Explode the Code, Book 2 (2nd Edition)
Explode the Code Book 2 introduces students to the sounds of initial and final consonant blends and is ideal for students in grades 1-3. Skills addressed through a variety of encoding, decoding, and writing exercises include initial blends (bl, cl, fl, gl, sk, sl, pl, cr, dr, gr, br, fr, pr, tr, sm, sn, sp, st, sw, tw) and ending blends (mp, sk, st, fr, lt, nt, lf, lp, nd, nk). Students also practice blending sounds to read and write one-syllable words. Two review lessons are included along with a posttest. Reinforcement and extra practice is available in “half workbooks” that correspond with workbooks 1-6!
