An inspiring story of an often overlooked character.
One of the things I was struck by was how tough life was back then… how often Jennie and James Hudson Taylor (and other family members) were ill, burned out, (in Jennie’s case, pregnant), or in some other way incapacitated. There were times when either or both of them worked incredibly hard. But other times they were laid low.
Also, life in those times just took more time, whether the travel by boat to China, or across China in various modes of transport, or setting up home or making food etc.
But God used them in spite of their weaknesses and frailties.
