Letting go is hard... but holding on could be fatal.
I thought I had it all. Kai, the man I trusted with my soul, shattered everything with a betrayal so deep it left me hollowed out. Nights turned cold, my mind spun, and my heart was haunted by a connection that once burned like wildfire. Even as I watched it crumble, I kept clinging to the ashes, hoping they'd reignite.
I gave him everything—my body, my heart, pieces of my very soul—but it was never enough. It would never be enough.
I faced heaven and hell searching for answers, but the truth hit Kai never wanted me. He wanted a crutch for his own darkness. And I was done being his lifeline.
But cutting Kai loose could be the most dangerous thing I've ever done. Because in a world of shadows, sometimes peace lies in pain, and true freedom demands that you burn away every last part of yourself that clings to what’s already gone. Embracing the dark thrill of my forbidden desires, I unlocked a hidden power—an allure he could no longer control.
For the first time, I'm ready to find out who I am without him—if I survive it.

For as long as she can remember, Antonella Sinner has always had a passion for reading. Growing up, she always asked herself what she wanted to be and has always answered with the same: a writer, creating and fabricating stories she so wishes she could find on shelves. Today she writes dreamy romances full of paranormal beings of all kinds with a few touches of spice here and there.
Born and raised in New York City, Antonella lives with her beloved furbabies, Juliet, the Shih Tzu she’s had since she was nine, and her recent adoption, Major, the spoiled brat of a Persian cat her family loves to call the Pharaoh of the block. When Antonella isn’t writing her next fantasy she’s either binging a TV show or nose deep in a fantasy romance book.
Eulogy in the Ashes was a strange read for me. I always want to be honest with my reviews and my indie authors, and I hope they take my reviews as constructive criticism and not anything negative because they do work hard on their books and I know that.
With that being said, I really enjoyed the author's writing style, but I kept just waiting for something to happen, and when it finally did it just kinda felt rushed, which I kept in mind that this book is only 187 pages and you can only fit so much into that amount of space so I do understand that aspect of it.
With a shorter book there is always room for more details, and to create something longer, of course, this all depends on the author and how they wanted the book to play out. Personally, as the reader, I felt like the last 10% of the book could have been stretched out further, and the beginning of the book could have been shortened if the author wanted to keep that same short-read book.
I have no issues with the grammar, or trying to understand the flow of the book, like I said I really did like the author's writing style. I just had a hard time connecting to any of the characters and connecting with the vibe of the book all together. Which of course these are just my opinions as a reader, and I will always recommend to people who read my reviews to still give the book a try! I may not vibe with it completely because not every book is for everyone. Just because I didn't connect to the characters doesn't mean you won't.
I liked the different points of view from the MFC and her friends, which I’m always a sucker for seeing everyones point of view of the storyline. The book also wasn't difficult to read and wasn't hard to finish, it just wasn't a super huge favorite of mine, but the writing style was perfect!
This book is part of a series, but thankfully, it doesn’t leave you with a major cliffhanger—just enough intrigue to make you eagerly anticipate the next installment. However, as of writing this review, it’s not clear when Book 2 is set to be published.
The story is incredibly relatable. Aria is navigating a major heartbreak, struggling to move on, and questioning her self-worth. She experiences emotions that hit close to home for many of us: being obsessed with an ex (in a realistic way, not the dramatic dark-romance way) and dealing with being used by that ex, hoping against hope that things might change.
The narrative primarily follows Aria’s perspective, with a mix of others for added depth. The blend of raw heartbreak and Greek mythology was unexpected but captivating. I’ll admit, the blurb didn’t quite do the book justice—it ended up being much more impactful than I anticipated.
If you’re a sensitive reader, take the trigger warnings seriously. I usually handle heavy content well, but there was a scene so intense that I had to set the book aside to catch my breath.
There are minor inconsistencies, but honestly, I was so engrossed in the story that they didn’t bother me. The writing style is deep and reflective, though there’s a noticeable overuse of a particular word (we all have our quirks). Overall, Antonella Sinner’s ability to craft such emotionally resonant prose is impressive.
Here’s what you’re in for: ✔️ A$$ men who use depression as an excuse ✔️ Cool side characters ✔️ Depression ✔️ Female friendships ✔️ Female rage ✔️ Greek Mythology ✔️ Heartache ✔️ Med burn ✔️ Quick Read ✔️ Rebirth ✔️ Revenge ✔️ SA ✔️ Supranational war
This book wasn’t what I expected, but it hit all the right notes. Sign me up for the next one—I can’t wait to see what happens next!.

I enjoyed this short read but felt that some chapters could have been longer and less descriptive with more content the main character Aria/Nyx would have been more likeable. Her decision making was questionable and I felt a bit more reasoning behind these would have improved the understanding of the reader. I get she needed trauma to rebuild but there were a few unanswered or rushed parts that could have improved the plot.
That said I read this book pretty quick, it is short. I followed the story and wanted to finish the book. Vanessa Gabby and Libby were a great addition but again their relationship was more off page than on and I love a good girl tribe. There are a few triggers so check your trigger warnings.
Spice was not really there with the characters but this felt like a prequel to a bigger story. The text was written well and I feel keen to read the next instalment of the story when out to see if these come together. I loved the ending more than I think I should have but I felt like it really got going then.

This was my first time reading a book by Antonella Sinner and this short story is the first book in a new series. The book isn't a very long read with under the 200 pages, so it can be read in one sitting.
Sinner her writingstyle is fast and very describing. And though I needed to get into the story a bit when I started, after a few chapters I really got into it and I couldn't put it down. The heartbrake Aria felt throughout the book was really relatable, making it easy to like Aria. The underlying part about the book reveals itself in the last few chapters. Which made me think a bit where the story would go. But at the end it made perfect sense. Now I'm very curious how the story will continue and I can't wait to read the next book.
Antonella Sinner thank you so much for this ARC to read and review.
This book needs trigger warnings: Non-Consent, self harm, cheating, drug use.
The writing is good but I, personally didn’t feel like I knew the characters. It’s not a long book but it felt very rushed and the FMC just found everyone attractive and made poor, unthought-out decisions. The writing style was easy to read and descriptive and I enjoyed the story but I definitely think the trigger warnings need to be advertised.
I would have enjoyed more of the supernatural side of things earlier on in order to connect with the characters and add “padding” to the story but it was still a good, quick read.
Aria is like most girls. She's got her guy. She's got her group of besties and all is as well as can be expected... Right? Like a bomb ready to explode her life as she has built it starts to count down to something we just don't know what. Like a check list first this then that, never ending until... Well it begins to all makes since and I'm not giving it up. Let's just say I can't wait for book 2! So read this now so you don't have to catch up later.

I liked this part of the duet very much and I will definitely read the second one. Above all, check out the trigger warnings! I found the writing style with the chat histories very interesting and a bit different. As the book is quite short and quick to read, you get to know the characters, but only partly on a deeper level. Nevertheless, I really liked the characters and the story and enjoyed reading the book.

I really liked this book. I wish it had been longer and the character and stories more fleshed out. Her writing is really good and even though the story of Nyx/Aria and the rest of the group continue in the next book this just felt very rushed.. The transition from human to otherworldly was a little sudden although it was hinted at by Vanessa. Still give it 3* because the writing was skillful and I want to read more!
This was a good story. It was a page turner and the suspense was insane. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. This story really caught my attention of how everything went down between Aria/Nyx were complicated people who were going through things in their own lives. It was action packed of emotions and darkness and madness. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
I resonate with being reborn from ashes so this book pulled me in quickly. The writer is very descriptive and it was easy to read with relatable characters. It would be 4/5 but last few chapters felt like an incomplete idea. The content is there and I’m hoping it will all pull together nicely in the next book!
This book had me from the start! I felt so connected to the Fmc because my life to had been down that road of giving your heart and soul for someone who you thought was your ride or die only to find out you were never his. I loved the way the book was written. I really liked this book that I'm most likely gonna read it again in the near future! Def recommend adding it to your tbr!
I loved this authors writing. Had me from the start I could relate to the FMC in the beginning giving my heart and soul to someone and then find out they found someone else and didn’t want to let me go. I really liked this book just wished in some parts it was explained better and the book was longer.
This was a great dark romance. The author had wonderful descriptive words. It had lots of twists and turns that keep my interest. The characters were all supportive characters. The book was emotional and suspenseful. I can't wait for the continued book 2.

I’m honestly not sure what this book was supposed to be about. It seemed to center around a heartbroken girl with some kind of magic who transforms into a new person, Nyx. But so much of the story felt like a very long introduction, heavily focused on her heartbreak, and then suddenly, she dies and becomes Nyx? I was left feeling a bit unsure about the overall direction.
The ending, while intriguing, could have used more explanation or expansion—it felt rushed and left a lot of questions unanswered. That said, I’m glad there’s a book two, because this story does have potential, and I’m hopeful it will build on the setup here and provide more clarity.

Antonella Sinner wrote this perfectly and enjoyed the fantasy element from the concept. I enjoyed how well the plot was and how the characters were used in this universe. I was invested in what was going on and was glad everything flowed overall.

I feel like this should have been longer. This felt rushed, and felt like there were bits and pieces missing that were needed. I didn't feel connected to the characters, and all in all this one kinda fell flat for me.
Unsure how I feel about this book , the writing was quite skilful but the storyline felt hit and miss to me , giving the author props for including matters of mental heath and touching on them in the book.
This book seemed a bit rushed. Things not explained well or not taken the time. The concept was very nice. I would have liked it to be a little longer. 3.7
