Reva Carraphim was raised as a Healer, not a warrior, but she finds her path leading toward a destiny she never expected. Accompanied by her friends— including the two men who have left a mark on her heart—she journeys to meet with the Light Sirians on an abandoned island, still reeling from all she’s learned and lost.
But the longer they’re on the island, Reva finds the Sirians are keeping secrets, causing her to question who she really stands with. But the more she trains without her mother’s necklace, Reva is plagued by dreams unlike any she’s had before. Something within her believes they may not be dreams at all…
Prince Tariq Hesper inherited a throne he wasn’t supposed to have, forcing him to step into a role he never wanted. He taught himself how to expertly hide behind a mask, command a room, and always be two steps ahead of his opponent… Until he fell hopelessly in love with Reva Carraphim.
Tasked with forging an alliance between his kingdom and the Light Sirians, Tariq learns the enemy is at an advantage. As control slowly slips from his fingers, he frantically holds onto a new future he yearns for, ignoring that he might have to choose between loyalty or love.
Their world as they know it begins to unravel, revealing a betrayal that just may ruin them both.
Death Raises Gods is the third book in The Sirians Series, a five-book epic fantasy romance series that follows the ever-reluctant, black-cat FMC Reva as she struggles to discover her heritage and who—and what—she really is. This slow-burn, friends-to-lovers series is perfect for readers who love unique magic systems, romantic tension, witty banter, and want something new in their adult fantasy books. This book is meant for readers who enjoy long game, plot-heavy romantasy like From Blood and Ash, Gild, Daughter of No Worlds, Shadow and Bone, and A Court of Thorns and Roses.

Death Raises Gods is EXACTLY what a third book in a fantasy series should be. The stakes were raised, the relationships grew and became more dynamic, and I was literally gripping the edges of Kindle in anticipation, excitement, and worry.
Series can be difficult sometimes, especially when its going to be a 3+ book collection. But this third installment in the Sirian series has to be my favorite. It is absolutely insane how the depth, plot, and universe expand more and more in the most beautiful ways while still leaving so much room for more exploration and plot going forward. Not a single moment was boring because it was all so intentional; reading this book is like watching a thousand tiny puzzle pieces all finding their places one at at a time.
I knew going into this one that there would be love triangles and betrayal and big reveals, and not a single one disappointed! Everything was written with such grace, thought, and passion; on top of the plot being an absolute rollercoaster and so satisfyingly built.
I have to shout out some specific things I absolutely loved because how can I not? From the way the love triangle is being handled (I CANNOT WAIT to see moreeee) to the expansive lore around Reva’s origins, I truly could not put this book down. I know I’ve said it before, but I will say it again: This is one of my favorite fantasy series, and with each book my love for it continues to grow.
Book three is a big growth book for Reva. We see her really learning to step into her power and who she needs to be for the war ahead. Is's also big for her relationship with Tariq nd I'm very interested to see where we go with the foundation that is laid down with between Reva, Tariq, and Fin. Is this love triangle turning into a why choose?
4.5⭐ - Reviewing the 3rd book in a series is always a little hard because I want to avoid spoilers! But here's what I can tell you...
I am truly enjoying everything about this series: the characters, the world-building, the magic, the plot and the romance. This is the kind of series where the first book was great and each book after has been even better. I love the progression of the complex but understandable world-building and lore. These characters have had some amazing growth already and I can't wait to see what's in store for them in the future. The romance is swoon-worthy, delivering some of my favorite tropes and emotional moments. The romance is essential to the story while also not overtaking the plot - it's a perfect balance.
I'll put my reason for this not quite being 5⭐ below, there will be spoilers... . . . . . . . . . . The way things went down with Reva and Fin really hurt my feelings in book 2. Don't get me wrong, I loved the way they made up in this book BUT....Reva should have done way more grovelling 🫢. With all the hinting, it is obvious this love triangle is headed towards some kind of throuple situation which I'm not mad at, but I also can't wrap my brain around it. I have a soft spot for Fin and with the way Reva and Tariq are being built up, I can't see how he will be anything but the third wheel. Nonetheless, the author has my interest and complete attention so whatever she's doing is working!!
I absolutely loved Death Raises Gods! The world-building is so immersive, and the political intrigue kept me hooked from start to finish. Reva’s journey is full of tension and surprises, and I adored seeing her grow stronger with every challenge. The love story woven through all the chaos was a perfect balance. I can't wait to see what happens next!
“If that makes me a problem, then I will be the biggest fucking problem this world has ever seen.” . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ . I devoured this book. Could not put it down! I am usually good at figuring out plot twists before they happen but I have to say, there are a few things that had my jaw dropped. Also, all of my favorite tropes are shining through one by one and I am eating it up! GrumpyxSunshine, Forced Proximity, Fated Mates, Love Triangles, etc - this one’s got it all! Reva never fails to impress me. Learning her true path, dedicating herself to her cause, taking on leadership despite her fear. I loved watching the relationship between her and Tariq grow. The way they balance each other, calm each other, is just so beautiful. Also, their spice was turned up a full notch, and it’s delicious! The way she finds peace in him, while finding strength in Fin’s steadfast presence is my favorite. Pax definitely has grown on me, and his growth throughout is so inspiring. To see someone who was poisoned from such a young age be able to work towards shedding those fears and the hatred that grew so viciously in him - his character arc is impeccable.
CONTENT WARNINGS: This series is intended for audiences ages eighteen and older. Strong language, explicit sexual content, violence, and graphic deaths.
REVIEW: With every book I read that has spice, I will continue to say that I am not a fan of sexual content. However, I read these books for the stories and the characters, not the spice. So, if you're like me and you enjoy the story but not the spice, be aware that there are some paragraphs you may want to skip.
The war is coming, and I'm ready for it. After reading this book, I want to see what happens next with Reva as a warrior and a leader. So many reveals and discoveries about her character, and I am eager to know what happens next on her journey in books four and five. The Gods of this universe are also explored further, and I am intrigued to continue learning more about them in later books and additional series and novellas.
I enjoyed the development and reveals for each individual character I have come to know so far in this series, and I liked the new additions that have joined the Sirians cast. Hollis is a particular new favorite!
The world K.M. Davidson has created is complex. I have a difficult time keeping up with the geography, names, gods, powers, and politics, but I am glad that all the information has been spread out amongst all three books. There is a lot of information to retain, but it isn't an info-dump, which I appreciate. The author has done a good job of evenly spreading out information as more continues to unfurl in the world of the Sirians.
️***POTENTIAL SPOILERS***
I am not a fan of the whole reincarnation thing, but the reason why it came about intrigues me. I want to learn more about why certain characters were reincarnated when the goddess of life and death wasn’t supposed to reincarnate souls anymore. I also want to know what the Lock is and why someone had to die for it to stay closed. What or who is trapped inside the Lock? I am perplexed. That’s all I will say about this topic for now.
I'm also not a fan of the love triangle turning into a “why choose” because I like Fin much better than Tariq. Tariq may seem kind to Reva and supportive, but he pushes her out of her comfort zone, and not in a good way if you ask me. Of course, Fin isn't perfect, but Fin jumps in to get Tariq to stop pushing Reva, and that is one of the reasons why I am “Team Finley.”
I'd rather the story be that she chooses Fin instead of Tariq, but whatever. Reva can choose both, even though I strongly disagree with her choice about Tariq. The relationship is like a meal: Fin is the side, and Tariq is the main course. Part of me wants to reach through the pages and shake her, shouting, “You've chosen the wrong man! Sure, you've picked both, but you're prioritizing the wrong one!”
Tariq doesn't sit well with me. I've always been suspicious of him. I think there's a darker side to him, and he hides it well from Reva. I believe his need for control is proving me right. I'm waiting for him to slip, to show a part of him Reva hasn't seen. While his temper does flare a bit in this book, shocking those who've known him the longest, it doesn’t frighten Reva. However, I'm waiting for him to explode in the next book; to lose the control he has so carefully placed into his life. I think Reva should fear him. I think he is hiding something. Ultimately, I think he's dangerous, and from some hints about him, I think I'm looking in the right direction.
I also theorize that Tariq will either do something to Reva or something will happen to Tariq, resulting in Reva being able to wield not only the Light but also the Darkness. I can't wait for books four and five to see if I'm right about his character and my theories!
⭐️ 5/5 stars – Death Raises Gods raises the stakes in every way! Bigger betrayals, more dangerous magic, emotional turmoil, power struggles, political intrigue and the tension! This book owns its tension. Every characters is one bad decision away from ruining everything! It had me gripping my e-reader like my life depended on it.
🌶️ 3/5 Spice Rating – I love K.M. Davidson’s writing style—how she weaves romance and plot together like a strand of DNA, separate yet seamlessly intertwined. There may not be pages on pages of open-door scenes, but trust me—the ones we do get? Whew. They’re intense, charged, and dripping with emotion, making every heated moment hit that much harder.
🖤 2.5/5 Darkness Rating – Check trigger warnings. While this is not a “dark romance” There are some triggers in the book and heavy topics that are covered. I know I felt a wide range of emotions!

What I Loved:
This book doesn’t hold back at all. Three things really stood out to me: the way the love story unfolds, the intricate political maneuvering, and the deep, immersive world building that brings all that Sirian lore to life. Everything is constantly shifting—there’s tension in every corner, and everyone’s fighting for survival. I literally felt physically stressed, caught up in the longing and heartbreak of these characters on multiple levels. When a book can pull that kind of reaction out of you, it’s an absolute yes in my book!
⸻
The Story (No Spoilers!):
The world is teetering on the edge of disaster. With the rise of the Dark Sirians (or should we say the Abysmal now?), tensions are sky-high—between groups, between friends, and especially between lovers. The stakes? Absolutely unhinged. So much is revealed, yet even more remains unanswered. Everyone is making choices with the limited information they have, but with shifting allegiances and politics at play, trust is a dangerous risk. We have secret missions, devastating truths, and the growing sense that fate is working against them, every decision matters—and not everyone will make it out unscathed.
⸻
Final thoughts:
This book wrecked me in the best way. I walked away with a deeper understanding of the world, the conflicts, and the overall history—but it also left me with so many questions and theories.
The love story has been building since book one, and I’ll be honest—I have no idea where it’s going. It set up a why choose dynamic, but with politics in play, will they even get the chance to choose?
The balance of danger, longing, and power plays makes this one of the strongest books yet. And that epilogue? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book for my honest review. And honestly? I am unwell.
𝓣𝓗𝓞𝓤𝓖𝓗𝓣𝓢 𝔇𝔢𝔞𝔱𝔥 ℜ𝔞𝔦𝔰𝔢𝔰 𝔊𝔬𝔡𝔰 is the third book in The Sirians Series, a five-book epic fantasy romance series that follows Reva as she struggles to discover her heritage and who she really is. This series is perfect for readers who enjoy a long game, plot-heavy romantasy like Gild, Daughter of No Worlds, Shadow and Bone, and ACOTAR.
Katie writes a wonderful story with strong characters and superbly creative (and lush) world building. This series is perfect for readers who love slow-burn, friends-to-lovers, unique magic systems, romantic tension, and witty banter. Also, if you like plot twists, a likable and relatable FMC, two charming MMCs, hidden powers, and a world where history has been misconstrued for a millennia, then THIS is for you! 🖤
I loved so many parts of this book… the plot twists I didn’t see coming, learning more about the prophecy and the gods, the political drama, multiple characters’ personal growth, but my favorite is the possible love triangle/why choose element because I 𝔻𝕀𝔻 ℕ𝕆𝕋 see that coming. I cannot wait for book 4!!
Author: KM Davidson Release: May 19, 2025 Books 1&2 available now!
Katie just keeps bringing the swoon and spice and strong women supported by men who would burn the world for her. This series has continued to rope me in and constantly intrigued. This third installment did not disappoint!
We enter right where we left off from book two and adventure is on the horizon! The embarkation of prophecy is right on Reva’s heels and so many reveals happen! The world building and lore increases and its intricacy is well done and so entertaining. But what I loved even more is how Katie navigates a supportive found family, anxiety and panic Rep, as well as the most beautiful romance. While a love triangle previously, we see some hints at a change in the future. However, my heart felt only excitement as we move through the pages and I’m quite certain everything I highlighted was from our MMC and I don’t think he can get more delicious. Each moment with our MMCs -as well as with our chosen family- was so intentional that it incited my emotions in the best way every time.
Tropes you may find in DRG are fated mates, love triangle to why choose?, chosen family, anxiety rep, feminine rage, character growth, banter, medium-high spice, he falls first and so hard, chin grabs, unique magics and god powers, and dual POV.
Katie, it was such a delight to be a part of your arc team again! Thank you so much for this opportunity!
i have been lucky enough to be an arc reader for all 3 of the books in the series so far, and each installment has done nothing but make me fall more deeply in love with these characters and this universe. i said this in my review of book 1 (darkness comes again), and i will say it again: despite being a high fantasy series with complex political structures, warring kingdoms, and an epic magic system, these characters feel like my family.
from the first page to the last, i was intrigued by every single aspect of the story. reva learning more about her ancestry and powers, tariq and fin’s relationship, elly’s involvement in marinade’s politics, the movements of the various groups of Magics and Sirians, connecting the dots from the flashbacks and reva’s visions, and on and on. death raises gods is everything i could have ever wanted as the third installment of a high fantasy series and more. and though it physically pains me that i have to wait so long before book four comes out, i could not be more excited to read the andromedans duology, a prequel to the sirians series.
NOTHING has come close to the high i felt when reading the throne of glass series for the first time— until the sirians series, that is. if you adored the following aspects of tog, you will adore the sirians series: —many seemingly insignificant moments coming full circle in the most gut-wrenching and endearing ways —found family that feels like YOUR family too —an epic magic system —unraveling the history that was taught to discover the truth that was buried —chaol and dorian’s relationship —destined/fated love —betrayal and redemption arcs —events from/decisions made thousands of years ago that are still a driving force in the present timeline
and thank you as always katie for the arc of death raises gods. you will continue to have a reader for life.
Death Raises Gods is another fantastic installment in the Sirians series. I’ve really enjoyed the magic system in this series, and we get a little more information on how exactly it works. I’m sure there’s so much more to find out in future books as well! I also really love the world building throughout this series. In every book, we get to learn a little more about the history of that world, and I thoroughly enjoy it!
It’s really nice to see both Reva and Tariq working through anxiety. Not only do I love seeing that representation in a fantasy book, but I also love seeing the way they both help one another when the anxiety begins to feel overwhelming.
Tariq and Reva’s relationship progressed nicely in this book. I liked seeing her learn to open up more and come to terms with her feelings. My only thing is that I’m not personally in love with the direction the relationship dynamic as a whole seems to be going. That’s 100% personal preference, but it’s the reason this wasn’t a 5 star read for me. It just felt kind of out of nowhere to me (and it’s possible I just missed hints from earlier in the series or something), but I know there’s tons of people that will really love the new/hinted at dynamic. It’s just not something I personally tend to reach for.
Overall, I still love this series and can’t wait to see where it goes in the future.
Thank you K.M. Davidson for the early review copy! All opinions are my own.
Death Raises Gods is that perfect third book in a fantasy series where the war is coming, and we have to start preparations. Alliances are being made, betrayals are revealed, love triangles are triangle-ing!!!! And more pieces of the puzzle are falling into place.
This was such a good read, I loved it! The plot was plotting, but we got so much more world building, information about the characters, insight into Reva’s history, and so much more.
I loved Reva and Tariq as they continued on their path together, and throwing Finny into the mix??? Yes please, I cannot wait for *those* scenes 🥵
The improved relationships between several of the characters, both romantic and not, were so well developed and I can’t wait to see more.
We wrapped up with some pretty big revelations, betrayals, and big tasks ahead. I have no doubt that book 4 will blow me away just as much as these past 3!
✨HOW DOES THIS SERIES KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER!?!!
✨I swear I fell more in love with this story and these characters each time I read a new chapter!!! Reva is a very complex and unique character, l've really loved to see her character development and how she handles everything being thrown at her in this book. My queen🥹🥹✨
✨TARIQ 🫦 THIS MAN 🫦 I am more in love and yeah SMASH. A nothing I loved about him was seeing his vulnerability and the raw emotions that he keeps hidden. He's my sweet baby and I want to hug him so much 😫
✨Fin, my poor boy, he went through so many emotions in this book and at the end I am happy for him and I can't wait to see where this journey takes him 🥹🥹🥹
✨Elly as always was being an iconic queen and Pax HE IS ANOTHER LOVE OF MY LIFE.
✨The found family and friendship in this book always leaves me with a sweet smile on my face, this is really something AND I NEED (it's a necessity at this point) THE NEXT BOOK 😫🤌🏻🤌🏻
Book three in the Sirians series, Death Raises Gods, is out now. I have so enjoyed being on this release journey especially with the found family moments in this series. The world building builds over all the books in the series and the plot twists keep me HOOKED. The magic system is very interesting and I love finding pieces of lore along the way. I also really enjoy the complex relationships (this will be spoiler free 🤭. You must read it for yourself). I love that Katie has a multiverse planned because I’d love to see how this all maps out in her brain. It really is so creative.
I have like 200 tabs in this book, so short of sharing every single one with you: this series has kept me intrigued so far, and every time a new book comes out I get super excited. Like did I take a 2-hour lunch break just so I could finish it? Yes, I did. It's fantasy, but not your "typical" fantasy - there are no fairies or fae to be found, but instead a unique magic system. Political issues. Personal issues. Drama, healing, humor, angst, betrayal, and intrigue. I'm stoked for book 4!
I really love how this story is progressing—each book gives us more insight into Reca’s powers, and we continue to learn more about her as she navigates her feelings for two very different men. I'm already in love with all of the characters and can’t wait to see where the story goes next. If you enjoy fantasy romances with unique magic systems and rich world-building, this is a series you’ll definitely want to check out!
A fun, spicy continuation of the series. Answers questions, and yet opens up more enticing questions that I can’t wait to find out in the next books. Lore and world building is superb as well as paired with vivid imagery for characters, landscapes and fighting. Epic god powers and rivalries lead to an exciting next book! Definitely recommend diving into this series 🤩
This book series is a chef kiss 💋 I love the characters and the growth and romance between them. It’s full of magic and some spice. I can’t wait for the continue on this series. You won’t be disappointed, I know that is for sure! Tropes inside the series include ♥️Forbidden Magic 🪄 ♥️Love Triangle 😈 ♥️Slow Burn 🔥 ♥️Found Family 🥹 Star Rate is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice rate is 🌶️🌶️
“You want to know what it’s like to have the crown prince AND his knight?” Well, yes. Yes we do! That’s (part of) the reason we’re here 3 books into this wonderful series! The other reasons being: the development of the magic system, the mysteries being discovered about the Gods and the development of the world. And last, but not least, the found family! Just love this group of people so much. And the addition of Hollis was just the best addition! But, I need book 4 now! Please? Yes, I’m begging…
I truly truly think this is my favorite book of the series. So much happened that will lead into the next book, loose ends were tied, secrets revealed, and so much history of the world brought to light. I have nothing bad to say about this book. I'm devestated at the cliff hanger, and I'm terrified to see what is done in Book 4...
I’ve loved this series from the beginning, and this third book was ✨everything✨
The growth and development of everything within the characters and the story is unfolding so wonderfully, I’m obsessed!
And um, the hints for a throuple I didn’t know I was desperate for had me like 😲🥵 Her powers were seen more and that ending!! Ugh 🤌🏼🤌🏼 I just love it so much.
The plot thickens and the series continues to deliver! This is a great third installment that really allow the characters to develop into who they are and will be for the escalation to the war ahead. I loved the villain and allowing for the ability to show the similar feeling to Reva, but the path they both decide to choose.
This series just gets better and better!!! The plot is so epic and so intricate! There were some BIG revelations in this one and I’m SO excited for book 4!
The found family is so amazing, I love this little group so much!!! The romance is so sweet and spicy, I love Reva and Tariq’s relationship and how they help each other through things. They handle the tough stuff together, side by side.
I don’t want to give anything away so I will just say please read this! If you love epic fantasy, with some spicy romance on the side…this is for you!!!
I just keep falling more and more in love with these characters. It’s so fun to see Reva come more into her powers, with all her friends there to support her. This book in particular has so many *gasp* moments that I did not see coming. I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here and will be anxiously waiting for the next book in the series.
The MMC drove me crazy in this book. And not in a good way. I’ll continue reading for the FMC journey but hoping there is some character development/maturing in book four.
The cliff hanger is one I did not see coming!!! It sets up the next book perfect to learn more about the powers Reva gets to step into and her history! Cannot wait for the next book!!
This is the perfect third book of a series, packed full of conflict, political intrigue, betrayal (!!!!) and so much more! Katie drops so many hints and teasers in this book, I don’t think I’ll know peace till book 4 and I love that lmao
This book dives so much deeper into the magic system and world, both of which are so fascinating and unique. Everyone who loves Romantasy/Fantasy but wants something new and different from your usual tropes and magic, please add this series to your TBR! TODAY!
As for our girl Reva in this book - omg! The growth? The evolution? The power? She is such a badass and I am positively obsessed with her. I loved seeing the relationships with both guys blossom in this book too, we definitely kicked the spice up a notch and I just know it’s going to keep going 📈📈📈 The tension and chemistry between all three of them had me giggling and on the edge of my seat the whole time! The way it’s set up to continue in book 4 has me so excited!
Finally, I have to mention this in every review of a @kmdavidsonbooks book because it’s that unreal. THE PROLOGUE AND EPILOGUE!! She knows how to reel you in from the first few pages every time and then an epic conclusion. I am quite literally hooked from the first to last page - what more could you want??
In conclusion, another banger from my fav 🙂↕️ thanks again for this early copy, Katie!! You’re the best 💗
I was completely captivated from the first page. No one writes a prologue like K.M Davidson — I honestly don’t know how she does it! For every book in this series so far there’s been a prologue, and they’ve set the scene so eloquently every time. The prologue in Death Raises Gods is my absolute favourite though, as further into the book we get to see some bits related directly back to what happens in the prologue.
And speaking of the title of the book, don’t you just adore when you pick up a book and the title is a bit obscure — like, what does it actually mean? — and then there’s this revelation (or a hint at some deeper lore) and it all just MAKES SENSE. Yup, that’s how brilliant Davidson is at planning out her series and plotting her plots!! It truly is amazing to read, when you see all the pieces fall neatly into place. And we get so. many. answers. in this book!
The stakes are truly raised in this third book and we get some REALLY anxiety inducing scenes too, iykyk 🫣
In regard to the romance aspect of this “romantasy” series: the love triangle is leaning into a “why-choose” romance (finally!!) and it’s so beautifully done. I actually cannot wait to see where the trio ends up and how it will affect the story as a whole! But knowing Davidson, I’m sure she’s already got it all planned out, and I just need to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride 😌
The Sirians Series is by far my favourite indie book series to date. And If you’ve followed me for a while know you’ll know that these books have completely consumed me since the first one was released in 2024. I’m so incredibly grateful to have been able to Arc-read not just the second, but now also the third book in the series. And I simply can NOT wait for the next instalment 🖤
