Emilee I thought I knew the truth about how everyone saw me. I’d even stake my life on it, which I did. But behind every story are three theirs, yours, and the truth. The thing about the truth, it will come out eventually. Christian and Vanessa might have broken my spirit, but Parker obliterated my heart. I’m tired of living in a world full of broken pieces. Can I fix what is left behind by Parker’s betrayal, or will the secrets I still hold deep shatter my world once again?
Parker I let a promise and my fear break the only girl I’ve ever loved. Then I watched the life drain from her eyes, begging her not to leave me. She might have survived, but I lost her anyway. But nothing will keep me from proving that I was set up or stop me from fixing my broken butterfly. And to do that, I need to find a way for her to trust me again so that she can heal and we can move forward together.
I gotta say I loved the book Fixing Emilee just loved it. 💜🦋🦋💜 It’s nice that Parker never gave up on Emilee. She finally heard him out after taking the space she needed to be strong within herself. Her family came together and gave her all the support she needed. Brought tears to my eyes with everything she has been through. With her own strength she fought back in her own way without letting it diminish her own greatness. Would have loved to see a little more punishment for Christian and Vanessa (especially Vanessa) those two have bullied her for years. Emilee stayed true to herself despite the uphill internal battles she was facing. So so proud of her. This book was very well written. I can relate to some of what Emilee went through. Can’t wait for the next book. Looking forward to it. A. Greene is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I got an ARC of this book and the review is my own opinion. Thank you for the opportunity to read an ARC. Salima
If your looking for a spicy feel good ending to a very dark story, well look no further! This book has so many twist and you don't see them coming! I cried, I laughed and I got down right mad at this book, but I couldn't put it down. I don't leave many reviews but I feel that this story relates so well to so many individuals fighting with mental health issues. But it shows that there is a light at the end of that tunnel and don't give up!
This is the second book and the conclusion of Emilee and Parker story. It picks up where the first book stops. Emilee thought she knew everything but she doesn’t her bullies may have broken her her spirit but it take Parker to fix her, that is if she allows him back into her life. I really loved this book. It made me cry, heartbroken, mad, laugh, and happy. Emotional rollercoaster is what I felt like after reading this story.
“You wear your scars on the outside while I hide mine on the inside”
After Emilee completely broke in book 1 of this duet (Breaking Emilee), we had no idea if she was even able to be fixed or wanted to be. That cliffhanger had all our hearts in our mouths and on the edge of our seats.
Fixing Emilee kicks straight off from where book 1 ends, and had me reaching for the tissues once again.
Were all the questions I had from the end of book 1 get answered? including:
Was Emilee able to forgive Parker? Was the truth learnt? Did Emilee reconnect with her family? Did the bullies get what they deserved? Did Parker finally get his mum? Did Parker and Emilee get there HEA?
You will have to read it to find out. But you won’t be disappointed.
This book mended our broken hearts, and the writing is spectacular. Author A Greene has done a fantastic job giving us all the feels and digging deep into our hearts breaking it and then fixing it, leaving a lasting effect on us.
Weeks after reading this, we are still talking about it and it will definitely stick in our hearts until the next chapter in this world.
This will be the authors second released book and we are just praying that many more are written as the writing style is really something to shout about.
Happy reading x

Emilee and Parker deserved all the happiness, and that ending gave me all the feels. I highly recommend reading this duet. My heart hurt for Emilee, and it was so lovely to see how she became her own (and Parker’s) butterfly. Just beautiful.

Fixing Emilee, Book 2 of the Love in the Bootheel Duet, was about 17-year-old (almost 18) Emilee Hill, a high school senior, and 18-year-old Parker West (there are more books in the series, but the first two cover the romance between Emilee and Parker), also a senior who had recently transferred to her school.
Book 2 picked up right where Book 1 left off, with all hell breaking loose, lies being thrown around, threats being made...and Emilee on the way to the hospital, barely hanging on after an attempt to end her misery. While they waited for news, Parker managed to tell the doctor, his aunt, and Emilee's family what had brought on such a travesty. Everyone was pointing fingers and in denial...except for Parker, who blamed himself the most.
Although the doctors were able to revive Emilee, they were admitting her to the psychiatric ward for treatment. The family was told that they could see her, but only if Emilee agreed. However, the only person she asked for was her older brother's girlfriend, Carly. The only person who hadn't turned her back on Emilee. When Carly told Parker that Emilee needed to see him (although she didn't ASK for him), he entered her room, only for her to go into a screaming fit that necessitated her being sedated. As she succumbed to the medicine, she told Parker to pretend she had died. While Emilee was recuperating in the hospital, Parker set out to prove his innocence and get as much evidence against Christian and Vanessa as possible to nail them to the wall.
This book was gut-wrenchingly hard to read. Seeing on paper what this character went through (yes, I realize it's a work of fiction, but it touches on SO many REAL LIFE scenarios) was hard to read, but in a way, it was also therapeutic. The angst, the drama, and the conflict were all amped up to their highest levels and, for once, not over the top in their strength. It was necessary to allow the reader to FEEL every emotion this FMC endured. Unlike its predecessor, this book was focused on the issues that made Emilee the person she had become, as well as her road to recovery and how that morphed her family from being among her worst enemies to her greatest allies.
There was a tremendous amount of growth and maturity in all of the characters, especially the MMC and the FMC. With all of the drama that took place in this story, those two struggled the most (which was appropriate), and they did the most maturing. However, it was unusual for nearly everyone to show just as much growth as the two main characters. Unlike most stories, the support that was shown was off the charts.
Although this story had its share of grammatical errors, they did not detract from the message this book had to tell. Unlike Book 1, I felt that this story deserved a four-star rating, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series (while these two books were considered Book 1 & Book 2, the next book is listed as Book 1. That's because Breaking Emilee and Fixing Emilee were a Duet, so the author numbered the rest of the series with 1-4. There was also another novella written called Hill Family Christmas, which brings the mother of Emilee, Adam, and Levi back into the picture.
This book picked up where the last book ended. I absolutely loved watching as Emiliee and Parker work their way back together. Emiliee still had a secret she was holding. She was terrified that everyone would hate her again if it got out. Vanessa still tries to bring her down in this book. Emiliee is a little bit more stronger in this book which helps her against Vanessa's crap. I really loved how no matter what Parker loved her with everything he had even when she wanted nothing to do with him. This book does end on a little cliffhanger but no where as bad as the first book. Trust me when I say you want to stick around to see what happens next.
Fixing Emilee Love in the Bootheel Duet Book 2. It was so good to see Emilee come into her own in this book and find newfound confidence and love within herself and with Parker. I can't deny it was lovely to see them finally get their happily ever after too.
If you like angsty, bittersweet and coming-of-age books, be sure to check out this duet. A very well done to this author, and I look forward to seeing what's in store for us next.
Another emotional masterpiece. The million dollar question is will Emilee give Parker a chance to explain? While enjoying Emilee’s growing confidence and self discovery and suffering through Parker’s anguish about Emilee’s misconceptions, this book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, it will heal the broken pieces of your heart and leave you believing in love and HEA.
After reading breaking Emily I desperately needed this book. And although this book was just as emotionally challenging in some areas as breaking Emily there was still hope and there was still a journey of healing. I'm still saddened that not everybody gets this ending. And I want to say thank you for writing this story.
I had the pleasure to read this book before release date. This is one of the best books I have ever read. It is a 2 part series. It gave me so many emotions while I read from start to finish. Please if you are looking for a really read this is the one for you.
This was a good follow on, I think there was so much happening to this poor girl and so many issues kept popping up. I don’t think a lot that happened to her was valid or worth the excessive treatment it was all a bit much.
Fixing Emilee is the conclusion to Breaking Emilee and picks off right where we were left clutching our hearts and reaching for the tissue box that we’d used up throughout.
It was beautiful to not only see Emilee and Parker overcome their demons and insecurities but to trust each other and build their love into something that we dream of.
This book hits you in the feels and you’ll still be reaching for the tissues but this time around they will be happy tears. It’s raw, it’s honest and it’s a damn good read. This up and coming author is one to watch and fill your bookshelves or kindles with.
I received an arc copy of this book. May contain some slight spoilers. Okay so I read Breaking Emilee and I really enjoyed that book. It was very emotional and just genuinely good, and I was looking forward to the second part, Fixing Emilee. Altogether I give this book 3.5-4 ⭐️. Overall it was a decent read. I felt like it could’ve been a little been longer as I feel like everything happened so fast in this book. It does bring everything full circle as far as Emilee, Parker, and Emilee’s family. In this book Emilee finds healing but the poor girl just can’t seem to catch a break because Vanesa is still after her, mainly it seems because she’s jealous Parker wants Emilee instead of her. Emilee’s biggest kept secret is revealed and she and her family have to navigate through that. Altogether It is a good book and I recommend it.

This is the conclusion of Emilee and Parker's story and I just knew after reading the first book it was going to be rough and yep I was right. This picks up where the first book ended and takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that left me crying at work with what Emilee was having to face, but in order for her to get better she knew she had to tell someone. Parker was her never ending support, who would do anything for her, and who loved her. He never gave up on her. This book was simply amazing and definitely a must read, but read the triggers before reading I can't stress it enough.
