Another great mystery by Keith Baker set in Ireland. His books are such page-turners with so many twists and turns with no loose ends at the conclusion of the story.

Enjoyable read...set against a generation between the end of The Troubles in Northern Ireland and the present. Many twists and turns, and a protagonist that has to think quickly in order to escape the several killings. And then...there may be a follow up. Suspenseful, but not full of information about Ireland.

My second consecutive novel that is set in Ireland--fun! Fewer descriptions of the landscape and Irish climate though, and more focus on the history of "The Troubles." I really don't have much of a grasp of Irish politics so I'm sure that some of this was lost to me, however, the novel was a fun read full of suspense. A lot of suspense and mystery, nothing shocking, but good to read. Jack Macallan goes back to Ireland after his father dies and mysterious events and information keep getting uncovered as he deals with his grief and the knowledge of who his father was.

The story is totally compelling, and I really liked getting an inside view of Irish politics and society since The Troubles. I overlooked the novel's slide into over-the-top action sequences, because the characters and writing were otherwise so strong.
