Ember Wildes couldn’t wait to start her new life in Salem. Magic has always run deep with the women in her family. After the death of her mother, it was time to start a new life and learn more about the craft her grandmother had taught her. She longed to connect with her roots, especially her ancestor Sarah Wildes, who was executed during the Salem Witch Trials of 1692.

After settling into town, Ember learns of a string of horrible murders, leaving bodies of young women strewn along the dark waters of Salem’s shore. Not knowing who to trust, Ember must unlock the magic in her bloodline and discover the power she holds to end the darkness that has once again plagued Salem.

This is the perfect read for spooky season! The characters are beautifully written, and it kept me in suspense. I curled up with a cup of tea and a cozy blanket, and was transported to Salem Massachusetts to a world full of magic and murder. A Murder of Crows needs to be included in every boo basket this year!

Mia Moon delivers with her first novel. There's love, magic and of course crows. She was able to capture Salem and draw the reader in. Her writing style was descriptive and drew me instantly into the story. The dedication page was beautifully written and inspiring. I can't wait for a second book.

Outstanding book. Ember is a fascinating character who enters Salem to discover her past and is dropped into a murder mystery. She leans into remembering her grandmother teachings and discovers a world of magic. That magic brings new friends into her life and some of them are not what they seem. There are so many great twists and turns. Mia has definitely captured the essence of magic, mystery and romance. The ending was quite a ride. A ride that has to absolutely have a sequel. The perfect book for spooky season.

A Murder of Crows is the perfect spooky season book. Moon captures mystery, romance, murder and the delightful sensations of the town of Salem.

The author is a talented storyteller making this book one of those that "one more chapter" turns into two, three and the book is over and it leaves you hoping she's going to write more.

In A MURDER OF CROWS, author Mia Moon makes a delightful debut, spinning a witchy tale of magic and romance.

Ember Wildes is a new arrival in Salem, Mass. She’s part of a long line of witches, but she doesn’t know much about this heritage. She’s just looking for a fresh start in a new city. But Salem has its secrets, including the disappearance of several young women. Police Detective Thomas Cole is on the case. But despite his dogged efforts to end the killings, he’s coming up empty.

Circumstances bring Ember and Thomas together and sparks fly! But they can’t enjoy each other’s company for long. The evil supernatural forces behind the killing spree are targeting a certain new arrival in town and her police detective boyfriend. And did I mention that Ember has a crow named Shadow as a pet/familiar? And that he’s an important part of the story?

It all adds up to a fun, page-turning romantasy story. Moon does a nice job with the pacing. The book never feels slow, but we also have room to get to know the main characters. I look forward to seeing what she does next!
