An Adult Reading of Bible Stories by Jeanne Hawkins is an enlightening exploration of familiar Bible stories from childhood. The book is designed to provide readers with a deeper understanding and perspective of fifty Bible stories. Both Old and New Testament stories are examined.

The author took me through a Bible study journey of chapters titled Understanding the Genesis of Faith to Exile and Return to Wisdom Literature ending at Acts and Apostles. Each chapter shares insightful revelations encouraging personal reflection. Hawkins urges her readers to place themselves in the context of biblical figures and journal their thoughts, making it an exploration of faith and relationship with God. I found this book to be spiritually enriching and recommend it to family and friends.

This book takes an in-depth look at familiar Bible stories, helping readers understand the meaning behind them. The author does a great job connecting lessons from Scripture to the challenges we face daily. The book also gives some helpful background on the culture and history behind the stories, making them even more meaningful. If you want to reconnect with the Bible more thoughtfully, this is a great place to start.

Educational

This book was so helpful to me. I am coming to religion late in life, so this book helped explain things to me. I feel prepared and informed on my next religious adventure. I really found the book engaging, too.
