Congratulations Gabby, on the release of this deeply moving and inspiring work! Reading this book has been a transformative experience that resonated with me. It’s rare to encounter a piece of writing that feels as though it’s speaking directly to your soul, offering not just insight, but also comfort and empowerment. Two lines from the book particularly stood out to me “it is in the whirlwind of life’s storms, that we discover our true strength, our true purpose, our true selves“ and “our stories weave us together, intertwine us, and protect us. They help us feel less alone and less crazy when we’re overwhelmed by the mess of life“. These words served as powerful reminders of the strength we all carry within us, even in our most vulnerable moments. They beautifully articulate how our shared experiences connect us, and provide solace in the chaos of life. The metaphor of “composting”- releasing into the universe the things that no longer serve us – is both poignant and practical. It gave me a fresh perspective on letting go, transforming pain and clutter into fertile ground for growth and renewal. This concept alone has inspired me to look at my own life through a lens of grace and transformation. This book is not just a collection of words – it is a gift, a guide, and a companion for anyone seeking to navigate the storms of life with courage and hope. Thank you for sharing your heart and wisdom with the world. Your words have made an indelible mark on me, and I’m sure countless others.

The Last Ceremony: One Woman's Journey of Healing & Creativity through Plant Medicine is a deeply personal memoir that explores healing with remarkable honesty and vulnerability. Gabrielle Pelicci invites readers into a journey that is as much about reclaiming one's authentic self as it is about navigating trauma, creativity, and spiritual awakening.
What immediately stands out is the memoir's openness. Rather than presenting healing as a straightforward path, Gabrielle embraces its complexity, allowing readers to witness moments of uncertainty, emotional struggle, profound insight, and unexpected transformation. That authenticity makes the narrative feel deeply human and relatable.
I particularly appreciated the way place becomes part of the healing process. From Puerto Rico and Guatemala to New Mexico and New York City, each location contributes its own atmosphere and symbolism, reflecting different stages of Gabrielle's emotional and spiritual evolution. The travel narrative enriches the memoir without overshadowing its emotional core.
Another strength is the thoughtful exploration of plant medicine within a broader journey of self-discovery. Rather than reducing healing to any single practice, the book presents personal growth as an integration of experience, reflection, creativity, and courage. The emphasis remains on inner transformation rather than simple answers.
Perhaps most inspiring is Gabrielle's willingness to share her story so openly. Her journey encourages readers to examine their own lives with greater compassion while reminding them that healing often unfolds in unexpected ways.
An intimate, beautifully written memoir that will resonate with readers interested in spiritual growth, emotional healing, memoir, personal transformation, and the search for authenticity.
