going to use her for revenge. Elena was the good daughter that was kept in the dark about the actual dealings of her family. So many secrets and twist and turns are revealed throughout this story.

Pretty good mafia romance. Dominic and Elena are an interesting couple. Dominic has a plan and he isnt easily swayed from his goal. Elena starts to burrow under his skin.

Pretty good but had a few questions left at the end mostly about characters and if we will learn more about them.

I have read as many of her books as I can and have loved them all. This one just wasn't up to her normal excellence. Too much mental dialogue with them both thinking the same things repeatedly. But I still highly recommend this author.

I wouldn’t even know where to begin to write a book but this book dragged for me. What did Elena’s father do to Dominic? It’s probably jaded ole me, but this was not a good read for me. What mafia husband would let his pregnant wife go into a fire fight?
