A heartfelt holiday tale of a family’s legacy that leads two hearts to love.
Reeling from the recent death of his father, Alex Hudson returns to Silver Bluff to protect his family's legacy. Upon reaching Hudson House, he discovers the once-vibrant estate all but abandoned. On top of that, his conniving aunts seem intent on seizing his inheritance. In search of support, Alex turns to a local attorney. There, he meets a woman who becomes an ally, friend, and the one person who can give him hope and a place to belong.
Nori Laroux enjoys working as a partner at her father's law firm. However, when he entrusts an important client to her care, Nori finds herself grappling with her feelings for Alex Hudson from the moment they meet. Committed to protecting his inheritance, she is determined to help Alex preserve the legacy of Hudson House, even if it means risking her own heart in the process.
When Alex suggests the idea of reopening the historic home for a Christmas celebration, Nori and her family eagerly step in to help deck the halls and fill Hudson House with cheer.
Will the holiday season bring Alex and Nori to the discovery that hope is a special gift and that love is the most treasured of all?
A Christmas Hope is the fourth book in the Hudson House Holiday series of wholesome, heartwarming Christmas romances full of the joy of the season.

A Christmas Hope is the final book in the Hudson House Holiday series and skips several generations. Alex Hudson is the 6th generation of the Hudson family, the great-grandson of Jack Hudson. His parents have both died and he is to inherit the Hudson Estate and Businesses. He had been working in South America and came home to settle the estate with the plan to return. He was shocked when he arrived at Hudson House to see that is had not been cleaned or opened since his Aunt Vienna's death. When he meets with the lawyer, he finds out that two of his aunts are contesting the will and trying to get their hands on Hudson House. He knows and so do the lawyers that his Aunt Vienna had vowed that they would never get their greedy hands on any of the Hudson businesses or home. Alex has to stay in Silver Bluff until things are settled. While there he has to decide what to do with the estate, which although smaller, still has a beef business, overseen by a cousin. Working with his lawyer, Nori Laroux, the daughter of his father's lawyer, they decide to turn the home into a museum. Working together with Nori's family they have a lot to do in order to get the house ready for a Christmas opening.
This was a wonderful ending to the Hudson House series. Alex had never lived at Hudson House but visited often as a child. He had fond memories and wanted to house to come alive. Throughout the series, the house was like another character, and this book definitely showed that. With Nori working in such close quarters, it is inevitable that they will fall for one another. Nori has an interesting past, being part Japanese, her family was interned during and following WW2. Her family is extremely talented, with her sister-in-law being and interior decorator that stopped work when she had children, her father a lawyer, her other sister-in-law an accountant and her mother an amazing cook. They all bring ideas to Alex to add to his museum. Finding the carved Santas that were a large part of Kase's story, tied them together. This was another sweet romance, a story of family, community and Christmas. I enjoyed this book and the whole series.
An awesome ending to an awesome series. Alex was only home long enough to fulfill his father’s wishes for the Hudson Estate and then he was off again. Until the old house started to grow on him; the memories kept coming back; the house needed to come alive again. When he meets his new attorney, Nori, things really start to mean more. Together they start the wheels rolling to restore Hudson House to its glory and let a new generation see what his ancestors loved so much. And that conservatory lives up to its reputation again as the best place for your first kiss! 😁
I enjoyed this series. It has an enduring, timeless feel as we look back at old times and remember. Don’t forget your heritage and legacy and always let God direct your steps, even if it isn’t what you first thought you wanted; it will be better than all you had hoped or dreamed of.
I received a complimentary copy and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review.
What a wonderful finale to the Hudson House series. When Alex returns to Silver Bluff for the reading of his father's will, he has no intention of settling down and staying. When he meets the lawyer in charge of his case, he is immediately drawn to her and she to him. As they work together to restore the beauty and magic of Hudson House, they fall deeply in love while they explore the history and legacy of the Hudson family. As with the other books in this series, the house is itself a big part of the story. I love that Shanna brought in not only the Hudson legacy, but Rock and Miko's descendents and retold their love story. This was a beautiful love story not just of Alex and Nori, but all of their ancestors.
I received a copy of this book from the author as an ARC, but this is an honest review.
I hate to see this series end. Loved watching the generations of Hudson House. Some of it good and some of it bad. Alex is finally coming home, but he will be alone. His parents and his grandfather have all passed and he is now by himself. When he gets to Hudson House, it is to find it in terrible shape. There was supposed to be a housekeeper there to keep things clean. After checking with the attorney, he starts the ball rolling to get the house back to its original beauty. Nori is now Alex's attorney, and when Alex walks in, she is so struck by him. And Alex feels the same way. Nori helps Alex as he has to take care of money hungry relatives and deciding what to do with Hudson House. It is too big, and Alex wants to share it with others. As he and Nori come up with a solution, they grow closer. Will Alex stay in the country? Will he want a life with Nori?
After spending the last decade working in South America, Alex Hudson, great-great-nephew of Vienna (A Christmas Love), returns to Silver Bluff to honor his father's last wish of restoring Hudson House.
Tired of cases that tested her morals for the past seven years in Portland, Nori Laroux moves back to her small hometown as a partner in her father's law firm. Given the job of handling the legalities of the will, Nori helps Alex preserve the historic home.
A Christmas Hope is the fourth book in the Hudson House Holiday series by Shanna Hatfield. I loved this sweet romance. Having Lyra and Remi from Dear Miss Nicholas - part of the author's previous holiday series - included in the story was great.
I received a free Kindle copy of this book. I volunteered to read it and write a review.
Alex Hudson returns to Hudson House only to find it is in really bad shape. He is there for the reading of his Aunt Vienna’s will and as he navigates through his grief and restoring Hudson House he relies more and more on his lawyer, Nori, who comes along side of Alex as he learns about his ancestors and decides what direction to take in regards to his inheritance. I enjoyed being a part of the journey as Alex and Nola fall in love with each other and how they finally decided to insure Hudson House future. It is a bittersweet journey for me as I finished this book which is the last novel in this series. All four novels captivated me and I eagerly awaited the next one. I will remember these novels for a long time and eventually reread them again/ Shanna has done an amazing job of telling this story of generational families. R. Fody Dec. 3, 2024
Wonderful series! If you are looking for a warm, inspirational, family oriented, feel-good Christmas series—this is it! This final installment in the Hudson House series brings us to present day. Alex only plans to follow his father’s wishes and restore Hudson House to its former glory then return to a yet undetermined job. But he meets his beautiful lawyer for the estate, Nori, and is totally smitten. As they go through Hudson House and he learns even more of its history and the love of his ancestors the house seems to come alive. As they work together to bring back some of the original traditions their love grows stronger. When this author crafts a story you feel like you are there and you are a part of the family. Each book in this series is a short read and it is just what you need to get in the Christmas spirit! Don’t miss it!
Another wonderful installment into the life at Hudson House. This is book 4 while it can be a read alone, you will get more out of it if you read one of the earlier books as well. I loved each one!
We meet Alex Hudson who returns to his family's historic house after his father passes away. He has been traveling abroad his whole life. Can he put down roots? He is determined to bring back the family legacy and reopen Hudson House after what seems like quite a while, and it has fallen into disrepair and the community connection lost. It is really special to watch things come together, and this beautiful home and community come to life. He works with Nori Laroux, who is the local attorney who is the daughter of a notable attorney in town. They become friends and more, but can he leave his wanderlust of foreign lands behind to continue his family's legacy?
In book 4 of the Hudson House series we meet another generation of the Hudson family in Alex. Unfortunately Hudson House has been neglected but Alex is determined to bring her back to life and with the help of Nori they come up with a plan to show the house off to everyone. Working closely together also meant Alex got to know the stunning Nori rather well. I loved the family interest and interference in Alex and Nori's relationship and the way family pulled together to make a dream happen. I also loved the fun details of the story - Nori's glasses, links to Lyra (from another series) and of course Lucy. A wonderful conclusion to the Hudson House series and a book I'm sure I'll read several more times!
This book was so delightfully written, with TONS of detail about The Hudson House and the very interesting characters in the story. The hero, and heir, Alex Hudson comes home to find that even though someone received a weekly check for keeping the house cleaned, it was filthy! Alex goes to see his father’s attorney and finds that his dad’s file is being turned over to the attorney’s daughter, Nori, also an attorney. I totally ADORED this third installment of this awesome series! The author really drew me in on each and every book in this series and I couldn’t wait for the next one to come out! Such a great book to add to your library! I was on the AR team, and this is my honest opinion. 🙏♥️🤗
This was one of the most heartfelt stories of the four. It brought tears to my eyeswhen Nori didn't think Alex loved her enough to stay, and then the way Alex described Nori to her father. To see him come alive the more he learned of Hudson House and his deep appreciation for where he came from. As much as Nori and he both despised his unwelcome aunts, you knew they didn't care one iota for the Mansion. Shanna really outdid herself with this one since I could hardly put it down. It well deserves a five star. I will probably go back and read it a second time.
alex hudson is back after his father dies. nori is working with her father who is alexes lawyer. alex is not sure what to do with everything. they start with why the place has not been cleaned then as he is showing nori around the place he suggests maybe hope the place as a museum. but first they are going to plan a Christmas party just like when it was first built. this is a warm wonderful story. i could not stop reading it. looking forward to the next one. i was given a copy of the book but this is honest review
Great addition to the Hudson House series by Shanna Hatfield. Alex is back in Silver Bluff to run the estate after his father’s death. Nori is back in town as a partner in her family law office. Nori is assigned to help Alex with his legal issues and they start spending lots of time together. His three aunts are trying everything to contest the will that gave everything to Alex. Their attraction continues to grow. He has big plans for Hudson House, but will he stay in Silver Bluff? *I received this as an ARC reader and am leaving my unbiased review.
Alex is returning to the Hudson Estate to claim his inheritance. He is the last of the direct descendants of the original owner. Nori is his attorney, helping him navigate the legalities of his inheritance.
I have loved every book in the Hudson series. I will certainly miss this family. The books are all well-written, with godly, Christian content, lots of laughter, romance, and, occasionally, a few tears.
I received a copy of this book from the author. My review is entirely voluntary and unbiased.
Alex is coming home to check on his father's estate and finds it has not been cleaned by person he was paying - finding rotting food in the fridge and a gross cup of rotten tea on his deceased aunt's desk - Nori is a lawyer working in her father's firm and gets Alex's account - she of course must be out there to check on the place and they become friends and it takes several months to come to terms with his money grabbing Aunts that want the place sold to line their own pockets - a fitting end to this series that I didn't want to end! I read a beta version and freely leave my opinion.
Alex Hudson is back at Hudson House in Silver Bluff, OR. His dad had passed away about 3 months ago. He had to settle his affairs and has now moved back to take care of the family business. Nori is the attorney that is helping him settle the will. Alex has a couple of aunts that are mad that he was named the sole heir. They were given a considerable amount, but want more. They are contesting the will and causing problems.
I love how the author took the beginning of the house and the family and followed it through several generations. Great story about legacy.
If you have not read the previous books in this series, please do yourself a favor and read them in order. This has been a wonderful story of the Hudson family of Silver Bluff, Oregon, from the late 1800s to present. Without meeting Brant and Holland, you will not appreciate Hudson house and the family that has lived there. Each book introduces you to the next generation and gives you a wonderful picture of the family and the era. This is among my favorite series and I fell in love with the family. I want to visit that house that Brant designed and walk in the gardens that were so carefully laid out.
Alex and Nori meet when he goes to the lawyers' office for the reading of his father's will. She is the lawyer taking over his case from her dad. There are a few legal things she has to handle, but mostly she introduces him to people she can vouch for that have skills he needs to reopen the house.
Theirs is a sweet love story.
This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.
This 4th book in the Hudson Family series is in modern day. The characters are wonderful. Alex, an engineer, has returned home to find Hudson house in less than stellar shape. When he meets with his father's attorney, he meets Nori. She is the attorney's daughter, also an attorney. When he learns he has inherited all his father has, Alex sets out to restore Hudson House to it's original amazing beauty and finds lots of help from the wonderful community and love in the process.
A wonderful story of the Hudson family this time set in today’s time period, and a great ending to the series. Alaxander Kade Hudson inherits his father’s ownership of Hudson Estate Corporation, along with his father’s seat on the board. And all that was owned by his father. What will Alex do with Hudson House when all he wants to do is return to South America. I invite you to read A Christmas Hope to find out what Alex does. I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
When Alex Hudson finally came home to take care of his father's estate, he found the beautiful Hudson House, in a sad state of neglect. Thinking he'd settle things and go back to his life, he was draw to the house more than he expected. When he meets with his new attorney,Nori Laroux, he's smitten more each interaction. Will Hudson House bring another couple together? I loved the characters and storyline so much.
Alex finds Hudson House in a bad way. His money hungry aunts are trying to take away his inheritance. He needs a lawyer. Nori works with her father in his law office and assigns her to Alex's case. They work together to make Hudson House what it was. They decide to once again have the Christmas party the community loved. Love grows as they work together to save and make Hudson House beautiful again. This is the final book in the 4 book series. I have love each of them!!
This is one fantastic read of Nori and Alex's journey to happy ever after. The storyline is cleverly woven and realistic along with amazing and intriguing characters. I love the glimpses into their world. I just couldn't put it down until I finished it. I just love how they all, the community too, put the old grand house back to its glory, in the good old days. Loved it.
What a sweet ending to this series as we find Alex returning to Hudson House after his father passed away and finding Hudson House falling apart. When he needs help from a lawyer to protect his inheritance from his Aunts he meets Nori who is happy to help him legally and with his need to return Hudson House to it's former glory after it has been neglected and they could not help but fall for each other.
The last generational story of Hudson House started off pretty sad. The once beautiful home over a century old sat empty. Alex Hudson had inherited it along with many other properties and a seat in the Board of Directors of the company that had been in the family for as long as the home stood. The story opens with a trip to his attorney to sign papers, etc. His attorney was Niko and a whole new story begins. Bring tissue!
Facing his ancestral home in a small town he never planned to live in for long, Alex is finding himself struck by lightning which will surely bind him forever. The tale continues the Hunter family saga which will begin to draw him into recreating all the community affairs that will bind him to them forever.
The author draws this series to a completely satisfying conclusion. As Alex and Nori work together to bring Hudson House back to life again, they come across many “snapshots” of the past that show the wonderful legacy that has been left to Alex. I loved all of the family history that was brought back to life again through this story. Their “queries and kisses” moments are so sweet and reminiscent of the moments that Alex’s ancestors spent getting to know each other through their sunshine breaks, cookies and kisses moments, or art appreciation breaks. Great book and great series!!
I have so enjoyed this series and hated to see it end but it has a wonderful ending that I absolutely loved. Alex is the direct heir to Hudson House and Nori helps him figure out a future for the house. The more time they spend together the more they fall for each other. A really great story that captivated me from the beginning.
Wow a return to visit Hudson house and restore it to grandeur while meeting decendnts of pat character makes for a wonderful reading adventure. A little past entwines with the present and these characters will steal your heart.
As always, a beautifully written story about two people who meet under stressful conditions. Alex just wants to save his inheritance and meets Nori, an Attorney. Heartwarming and perfect for the holidays and anytime you want to read about realistic people.
