Renegades in Time

Rate this book
Journey to a medieval alternate universe in the next installment of the After Cilmeri series!

September 1297. David and Lili have returned to the medieval world with supplies, scientists from the Bangor Institute, a Mossad spy, and four mercenaries from Zeeland who hijacked their helicopter in an attempt to change the course of Earth Two’s history. If the beginning of his latest adventure in the modern world was unexpected, the ending was even more so.

Now, David has yet another collection of wayward twenty-first century people to deal with, ones he definitely would have preferred had stayed at home.

And, even worse, it isn’t only the modern Zeelanders causing trouble …

Renegades in Time picks up immediately after the events of the previous book, Legacy of Time.

An enjoyable read. Glad to be able to read this one almost immediately after book 18, as the story in this book 19 is a direct continuation.
This is both nice, but also a bit annoying if you have to wait too long.

The Zeelanders as the enemy still is a bit weird for me as a Dutch person. Frieslanders would have been more believable, but they are too far away from France to work with the story.

Incredibly small things to be annoyed about: Temple on the Paris métro is not on line M3. It is on line 3, or linge 3, but not M3. The M is only a marker for it being the metro, but it is not used in the way the author thinks it is. Unfortunate result of insufficient research.

I had a little bit of trouble getting into this book as it had been a while since I had read the previous book in the series and was unsure as to what was happening. However, Sarah Woodbury, as usual, gave a brief recap of the previous book in the beginning of this one. Even though that did help me understand what was going on, I still had some difficulty getting into this book in the series.

I think some of the reason was that there were so many characters in this book and each chapter changed characters. I know there was a logical reason for doing this as the action changed from chapter to chapter and character to character.

I enjoyed the book; but, to me, there was too much descriptive action wrapped around the Zeelanders and the attack on King Philippe and his castle(s). Not enough was written about David and his family and close friends.

Very interested and wondering what Sarah will write about in the next book.

An exciting read! King David is back in Medieval Wales along with the helicopter and the four Zeelanders. He imprisons them I a tent and posts a guard. Unfortunately, John Primus, Johnny, decides to free them and take the helicopter to Flanders and his Uncle Guy, the Count of Flanders. John Secondus, Zee, goes, too. Once the escape and theft are discovered, David sends Christopher, Isabelle, Robbie and Sam (21ster from the Bangor Institute) to Paris to meet up with his Aunt and Uncle, Elisa and Ted. David sends Hywel, Thomas Hartley and Henri (Templars) and Ari (21ster Mossad agent) to Bruges. The events and excitement go from there. Kudos to Sarah!

Love this series beyond measure 💙✨

I can't get enough of this series. I get excited for the release of each and every new book. The characters feel like old friends, and I'm totally here for the adrenaline rush, twists and turns, action, adventure, intrigue and more within each and every page. Trust me it's well worth diving into this exciting series! Be warned though, they're not stand alone reads. You will be lost if you pick one up at random. Take a chance on this unique take on time travel/alternate worlds. I have re-read my collection more than a few times awaiting the newest in the series 😉. Enjoy!

awesome adventures and ethical discussions!

Why wage war when it costs so much in lives and damage and finances? Whether in the medieval world or the modern world, the question is worth debate. This story has wonderful characters who encounter multiple adventures and obstacles. I love the clever way. The culture clashes between medieval world and modern world are part of the story. If you haven’t started the series, you need to go get the first book now!

As always, I didn’t want to leave the world of Earth Two. Looking forward to next installment.

Sometimes books that have many POVs can be exhausting or annoying, but Sarah Woodbury doesn’t lose my attention at all. Such a rich world of characters! Really enjoyed Huw and others getting the time to step forward.

Fantastic!

It was so entertaining to be back with David and crew. This adventure was a nail biter for sure. Nice to see other members taking a lead with David the mastermind setting them on a course.
Only problem, I couldn't put the book down and finished way too soon. I now have to wait for the next book. Any way I can help, Sarah, to aid in your writing it asap!??

Next please!

Not quite as good as her previous books in the series. I think for me it’s because there’s not enough of David and Lilli and Llewellyn and Meg have all but disappeared except on occasion. But, with that being said, still a good book and I will ANXIOUSLY awaite the next book in the series.

Another winner!

I can’t wait to see what Sarah Woodbury comes up with next!

This book picks up immediately after Legacy. New characters from Avalon have a major role, as do some old favorites: Robbie, Huw, Henri, Thomas, plus Christoper and Isabelle, Ted and Elisa. Action-packed, fast-paced, following another bit of history and taking it in an alternative direction.

Loved it!

This series continues to be so satisfying. The clash of the two time periods provides good entertainment even when it's violent and/or malicious.

Don't ever read these books out of order or start in the middle. Begin at the beginning because it's crucial to understanding any of the story.

good

I think of the months and months of hard work Sarah Woodbury puts into a story and I devour it in two days. Now I wait to hear what happens next.

David must prevent those from Avalon from bringing their conflicts to Earth 2. And there are some new characters I hope to see more of.
