Mont Blanc Rescue Book 10 in a A wounded protector heroA blind woman who’s the opposite of helplessShe’s pregnant and he stands up for both her and her babyAction galore out in the mountains
Still recovering from a gunshot wound to the back, Hugo Morant is lucky to be back at work with the Mont Blanc Rescue team. He hasn’t told his colleagues about the nightmares that plague him, though it’s a secret he doesn’t know how long he’ll be able to keep.

Dr. Jo Marsh has made a career of helping patients deal with PTSD. Before that, therapy saved her own life and sanity, when she lost her sister and her eyesight in a car crash that was no accident.

She'd thought the past was behind her, but now, her sister’s killer is free, and there’s a very real chance he might be out looking for Jo. She knows the only way to stay safe is to keep a low profile. Which means, she can’t afford to get close to anyone. And that includes the hot search and rescue specialist who comes in looking for her help.

Action, adventure, romance … in the heart of the Alps. Guaranteed HEA.

Note to this adventure romance book is intended for adult readers and contains adult language. Although it is the tenth book in the Mont Blanc Rescue series, each book can be read as a standalone romance.

Sweet perfection:
I have loved every book of this series and am awed how this author has delivered yet another fabulous and unique story. It all seemed to flow effortlessly and I was drawn in instantly. I loved that there was just the right mix of dialogue, danger and sweet romance. I felt an immediate affection for both Hugo and Jo and was totally invested in their story. They made such a lovely couple and I loved seeing them overcome their challenges.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

Hugo Morant had been shot in the lower back during a rescue operation three months ago and was lucky to be able to walk.

He missed his work and seeing his roommates. Alex and Ry had both recently moved out when they met their girlfriends. Since being on indefinite medical leave from Chamonix Peloton de Gendarmerie de Haute Montagne, Mont Blanc’s elite mountain rescue team, he didn't get to see the guys every day.

He joined Isolde, a police psychologist, at the coffee shop, and she let him know that he was being approved for duty, but she wasn't him to agree to see a therapist for his nightmares. She said that Dr. Marsh specialized in PTSD.
Instead of the middle-aged man in a beard that Hugo had pictured, Marsh was a beautiful young woman. A blind woman.
Jo missed her parents. She had been in Chamonix for four months. Fleeing Seattle and changing her name. Lucky only to have lost her sight in the accident that had killed her sister. But her sister's stalker was still out there.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. As with all the books in this series, it has its own HEA, but I highly suggest that you read this complete series as the characters are recurring and Hugo's injury is part of a previous story.
Hugo is a member of an elite mountain rescue team and despite him beating the odds, making a remarkable recovery from a bullet wound, he can't get past the nightmares. Jo was in hiding as the FBI searched for the man who had killed her sister. Was moving to the French Alps far enough away?
This book is action-packed, full of danger, suspense and smoking hot. I love all the guys (and gals) of the Mont Blanc’s elite mountain rescue team! Every new book is like a reunion with all the previous characters. These characters will dig into your hearts, and the stories will have your hearts racing as they not only have dangerous jobs, but not all the rescues are related to the treacherous mountain passes.

Highly recommend!

A gripping tale of suspense, romance, and danger! Like other books in the Mont Blanc Rescue Series, this story follows a familiar plot. A hunky hero (Hugo) falls into lust with a beautiful woman (Jo), leading to several steamy romantic scenes. But our lovers must defeat a deranged villain (Horns) before they can reach a happily ever after ending. (Some spoilers ahead, but I won't reveal the ending.)

What makes this story unique? Our heroine is blind, having lost her eyesight six years earlier in a car crash that killed her sister when Horns--crazed with jealousy--deliberately ran their car off the road. When Horns escapes from prison, Jo changes her name and moves from Seattle to Chamonix in the French Alps, where she works as a psychologist. She meets Hugo when he seeks treatment for the PTSD he suffers after getting shot while on a mission with Mont Blanc's elite mountain rescue team. Lust quickly flares between them.

The plot thickens. Jo learns she's pregnant, due to a one-night-stand with another man two months earlier. Then France denies her long-stay visa application. Fearing that Horns will find her if she returns to the US, Jo accepts Hugo's offer of marriage, so she can stay in France and be covered by Hugo's medical insurance. Even though they're married, Jo tells Hugo nothing about Horns and the danger he poses until it's almost too late.

Naturally, Horns tracks Jo to Chamonix and kidnaps her, leading to a chilling confrontation between our crazed villain, his blind (but far from helpless) victim, and a man who'll risk everything to save her. This gripping tale earns four bright stars from me.

Hugo Morant is still recovering from a gunshot wound to the back. While he's doing well physically, he's still tormented by nightmares. He's referred to Dr Jo Marsh who specializes in treating patients with PTSD. Her methods made a difference for herself when she lost her eyesight and her sister in a car crash that was an attack. Hugo and Jo get close despite her trying to keep him at arm's length afraid of the man who's still out there. Jo keeps a low profile, but the man finds her anyway. Can Hugo and his team help?

I've really enjoyed this series and this book's a prime example of why. It's well-written with well-developed, believable characters and a fast-paced plot. Each time I think I have a favorite a new book comes along and changes my mind. I was drawn into this engaging story and kept hooked from beginning to end. I love Hugo and Jo as a couple. They both have issues they're dealing with, but they share their struggles and lighten their loads. This book has romance, intrigue, mystery, and suspense. It'll keep you on the edge of your seat. JR Pace is one of my favorite authors whose books are an absolute must-read. I loved this book and the series is fabulous. Each book is fresh, a can't-miss that I always look forward to. I highly recommend both book and series.

Another great read by this author and her Mont Blanc rescue men. Last read had Hugo getting shot when a rescue escalated and now months later his PTSD is still robbing him of his sleep. He goes to a therapist, Jo, who sees right through him…even though she is blind. Hugo is intrigued by the beautiful woman and when he finds out she is blind, his admiration grows but she is his therapist and makes a bold move by switching doctors so he can pursue his interest. Jo has gone blind in an accident that was caused by a psycho and now years later, she is still hiding out from him. With Hugo by her side, she opens up when it seems the danger has found her….Hugo and his team will do what it takes to save her.
A great read with suspense, surprises, great characters, a strong and independent heroine and a protective hero who treats his heroine with respect and is in awe of her. The story flowed nicely and kept me flipping the pages till the end.

Mountain Code by J.R. Pace is a thrilling, well-paced romantic suspense novel that kept me hooked from start to finish! The chemistry between the characters is electric, and the rugged mountain setting adds an extra layer of intrigue and danger. I love that Jo is so independent and confident and doesn’t let being blind take anything away from her quality of life. Hugo is a big softy and I’m so glad he gets his happy ending, especially after the event of the previous book! The story is packed with action, emotion, and just the right amount of mystery to keep the pages turning. J.R. Pace has a talent for creating strong, relatable characters and a storyline that pulls you in. My only concern was how Jo ‘identified’ the body from a photo? Still an amazing story! If you love romance with a dose of adventure, this book is a must-read! I love this series so much and I don’t want it to end! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

I have read several books in this series through ARCs and KU. When Hidden Gems offered this ARC, I decided to get reacquainted with the series. Each book can be read as a standalone, which made me want to go back and read more.
This is the story of Hugo Morant, recovering from his injuries and working to return to Mont Blanc Rescue team. Although he is physically healing, he is plagued by nightmares that are causing him issues. When speaking to his doctor, she recommended another therapist who specializes in PTSD. Enter Dr. Jo Marsh, a beautiful American doctor with personal experience with this type of therapy. She was in a tragic car accident where she lost both her sister and her eyesight from a traumatic brain injury.
Their relationship builds from their first meeting and grows as they help each other heal. As they start to move forward, they support each other and begin to build a future. Unfortunately, Jo’s past seems to be returning and could prevent any future.

The main characters in this book are well developed. You can easily visualize what they look like and what their personalities are like.

The environment is described with just enough details that you can see what the mountains look like. The detail is written so well that it feels like you are in the office that Jo works in.

The romance in this book is perfect. Hugo is this big burly type man in every way but in his dealings with Jo. He is tender, caring and loving. All the things most women want in their man. He is also very protective of Jo, which can be good or bad. But he did protective perfectly.

Overall, it give this book 4 stars. The only reason it is not more is that the ending seemed a little rushed. In my opinion, there should have been more detail to the ending. There was all this foreplay in the beginning and, boom, it was over. It just seemed like a little bit of a let down.

Wow great book! I really enjoyed Hugo as a character and what he had to go though.

When he had PTSD, Hugo is referred to another therapist,  Jo who has been blinded in a car accident and pregnant when Hugo offers to marry her.

Loads to action and danger in this book.  I've read a few books in this series and each is better than the last.  So was this one.  Hugo was just a kind, battle scarred Warrior trying to get back to his job as a Mountain Protector. But Jo also had her scars. Blinded from a car accident that killed her sister and she sent him to jail.  Pregnant and Hugo wanted her,  to help her but needed her.

So well done.  Beautifully written and a pleasure to dive into this world.  Fantastic book!

To say Hugo is blindsided is an understatement

But it just makes him fall for Jo even faster, he already knew she was smart, perceptive, compassionate but not easily fooled, independent and incredibly beautiful, to then find out she is blind too...he is amazed. Jo has come so far in six years, overcome so many obstacles and leads a far fuller life than many people with sight, however there are times when she needs to accept help, to reach out and to allow Hugo and his team to protect her.... it's just difficult to give up that hard won control. My heart hurts for the injuries, trauma and PTSD they have both suffered, but together they find a peace and acceptance that nobody else can offer. They find an unexpected yet beautiful and exciting future, I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

I've quickly fallen in love with this series and this book did not disappoint. We're up to Hugo and his recurrent dreams from his PTSD. He was referred to Dr. Jo Marsh to help him work thru his nightmares and found more than he imagined.
Jo has been thru a nightmare with losing her sister and her sight in a horrific accident and now has another obstacle to overcome with a stalker and another little surprise.
Will Hugo and Jo get their happy ending?

I love that the author includes disabilities into the stories which gives it a realistic feel for the characters as normal people.

Thanks to the author and hiddengemsbooks for the opportunity to read this before it was released. My review of this book is my own and has no influence from getting it early.

Another brilliant read in this series that just seems to get better with each book unlike some authors who fall away after a few books in a series. This is Hugo Moran's story he may have recovered physically from his gunshot wound but he is struggling with PTSD sent to talk to Dr Jo Marsh he finds a woman who has suffered her own PTSD problems She is still hiding from the man that caused her sister and her accident her sister died and she lost her sight and he is still loose. Now he has found her again can Hugo and his team keep her safe and can these two build a future together You will have to read to see

Hugo is still struggling to get back to being fit enough to return to work after being shot in the back. He needs to get a good night's sleep which is impossible with his constant nightmares. Jo has come to terms with being blind but lives in fear of being found by the man who caused her traumatic brain injury. Both of their struggles are well written, believable and sympathetically handled. A great couple thrown together through circumstances with a bright future if they survive to enjoy it. Loved it. Another great book in the series.

(4.5) Hugo reached through the pages to stir my heart. Dr Jo Marsh taught me about inner strength and provided a larger understanding of being blind. There is a true level of realism with blindness that stands out. Together Hugo and Jo lit the pages on fire. Besides being a romantic suspense novel with fabulous characters we care about, there are twists, threats and some humor. Thank you for the advanced copy. I have really enjoyed the connection and chemistry between Hugo and Jo, the way they understood each other, the support they gave and the respect they showed, I thought they made a lovely couple. I liked learning about Jo's world and how Hugo went about understanding and respecting it. Seeing Hugo work through things and learning about Jo's past helped me to feel a strong connection to them and want them to get their HEA, especially after the pain, trauma, grief and danger they went through. I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an ARC from Hidden Gems.

Another excellent read in the Mount Blanc Rescue series. The MFC Jolene is a blind woman on the run while Tristan has severe PTSD which is interfering with sleep. Both characters were extremely well written and their struggles were very relatable. The way in which Jolene had to count steps and how a blind person copes was spot on as I found myself remembering everything I had to do for my Dad. Highly recommend this series if you enjoy romantic suspense. One of my favorites for sure.

This is an amazing story of overcoming adversity and moving forward. Jo has learned to be self-reliant in dealing with her blindness after a car accident. Hugo has been able to come back from a bullet nearly paralyzing him, but still has PTSD. These strong characters are perfect for each other. And as with any Pace book, the suspense and her ability to create fantastic visuals will keep you turning pages late into the night.

This exciting story stirs the heart and had me all caught up in Jo and Hugo who comes to her for help with his PTSD. Things heat up between them when the man that was responsible for her sister's death and Jo losing her eyesight is released from prison with a chance that he will come looking for her. Will Hugo and the team be able to keep Jo safe.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.

Awesome action, romantic suspense that takes place in France. Hugo is recovering from a getting shot in the back. He’s a grumpy loner. Due to his job of high risk rescues and getting shot his psychologist suggests he see a specialist that deals with PTSD. Dr Jo Marsh is Hugo’s new therapist but sparks are flying even at their first meeting. Their journey is filled with danger, handicaps, fear and love. I look forward to reading more books by J.R. Pace.

I’ve enjoyed most of this series books. However, I would definitely rate this one as my favourite.
This author had a bit of a hiatus from writing a while ago, and personally I think she has come back even stronger. If you never read any of the others in this series, do add this one to your TBR, and like me you should love this story.

I loved this story. I thought it was a great book with a compelling storyline.

There is lots of suspense, intrigue and romance.

Both main characters were extremely well written. The way in which Jolene had to count steps and how a blind person copes bought a new perspective into a blind persons world.

Can’t wait for the next instalment.

Hard to Put Down

I have always loved this quiet giant and couldn’t wait to read his story, especially since he was shot at the end of the last book. The story did not disappoint. I loved Hugo and Jo together. They both helped to heal each other in a way. Surprises and twists and turns await the reader. You won’t be disappointed.

I absolutely love this series and I was wondering how J.R. Pace was going to tell Hugo's story as he's been one of the backbones to this series. The wounded hero suited him and I love the way that Jo and he worked together.
An page turner told at a solid pace with a really good cast of supporting characters.

Blind Love

This is Book 10 in the series. I loved this book. It was different in that the fmc is blind and navigating life and love with that added layer of challenge. It was interesting to see their love story unfold and the different challenges they faced due to her blindness.

As always this story was filled with action, suspense, mystery, spice and a HEA.

I really enjoyed this book. There are so many layers to Jo and Hugo. One of the best marriage of convenience I've read. I really enjoyed the disability reps. The found family of the team was very engaging as well. When it came to suspense, it was keeping me on my toes and wanting to read! I look forward to reading more of this series!

This insta love suspense story is the first I've read from JR Pace. Even though this is part of a series it can be read as a stand alone. This was a good story line with likeable characters. I would have liked to have seen the Bartholomew story play out a little bit more.
